uboma: The Bible verses I quoted earlier already defined what idolatry means. So if you still do not understand what idolatry means or you prefer to feign ignorance, then I advise that you pick up your Dictionary if you have access to one and look up the meaning. Feel free to share what you learn from the meaning of idolatry. I'll love to read your comments.
bible passages can be interpreted and misinterpreted, what do you understand by d passage u quoted, exegesis i think it is called. If you are using a dictionary then please tell me which one. At least it is known that bible throwing never ends an arguement, scriptures must be interpreted.

My dear uboma,
before you accuse abt 1bn people of idolatry, pls do well to tell us: what is idolatry? If i accuse you of stealing i must be able to prove that you have took something that isn't urs without d implicit or explicit consent of d owner and even contrary to his wish.
To lay a basis for the accusation, pls define idolatry.
Thanks.

striktlymi: I am not sure about your reason for asking Aladin to keep away from that argument but I quite agree with you. I don't believe our Blessed Mother was preserved from the stain of Original sin just because it would keep Christ away from that sin.

Christ is God and can do all things logically possible. He can decide to keep himself free from Original sin without cleansing our Lady first. So I believe there is more to our Lady's immaculate conception than just preserving Christ from Original sin.
here is another reason.

POPE II: In my archdiocese's newspaper they said Anglican rite
i am of d opinion dat ur archdiocese's paper should be corrected. Ben16 was very precise and specific he kept on repeating 'use' and never wrote rite. Anyway my opinion.

Edit
POPE II: can you please elaborate?
POPE II: can you please elaborate?
if it was absolutely necessary dat mary b concieved without sin else Jesus would contact sin then we are in trouble becos dat priciple can be continuously applied ad infinitum and it would defeat d idea of a singular purpose. If i apply dat principle it means dat 4 mary to b free frm sin her moda anna must b free as well.
Christianity Etc › Re: A Thread For Catholics by Ubenedictus(m): 9:06am On Dec 10, 2013
It is not yet called d anglican rite, it is called d anglican use and it allows anglicans who are converting to retain distinct elements of their unique patrimony. Ben16 initiated it and it is totally inline with the decrees of vatican 2. I wish to inform you that celibacy isn't a requirement for d priest universally, it is only an ancient discipline dat has been kept by d latin and western rites ONLY. The greek, antiochen, marionite, syromalabar...catholic rites all have married clegy, marriage is forbiden 4 dem only after ordination. So if ben16 found it good to dispense d anglican use clegy from celibacy, it is totally in line wit apostolic tradition. Beside d anglican clegy who is converted and ordained can't divorce his wife, we dnt blive in divorce.

facebook
PROOF OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION
A good sister asked for proof of the validity of
the immaculate conception dogma.
I briefly replied :
Evidence is simply that God dwells in the
holiest of places and if he ever came into the
womb of Mary (which he did), he must have
prepared it free from every stain of sin. Her
womb, like heaven became unstained with
even the slightest taint of original or actual
sin.
Again if Jesus were to save us from sin, he
too would not be affected by original sin. If
Mary were affected by original sin, then Christ
too would have suffered this too and would
therefore be unable to save Us since he
himself would be in this sin with us.
However
if Christ would save he needed be outside this
pit of sin to draw us away from it. And Mary's
immaculate conception was a way for Christ
to be free from this sin and be in good
position to draw us from it.
Plus, he also has revealed this truth to the
Church over the years. I hope this suffices.
God bless you.

i'm i correct?
keep away from d bolded arguement

POPE II: How as in ? What I'm going to tell to a non believer?
Without searching erm immaculate conception means Mary was conceived without the original sin and was already blessed in the womb .basically the absolute t purity of our mother queen of the heaven smiley wink
yeah but some points missing.

Without searching d net,
define, immaculate conception.
2. How would you support d dogma from scripture and tradition.
Christianity Etc › Re: A Thread For Catholics by Ubenedictus(m): 8:47am On Dec 09, 2013
striktlymi: I believe there is more to Sacred scriptures than meets the eyes. A number of things written in it will remain mysteries until the day when all things will be revealed.

If your question is whether God can wrath such extraordinary works then my answer would have been in the affirmative because God can do all that is logically possible. If he can suspend the Earth in space then parting the Red sea would be a very small task.

On the other hand, if your question is more inclined to asking whether the events actually happened as it is stated in Sacred scriptures then my answer would be: I do not know!

The only way I can know for sure is when the Church makes an official pronouncement and defines whatever scriptural passage as an article of faith. Until then, everyone is welcomed to speculate based on their personal faith.
where have you been?

Christ our redeemer, you made the blessed Mary the sanctuary of your presence and the temple of the spirit; make us bearer of your spirit in heart, mind and body.
Amen

*snoring* italo and co thanks for fulfilling all righteousness, it seems i don't thrive well in arguements like these, discussing with one who has closed his mind is like pouring water in the dark. Prayer work better in those cases than debating. Anyway well done

italo: Remember, you're talking to the man who preaches that there are 2 gospels. Jesus' gospel and Paul's.

Also that there are 2 Jesuses. The heavenly one and the earthly one.

It seems he has extended it to God. The God of Israel and the God of the Church.

Somebody sing: "Everything na double double..." grin
hehehehe, italo, easy!
Christianity Etc › Re: Defend Catholic Teachings Here by Ubenedictus(m): 1:22am On Nov 27, 2013
What are you talking about?
truthislight: "You adulterers and adulteresses, do you not know that the friendship with the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God." (James 4:4).
...............

Use that ^ to assess christ, christ aposles and then also use it to assess your inffallible Popes and tell me more that i dont know.

Infallible indeed!
what do you understand by the infallibility of the pope?
Christianity Etc › Re: Defend Catholic Teachings Here by Ubenedictus(m): 1:20am On Nov 27, 2013
This thread can give one a headache. Before you guys start condemning papal infallibility. Please tell me what do you understand when catholics say the pope may be infallible. If we can all agree on exactly what papal infallibility is only then can we trully condemn it or defend it. If you want us to defend something please do us the favour of defining what you want us to defend. Please!

Is it not that @Italo will not answer questions but rather keeps asking others if they are infellible ?
blame throwing won't lead the thread anywhere.

@italo and woky una never still finish for here? @JMOS it is actually contented that the historical moses wrote the 5 books ascribed to him. But that aside when those books were written that which is certain is that they were inspired, but in an of themselves they didn't constitute the canon, and more importantly they were written before christ and didn't become part of the christian canon until years latter.
