And when you pray,
do not babble on like pagans,
for they think that by their many words they will be heard.

- Matthew 6:7

It has to be said, babbling that what was practised in the ancient world, which is glossalia, did predate the occurrence of speaking in tongues that happened on Pentecost day.

20th/21st century Christians however, openly and without any sense of embarrassment, did not only hijack glossalia (i.e. babbling) but took ownership of it, to pass, as speaking in tongues

The disconcerting thing is that, the one thing Jesus Christ warned against, as seen in Matthew 6:7 above, not to do, is exactly just what Christians and/or supposed believers have taken a shine to and delight in doing.

Most kids have been trained to be subdued, quiet and do the things that are expected of them without asking questions or being disobedient.

However, that was in the past and children are now taught to speak up for themselves. Despite that school pupils are expected to listen to their teachers and even carry out tasks assigned to them.

Sometimes, these tasks come in form of home assignments to test their knowledge. It is no news that most children do not like doing homework but it is rare to see a pupil who is bold enough to give true reasons for the dislike.

Legit.ng has gathered the report of a young boy identified as Eddie whose teacher asked him to write a paper stating his reasons for not doing his home assignment. The teacher, however, did not bargain for the hilarious letter she got from him.In the lengthy letter, Eddie explained that he does not like doing school work during the weekend because weekends are meant to be stress free. He also added that homework makes him sad and unhappy. Explaining further the pupil wrote that homework is not a thing in real life. See the letter below .

Chikiletta:
The postponement of the 2019 election came as a shock to Nigerians who had already made up their minds to vote out incompetence, nepotism, killings and poverty. However, one cannot take power from tyrants without being bruised. This is part of the bruise that Nigerians need to sustain for a better Nigeria. A lot of Nigerians had fixed sensitive activities for 23rd February, like their weddings. Will they now shift it? A lot of Nigerians had borrowed money to stock up food and fuel supplies for this election, and a lot of people have spent billions traveling across the country to go and cast their votes against bad governance, recession, poverty and incompetence.

In fighting dictatorship, there is no way one will have an easy ride. Buhari had already, through his secret agencies, conducted objective assessments of the election, and was already sure of losing until now. Are Nigerians fazed? Never! Why would Nigerians be fazed when too much is at stake? Do you know that in the next killing spree, your family could be next in the list of people to be killed? Do you know that you might be the next in line to lose your job or have your business fold up in the next round of recession coming to Nigerians? Do you know your husband could be the next person to be locked up against court orders? Do you know that your sons could be killed trying to defend this great nation against Boko Haram and banditry?

A lot is at stake and the voters know this. They know that there is no sacrifice too big for a better Nigeria. Destiny can be delayed but cannot be denied. There is a resolve around the country more than ever. And that resolve goes beyond religion or tribe. That resolve is an unwritten agreement that Never Again shall we have a government without value for human lives. Never again shall we have a government with so much affinity to poverty. Never again shall we have a government so corrupt and never again shall we have a government so incompetent that in the last one month, additional 3m Nigerians have become poorer.
Good points but the information I received, it was the influence of international observer that led to the postponement.

The plan of this government was to hold the election in about 26 states and conduct the other remaining states which will be carefully selected for rigging purpose. The result released from the 26 states where they may not be able to rig will help them work out the figures in the remaining states which they planned to rig. The international observer insisted that all the elections must hold simultaneously. Hence the postponement. This makes more sense to me.

Politics › Re: 7 Things GDP Numbers Tell Us About Buhari’s Reelection Bid by TruthinAction: 3:49am On Feb 15, 2019
deji17:
7 things GDP numbers tell us about Buhari’s reelection bid

February 12

by Mayowa Tijani

On Tuesday, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) released the gross domestic product (GDP) numbers, showing a 1.93 percent growth in the Nigerian economy for the year 2018.

Financial analysts, public commentators, local and foreign media, and opposition bigwigs have said repeatedly that President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has done poorly with the revival of the economy.

Former president Olusegun Obasanjo, who is fiercely opposed to Buhari’s reelection, went as far as saying Buhari is weak on the economy, after over a year in economic recession.

Obasanjo added that a change of the current administration will birth “a government that will improve the economy, regain the confidence of investors and generally drive growth”.

TheCable reviews seven things the GDP numbers say about President Buhari and his re-election bid.

1. BUHARI IS REVIVING AGRICULTURE — FOR REAL

Buhari and Emefiele

President Buhari promised to revive agriculture, and diversify the Nigerian economy. His government, in partnership with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) launched the Anchor’s Borrowers Programme (ABP) to empower smallholder farmers in the country.

The GDP numbers show that Buhari’s plan in agricuture has been working — beyond the rhetoric, as agriculture now contributes over three times more to the Nigerian economy, than oil does.

“Four activities make up the Agricultural sector: Crop Production, Livestock, Forestry and Fishing. sector grew by 18.58% year-on-year in nominal terms in Q4 2018, showing an increase of 8.45% points from the same quarter of 2017,” the NBS report read.

“Crop Production remains the major driver of the sector, accounting for 89.84% of nominal agriculture GDP. On an annual basis, agriculture GDP grew by 14.27%, higher than 11.29% recorded in 2017, The sector contributed 23.08% to nominal GDP in Q4 2018 , which is higher than its contribution in Q4 2017”.

There are evidence of growth in virtually every part of the agriculture sector, despite the floods recorded in the year under review.

2. BUHARI IS STILL ‘BABA GO SLOW’ — BUT STEADY
Buhari’s major economic policy document is the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP). The president and his team say they have remained committed to the plan, which they say will make Nigeria grow again.

According to the plan, and 2018 budget projections, the Buhari administration forecast that the economy would grow by 3.5 percent in 2018. But based on the GDP numbers released on Tuesday, the economy grew by a sluggish 1.93 percent.

On the economy, Buhari’s government has been delivering slow, but steady growth, since exiting recession in 2017.

3. NIGERIA STILL HAS AN OIL PRODUCTION PROBLEM
While Nigeria does not want to fixate its economic prosperity on oil and gas, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo had made it clear that Nigeria needs oil money to get out of oil dependence.

As the country shifts to the non-oil sector, there is a need to make as much money as the country can make from oil to develop other sectors of the economy. But Nigeria is not making the most of oil.

“In the fourth quarter of 2018, average daily oil production stood at 1.91 million barrels per day (mbpd). This was lower than the 1.95 mbpd recorded in the same quarter of 2017, and 1.94mbpd in Q3 2018,” NBS estimates.

This is less than budgetary benchmarks of 2.3 million barrels per day projected by the Buhari administration, and less than production levels under previous governments.

Despite an increase in oil prices in 2018, Nigeria “recorded a real GDP growth rate of –1.62% (year-on-year) in Q4 2018, indicating a decline of –12.81% points relative to the growth rate recorded in the corresponding quarter of 2017”.

This highlights a production problem in the oil sector.

4. BUHARI’S TEAM DROPPING THE BALL ON MINING

Fayemi stepped down as minister in 2018

Following the appointment of Kayode Fayemi as the minister of mines and steel development, the Buhari admin made significant progress in mining across the country.

But the numbers show that there has been a drop in the reality of the sector.

“In real terms, the Mining and Quarrying sector grew by –1.23% in Q4 2018. This was lower than rate recorded in Q4 2017 (10.7%) but higher than the growth rate in Q3 2018 (-2.81%).

“The sector’s contribution to real GDP in Q4 2018 stood at 7.23%, slightly lower than its contribution of 7.49% recorded in Q4 2017 and the 9.53% recorded in the Q3 2018. The sector contributed 8.74% to total real GDP in 2018.”

5. MANUFACTURING IS BOOMING UNDER BUHARI
Buhari’s foreign exchange policy has been to limit what is being imported into Nigeria and increase what is being produced locally. With the support of the Central Bank of Nigeria, the government has been very strict on this.

The numbers show that Buhari’s plan is paying off, as Nigeria’s manufacturing sector seems to be booming.

“In the fourth quarter of 2018, nominal GDP growth for the Manufacturing sector was recorded at 33.57%, which is 24.37% points higher than the rate recorded in the corresponding period of 2017 (9.20%)”.

Buhari is pro-local manufacturing, and the numbers are on his side.

6.TELECOMMUNICATIONS GETTING BIGGER WITH BUHARI

Telecommunications has soared under the leadership of Umar Danbatta

“Telecommunications & Information Services under Information and Communication sector grew by 16.67% in Q4 2018 from 14.97% in Q3 2018 and -3.28% in Q4 2017,” the report read.

Nigeria’s telecoms sector is contributing immensely to the country’s gross domestic product, and has continued on an upward trend from third quarter 2017 to date.

7. NOLLYWOOD ISN’T DOING SO WELL WITH BUHARI
While the information and communications sector of the economy has been doing so well under Buhari, the section of it, which makes up a large part of Nollywood — Motion Pictures, Sound recording and Music production — has not been doing so well.

Its been a rough road with the Buhari administration: In Q2 2017, the sector shrank by 4.53 percent, and recorded growth of 1.02 percent by the end of the year, only to shrink by 2.29 percent by Q2 2018.

At the end of the year under review (2018), the sector grew 0.55 percent.

The same zig-zag growth and decline have been recorded in the broadcasting, arts, entertainment and recreation sectors of the economy.

Obasanjo may have said Buhari is weak with the economy, the incumbent may have said he has done well with the economy. But what do the numbers say to you?

https://www.thecable.ng/7-things-gdp-numbers-tell-us-about-buharis-reelection-bid
8. And Nigeria is getting poorer under Buhari

9. And more people are being slaughtered under Buhari.

10. And more people are committing suicide under Buhari.

11. And naira has lost more value under Buhari.

12. And Boko Haram is killing people and more soldiers under Buhari.

13. And more children are out of school under Buhari.

14. And nepotism is the order of the day under Buhari. All security positions are Muslims from the north.

15. And food items have increased under Buhari.

16. And press freedom has reduced under Buhari.

17. And corruption fight is one sided under Buhari.

I just helped you to add to the list of his achievements.

I think the key players know all these. They just want to fool millions of Nigeria who can't think deep. Kanu Nnamdi focused on just the ears. There are too many more differences between this man and the real Buhari.

1. Compare the nose. It's not the same. Check the curves very well.
2. Try to place the two pictures of the old one and the real one, the shape of the face is different.
3. The voice or intonation is also different.
4. This one looks much younger.
5. It is reported also that he is not as tall as the real Buhari.
6. It took him several months to start working at Aso Rock because the office was inaccessible due to finger print different. So they made different excuses like rat has invaded the office. They are trying to clean it up.
7. This one has never gone back for medical check-up like the real one. Oh it's a miracle.

It's up to you especially southerners and Christians to end this reign of deceptive government. It is a monumental fraud that should enter the Guinness book of world record. And it's a crime that should not be allowed to go unpunished. That is why they must force themselves back into office for fear of facing the wrath of the law after leaving office. This is what wanting power at all cost can result to. Please, watch the video very well before making your comment. To me, it's not a news. I knew it even before Kanu started exposing it. It was from the video of his first return from treatment that I knew it's not Buhari. I downloaded it, watched it several times. That man they used is even different from the current one. It's really so sad what people can do to stay in power. People are afraid to talk because they don't want to be arrested, jailed or killed. Well, you will still die anyway. It's better to die a hero than to live as a coward. But when God has a purpose for your life, nobody can cut it short before it's time. God, please have mercy on Nigeria and deliver us from this fraudulent and evil government.

I laughed with the man, kept quiet on who I am supporting.
The truth is that APC campaigns more to the Mekunus than the online fighters. In the Southwest here, they are embarking on door to door campaign. PDP are only campaigning online.
How many Almajiris de online. How many agberos, Keke napepe, bike men, market women de online. Most eligible voters with PVC are not online. They are common people.
This people you just mentioned are the ones mostly affected by this failed government. They are vulnerable to easily succumb to any party willing to offer them a little stipend so they can cast their vote. Why did APC rally failed in ABUJA? There are less of such people in Abuja. APC is capitalizing on the poverty stricken situation and joblessness to win their hearts with the little gifts they offer. And that is what they will try to do on election day. They will induce voters with money. But cameras are everywhere. This time, it will backfire.

'Christians' were not killed during Jonathan's era abi? Keep deceiving yourselves. Your pastors play with your lazy minds and have made you almost replace God with them.
They were but he made efforts to protect them that resulted in the arrest of many Boko Haram. But instead of Buhari to arrest the killers, he is releasing them and even give them money in the name of negotiations. His accomplice, El Rufai is paying terrorists instead of arresting them. This is the kind of government you want. Stop deceiving yourself. You think you can wipe out Christianity in Nigeria. God is on the throne and he will fight the battle for us. Only foolish Christians will still support a government that has no value for them. Not one Christian is his security cabinet.

Is Atiku a reverend Bishop?
I don't know him too well to trust he won't permit the same thing under his watch. But at least, I know who Buhari is and he is not ready to protect the lives of Christians as much as he protects his cows.
