I sugested that okija makes the plea to the tribunal himself and not u, the commisioner making the plea for him. I was generous enough to give him a 24hr frame.
Rather, he made a press release to capture the mind of the naive, thereby sealing his fate.
HE STANDS DISQUALIFIED!

As regards to Okija's disqualification. . .
Right b4 his disqualification, while he was stil lamenting about sections in the by-laws, aimed at disqualifying him, i adviced him to quit playing the victim card and bring up his case to the tribunal for us to access it. He told me point blank that we the tribunal have no such powers to overturn rulings and address issues. He pulled up some sections of the by-laws for me. So i let him be.
How will i solicite a case where the aggrieved feels i've got no such powers to address the issue? My hands are tied.
Any soliciting on this case 'MUST' be filed by okija within 24hrs, we the tribunal will give him a fair hearing, this case cannot be tried in absentia. Okija should be present, that is if hes interested in appealing his disqualification.

Meanwhile, i feel u ended the nomination too early. It would have been ideal to wait till this thread gets to frontpage to allow most igbos participate and for the succesful nominees to accept/reject their nomination. Someone was already tagging it 'politics section eze igbo election'.
The mods think october is too early for an election, thats why its yet to make a frontpage.
Therefore, i'm of the opinion that the nomination continues.
If this idea is suported by anyother member of the tribunal, then we are of the majority and the nomination is extended. However, if the other 2 members reject the proposal, then the compiled result stands.

Donxavier: it could well be because of money and since it wasn't expressly stated what the cause of the breakup was, people have to assume. But the fact that she left him when he had no money does not mean there were other issues involved, she may have left cos he had no money.

a simple question, 'was he rich b4 the girl started dating him? U guys made it look like he was formaly rich, then he became broke prompting his girl to leave him.
I believe the girl left him for other reasons besides money, b'cos he wasnt rich when she started dating him.

No one has explicitly disqualified okija. If okija feels a section in the by-laws was purposely aimed at disqualifying him, he should direct his complains to we, the election tribunal. He should stop raising dust and seeking unnecesary sympathy from ndi igbo by playing the victim card.
This is an open system, the people's vote must count. If theres need for constitutional amendment, theres always a due process to follow.

Stale gist! As if we're not aware of why the mods and 'many' Nl climax at the sight of such headlines. Keep searching for latest crimes commited by igbos, google is ur friend, and the mods are there to ensure ur thread hits frontpage. Meanwhile, an important thread such as the on-going Eze igbo 2012 Nl online election is ignored at the politics section.

you are not alone in this school of thought. Eze Onlytruth has made this suggestion also. Speaking, not as a member of the electoral tribunal, but as ujchief, i'd say this is a sound idea. Our Eze has made a glaring observation and remark, we should accord him his due respect and oblige, PointB should resign as electoral officer and stand in for nomination.
Its obvious he took upon himself this duty for the interest of ndi igbo, and i also believe the same passion he has for interest of ndi igbo online community can make him a great Eze.
An electoral tribunal member can assume his current position, preferable afam4ever, and a female member apointed to complete us at the tribunal (ify or berem).
Lets make this important adjustment b4 this thread hits frontpage.

The one yr term for Eze is for the tenure, that is, each tenure must not exceed one calender year. However, you are stil fit and qualified to contest for a second tenure. Your humble decision not to continue in office is noted, but as u stated earlier, an igbo leader must consider igbos first b4 self, so let igbos decide if you must continue or not.
As a member of the tribunal and with powers vested on me by section C of the online guidline submitted by PointB, i posit that Eze Onlytruth is qualified for re-election and should skip nomination.
Other members of the tribunal will soon make submissions and we kick-start from there.
