What about the corrupt in APC, are they now saint? Corruption should not be regional, emotional and political. All the structure used in fighting corruption today were the work of the PDP govt...

Today, Ameachi is not corrupt while Wike is... Is that a serious war aganist corruption? As I speak, numerous charges brought aganist Sambo Dasuki has been finally brought to four, while even the four charges lacks evidence to nail him, yet he has not be freed. What about the Nnamdi Kanu and the Ekiti state lawmakers who are abused using military men everyday, is that not corruption?

In term of prospect, pls go for mechanical engineering if you have opportunity. In multinational company they hire more engineers, infact banks prefer hiring engineer, in reseach, you can only do research in your field, in master stuff, they can only allow engineer to do science course but not science to do engineering course. With statistics you will end up in teaching, lecturing, bank or civil service.

QED... Let me also refer them to job vancancy sites. Please check the last NNPC, SHELL, CHEVRON, etc job advert to see whether you'll see a position for mathematics

I really love the way you made the analogy simple... If I were those people who studied mathematics, I'll just go for Ph.d and start lecturing or better still get an employment in secondary schools. Even in secondary school self, teachers teaching engineering related courses are very few, ask the Corp members

I am an Engineer and will never brag that I am better than a Mathematician in his field. Engineers are only exposed to applied mathematics. All mathematics courses in engineering curriculum have their applications in engineering analysis, otherwise they will be irrelevant. Mathematicians on the other hand study both pure and applied maths. Pure maths is best defined as mathematics for the sake of mathematics; no aplication in focus (though outcomes may be applied later, some findings may be purely theoretical and exist only for aesthetics ). Examples of these pure mathematics topics are Groups and Rings, Real Analysis, Complex Analysis, Functional Analysis, Calculus of variation, Lesbeque measure and theory of integration etc. Honestly I was sleeping uncontrollably when I picked one of those Advanced Mathematics textbook to read some of these topics. Most Engineers will also sleep or end up with migraine trying to figure out the essence of the concepts in those topics as an Engineering mind is trained to do.

The argument now boils down to which is more difficult? Pure or applied maths? Pure mathematics (mathematics in itself) is more difficult. In fact, all mathematics are pure until their useful application is found.

Another thing is when you compare same topics in Engineering mathematics textbooks of K. Stroud and Glyn James with that of textbooks written by pure mathematicians like H.D. Kass and Kreyzig, you'll have a better perspective of why an Engineer should never claim to be a Mathematician.

My question is, between this two disciplines who do better when It comes to mathematics when compared? Or when they offer those aforementioned courses together, who does better?

For your information, It's not all Engineering Mathematics courses that a lecturer from !ath dept takes. Beside, in the engineering courses themselves have lots of solvings to b done without even dealing with them in mathematics.

Back then, I first did Laplace transformation from my electrical courses even fourier series.

Please ask your lecturer this "That between the engineering student and a math student who does well in mathematics?" It's an assignment

Lol i cant seem to wrap dis idea how Engineering students think or act lik they do/know mathematics aspect more dan those who spend all their freaking lecture hours solving am Pure Mathematics student nd an engineering student came to me today saying "am wastin my time doin pure maths that dey (engineering) are equal to mathematicians plus dey hav added engineering knowledge. I was lik wtf, suite urself, i kno why i chose mathematics over engineering during JAMB. Am not a foool.
Engineering students brag to be all rounder but i refuse to accept an engineer can replace a mathematican except in a useless country lik nigeria

Ask your lecturers why they love lecturing engineering students than their own students. Back then in school, you see Mech eng and Elect/Elect Eng students blasting 90-98 in any mathematics courses except statistics where they gets 60-70.

Engineering students are sharper! I rep Electrical Engineering!

Some years back... Some preacher came around and started saying that "If you're a Christian and you still worship God in the church on Sunday and not Saturday, you're a sinner and you're doomed for hell." It almost resulted to an argument because they also used the scripture and their backup and said "Thou shal keep the sabbath day holy"

...I then opened Mark 2 and we started reading, after reading verse 27 and 28, I said to them "Man is a Lord over the sabbath." The sabbath day should not be an issue here if man has been made Lord over the sabbath. In as much Sunday have been officially declared a Worship, So be It since Man is a Lord over the sabbath

If you also see Saturday as the sabbath day, It's also wonderful, the most important thing there is to seek the face of God and So long you have peace of mind, there's no problem

The only thing I disagree with is "When you say Sunday or Saturday is the sabbath day and if you worship otherwise, you're a sinner." This mindset is very wrong. Which day you preferred, you're right. God still moves heavily in Saturdays Churches and also on Sunday

Christianity is not a religion, It's a way of life...

There are many reasons why one pays for the JAMB number and also go for regularization. JAMB regularization is to actually acknowledge the fact that you have be given an admission in a particular university/POLYTECHNIC to study a particular course

To go about this is very simple. Go to a Cyber cafe which have a biometric data captioned machine, with a passport photograph and make sure you're with you jamb no. All you need to do is to tell them you want to don the JAMB regularization exercise and they will and after the process, your admission status will be change from no admission yet to Admission given.

If one has the biometric machine or finger print machine, you can even do It yourself provided you have a laptop/desktop computer and an internet connection. All you just need to do is to login to JAMB website and regularize your admission status. This exercise is not more 20mins

For your information, Niger Deltians are strong and couragous people, despite the fact that they've been neglected for decades, they're still in charge of 'Real Agriculture...' Findout about the biggest oil palm's Farms in Nigeria and their locations. Even with the environmental decade, we still Farm, Fish... The best water melon and cocumba presently in Nigeria are cultivated in the Niger Delta.

The Niger Deltians are also leading in terms of Rubber Plantations, Vegetables, etc... We are never lazy like the others...

How many Niger Deltians Owns Oil blocks? Between the Niger Deltians and the others, who depends on the oil most?

No, it wasn't APC or anybody fault that Jonathan subsidy removal backfired.

I could remember back in late 2011 NLC, TUC and other stakeholders were
holding meeting with FG on how to remove the subsidy.

They held series of meeting NLC, TUC, other stakeholders and FG which
ran into late December. Then the stakeholders were already cooperating
with FG on the removal and modality it will take.

And more importantly the stakeholders with FG have concluded then
to educate Nigerians the benefits of removing the subsidy.

The meeting was inconclusive in 2011, so the stakeholders and FG
agreed to continue the meeting by 2012.

Surprisingly the FG on Jan. 2 announced removal of subsidy without
reaching conclusion with the stakeholders.

This was how Jonathan administration shot himself in the foot,
hence the protest tagged "Occupy Nigeria".

In as much i support Buhari administration and subsidy removal, the FG
must talk with all the stakeholders on how and modality the removal
must take.

Also they must educate Nigerians the benefits of subsidy removal.

Buhari government should not repeat or replay Jonathan administration
mistakes.

If GEJ govt did not educate Nigerian on the removal of subsidy, how come It was finally left on #87/Litre? Secondly, what orientation has this present govt given to Nigerians before planning the removing of fuel subsidy come this January 2016? Lastly, is there any difference between the reasons GEJ gave and the one IBE KACHIKWU is given?

NLC got it twisted. Removal of subsidy is not a deliberate attempt by the Govt to make Nigerians suffer. Nigeria is paying too much for subsidy. We can use the money for other infrastructural projects ie Transport. Removal of subsidy is for the benefit of Nigerians pls. Sometimes I think the leadership of NLC aren't transparent and their call for strikes are not born out of genuine intention for the masses but rather of service for some cabals.

Were you in this country during Jonathan's regime? Ask PMB and the APCs their role in organising meaningless protest using the NLC as a major tool...

Nobody in this govt saw reasons to remove subsidy then. So why the sudden change?

That was not applicable in our own LG. The bank told us that there's no problem about that. Infact we filled the form in the LG. My friends who were posted to same PPA have all be sent acct number.

Anyway, like you said, I will know the next step when I get to my LG

I'm a 2015 batch B scream 1 corp member serving in Ogun state. After my registration in the LG and with the bank (Unity bank) respectively, my PPA told me to travel and come back in January to resume fully... The bank I did filled form with told us to go home, that they will send us our account number via a text message (This was after the account form have been filled and submitted)... Up till now they never did. So, I decided to call my LI. ...After explaining to her, she told me "to be patient with the bank that they're still sending accounts..." Uptill now, I'm still waiting... I also mailed the bank but did not reply.

The current 2015 batch b corp members have been paid their December alawee. Hope I can still be paid upon resumption January 2016?

I just needed an answer from fellow corp members and those who have been in this same situation before. Merry Chrismas to you all!
