mmsen: Jerusalem exists within an apartheid state that persecutes the native Muslim population.
It is one of the prime flash points of discrimination and inter-religious conflict on the planet, not just between Muslim and Christian but also between the various Christian groups - such is the division that Muslims keep the keys to some of the prime Christian tourist sites. There are conflicts among christians even in Jerusalem but at least they dont go about killing themselves. |

handsomeclouds: Keep twisting the words of the Qur'an by highlighting just a part to suit you. well even all the battles the prophet fought were defensive battle, not the case of first attack. after the prophet had migrated, the unbelievers heard the religion was still thriving. these unbelievers gathered to attack him there, that was the reason for his battle. DoctorAlien: "Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of GOD." 1 Cor. 7:19
The people of GOD keep His Holy Sabbath, which is one of His commandments. See Rev. 12:17; 14:12
Moreover, Jesus instructs us never to break the law, or to teach men to do so. Matt. 5:17-19.
Moreover, you always misquote Paul just to lend credence to your choice of disobeying GOD's commandments. So, can you explain Gal. 3:19, knowing fully well that where there is no law, there is no transgression(Rom. 4:15)?
In essence, it is obvious that a law was added because of transgressions, and that that law was to be until Christ. What law was that which was added because of transgressions? The transgression of what? When was the law added? where Did i mis quote paul? oya open col 2:16 what do u see there? |

Christ is, in fact, the GOD of the Old Testament. It was He who descended upon Sinai is unspeakable glory, and spoke the 10 Commandments. If this is understood, John 14:15 and Matt. 5:17-19 would be understood better. Follow the link below for an exposition on the identity of the GOD of the Old Testament.

Stop reading Roman Catholic-edited "Bible versions". The catholic church edited their own Bible and removed the second commandment, which forbids making and bowing down to graven images. I hope u know u have lied? please give us the name of the catholic edition that removed a commandment. oya do it quick. |
Christianity Etc › Re: The Shocking Jesuit Oath by Ubenedictus(m): 6:37pm On Jan 28, 2017 |
Splinz: Hmm. Is it really that difficult to understand? Well, let me explain it to you.
1. The first commandment bars/forbeits having any other god except GOD.
2. The second commandment is the express prohibition of making carved images of any form, whether it is Jesus Christ who dwells in heaven above, or Mary who is in her grave on earth below or anything in the waters. This second commandment also forbids worshiping or bowing down to such an idol, as done in the Catholic church.
So in summary: 1. God forbids having any other god besides Him. 2. God forbids worshiping or bowing down to graven images of any form. This is because He says He will not share His praise with idols (Isaiah 42: .
Is it clear now i hope u are against all form of sculpture? |

DoctorAlien: In Exod. 20:8-11 is given the guideline for keeping the Sabbath holy; no secular work was to be done. We don't work for money on the Sabbath. It is a day dedicated to communing with GOD and doing good to our fellow man(like relieving both their physical and spiritual problems), hence Christ's healing on the Sabbath. Christ did not do secular work on the Sabbath day. God knew a day like this will come that is why he inspired paul to write the following in the bible Col 2:16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a SABBATH day.* God put an end to ur arguement long ago. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Was Peter A Pope? by Ubenedictus(m): 8:32am On Jan 28, 2017 |
DoctorAlien: The Book of Acts is the history of the early Church up until a few years before Peter's death. It says nothing about Peter being in authority over the whole Church. It shows no connection between Peter and Rome.
Acts 28:14-15 tells how Paul met with the "brethren" in Rome, but it makes no mention of Peter. As we shall see, when Paul met with Peter in Jerusalem, Peter was identified by name.
Acts 2:14 and Acts 8:14 say that Peter was in Jerusalem. Acts 9:36-43 says that Peter went to Joppa, which is near Jerusalem. In chapter 10 of the Book of Acts, Peter is still in Joppa. Acts 11:2 says that Peter returned to Jerusalem.
Joppa is about thirty miles from Jerusalem. If the Book of Acts records this much detail about Peter's visit to a nearby town, wouldn't it tell us if Peter went all the way to Rome? Particularly since it does tell us that Paul went to Rome. Did u miss the fact that the story of peter ended in act 11? |

Splinz: Do you believe there's only one true church according to Scriptures?
Anyways, like I told someone already, if you believe there's such a Church, seek for it diligently and you'll surely find. As a clue to help you, the true Church is kept in the Father's name (John 17:12) and lives according to every word that comes out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4). And lastly, the true Church is completely out of the world (John 17:16)- it's customs, traditions and false knowledge. This Church is sanctified- set apart, in the truth (John 17:17).
These clues should help you know what to look out for. I was never told there's such a church, God in His mercies led me to it. HeHehe |

johnydon22: i admire some of the philosophies of the character Jesus as seen in the synoptic gospels, it is also undeniable that there are also within the words attributed to Muhammed in the Quran really profound words of decent wisdom - even though i disagree with their beliefs some of which i find lunatic.
but we are not here to judge their characters, it was a weak clutch at digression... the actions of a lot forms the major basis of their image not what they feel they believe.
beliefs makes nobody good or bad, actions does. so calling on us to point at the scripture for charges of violence for Christians was a very absurd reply, i dont understand if that was meant as an excuse that Christians dont also met out aggressive violent actions at others or was it meant to serve as a denial? Actually if both religion says the leaders should be imitated then their lives are important. belief inform action. If u re taught killin is beautiful then u probably wil enjoy it |

radical Christianity has been as aggressive as radical Islam and you cannot dispute that, therefore I see no reason why you cannot present your arguments without being spiteful and resorting to insults - I do not know you so surely do not feel the need to start exchanging personal remarks and insults with you.
next time, bring your arguments, not your insults, we understand you know how to indulge in hateful insulting emotional banters but some of us are above the puerile level. Thank u for avoiding banter, that is d next step to bashing. the question is where does d violence come from? human nature or religious teaching? |
Islam › Re: Is Islam Inherently Peace Or Violent? by Ubenedictus(op): 7:27pm On Jan 26, 2017 |
annunaki2: To answer your question, yes Islam is intrinsicly violent. The prophet of Islam was a very violent man and during his lifetime he organised and executed over a hundred military expeditions with the purpose of forcefully converting people to islam(jihad) and also looting of caravans to raise funds to finance his military campaigns. He ordered several violent acts including the beheading of 900 Jews in one day. He was clearly an extremely violent man.
Were the problem now lies is that the quoran describes mohamed as the "best of mankind" and it enjoins all muslims to emulate him. It therefore means to be a good Muslim you must emulate mohammed who was an extremely violent character thus making islam an inherently violent religion. Can we prove this allegations? can u take them one by one and prove them. the koran admonishes muslim to follow the prophet in all things? |
