kbower: This your point MAY be valid, but you know in this life you may never know the main truth until you have 100% evidence, but based on instinct and how the whole thing played out there may be something IDK. Take for example now, yesterday my friend who did referencing for us called me how far about the new guy I wanted to refer cos I already told him about the dude at first b4 all the suspicion came in, I was like the guy has not gotten back yet, though he was gonna charge him some money to do the ref. But then I was on call with madam when he called on the other line and she asked who that was, I was like my friend that helped us, she was not like do you still want to help? I was like if he calls me back I MIGHT tell him that i want to forward his number to the guy so they can relate directly while I comot my hand for the matter as I really d not want to talk to anybody. Fastforward till yesternight, my guy did not call me, I sent him a message though that I wanted to send his number over, but neither did he call or responded to my message. Na him madam later on that day told me that the guy's wife has called her, that since she blocked the dude, he didnt know the number that called but it happened it was the wife and she was like shes so so so person wife, that my husband said I should ask howfar with the reference and bla bla, I was like wow, should it get to that, how can you be the only one that they see that can render help. Madam said babes, there is nothing to hide hence her persistence in getting them help and her telling me over n over again. I was like oh well if my guy calls me I will ask him that I want to send his number to the family who needs his help. Me and madam come get plan sey we wan do phone s3x at around 1am when everyone dun sleep for her side, as I call her sey make we begin, omo the first thing wey she go talk na sey hafa this dude, i sey which dude, she sey the guy na, i sey wetin happen, she said we were suppose to conect him to my friend, that can she get the number now and forward to him? I was like whats all this na, as far as I have withdrawn myself for this reference matter, I still dey try make i help but in a distanced way , u still dey solicit like sey na mandate, sebi na me tell you sey when my guy get back to me i will ask for permission to forward his number, why the persistence, and why be sey when we wan catch fun, u nor even wait for us to start and finish na the guy matter u first bring come. I just vex sey i wan go sleep, she come beg me sey make i nor vex, me just tell am sey for the sake of sanity, make she just bone both the wife and the guy finally like this cos the persistence dun dey make the whole thing more glaring sey something more is to it and I really do not care and dont want to be forced into feeling that way.
You see your advise of travelling alone and all that nor go possible. The plan outlined will be carried out, if anything goes fine, no problem, if it doesnt, I will gladly come back to nija, even if i lose custody to the kids, divorces me and all, I go pay C support, I should be capable to handle that financial aspect while I also attend to my own life. Hmmm..again, so you think. Since you guys have already damned everything and crossed the rubicon, all this 16pages of talk no really matter again. Yes, you would have to continue with the plan, but also you will lneed to be very very smart to stay ahead of whatever is to come, cos all I can tell you like many have said already, is that some shi is brewing. I hope for your sake that all works out for you/her, cos this one wey you talk is what we call 'enu dun ro efo', it is either said than done. Ps: I don't/didn't believe for a second she blocked that guy. All this talk about the wife of the guy calling just further confirmed that. |

Kaysalas: See ehn, what I hate most in my life is aimless wandering. The bone of contention isn't paying in dollars nor is it the use to which the item is put. As I said earlier, I removed shipping for a purpose, you replaced with sent. TRADE takes place between BUYERS AND SELLERS. understanding this will remove all this unnecessary Waka about. Every item has its place of origin, Peter Obi doesn't live in Europe, nor does he manufacture the goods he retails, so he is an IMPORTER of those goods. The manufacturers who are based in Europe and manufacture from Europe are the EXPORTERS. THOSE are the two sides involved in his trade activities. And what makes you feel the bolded is true? So someone cannot be an importer and consumer of the goods he imported at the same time? Now, the last bolded while true, wasn't the bone of contention from the very get go. Go back and read up on the origin of this import/export discuss, the guy I quoted wasn't thinking along this your last paragraph. Link to his post and warped reasoning
https://www.nairaland.com/post/117937379 yea you can be both an importer and consignee/consumer. You can also be an import/export merchant. I already addressed that in my post which had been modified some 15+ minutes ago. |

Kaysalas: First off, you didn't ask a Yes or No question, therefore simple Yes or No cannot suffice. To your question; someone who is based in Canada and sells cars to Nigeria is an EXPORTER, while the person here in Nigeria, who pays dollars to get the cars here to Nigeria is the importer. (Assuming a two party trade, which should be the case anyway) Notice how I intentionally removed shipping from my answer. Then go back to read the origin of this argument for better understanding. very very funny. Okay let me throw your analogy back at you. The man based in Canada who sent the cars to Nigeria is an Exporter, at least you agree to that. The buyer of the car in Nigeria does not have to pay in dollars to get the car, he/she just has to pay an agreed cost for the cars/product. I have bought 4 cars from this my friend in Canada and I didn't pay in dollars. Now, if you bought a bottle of Hennessy and decided to pay for that bottle of Hennessy in dollars, does that make you an importer based on your own definition? The simple explanation and deciding factor is purpose of buying. If I buy a car from the USA, and put it to use in Nigeria, I am a consumer. If I buy a car from the USA to resell in Nigeria, I'm an importer. If I have a registered business in both China and Nigeria, and I have a licence to send drugs and medicaments to Nigeria for resale/distribution, the answer to that is what? An importer and exporter! Import-Export merchant more like. In this same line of thought, if Peter Obi has a registered business and licence in the obodo oyinbo and here that would make him what? Cc Freethinker87 Ps: Maybe he can be called an Import/Export Merchant, for exactitude. Cheers!

openmine: Your comment is long but i get what you are trying to say! Let me see if i can make you understand my point of view explicitly! Pricing of any product or service in any country is basically dependent but not limited to.... Moderate security stable electricity unified tax regime accessible roads low production cost etc Once the highlighted is readily available, the price of any commodity will slowly but surely reduce! There is nothing wrong with local production or any government encouraging such, however local manufacturers of this products will not sell at an affordable rate if the highlighted are missining in any country! I am an advocate for subsidy removal however the FG must first prioritize rehabilitation or building of refineries or give licenses to other players to locally refine before venturing into the removal! yea.. certainly I wasn't casting any aspersions on your stand. It doesn't betray logic really. It is just a reminder that naija has an uncanny tendency to defy economic permutations. openmine: Chai Na wa for una ohh So you think the local manufacturer will cultivate rice with no subsidy on the fertilizer that he purchases, use diesel plants to power the machine that remove stones from the rice and also use machines to bag them while transporting the bags of rice on a diesel powered truck on an inaccessible road and you expect the local manufacturer to still sell his or her products at a reduced price like that of the foreign counterparters whose country have accessible roads, adequate security, constant electricity, reduced transport cost and a unified tax? I wish Nairaland had an audio record button, typing long texts hurts my fingers. Now look at this, the land borders were closed and the justification and 'economic explanation' was that this will allow local producers to thrive, achieve self sufficiency, be the preferred choice, and will ultimately make rice so much cheaper. The whole buy Nigeria, eat Nigeria was everywhere. Over 4 years later, local rice and foreign na 500naira difference. Today, you are justifying why local rice should not be expected to be more affordable than foreign rice. Nigeria just has a way of turning logic and economics on its head. Next one is crude, and petroleum products, dem say na low price of crude in international market be excuse for hardship, that Goodluck time was over 100 a barrel bla bla bla. Next thing crude goes up even to the 100s and no benefit or relief. Then story was the Forex exchange is the problem, since exchange is high the cost is expensive to refine and ship products. So high or low, no respite for Nigerians. Now na subsidy removal again, economics theories flying all about. Kasssandra (Hello Kasssandra) even came up with a phantom theory of how bridging cost is the reason for Lagos fuel scarcity..we don hear the news now and know the actual and true reason why. One refinery every year was the promise, and yet not one was built in 8 years and now the whole country is waiting cap in hand for Dangote who will show you people pepper..just wait and see...but no! economists will tell tales of how subsidy removal will fix everything, like we haven't seen economics turned on its head many times in Nigeria. Heck, 2 SIBs went under under the bald dumb CBN governor Emefoole, and he got rewarded with a second term...the problem is useless leadership and corruption. Subsidy removal is no magic bullet, yes it has to go, but I promise you even when it does and you still have these evil, corrupt directionless, square pegs in round holes, we will still come here to read a post just like yours of how subsidy removal is what is affecting us, just like local rice has turned out. All you peter obi supports... You are so funny.. You know why you like to dream something that will never happen... Don't worry I will explain why I said this... Listen... You see this 2023 election is Atiku vs Tinubu... The question I expect you all to ask your selves now is ... If Tinubu does not win who wins... Then definitely Atiku.... My question for you all is 1) Do you want the north to rule again... 2) Do you want the north to rode you of your land and resources...
Now let me talk about Peter Obi... You see, Peter Obi is not bad... But the thing is Peter Obi is just an amateur... Sit yourselves ... I mean be truthful with your selves ( Also Peter Obi supporters) how strong is Peter Obi ready for this election... I mean financially, influencially and politically... You will realise that Peter Obi is nowhere between Atiku and Tinubu.... What I expected you all is support Tinubu, because this man has all already... Tinubu wants to work and he knows he owes Nigeria an apology for bringing a failure to rule us for 8 years.. You think Tinubu does not know why he is praising Buhari... He knows Buhari failed ... But he is doing this to use Buhari to win.... You see what you all don't know is... When one is in sit ( like Buhari ) this is an advantage to Tinubu.. You can never beat a sitting Party ... This is why APC knows they can win this and PDP knows... But you see... Let me let you all know something... Peter Obi trending on social media is a plan from PDP .... They want Peter Obi to trend so that those areas Tinubu suppose to win will be share between Tinubu and Obi... Now me let you know... North ... Huge part is for Atiku... Which Peter Obi can never affect... So if you all that supposed to vote Tinubu votes Peter Obi... Then Atiku wins....
You all need to start thinking unless ... If you don't Atiku will win... Because all of you have been blinded... Peter Obi is not even really known in the north... Peter Obi himself knows that his chances of winning is slim... And it only if miracle takes place... What of if miracle doe not take place... Atiku will win... You all need to be wise... You saw the previous election Buhari vs Atiku .... You saw that it was even a surprise to everyone how Atiku lost to Buhari.... You all need to reason matters and know how prepares and strong the north is for Atiku... We have to vote Tinubu... 1) Because he is the one that can defeat Atiku 2) Tinubu understands Nigeria politics... Even the north knows that.. 3) All this Fulani can't try rubbish if Tinubu is President... Tinubu is a man with action... He does not talk much but put action to whatever he does... Let's vote Tinubu unless if Atiku wins because of your foolishness and thinking Peter Obi will win by miracle... You are preparing Nigeria for another 8 years suffering under Atiku... Thanks foolishness written all over this write-up. Won't even waste any energy widening the already numerous holes in this crappy submission. |
