Mrsglory:If you're pharmacy inclined, studying pharmacy should not be stressful to you. Art inclined students will be stressed out if they venture into science studies, vice versa. If you are admitted into studying something you don't have foundation for, you will experience great deal of stress. Those days in school, natural science (a general course) was a great deal for most students in non science departments. Likewise, social science (a general course) was a very big deal for science students. Do you understand my point now? |
It's funny how everyone of you think because it's education, it's easy. Laughable! Now let me make it clear to you. Being an Education student simply means that you study teaching methodologies of a particular field of learning. For example, if you're studying Education History, in addition to covering History curriculum, you equally cover Education curriculum. Somebody above is berating the study of History. If you're opportuned to study it, you might still end up with 3rd class. That Education is attached to it doesn't mean you won't cover all the aspects of the course which include, among others, History, archeology and international studies. The same way you all shout that school is stressful is the same way people in Education and every other faculty complain. To be candid, Education students have more work to do that their counterparts in other faculties. NCE students at some points do 24 to 27 courses per semester. I have discovered two reasons why many people complain of school stress. One is that they just join the bandwagon to justify their irresponsible attitude towards learning. The other is that they approach school with anxiety especially if they are studying courses that do not match their intelligence. How do you expect school not to be stressful when you're studying a course with O'level and JAMB results with results gotten from special centers? I mean, you couldn't pass your subjects at O'level without malpractice, and now you want school to be easy to you? I told you guys that I made a lot of money in school. How? One of the things I did was writing term papers and seminars for people. In social sciences, you hardly get questions that you can just go to internet and download the answers. Those of you in natural sciences, especially biology, you can easily download an answer from internet especially on theoretical subject matters. But that is not the case with social sciences where most questions are critically analytical. So must be able to think in practical ways to be able to put together something meaningful. Most students shouting "school is stressful" couldn't do such rigorous mental exercises because they apparently passed their O'level without effort. Let me stop here for now. |
Almost everybody complain of how stressful school is bla bla bla... Sometimes I'll just be asking myself: is it this same school all of us attended or is there something I'm missing? During my days in school, girls particularly always complained of stress. We attended lectures, had take-home assignments, did term papers and seminars and wrote exams by the end of the semesters. All these activities could be completed in just one month, but they are spread across several months, yet people say they are stressful. Sometimes I wondered why we did a semester from September till March doing 8-12 courses. Granted, some people had too many other engagements like sports, school politics, religious activities etc. But most of the people that always complained were those that do not take part in extra curricular activities; they still don't attend night classes. On my part, I went to school daily primarily to make money. I made a lot of money in school. I only attended lectures where it was impossible for someone else to write attendance for me (why should I sit down and be watching you read out materials I have already bought from you; uninteresting information I could easily get online?) I had no note throughout my stay in school. I paid no dime to any lecturer and I had only one carryover. Yet I came out with good grade. The curriculum is broken down in such a way that it should be easy for everyone. All you need to do is: get your course outline in time, get necessary materials, have an overview of the course and follow up with every instruction you're given... You're good to go. I studied Education History /International Studies by the way. |
I have numerous experiences. I can't even start typing |

An industrialist clears a large expanse of forest hitherto inhabited by wild animals. He builds industry on it and employs you thus making you financially comfortable. A poor hunter goes to forest to hunt game for food for his family. You that is employed by the industrialist will come and open your mouth to cast aspersions on the poor hunter. Between the industrialist who dispossessed droves of wild animals of their habitat, of which you are a beneficiary, and the poor hunter who hunts one animal at a time, who posses more danger to the wild life? Your uncle is a public servant. He uses his position to secure a job for you in a federal ministry. He sits on the Commonwealth of the people and makes or supports policies that pushes more and more people into poverty. You have never shared part of your share of the national cake as a federal civil servant with the poor. But you are quick to defend wildlife on nairaland whenever someone posts pictures of animals he caught for food. Tell me, between the lives of those animals and those of the people, which one is more important to you? Your defense always is that the hunters will eat all the bush meats to extinction, but you never bother that you and your uncle are eating our national cake to extinction. You're always quick to tell us how animals and humans cohabit in developed countries; how they care for them, and ask when Africans will get "sense". Bro, equally tell us that in developed countries, citizens are well taken care of. So why will they want to eat rabbit when they can afford chicken? In your village, there are people who never eat chicken unless someone gives them. Yes, they can't afford it. Maggi is their chicken. If you can't provide meats to those people, please stop disturbing them with your animal right bla bla bla. Don't also forget to tell us that in developed countries, if you're attacked by wild animals, you can easily call for emergency services. But here, even our big hospitals don't even have anti venom. But you want me to take my phone and video a snake if I see one. The good book says that God gave humans animals to serve as food. So the poor in the society do not commit any sin by hunting for bush meat. If you want them to stop, empower them economically so that they will be able to afford alternative meats. If you are in love with bush meat, gather here for selfie. Lala please bring your phone for selfie.

Oshiomole would have remained the national chairman of APC. Obaseki would have clinched his second term effortlessly. Now both of them and Edo people in general are the losers

I've always dismissed this Bill Gate story as mere propaganda. But it seems the story is getting more substance by the day. I will have to reassess all evidence. |
Everything Eleme is too rough. Cultism reigns supreme there. Wike will be making a very important statement if he truly deals with this guy especially as he is also a party member. For those saying wike is thuggish and tyrant, you don't understand something about Rivers state. Rivers is a state where civilization and barbarism mix in equal proportion. It takes high level of intelligence to deal with the civilised population of the state and great tyranny to handle cultism and militancy. |
Although raised in an average Nigerian home, this guy does not eat things like bush meat, roasted corn/yam/plantain/potatoes, palm wine, cocoyam etc. According to him, he sees those foods as evidence of suffering. As weired as such ideology is, many people share the same sentiment albeit ignorantly. My people, if you don't eat these things, you're missing a lot. Here on nairaland, I see a lot of people say all sort of negative things when someone creates a post about bush meat. If bush meat causes Ebola and coronavirus , how about the beef that is also reared in the same bush? Is chicken now immune to bird flu?Do you have issues with this local foods or you know anyone that doesn't eat them?

On a more serious note, both US and Iran should be more focused on finding solution to this pandemic that is ravaging the world. |
Finally the virus has gotten out of control. Worst still, the economy will soon get out of control. We never saw these coming |
