Information reaching our News Desk has confirmed Nineteen people killed and as many as Fifty others injured in a bomb attack as two loud explosions were reportedly heard at an Ariana Grande gig at the Manchester Arena around 10.40pm on Monday.

The arena was packed full of people especially teens who had come to watch American singer Ariana Grande perform on stage when two loud explosions went off.

There was real pandemonium as people – some already covered in blood – started to flee and scream in different directions away from the Arena.

The latest report from the Greater Manchester Police states that “19 people have been confirmed dead, with around 50 others injured,”

The Police has advised people to please avoid the area as much as possible in order not to affect the work of the emergency services as well as stay out of harm’s way.

The Police is treating the case as a terrorist attack and have commenced investigations into it.

The Government has planned a briefing on the issue to take place at about 9.00 hours local time.

There seem to be some light at the end of the dark tunnel called Nigeria at long last if what the youth in Kano did a few hours ago is a sign of things to come in the country.

As reports have it, angry youth were able to stop the Senate Majority Leader, Senator Ahmed Lawan (APC, Yobe North), from entering his constituency at the weekend where he was expecting to attend a wedding ceremony scheduled to take place at the Emir of Bade’s palace in Yobe State.

This action followed a complaint from the youth claiming that the senator had abandoned them from the moment he got elected and has also failed to deliver on his election promises

.It was a really serious issue as the youth in different communities contacted one another in order to block the senator’s motorcade from reaching the palace and they eventually prevailed even after evading some of them earlier on as he drove from Kano towards Yobe.

All his pleas to the angry youth were rejected and as things started to look too dangerous, the senator and his convoy just had to turn back so as to avoid danger.

As far we are concerned at Uneekomunikations, this is a very laudable action from the youth in the area concerned as it will send a loud message to politicians that it is no longer business as usual.

It is our hope honestly that youth from bigger cities like Kano, Lagos, Port-Harcourt, and others will emulate this act in order to show the elders that they are now very awake to their civic responsibilities unlike before.

Warning to the Police in London and Madrid – Nobody in these two cities deserves to be arrested for being drunk between the hours of 6.00 p.m. in London and 7.00 a.m. in Madrid today the 21st May to tomorrow the 22nd May, 2017 for any reason whatsoever. This is because they are not at fault.

All complaints should be filed in the names of Chelsea and Real Madrid F.C. They are the real culprits for any offence committed in that time frame.

While Chelsea F.C. were partying in London after their British Premier League Title Triumph, Real Madrid were busy sweating it out on the pitch in a very vital game against Malaga away from home.

At the end of the day, Real Madrid were finally crowned 2016 / 2017 LaLiga Champions to the delight of their fans, Management and players.

Even though this result was a collective result as is usual in a team game, special accolades were given to the two main components of this team – Star Striker Cristiano Ronaldo and Super Manager Zinedine Zidane. These two ensured that Real Madrid deservedly won this particular title that had eluded them since 2012.

In the match itself, Goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema ensured that the long wait for the title came to a close at long last.

As far as Super Coach Zinedine Zidane is concerned, winning LaLiga as a manager is “the happiest day of my life”.

Zidane further said “We are very happy, We have conquered one of the most beautiful leagues in the world and to win it here and with this template has been wonderful.”

The Premier League Champions broke the record for Premier League wins in a single season when they picked up their 30th victory of the season against Sunderland on Sunday. It was definitely an evening to remember as they went on to celebrate the Title in grand style under the watchful and delightful eyes of Club Owner Roman Abramovich.

In the game itself, Chelsea spanked Sunderland by five goals to one to seal the record through goals from Willian, Eden Hazard, Pedro and a double from Michy Batshuayi.

As was to be expected, the after match celebrations were simply fantastic as the spirit of jubilation strolled round the whole arena with Manager Antonio Conte, other members of the coaching crew, the players and their family members stormed the pitch in celebration with the fans doing same in the stands. As the Premier League Season draws to a close today, it kind of reminds one of Nigerian Soccer. Especially at the National Team level. Nigerians are used to situations where it is a sin to go to the stadium or Viewing Centres on the last day of qualification matches involving the Super Eagles.

It is normal on such days to have a situation like what Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City fans have today. In Nigeria, it is usually something like this; If we beat Niger by two goals to one and Ghana loses to South Africa by even a lone goal, we will qualify on goals difference as long as Cameroun does not score more than four goals against Togo.

That is the kind of situation in the Premier League today as Manchester City play away to Watford needing just a draw to keep the third position as long as Liverpool does not score with more than two goals difference against Middlesbrough while Arsene Wenger is fasting and praying that both ManCity and Liverpool lose their matches and his own team manages to score at least five goals against Everton.

Well, that is life for you. These people need to be asked “What have you been doing all season long that you are now fasting and praying for results to go your way on the very last day of the season?”

As for Arsene Wenger, he just can’t accept the fact that after such a long time in the Premier League of always making top four, his team will likely not be able to achieve that this time around.

Just like it had been predicted in some circles before now, the Premier League Player Of The Season Title has gone to a Chelsea F.C. player eventually. However, the player is neither Eden Hazard nor Cesar Azpilicueta who were also nominated for the award.

It was also reported that the lady’s parents blindly trusted Hari to the extent that they often invited him over to their house to perform some religious ceremonies and even allow him to stay overnight with them.

In a move that may actually be a blessing in disguise for those concerned, the South african Authorities deported not less than Ninety Nigerians back home yesterday.

They were alleged to have committed immigration-related offences during their stay in the country. Interestingly, all the deportees were all male and the plane conveying them to Nigeria (a South African Airways aircraft landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos at about 3.30pm.

This much was revealed to journalists at the Airport by a Lagos Airport Police Command spokesman who goes by the name DSP Joseph Alabi.

It will be re-called that Nigerians as well as other foreigners in South Africa were targets of recurrent attacks of Xenophobia of recent and some lost their lives as a result of the mayhem.

While we sympathise with the families of those that died in those attacks, we believe they would have been happy if their loved ones were instead deported like the ones that arrived yesterday.

It is our sincere hope that Nigerians planning to travel abroad at all costs will learn a lesson or two from the current situation before making their decisions.

It is very unfortunate to see the way the men in uniform in Nigeria treat civilians these days and get away with it easily. The same people who are paid from the civilians’ tax money turns around to treat the civilian like an animal and yet the authorities watch on as if the country has no laws.

And all of these happening under a “so-called civilian democratic government”! I wonder what what would have happened if the country was under the Military Rule like sometime back.

This is aside form the fact that soldiers have been turned into “traffic wardens” who like the Policemen collect #20 bribes at check-points and similar stuff.

The most recent case was captured by no other person other than Nigeria’s foremost comedian, Ali Baba who accused the Nigerian Army of treating army brutality of civilians with kid gloves.

Ali Baba posted a photo showing a military man stepping on a civilian in a puddle, whip in hand.

“Bloody civilian! How dare you challenge an officer. And after investigation, it would be an #unknownSoldier. Bloody civilian,” he wrote as caption for the post.

The question now is “Whose duty is it to call these errant soldiers to order”? Or is it that Nigeria has become a lawless state? When soldiers behave the way they are doing right now on the streets of the country, what differentiates them from the so-called “bloody civilians”? A more worrying question would be “can such undisciplined soldiers be relied upon to defend this country in the case of a foreign invasion? Your guess is as good as mine and I wonder what the Military Authorities think about such a scenario or maybe they do not believe Nigeria can be attacked by a foreign force.

I honestly fear for this nation called Nigeria. Things are falling apart at an alarming rate and yet those who should be concerned are showing a whole lot of indifference. Time shall surely tell.

It is so dis-heartening what is happening in Nigeria presently. While a greater percentage of the population is barely surviving under stringent economic conditions, we keep finding the so-called leaders caught in acts of corruption that has directly resulted in the poor state of the nation’s economy and the untold hardship on the innocent masses.

It is however a somewhat more hopeful situation than in the past as the anti-graft agencies seem to have woken up to their responsibilities at long last with the arrests of some of these unpatriotic criminals and discoveries of hidden loots all over the country.

A case at hand is that of the former Governor of Niger State, Babangida Aliyu who has now been brought before the Federal High Court, Abuja on an eight-count charge bordering on money laundering by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The former governor in connivance with his former Chief of Staff Umar Nasko who was the 2015 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state allegedly diverted over N1 billion Ecological Fund received from the Federal Government on behalf of the state in the year 2014.

How else can one describe this act if not demonic?

Is a governor’s salary, allowances and all the security votes so little that he has to even steal directly from the people he swore to protect and provide for? How heartless some people can be! And that is in a state that is one of the poorest in Nigeria for that matter.

The two unpatriotic citizens allegedly used the account of a private company – D-Sabrin International Limited to divert the said amount through the State Commissioner for Environment.

It is because of people like these two that a nation like Nigeria which should be among the richest in the world has been made a laughing stock in the comity of nations.

It is our hope that such people will not just be investigated and the stolen funds recovered from them but should also be given solid jail terms that will discourage others from following in their footsteps as they are giving the younger generation wrong examples to copy apart from indirectly impoverishing the people under their governance.

A lot of discussions have been held and are still on-going about whether the act of negotiation with a terrorist group like the Boko Haram by the Federal Government of Nigeria in its bid to get the release of the kidnapped girls in Chibok was right or not.

There are those who are of the opinion that such acts can only fuel the ego of the group and make them stronger actually. While those supporting the Government are claiming success and patting it on its back, the opposing team are asking “What about the other people regularly being kidnapped still in that terrain?” Are they not human beings or is it that their lives are less worthy?”

In relation to all that, what is the Government doing to avert more kidnaps in that territory and elsewhere or is it going to negotiate with the group continually for past, present and future kidnaps?

It is not surprising that the group has confidently continued in its nefarious activities as reports reaching our News Desk has confirmed that at least at least six farmers who were working on their land were mercilessly slaughtered over the last week-end in Maiduguri in the same Borno State. What was the offence of the innocent farmers?

According to eye-witnesses, the farmers were preparing their lands for the coming rainy season on Saturday afternoon when they were attacked by these wicked people using machetes and other destructive weapons. What have the farmers got to do with the Western Education that Boko Haram claims to fighting to eradicate in Nigeria?

It is high time the Federal Government realised that this issue is a declaration of war on this country by some elements who working under a fake disguise and handle it as such. In any country where farmers are being regularly attacked by armed insurgents, the aim is very clear – starve the community as you gradually eliminate them completely.

This is an effective weapon of war as has been demonstrated in other societies before now and the Federal Government owes Nigerians everywhere in this country protection against local and foreign invasion.

As you read this piece, Kelechi Iheanacho may just have become a Borussia Dortmund player even if the transaction has not been finalised.

It has always been my opinion that President Buhari is the least of the challenges in the APC led Federal Government as the real problems lie in the kind of people he had to surround himself with in the desperate fight to win the last Presidential elections.

Then the fact that Nigerians (including the First Lady) have for sometime now been talking about the existence of a cabal that wishes to control the nation using the President in so doing surely justifies my long-held opinion in this matter. Add the issue of that now popular phrase among Nigerians – “Who is Presidency?” and you will also come to the same conclusions with me on this matter.

The only surprise would be that President Buhari was in a good state of mind enough to handle this delicate issue appropriately and I say a big KUDOS to him for that.

Before now, there have been rumours and stories concerning the suspicion that men of the Nigerian Police Force do trade in Arms kept under their custody with notorious elements in the society including Armed Robbers, Kidnappers and even Militants. Sergeant Sunday of the Ipakodo Police Division must surely have been carrying out this activity for quite sometime undetected before nemesis caught up with him.

Luckily For Nigeria and its innocent citizens, the Police Audit Team that discovered this atrocity refused to accept the bribe offered to them when they got to this Police Station.

If we remember quite well enough, there have been numerous attacks by well armed Militants resulting in a spate of killings in the Ikorodu area for sometime now and the Police as well as the innocent public have always wondered about how militants were getting access to arms and ammunition.

The smart Police Officer cum Arms Dealer is reportedly now cooling his heels (and brain) in a cell at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, Lagos.

The Nigerian Police Force just like many of their African counterparts are known for acts that leaves much to be desired in most cases. And so, when one gets to hear or see some of them actually behaving somewhat normal, it becomes a spectacle of some sort.

This is exactly what happened a few days back as I sat down at a joint that is close to a Police Station late in the evening. As is usual these days, there was no electricity but the Policemen were conducting their normal “Stop and Search” operations for drivers on the road nearby.

Suddenly, a lady with a figure close to the one pictured above alighted from a public transport bus and was walking some distance away from the Policemen.

One of them asked “Who goes there?” No reply from the lady in question. The next statement is the one that really got my attention and that of other people nearby as one other policeman said “Arrest That Yansh”! This got those of us who were spectators laughing so hard that my ribs actually started hurting. The lady of course kept walking away albeit at a faster pace but no policeman actually followed her and it downed on us that they were actually joking.

The issue here for me is “how a policeman on duty searching cars in the darkness was able not only to see some lady going on her own way swaying her backside seductively and worse still, was able to come up with such a creative and real funny order “Arrest That Yansh”? Yansh by the way is the pidgin English name for a woman’s backside In West Africa.

This guy would very likely have been better off working somewhere in the Nollywood Industry as a Comedian of some sort!

If some people are caught drinking late into the night in London today and refusing to go to work tomorrow as a result, the Police and Employers should hold Chelsea F.C. and Manager Antonio Conte responsible for those crimes because they are the cause of all those the celebrations. Instead of waiting for a Saturday to win the title, they decided to do so on a Friday night. Are they not aware that many people now work on Saturdays in these days of economic melt-down?

In ordinary situations, whenever we see Reverend Fathers and Nuns, we hardly associate them with anything sexual in nature since their vocation does not allow them to get married due to the fact that they are under oath not to do so.

And so, it becomes somewhat an ackward thing when we hear about any of them getting involved in any sexual activities be it in the Monastery, Convent or elsewhere. It becomes even more strange and unbelievable when a Roman Catholic Nun is discovered to be having an affair not just with a man but a married one for that matter.

This is exactly what happened when a A 38-year-old Roman Catholic sister confessed to being involved in an on-going adulterous affair with a married man and stating that all she wants from him is sex.

The Nun in question who goes by the name Emmaculate Samukange also works as a nurse at Chivhu General Hospital where she ran into the man in question – Phillip Dzingai. She liked him from the very moment she set eyes on him and commenced a sexual affair with the married man whom she claims is the only man she ever really liked and so could not resist the sexual temptation that followed.

Even though she says that she has never met Phillip’s wife, she thinks the lady knows about the relationship because it has been going on since the year 2013.

However when Phillip was asked about the affair, he denied everything saying it was not true he has been sleeping with Emmaculate. This claim was however debunked by his friends who confirmed the existence of the affair. Even a family member of Phillip’s had this to say “As a family we have had numerous meetings with Phillip but we have not been able to convince him to be faithful to his wife”. He went on to say ““It seems as if they are inseparable; each time you mention anything to do with Emmaculate he changes his temper and starts to be violent”.

Friends, what do you advise the duo in this case (especially the nun) to do? On the one side there is a vocation that needs to be adhered to and on the other side, there seems to be some level of love involved here for this relationship to have survived this long (since 2013) and yet again, there is a family to be catered for legitimately.

In a case where a man is being accused of murdering his girl-friend and the court anxiously waiting for him to come up with a credible form of defending himself, he comes up with the most unexpected line of defence – that it was his huge penis that killed his girl-friend during an MouthAction session!

Mr. Richard Henry Patterson who is 65 years old, who was standing trial in a court in Florida in the United States for killing his girl-friend even went as far as asking the court for permission to allow him “present his penis” as proof that the lady in question choked to death while performing MouthAction on him.

Mr. Patterson even went as far as naming a former Broward County medical examiner, Dr. Ronald Wright, as an expert witness who can testify that the death of his lover (Francisca Marquinez) was caused by what he described as

As expected by many soccer analysts and followers, the “Old Lady” of Italy Juventus F.C. gave F.C.Monaco another soccer lesson in the return leg of their European Champions’ League semi-final game played in Turin as they thrashed the visiting team by two goals to one.

Mario Mandzukic scored the first goal for Juventus in the 33rd minute of the game while Dani Alves (yes, that “old yound man “Dani Alves!) scored the second for them in the 44th minute to make matters worse for the visiting team who eventually scored a consolatory goal through their attacking “Chairman” Kylian Mbappe Lottin in the 69th minute of the game.

Of course by this time, the home team were already psychologically in the final of the competition because the visitors would have needed to score three goals in 21 minutes against a “very stingy” Juventus defence which would have passed fora wonder in the history of the European Champions’ League Competition. Even the “Almighty” MSN of F.C. Barcelona were not able to get close to such a performance.

Briefly talking about F.C. Barcelona, I keep wondering what the people in the transfer department think of themselves whenever they hear the name “Dani Alves” right now. Right from the word “Go”, their decision to sell this “young old man” was a really a bad decision which never had the blessings of the club’s supporters.

And now, what do we see? The “old young man” Dani Alves in a Champions’ League Semi-Final Game against a vibrant “young” team like the present Monaco team who virtually single-handedly qualifies Juventus for the final of the competition with two vital assists in the first leg and another in the second before finally crowning it with a glorious goal of his to take the game beyond the reach of the visitors!

Need anyone say more about his qualities? The presence of people like him and the other “old young” men at the heart ofthe Juventus defence with “Chairman” Buffon gives this team the right now to dream of a victory in the final match against whichever team ends up there against them.

For the umpteenth time this year, Benue is once again under attack by Hersdmen. This time around, the issue has gotten even bloodier in nature. And this time around it was the turn of the people of three communities in Logo Local Government Area of Benue State to taste the wanton destruction acts of the Herdsmen as no fewer than 10 persons were sent to an early grave.

In a phone conversation with journalists, the Logo representative in the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Kester Kyenge said that he personally saw the corpses of some nine people in the mortuary while many other people were reportedly unaccounted for as at the time of that call.

Meanwhile locals informed journalists that the unprovoked attacks started just after the people came out from evening Church services with the herdsmen suddenly moving into the communities and shooting at everyone in sight.

Sources also informed newsmen that the herdsmen actually came into the communities from the Taraba end of the area such as Abaji, Ugondo, Mbamar among others, moved to Akaa and started their “shoot at sight” operation from the market square there.

These attacks and the seemingly helplessness of the government and its security agencies to curb it once and for all makes one to wonder if there is a private agenda in this unmistakable trend of events between both warring factions.

Is somebody or some group benefiting from the situation? Who is supplying these people with sophisticated ammunition? Are these people really Herdsmen or hiding behind that description? Time shall surely tell.

Earlier in the day, F.C. Barcelona wnet three clear points ahead of Real Madrid when they demolished Villareal by four goals to one and so when it got to the turn of the Zinedine Zidane tutored team to play against Granada, their job was a well cut one and they did exactly what needed to be done by crushing the home team by four unreplied goals scored by just two players – James Rodrigues and Alvaro Morata. They both scored a goal apiece in that match.

Ahead of the game, Real Madrid had decided to rest a couple of players ranging from Cristiano Ronaldo to Keylor Navas in order for them to be in a fresh condition for their second leg semi-final encounter of the European Champions’ League Competition against bitter city rivals Athletico Madrid next Wednesday.

Despite resting some players for the game, it was still virtually a walk-over for the visiting Madrid team as James Rodrigues scored two goals with just eleven minutes of the game played. And when Morata added two quick goal later on, it was all but over as the visiting team took their foot off the pedal and simply enjoyed themselves for the rest of the game with one eye already on their next competitive game slated for Wednesday.

F.C. Barcelona ensured that the LaLiga title chase remained a tight rope walk as they kept pressure on Real Madrid by demolishing Villareal F.C. by four goals to one with the famous “MSN” as the “main culprits” as usual in such decisive games.

In a game played in front of their usual vociferous fans at the Nou Camp, the trio of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar Jnr. combined to ensure that the visiting team went home empty-handed to the delight of their teeming supporters.

Just as has been the case at Real Madrid for some time now, Cristiano Ronaldo will be rested in the game against Granada in a LaLiga fixture this evening. This is in order to give the player enough rest ahead of the crucial second leg match of their semi-final game against Atletico Madrid coming up on Wednesday.

There is also the issue of the risk of him missing out on the crucial game against Sevilla later on at the Santiago Bernabeu because he is one yellow card away from a match suspension and the Manager of course would not want to take such a risk at this stage.

Good News For Chelsea Fans.

It was a night to remember for the wrong reasons for Tottenham F.C. as their hopes of catching up with F.C. Chelsea at the helm of the British Premier League Table got a very serious dent inflicted by no other team but West Ham F.C. I am very sure this result did not take only the Tottenham players and fans unawares but must have come as a total surprise to many football punters too.

Tottenham Hotspurs went into this game with their full squad intact and with an intimidating record over the last matches they have played and so were expected to put up a similarly solid performance in this game but then, West Ham United had their own plans and were fully ready to do serious battle to get the maximum three points which they eventually did albeit through real hardwork.

The all important goal of this derby was scored by Manuel Lanzini in the 65th minute of the tempo-packed game. This was a match that West Ham totally deserved to win with the way they played with total commitment as if they planned to use this as a way of saving their Manager’s job at the end of the day. They can even be desribed as having been unlucky not to have scored a second goal through Fletcher.

All in all, it was a brilliant show of good football from both sides and surely a good advertisement of London football in particular and British Premier League Soccer in general.

One other London outfit that massively benefitted from this result without kicking a ball is Chelsea F.C. who are now in a position to celebrate the Premier League title in just two weeks’ time if they win their next two games.
