YxCEc2kUDRp2RWy:With this combination of alphabets that form your moniker, how do you remember your username? Op, the Commonest reason why Mikel Obi won't be moved if a stranger says "you look cute" is the same reason you won't be moved if a begged tells you "you're handsome". Celebs know that most people want their approval and attention and that's why they won't value your compliments. Let any big celeb tell Mikel Obi he is handsome, no matter how bad his day was, he'll show the approval. So we appreciate compliments more if it comes from our circle or people of our stratus. |

Like seriously? I throught this was going to be an ordinary threat but seems the gov is hellbent. While I won't for any reason support disobedience to government's orders, he should have fined them heavily before allowing then reopen it. Now, it's loss and losses. He hasn't gain, the hotel managers haven't gain. Rather the governor has attracted more critics. |
Kirinwa: I guess so...the lockdown will pass in the end and we'll still stand. |
Kirinwa:Are you then a 'fastpoke' trying to speed up a slowpoke or you're just angry I referred the pic as hers? |
Nigeria is really on a long thing. But think of it, if staff management is a problem for MDAs, how can the government manage the citizens. Why won't we keep having ghost-citizens? |
delectablegyal:Forced me to check your pic. Why force me to like it again? ![]() |

ajl:Suffice to say that if you have a tech idea that is not backed by a great moneybag or some foreign companies, it's dead on arrival. Someone said on radio today "we'll develop when our wealthy people stop empowering people with just wheelbarrow and tailoring materials, we'll develop when they start investing in research, development and great ideas". Until then, we'll keep managing the crumbs of our intelligent youths educated by foreign universities. |
majamajic:Perhaps there's more you think we can learn from you sir... @op, you're just not going to give up. Do you know what you have over the wealthy man who is now dead? Nothing can change about him while everything about you can still change. As long as you've got your breathe, you've got a chance and you don't give up. You sounds so much like a determined person, let your determination comes from inside of you. How about the spiritual realm? It's a personal thing but you need to get serious with God (on a personal note) and keep doing whatever you find to do well. You're still better than those who don't even know they have problems at all. |
When you get to the top, you'd discover that your race, ethnicity and religion are useless. But of course here we are, the bottom of the pyramid where everyone seeks relevance by tribe, race and religion. |
Frankicent:This your advice looks so cheap and simple but I see it as a very expensive gift you can give to the op at this point in time. I hope he sees the value and utilize it well. Even when love gets to its height, reality has always been stronger and 'I love you, I love you' must be with sense. Where marriage is involved, no chance must be taken. The op must have become a little attractive to the lady because they're not close, if he should fall for the trap and refuses to move on, it's like digging one's grave. |
Sunshineg5:I think Gov Ajimobi ought to be responsible for that. The idea was to create a road network where interstate travels outside Ibadan won't need to pass within the city. The former gov started the construction and when Gov. Makinde came, he stopped work on it for review. Later, work was resumed because he claimed that the road has huge economic importance to Oyo State. In my own opinion though, making the road is not a bad idea especially as Oyo State has been witnessing increase in road traffic compared to what used to be the case in the past 8 or 9 years ago. On the topic, the number of road lanes alone don't translate to development. Development is just a smart way of dealing with internal challenges of a place. Huge population figure, concentrated economic activities etc can increase traffic flow which is mostly solved by increasing the road lanes or providing mass transit system. |
redsun:You're so coherent! Nigeria is not like this because of a tribe, it is like this because of our collective attitudes. Carve out 50 nations from Nigeria and what you'll see more is a magnification of those beastly attitudes in the minds of an average Nigerian. We need value reorientation first before we can develop even if we change our system of government. We've lost values, lost self-respect and group-dignity. We are our government and our government is us. |
You mean you intend to come back and edit this if rapture takes place before this time tomorrow? If Jesus said he didn't know when but your own analysis is correct? I've heard more convincing analyses and they've been wrong. |
Letting go is a skill anyone going into relationship must imbibe. We deal with humans and we don't have any control over their minds, even if we do, we won't really enjoy that. What they saw in you that made you desirable to them may be seen in another with a better version, only marriage used to be an insurance against that and even marriage itself is plagued with challenges. Dear op, you'll overcome this. Just try and be strong and hold on to your lesson. Love and commitment must always go hand-in-hand with the ability to let go. Don't turn against men because you don't know the one that'll be ready to give you his head if you asked for it. But understand that you can't control people's minds but you can control yours. As for your lover, don't be the one to call it quit because of the reason he gave. You can try by giving him space but the steps to be taken will reveal themselves to you in time. |
CXLVII:Really? What about George Washington, what about Abe Lincoln? I think their tenures were great decisive periods for the US. |
ObaOfUyo:"Can a man keep fire in his bossom and not get burnt?" The bible asked. The price of this kind of person far outweighs the ones you mentioned there but someone already said that a man with money can't be controlled. |
AuntRose:I actually find it so... The lady is creative I must confess. |
Do you know why I enjoy browsing Yoruba vs Igbo threads? It's because these two tribes have a lot in common than every other tribe in Nigeria and I've also learnt that when you have a lot of things in common with someone, you compete with them. Just don't let this metamorphose into something physical. |
Fidelismaria:The op is trying to be sensational....if he's sure, let him post the source. The MURIC we know don't interfere where matters like this are concerned. |
solmusdesigns:Divorce, heartbreak and similar things can make anyone an overnight philosopher and motivational speaker. |
manchy7531:Woooow....you're this knowledgeable about Ibadan and every other city? You should have say so jor...this is one of the reasons I hate argument too o. Now that you've stated the 'facts', I can peacefully go away. But sir, any time you get a chance to develop any of the cities in Nigeria, please do... I think that's what will help not necessarily these proving of points. |
manchy7531:Won't be able to give you the figure accurately because I haven't been to all the developing places and the slums. But I know it's about 4:1 and that's because from any good aerial view of Ibadan (including Bower's Tower), you can only see around 1/4 and the slums are concentrated. |
IGBOSON1:People really think the city is all slums and yet it's witnessing more development than ever. I just hate talking about the modern Ibadan the same way I hate defending some cities in the east when myopic people starts giving their opinions. |
I see the drone accurately captured about 1/4 of Ibadan. What the drone captured is the den of warriors of the restless Ibadan days. You can't capture Ibadan in a 2:19 aerial drone view, the city just keeps widening. |
Thank God for them Glad they found them alive. What follows next is sending them abroad away from the propensity to get kidnapped all the time. This reality is so painful but what do you do when lives of your kids are threatened? In today's Nigeria, you don't need to be a poor man to feel the heat. But the rich can run somewhere else, the poor is doomed to sit here still. |
mansakhalifa:Forget about skepticism or atheism, the spiritual realm is so real. I don't go deep into it because there's a lot of it that I don't understand. But I know that breaking some laws will break you too. Anyone who really wants to find out will willingly and fully go into it. And guess what? It's easier to operate in the realm of black magic than it is in true connection with God. |
I don't know much but I think nation building is not fanciful stories like everything that we're painting here. People really think a part of Nigeria is the problem and so when you cut it out, the problem ceases to exist but I'm imagining what Mandela would think in his grave when he sees the lifestyle of most black South Africans. If we all have the attitudes we have as Nigerians, we shouldn't expect anything to change soon just because our country has split Nigeria is not the problem, it's the people there. More so, new unprecedented challenges will arise and since we've found it difficult to build Nigeria with discipline and dedication, majority will give up their newly formed country easily and go again looking for succor outside. Everything here is fantasy and thus it will remain. The reality might be scarier than you think. Or do you think we'll manufacture ideal leaders to govern those new states? |
fulaniHERDSman:I thought I saw human rights or is my eye paining me. I hope you get well educated lawyers who will tell you that the Almajiri system by all intents and purpose negates the rights of a child as signed by the UN which Nigeria is part. Do you want me to list those rights or you'll look for them online? Let's stop thinking that rights are licence to do evil, rather rights are meant to defend the defenseless and in this case, innocent children brought to the world by 'I-don't-care' parents and sent to the streets at an early age to fend for themselves. |
bukatyne:Thanks |
