babaowo: what he meant by private matter is that ibori is a dual citizen of uk and naija, and uk is treating ibori like their citizen who had violated the united kingdom laws and orders. Rubbish! Absolute rubbish!! The Delta state info commissioner's statement is even better than yours. The commissioner's statement is face saving. Ibori's older cousin but, political god-son is the present gov and if mr. commissioner had opened his mouth any "wider" he wld hv been sacked. |

niddamugu: How relevant is Fashanu in Nigeria? When it mattered most he denied his country. I guess he wants a share of the "Ibori-loot". Bros, its not true. Fash did not deny Nigeria. Fact is: Fash was invited to the Eagles camp severally but he never got a shirt cos he could not displace Yekini, Siasia, Owobokiri etc. So when he got tired of warming the bench (im bom-bom almost catch fire), he then stopped coming to camp claiming that Keshi and his boys did not want him cos he was not part of their click and also could not speak our pigin as that was the "official" language in camp. However, Fash is a dual citizen and in the British court system, its not uncommon to call a character witness during sentencing. The character witness usually is a respected/respectable fellow and he only comes to put in a few good words for the convict just to say the guy isn't all that bad, he has some good sides too. Okocha's name came up cos Okocha is from Delta state and presently the Vice Chair of DSC and seriously loved in Bolton and since the judge is a native of Bolton they used Okocha's name to touch his heart so that the "Thief Ona-na-thief Gems" Ibori could get a lighter sentence. It worked! The rogue was initially "officially" entitled to 25yrs. |

In addition to romero's advice. Pls ladies stay out of these drugs completely. If u must hv sex pls let ur bf or hub know when u aint safe so that he'll "pour off". Drugs aint good at all. Imagine something that disturbs a legit process must definately "spoil" something. Especially the unmarried ladies. Least when some of you get married and start "looking for". Say NO to all those drugs. Pleeeaaase! 1 Like |

Thought he was appointed as a Senior Special Adviser (SSA) to Governor Rochas Okorocha. |

@Shymmex: Thank you very much for bad-belly filled comparison. You went to Wikipedia and carefully culled out Dr. Kim's profile and instead of doing same for Dr. Iwuala, you decided to play your antics out. Its really unfortunate the way we take and wish ourselves bad in this country. If we could just be a little bit more supportive of our country and our countrymen/women this country will achieve greatness but alas we our own major draw back to greatness. Many of us are very good at condemning and criticking honest endeavours for parochial reasons. Its really really saddening! @OP: Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iwuala, did us all proud. She did not contest the position with Dr. Kim, but against the US and its allies. Mr. Kims CV does not fit IBRD aka World Bank, they should have sent him to WHO (whatever happened to putting square pegs in square holes). |

niceG: Someone please tell me, is there anything the Akwa Ibom state government can do about this? Yes, they can help. The Akwa Ibom AG can take up d case with his Lagos counterpart. Besides, lawyers in d house (esp. those in Lagos) could help also. Let them go and ask questions and get to the root of the case. Ofcos, they shld know how to go about it. I am not a lawyer neither resident in Lagos. Lawyers abeg make una try for d girl. |

Coefficient: When they steal, they keep in Switzerland. When sick, they go to Germany or Israel. When investing, they go to the states. When buying a castle, they go to London. When shopping, they go to Dubai. When on holidays, they go to Bahamas. When educating their siblings, they choose Europe. When praying, they go to Saudi or Vatican or Jerusalem. But when they die, they all want to be buried in Africa where they looted the treasure. Our dear continent is only good for corpses!!! How did you come up with this? You sure have exhibited sheer intelligence my man. Thumbs up! |

yorke: Its not true! Maybe you only visited his home-village (Ogara) which he transformed from a hamlet to a fairly modern town or the Itsekiri area where his mum and cousin (present governor) is from. |
![]() |
yorke: who is not complainin Mr. Yorke? Who? I am from the state of Delta. If you are also from Delta and you aren't complaining please speak only for yourself. Please! Just that we don't want to throw the baby with the bath water, if not. In Ibori's case that should have been it. The entire family (wife, concubine, cousins and himself) is roguish. "T(C)HIEF (JAMES) GEMS ONA-NA-THIEF IBORI". |

The money and assets shouldn't be returned to Delta state yet as his first cousin and political son is the governor cos he will keep it for him and give it back with interest. Trust the British (scrooges), they will surely deduct the cost of prosecution first. |

Aha! After listening to her story, what did the state AG do? Nothing? |
![]() |
Even if she was 21 and not 16 shouldn't d state provide her with a legal representation as she couldn't afford one? Again if she told the IPO she was 16 what was the IPO's business to assume she was 21yrs old? Besides, was she not supposed to write her statement and therefore write her age? These police men in black, i have always believed that the color of their uniforms reflect on their heart. She should be released immediately and rehabilitated, please. |

Thought the body of this post is somewhat different from the heading. I must however observe that it appears the Yoruba are suffering a decline in leadership. Pa AWOLOWO: an astute strategist and visioner. Pa AJASIN: renowned educationist and a dogged fighter. Pa ADESANYA: intelligent organiser, knows how to fight and retreat (but never runs away) to come back stronger. Pa OBASANJO: can not be trusted. Has a good CV though. TUNUBU: "kpolika", talku talku, lacks ability of extending handshake across region. AREGBESOLA: loquacious ready thug. 1 Like |

@Peterkbaba: I like the way you market your party (ACN). Well garnished with your "spices" (lies, half truthes, propaganda, conspiracy theories etc). Its unlike the people trying to sell Buhari who start and stop with insulting people who have contrary views. When Buhari finally loses (as usual) they resort to violence not knowing they did not market or package him well. You are in order bro, though its a digress from topic! |

@Javalove: You are obviously a Yoruba moslem. Enlightened! |

@Brixtonyute: i think u'll do better driving ur points home and not insult people who tow a different line from us without d slightest provocation. |

Mine are: 1, KANU NWANKWO for his "big heart" and soccer intelligence. 2, AUSTEN OKOCHA made us very proud of being Nigerians here in England and for his very natural skills. 3, STEPHEN KESHI in his time was d best libero in d world and for exposing Nigerian footballers to professionalism abroad. 4, AMUNIKE for his pace, mind for goals and d first African and only Nigerian to play for Barcelona FC. 5, FINIDI GEORGE for his inch perfect crosses, feat in Spain, patriotism to Nigeria during his time. Wish i could name more. Pepertua NKWOCHA and Mikel OBI are both still very popular in Norway. |

Kobojunkie: I wonder how many people on here have actually stated that Iweala is expected to SOLVE the problems. ** hands on chin** ** wondering*** Pls, remove ur hands from ur chin and stop wondering. Some of us come here and call the "poor" woman names. What's that for? She came to help her father-land and it has turned to a curse. Someone has already hit d nail correctly about d problem being political and not economics. Point blank, our constitution is a fraud! How can it say a minister must be appointed from each state? For Heaven's sake there are some states u can even find a good primary school teacher yet d president is mandated to appoint a whole policy maker (minister) from there. GOD forbid! |
![]() |
@kobojunkie, Brixtonyute and co: its not fair to just criticize any or all statements or actions of Madam Ngozi. Has any of you ever bothered to ask ur state governors how they spend ur money (this is d govt that is supposed to be closer to u)? This woman did not influence d subsidy remover but just because she's from d world bank many of us just assume it was her brain child and therefore hate her for it. Its not fair! As a matter of fact, it was d state governors that pressured GEJ to remove it. |
![]() |
Negro_Ntns: The minister did not use tact in this address. why should she use tact? Is there tact in speaking the truth? The governors only want more money to steal. Its unfortunate our constitution aids it. Can u imagine what the governors of Borno, Yobe, Zamfara, Kebbi, Benue, Niger, Abia, Ebonyi, Ekiti, Kogi, Taraba, Adamawa will be doing with more more money? When they have only but helped themselves with their state allocations. Our constitution as it is today is nothing but a "legal 419". |

@agitator: pls u got me wrong. Very wrong! I dislike Lagos cos of d bustling nature of d city and same i said of London hence i choice to stay in Hull City. I was born and bred in Lagos and even "cut my teeth" there. I m not d partying or hustling type hence my choice for more serene settlements. Besides, as an Architect is pays me better in Abuja. @juzhilz: I appreciate d optimism we both share for this potentially strong country of ours. I even appreciate more as u choose to differ on d working strength of ds present govt. But, we must give d president a chance and our collective good will. Jonathan may hv his faults but i strongly doubt is ur point blank coruption accusation is one. Its not easy leading a multi-cultural linguistic, tribalist and sectional entity as Nigeria, hence he needs our prayers. I believe our president is a good man, we may not like his hat or mien but he is a good man. I hvnt gained anything from him or his admin but just trust him sort of. GOD bless us all. |

@love4ual: ur choice of words to describe ur country is unimpressive and therefore unacceptable. Our country has a lot of potentials and ofcos like a developing nation has its very bitter and/or tasteless sides. Part of our disappointments are that we expect d govt to do virtually everything for us. D present govt in all honesty is doing well considering d decay it met. Many of us are expecting too much in a very short period of time. A lot of us are also looking up to "what we can gain from d govt". Even d so called diasporans. They are leeches! D various associations are filled with drones and vultures. When i joined d UK/Ireland group, i soon found out that i was mingling with people who are hoping on fleecing our country than people who want to help, so i stopped attending their meetings. Let's all do our bit and u'll be surprised at what ur little could do, positively. Let us all bless d country cos she's our MOTHER, FATHER and CHILD for who so ever curses his/her parents bring same upon his own head and if u bless ur child(ren) u'll reap bountifully. GOD forever bless this our wonderful Nigeria! Thru Christ. Amen! 1 Like |

eruudy: See this man ... he forgot to mention his daughter that was with him in the car ..... Where your pikin mister man ? @eruudy: wetin be ur own? D man dey talk d thn wey dey pain am (car, 180k, phone), u dey ask d wan wey no pain am. On a serious note. Its saddening how people can just decide to kill or maim fellow humans without the slightest recourse to humane feelings at all. How i wish their dead colleagues can appear to them in a dream and let them know that they are hell fire. |

@bodejohn: i sincerely sympathize with u on ur dad's case. D police in Nigeria are a rare speci of select demons. U hv also given very good reasons for ur pessimism. Thumbs up! But, pls look on d bright side (there are a lot). However, i think Nigeria is one of d very best nations as sited by d poster. I live in both Nigeria (FCT) and England (Hull City), i detest London just like i loathe Lagos. My only biz with Lag is only when i hv to travel to Doha thru d MMA. Generally, i love Nigeria and very proud of my heritage. An American president ones said "think not what ur country can do for u but what u can do for ur country". What i do for my country is giving her my civic responsibilities and being an employer of labour. 2 Likes |
