Christianity Etc › Re: Biblical Interpretations On Homosexuality. by Ubenedictus(m): 3:44pm On Mar 03, 2013
I expected this, u must certain lash back with all the venom u can muster.
I'm a christian and a scientist, i didn't cause animals to be homosexual i only study d animals and take a look at d research of other scientist.
truthislight: which truth?
the truth that some animals have transgender qualities and may be homosexuals.
Are you trying to justify why catholic priest are homosexual?
hahaha, i knew u would say this and my ansa in No. Not all priests in d cath church are homosexual though homosexuals has found their way into the priesthood. Actually i see no reason to defend d said priest. They as suppose to be chaste.

yes it means exactly that,
That it is according to nature.
how unreasonable of you.
that it is a default in creation/design.
Justifying the practice.
u see you have totally misunderstood even d bible! Who told u dat d present nature is natural? Open ur bible and read about adams sin and u will see it had an effect on creation. After adam's sin creation wasn't perfect so i have no problem with the fact that homosexuals can be found among humans. Take this passage as homework Rm 8:22-24
we know that the whole of creation has been groaning in travail together until now and not only creation but we ourselves who have the first fruit of the spirit, groan inwardly as we wait for the adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we are saved creation isn't yet redeemed until our bodies are redeemed i.e d ressurection. Until then he who uses d natural only as a rule is in trouble.

moredendisc: @Goshen360

grin My brother you are teacher . . .

Don't put the cart before the horse, so teach with explanations smiley

How can you dive straight into Justification without tackling Justice or Just first

Just, this essence of God is a key ingredient to understanding Justification and all/any intricacies that surrounds it

Understanding justice or God's position as a Just God paves the way to appreciate the dynamics of Justification, the evolution, the process, the importance and the run of it

Why does one need to be declared right before the Lord? (i.e. be pardoned and cleared of any violation)

How did God go about making this a reality or go about making it possible?

If intending to guide the thought, then I believe this path should be thread first . . .
i good part, but very long.
Christianity Etc › Re: @Goshen360: Justification - A Discourse I'd Like You To Consider. by Ubenedictus(m): 3:09pm On Mar 03, 2013
Goshen360: Okay. We will begin digging this subject of Justification this week. Are y'all ready. I can see our brother moredendisc and Ihedinobi warming up with our sister ATMC, getting ready to jump in. Y'all welcome. First, we need to understand what justification means or is, then we can fly. Justification is NOT sanctification and NOT Glorification. All three are distinct one from the other. The question that then follow AFTER understand what each means is, how are we justified?

Justification is a legal declaration of being declared not guilty. It is a pronouncement of being cleared the guilt. When one is justified, he is declared right before the Lord; he is pardoned and cleared of any violation. It speaks of a declaration that gives us, Christians a right standing before God. It is a one time event involving an imputed righteousness of Christ in which we, although we are sinners, are pronounced "not guilty" of sin as in a court of law. We are cleared of any charges against us. Christ's sacrifice means he was punished in our place, satisfying the demands of the law, and God's justice upon sin.

New International Version (©1984)
Therefore, since we have been justifIED through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, - Romans 5:1

King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.)
Much more then, being now justifIED by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. - Romans 5:9

Sanctification on the other hand, is a continuous process that conforms us through the work of the Holy Spirit into the image of Christ whereby we separate ourselves unto Christ's service. Sanctification commences with our justification. Hence, the fruit of the Spirit is evidence in our sanctification.

New International Version (©1984)
But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because from the beginning God chose you to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. - 2 thess. 2:13

Glorification. This is the completion of our Christian life on earth, at the end of the sanctification process and occurs when we get to Heaven. The completion of our Christian walk IN Christ is to be glorified, which is the end result of our salvation and it is future glory of the believer IN Christ.

New International Version (©1984)
And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
New Living Translation (©2007)
And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory. - Romans 8:30
while i love your exposition, i'll asked from what passage did u deduce that u are justified once and for all.
Correct me if i misunderstood your position.

prettyirene: I was born into a catholic family, immediately my dad died at my tender age, we left the catholic church. My point is that I have gone round and the truth is that there is power in the catholic church, the catholic church prepares you whole I.e physically, spritually and mentally. How many pentecostal church provide affordable schools, healthcare for their members and even when they do, it's so expensive that even their members cannot afford. I'm married now to a non catholic but I still attend the catholic church. The church teaches you how to pray round the clock. Going to mass, saying your rosary, the angelus, divine mercy prayer every 3pm, and reading the scriptures. Seeking intercessory prayers thru your patron saints like ST Rita (saint of the impossible) and st Homobonus (patron saint for business owners). Spirituality is personal I find spiritual fulfilment in the catholic church. Like I said earlier on I HAVE Seen it all. You name it Redeem,MFM, anglican. None like the CATHOLIC FAITH
i could swear i've heard all d names of saints, but suprisingly i just heard a new one st homobonus, is it 4 real?

For those argueing about trinity: this thread has nothing to do with trinity. So pls touch d subject and move on.

frosbel2: Yes Bro ( Did I just call you Bro grin ) !
There are those who are really doing the work of GOD with all their hearts and minds, with no desire for material gain or wealth, we MUST and should support such, not through tithes but gifts and financial support.
We agree !
amen!
U are really shocked to say 'bro'. Lol

frosbel2: The Pastor needs to get a JOB, Paul worked etc.

The Church is not a welfare state for just anybody, it is to meet the needs of the needy , not the rich.
now take this one easy, i know u are against tithe and all but the above is a bit offline, paul worked and set an example that the presbyter can work for his own sustainence but paul never preached that the presbyter MUST work. Instead paul himself taught that the christian community should contribute to d support of the minister.

While exposing d fact that tithing isn't for the xtians do not confuse it with the legit care for the prebyter dat the bible agrees with.
Thanks.

For those of you who for one reason or the other are unable to make it to church on Sundays, you can be forgiven for this, but just so you don't miss out on the opportunity to bring a tenth of your offerings to the Lord, I will be setting up an e-payment account where you could forward your payments for onward passage to the Lord of Hosts. blocker: If you are looking for trinity, christmas, easter Reverend or even 25th December then you will be missing the mark because we Catholics are guided by the traditions as handed by the Apostles the bible (compiled 300 years after the death of Christ)only confirms what the Church teaches. If you say there is no Trinity because it wasn't found in the bible then you would equally wonder why Jesus did not hold a bible when preaching or from the bible (which you say is your only authority)proove that Jesus wrote a page or book while on earth or proove that Jesus said we can learn all his teachings in a single book (written by different men, written in more than 6 languages by men who lived hundreds of years apart such as Moses and Paul) bound by many chapters 300 years after the death of Christ(compiled by the Roman Catholic Church). For the records even historians studying the world's religions (including protestants)will tell you in over 2000 years the teachings of the Catholic Church has not changed.Trinity may not be written in the bible but Catholics are not alone in this belief (see the Apostles creed prayer also said by Anglicans, Methodists and Presbyterians). The belief in the holy written is based on faith not literal written proof because it is a mystery.

Vado: Thank you bro for educating them. God's explicit words of no graven images is so clear. Disobidience in that regard spells nothing but spiritual condemnation even it was meant to glorify or please Christ or Jehova himself.

I'm even more puzzled by the fact that even the catholic or any other church for that matter can't prove what Jesus or Mary actually looked like with all these images. They just mold a human with a meek-looking appearance and start bowing to such as a mark of respect. Good intention I must say but it's still idolatry because those things are made of mere mortals. Relationship with God through Jesus is spiritually based. All these images, symbolism like crucifix, rosary etc to me are off no importance to attaining spiritual righteousness.

Mary was a normal human like every other mothers out there. Her chasteness and the need for Christ to come in that era and in human form neccessitated her being chosen. This doesn't mean there are no women as pure as she was in this present day. If the first-coming of Christ was meant to be in this century for instance, another Mary would have been chosen to serve as a pathway.

And in re-enforcing what someone said earlier, the only church is the body of Christ which all born-again christians are parts of. Ain't nuffin like a mother church just as there's nothing like a mother-heaven or mini-hell.
if you read the previous page you will notice that i clearly stated that this thread doesn't concern mary or idolatry. Pleas do not derail the thread, it concerns pope and conclave anything outside that, make ur own thread.

Boomark: ^Christ is not an enemy of the church he rebuked in revelation. Paul is not an enemy to Peter he rebuked. Boomark is not an enemy to catholics he rebuke. I speak against idol worship.

@ubenedictus

You don't fellowship with God you worship Him. You only fellowship with fellow servants.

In the land of Cana, during the wedding, Mary went to people that are ignorant of Christ and told them to go to Christ and do as he command them, Jn 2:5.

She received nothing on their behalf but they, who do not know Christ were sent to him by Mary for them to have a personal relationship with him and get to know the Son of God.

It is erroneous and embarrassing for a Christian to base his doctrine on one act of ignorance found in the bible.

shout protestant from now till tomorrow it will not help you. Start learning your fatal errors from the protestants. Humility in this regard will lead you to Christ and what he wants.

This is a teaching, not a fight.
hahaha, i just taught u dat i dont fellowship with christ alone and my bible bears witness. where is d bibo quotation dat say followship with christ and not the saints, if and wen u have such a passage we will have something to discuss. till then heb has shown that the xtian experience include fellowshiping with angels and saints, if u are not doing that then u are missing much.
in d bolded u unconciously agreed that mary can show d way to christ as she did at canna.

thelastPope: You mean a list from the roman catholic? Is the list from the bible? Was there any such reference from the bible? Were christians ever leaders in society or people hunted because of their beliefs?

The dark ages ended with the renaisance which was heavily triggered by martin luther's translation of portions of the bible to the german language. That isn't myth. It is fact. It was a crime to read the scriptures during those dark ages of history. It was a sin against the roman catholic institution to print the bible. King james printed the bible in total defiance to the roman catholic with the help of the puritans. These are historical facts you can't fault no matter how much you try. Martin luther was dealt with for writing his 99 thesis and standing against rome which caused a big riot in germany that spread accross Europe. That was the begining of the renaisance. Christians were murdered and hunted for centuries by rome. The spanish inquisition and many other crusades litter history. You want me to go on?

I am not necessarily against you practising your roman catholic religion but you equate it to the same thing handed over by the Lord Jesus when it is not. Most of what you practise is direct opposite of scriptures. But you are free to do your thing.
u havent provided a single proof. u are just making niose. nero was never a xtian talkless of pope.

thelastPope: The pope is he emperor of the roman empire who woke up one day and claimed he is now the head of the church. Jesus nor his disciples never created such a position. No one can take the place of Christ. He is the head and everyone else who have received him as Lord and savior is a member of the body. You are free to believe what you believe but it is not from Jesus or Peter or any of the apostles. Nero was the first pope.
why not provide historical proof? if ur claim has any sense then u shuld provide proof.
Christianity Etc › Re: Cardinal Sodano Summons Cardinals To Rome by Ubenedictus(op): 10:34am On Mar 03, 2013
thelastPope: Neither Peter nor any of the apostles were catholic. They were actually hunted and killed by the catholics/romans. Emperor Nero was the first pope. He merged the church and state to destroy christianity. The catholics only claim peter was the first pope to try and give it legitimacy. During the early reign of the catholic church, it was a crime punishable by death to read the scriptures. You were only permitted to read the cathecism. Martin luther was the first to translate the scriptures for public consumtion. The disciples and apostles were hounded for centuries by the catholic church. The history is there in the open.
