Firstly your claim about paying for the meter back in 2012 sounds really dubious because this prepaid meter payment started three or four years ago max.
However, by saying that it's reasonable for the masses to pay almost 70k for a device that is truly worth far less than half of that price shows you off as lacking a capacity to think rationally.
You feel because you paid 35k(as you claim) then it's okay for people to be fleeced into paying 70k today?
You are selfish and unreasonable.

Typical inability of some of us Nigerians to apply common sense, be rational and honest. It's difficult to see a lot of people with these virtues.

What is this individual ranting about. Estimated billing is a necessity, it's needed because if you decide to allow people without meters consume power for free, there will be an uproar by those with meters, and rightly so because it's unfair.

Issue estimated bills, but don't issue criminal and prohibitive bills to people, it's just wicked and unconscionable.

It takes me about 4 to 5 weeks to consume 3k worth of electricity via my meter, but when i did not have meter, those soulless demons used to throw 12k monthly at me to pay. Imagine how crazy that is? So in an ideal situation where i should be paying about 36k to 40k max a year, i was paying about 144k to 150k a year.
Is that not crazy?
Discos should issue estimated bills to people, but they should come out with a flat price estimate for people, and it should be at a very fair price. If they are feeling grumpy about it, then it will motivate them to supply more meters to those who need it.

Take a leaf from the western world, or even some African countries, do you see them post screenshots like this in their news or media platform? You would rarely see that.

This is just too much and I hope one or 2 people on this platform can change and desist from this.

The direction your criticism is pointed to is vague. You should make it clearer to put your point across. You should mention the management, or publisher, or moderators of the NL organization. They are the ones that can control and ensure that stuff like this doesn't appear on their site. Direct your admonition properly. If you are bothered about your fellow bloggers posting such images, you are wasting your time.

I use to wonder why people keep gory pictures and videos on their phones.

In as much as i condemn these continued barbaric methods we use in this country when "alleged" robbers or criminals are caught where they are tortured and brutalised and set on fire, I think it's important for pictures of those acts to be taken so that we as a people should keep up to date the extent to which our morals and sense of humanity has degenerated.

Acts like this one prove why we are not much better than beasts of the field in this country.
If in 2019 we civilians are still torturing, setting ablaze and executing alleged criminals, then we are not ready to come to the light and advance as a people and as a country.

It's so sad and i pray for divine fortitude for the little girl to overcome this tragedy.
But i must say that the late professor's wife is obviously vain for posting this pic.
The little girl did not ask for, nor does she need this exposure. The only priority for the widow now is to be a rock for the girl and help her through this difficult time.
The prof was not popular, he was not a celeb the little girl was not known either and had her privacy and annonimity intact, then her own mother uses this tragedy to thrust her into the spotlight? Its just a silly act by the widow.
Even the most famous people on earth shield their kids from the media when tragedy strikes.
The woman really messed up.
