Death and Disaster were narrowly averted this afternoon (just over an hour ago) in a Jos South suburb called K-Vom as an overloaded truck brought down some PHCN High Tension Cables in the usually crowded section of the town.

For once, the power outage usually complained about by the masses was the saving factor as the cables came tumbling down unexpectedly as a result of the height of the over-loaded truck.

It was so bad that an electric pole smashed the windscreen of a local public transport bus that was right behind the truck. As at the time of this report, the K-Vom Police Station had its personnel on ground doing the needful already.

Nigeria, We Hail Thee. A popular saying in Nigeria has it that “Warri No Dey Carry Last. Instead, The Game Go End For Draw”.

It is in line with such a belief that a man conjured a plan to dupe his brother to the tune of 60 Million Naira and decided that the best way to carry out this act of atrocity was by “kidnapping himself”. Yes, you read that right – “Kidnapping Himself”. Well, here below is the full gist.

A certain Ufom Udoh has been arrested by the Lagos Police Command for allegedly “kidnapping himself” as a plot to defraud his senior brother to the tune of #60 million with the help of a friend of his.

The Lagos State Police command’s Spokesman, Olarinde Famous-Cole, confirmed the arrest to journalists. He informed the press men that on July 3, one Victor Udoh reported to the command that his younger brother, Ufom Udoh, was kidnapped by unknown persons at Liverpool in Apapa area of Lagos state.

In response to this, the State Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Squad, quickly swung into action and traced calls the complainant received on his phone and this led to the arrest of one Paul Okiemute, who had reported the case at the work place of the supposed victim.

Olarinde Famous-Cole further told press men that “Okiemute, upon questioning, confessed that Udoh staged his own kidnap to collect money from his elder brother, to solve his financial problems.

“Udoh was not kidnapped at all. It was all a planned attempt to stage his own kidnap, so that he can be paid a N60 million ransom by his elder brother.

“The suspect said he made calls to the victim’s elder brother with an unknown number, demanding a ransom of N60 million. Ufom Edet Udoh was later picked up and he confessed to the crime.

“He confessed to have checked into a hotel at Iyana-Ipaja area on July 3, where he spent three nights without food and water, hoping to cash the money,”

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Fatai Owoseni, has ordered that the suspects should be immediately charged to court, “to serve as a deterrent to others who may want to cause a breach of the peace in Lagos State.”

There is no letting up of the various challenges facing Nigeria at this point in time.

If the dreaded Boko Haram is not kidnapping and killing innocent citizens across the North – East, some hoodlums are doing same to students and teachers elsewhere in the country. Or some weirdo is being arrested for having freshly severed human parts in a bag he or she claims is containing cow meat that he or she just bought somewhere.

If that aspect is on a break, then some people including relations and security officers are busy raping innocent girls that they are supposed to be protecting. Related to the latter is the post you are about to read as five students of the Ondo College Of Education have been arrested not just for allegedly gang-raping a fellow student of the institution but also going as far as video recording the whole event!

What are people suddenly turning into these days? When one asks such a question, it is usual for most people to respond by saying “It is end times happenings”. But we have been hearing of this “excuse for decades now and so, it holds no water. There is the need to face realty and proffer solutions to these demonic acts once and for all.

Going back to the case at hand, the rape case involves five students of the Ondo State College Of Education who go by the names Timilehin, Tobi, Olakunle, Adebisi and Nwage and who have been arrested by the Police for gang-raping an 18-year-old female student of the institution.

To worsen the matter, they did not just commit the crime alone but went on to video record “the whole show” as they raped her one after the other while the victim kept crying and begging them to stop.

The suspects are said to have confessed to committing the heinous crime. This much was made known by the State Commissioner of Police, Hilda Harrison, while parading 21 suspected criminals, including suspected cult members in Akure.

From reports reaching our News Desk, the unfortunate victim happens to be a girlfriend to one of the suspects who was instrumental in luring her to the house where the criminal act was perpetrated with Olakunle as the “Video Camera Man” of the occasion.

CP Hilda Harrison further informed reporters that “After they raped her, they let her go with a threat that they shall use charm on her if she ever reveals the incident to anyone.

“The case was reported to the school authorities and the suspects arrested; the phone and charm used in perpetrating the crime were recovered and the case was transferred to the Department of Criminal Investigation.”

Meanwhile the victim whose name is being withheld from the public for now, has been moved to a hospital in Ile Ife, Osun State, where she is said to be receiving treatment.

The Police said the case is expected to be charged to court as soon as the investigations are completed.

A raid was carried out by the Joint Security Task Force in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State on Wednesday resulting in the arrest of some 133 suspected hoodlums which included members of the notorious ritual group known as Badoo.

The task force was made up of men from the Lagos State Police Command, the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Department of State Services (DSS), Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Corps (LNSC), the O’dua Peoples Congress (OPC) and also the Onyabo and local vigilantes.

The Task Force had been set up to curb the increasing Badoo menace and other cult-related activities in the area under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner of Police Operations, Edgal Imohimi; RRS Commander, Olatunji Disu, and the LNSC Chairman, Mr. Israel Ajao, a retired Deputy Inspector of Police (DIG),

It decided to conduct an early morning surprise raid on Bayekun, Ikorodu main town, Igbogbo and Majidun which were known to be the hideouts for cultists and Badoo members and by the time the operations ended sometime in the afternoon, some 133 suspects had been apprehended and were subsequently taken to the Oshodi headquarters of the Lagos State task force for proper interrogation.

The RRS Commander, ACP Disu, when contacted confirmed that they went on a raid of all cult known areas in conjunction with the state police command operatives, DSS, LSNC, OPC, Onyabo and local vigilantes.

He went on to say; “After combing several criminal hideouts in Ikorodu and its suburbs, scores were nabbed.
“Those arrested are suspects. They are to be screened. Arrests were based on intelligence and in conjunction with local vigilantes.

“We went on the raid of those communities because of the activities of Badoo and all cult related activities taking place in the area.

“The first step is to screen all suspects and that is already being done at the task force office. All those found wanting will be charged to court while the innocent will be released.”

It will be re-called that just last week, the Task Force carried out a similar raid in which some 87 suspects were arrested and another 20 declared wanted connection with activities of cultism and kidnapping in Ikorodu.

The fact that the Nigerian Educational Sector has been under some organized attacks of recent is no longer news. What is news is the new dimension the attacks are now taking and the increase in the number of attackers and their various styles.

In a related issue, news reaching our Desk all the way from Akwa Ibom State have it on authority that a Vice-Principal of a Community School located at Nkek Village in Ukanafun Local Government Area has been gunned down right on the school’s premises by unidentified criminals. This much has been confirmed by the police spokesperson in the state, Ikechukwu Chukwu.

According to him, the killing is already being investigated by the Police Authorities. They are however withholding the identity of the victim for now.

It is not news that the students kidnapped in a school in Epe, Lagos have not yet being released by the hoodlums despite the payment of a ransom running into millions of naira by parents of the victims and now, we are beginning to see teachers being killed on the premises of the school compounds.

Yet, whenever the issue of falling educational standards in the schools come up in any discussion, the government is quick to blame teachers who are already over-stretched in the classrooms in their efforts to teach unprepared and badly influenced pupils coupled with the fact they are under-paid (if paid at all). What does the society really want this endangered species called teachers to do more after all the attacks they keep up with?

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu on Thursday sent a serious note of warning to Nigeria’s former President Olusegun Obasanjo saying that he should be rest assured that his organization would kill him (Obasanjo) if anything happens to him (Kanu).

This warning came after the former President said “Nigerians must do everything possible to stop the campaigning for the secession of Biafra”. Nnamdi sent this warning at his residence in Ibeku, Umuahia, Abia State while addressing some elders and chieftains.

Former President Obasanjo had made his call to Nigerians during the occasion of the launch of the biography of the late Brigadier Zakariya Maimalari at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.

He stated that the failure to put an end to the Biafra agitation could eventually lead to the kind of situation that led to the 1966 coup and associated events that eventually resulted in the civil war.

Meanwhile Nnamdi Kanu had this to say during his own address at his residence; “I remember Obasanjo calling us names. They said we must eliminate Kanu and for those words coming out from his mouth, he is going to die.”

“I told Obasanjo that I have given instructions to IPOB should anything happen to me. Everything that comes from Obasanjo’s lineage will die the same day at the same time. It is a standing instruction to IPOB.

“Wherever they are, we will kill them ourselves at the same time, the same day, 12 noon, wherever we find them all over the world. I am not like anything they have seen before,” Mr. Kanu boasted.

This is so as a group that goes by the name “Concerned Nigerians” has warned that it would organize a mass protest across the country against the President if he fails to address the nation through a video chat latest by Thursday this week (tomorrow).

In a statement signed by its leader, Deji Adeyanju and the Secretary, Jonh Danfulani, the group is also demanding that the Acting President Yemi Osinbajo together with the Senate President Bukola Saraki set up a medical panel to determine whether the ailing President is incapacitated or not. It based this demand on 144 sub-section 4 of the Nigerian Constitution.

A copy of the statement released to news men reads; “If the President is found with any infirmity that renders him incapable of discharging his duties, the Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives shall officially declare him incapable of discharging his duties and declare his office vacant as prescribed in subsection 2 of section 143.

“To this end, we urge President Buhari to address the nation via a live video on or before the 60th day (2 days from today) of his absence.

“In failing to do so, we will begin a series of peaceful processions and mass action across the country such as [in] Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt and Kaduna and also outside the country in London and New York aimed at sensitizing the public as to the legal & constitutional crisis created by President Buhari’s continued absence from office and the insistence of the cabal to shield him away from his constituents, the Nigerian people.”

It was a beautiful evening for the German National Football Team and its teeming supporters in Russia, back home in Germany and the rest of the world as it won its very first FIFA Confederations Cup despite using a relatively young group of virtually unknown players for the tournament by defeating a highly rated Chilean National Team at a game played in St. Petersburg in Russia.

When I say virtually unknown players, it might better be explained this way; most of us know a Gotze, a Muller, a Schweinsteiger, Neuer and names like that. But then how many of us know the player who goes by the name Lars Stindl?

Well, since yesterday evening, we now know that name, right? Yeah, he scored the lone goal that gave the “German Machine” their first FIFA Confederations Cup title.

I keep wondering how many people in Germany and abroad would have crucified the German Coach Joachim Löw if this experiment had gone wrong eventually. But then this shows the characteristics of a good coach, the ability to take measured risks as you try to look into the future of your whatever you are engaged in.

As for the match proper, it lived up to expectations as both teams put up a brilliant display of attacking football in a game that could easily have produced three or more goals but for the fact that many of the chances created were either frittered away or saved by brilliant goal-keeping.

The lone goal itself came as a result of an error on the part of Diaz. The Chilean player inexplicably lost the ball just on the edge of his penalty area to a prowling Timo Werner. The RB Leipzig striker wasted no time in finding an equally lurking Lars Stindl who found the back of the net from close range leaving Claudio Bravo in goal for the Chilean team livid with anger.

The goal-keeper had to come to the rescue of his team once again just some minutes before the break to stop the Germans from increasing their lead as he blocked a shot at goal from Goretzka after yet another error form the Chilean backline, with Jara the culprit this time around. He is the one in photo above found elbowing Timo Werner, an act that earned him a yellow card gift.

On the whole it was a well deserved win for a country that had only just two days back won the European Under-21 Championship in Poland. This goes on tell everyone that their victory here was no fluke.

Of course, the wedding is worth this title if one considers the fact that Lionel Messi met Roccuzzo as a child before he moved to Spain aged just 13. For a pair to have remained faithful to one another all this long, have two beautiful kids before finally tying the knots does not happen so often.

Number one reason my Uncles are afraid of coming back home...

Omo, I used to blame such Uncles but now, no way! They better stay put where they are until further notice. I am already regretting why I came back home - patriotism or no patriotism.

Oh Dear, the kidnap business seems to have come to Nigeria to stay as the country is now experiencing spates of it virtually on a daily basis. The latest of these cases took place in Imo State recently.

Barrister Kingsley Ononuju is a well known chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State. He had lived a normal life at his Owerri residence located at Oguta Street until recently – Thursday last week to be exact- when he was kidnapped by some gunmen at about 8 p.m. as he left his residence.

This situation naturally threw his family and friend circles into a state of confusion and apprehension as no one was sure of what to do since there was no clue as to the reason of the kidnap. The situation remained so until sometime on Friday when the kidnappers got in touch with the barrister’s family members demanding a whopping #6 million ransom for his release.

The family was not sure at this stage whether to celebrate the fact that they now know he is alive or be desperate about what to do to secure his release.

A member of the family had this to say; “We don’t know at what point he was kidnapped but his abduction took place after he left his Owerri residence at about 8 pm on Thursday. His abductors called on Friday and allowed us to speak to him. We also spoke on Saturday. They are demanding N6m as ransom.”

Interestingly however, the case does not seem to have been reported to the Police as at the time of this report. This much was discovered when contact was made with the Imo State Commissioner of Police, Chris Ezike, who said no such case was reported to them.

Oh Yeee!!!! As a friend would have put it, “It didn’t easy!”. That may just be the best way to describe the situation right now in a marriage that has only just “debuted” somewhere in Gweru, Zimbabwe.

As a saying goes, “Wonders will never end”. But friends, there are events that simply defy logic. What makes a bride to-be decide to have sex with an “ex-boyfriend” on her Wedding Night?

This was exactly the case with a lady who was caught on her wedding night shagging it away with her former lover in Gweru recently.

Nurse Kudzai Juliet Mudema ensured a very rocky start in her marriage to her husband Progress Walusi when she reportedly decided to have a sexual escapade with her ex-boyfriend on that fateful day as she was caught red-handed (in her case it probably should be described as “dark red-handed”).

The couple had reportedly studied together at the Gweru General Hospital where they fell in love and decide to tie the knot only for the bride to find herself in this unenviable pool of shame thereby sending the marriage into a possible “still-born” state as her husband Progress Walusi naturally seems to have decided to call it quits with the marriage.

This much was confirmed via some leaked Whatsapp chats exchanged between him and Nyasha Mudema, a sister to his wife. In one of the chats, Walusi said; “…I’m hurt Gulez more than hurt, as l am texting you so tears are flowing down my cheeks. The last time yandakachema(i cried out) was 2009 when my mum passed away.

“…You know us very well ndichimuregerera you are the best person to testify kuti ndakambozama because l always confided in you, Fracas dzese dzana Bule, abortion dzake l forgave her and opened a new chapter. If you check those chats it was barely two months into the marriage anga akutohura.

“In as much as l love her wholeheartedly, for that l think in life there comes a time when tough decisions have to be made. I am doing this with a bleeding heart but l guess it’s the only way to go.”

Well, as at the time of this report, the sister to his wife (or is it ex-wife now?) is still trying her possible best to convince the embittered husband to forgive the embattled bride.

World Best Footballer for the year 2016, Cristiano Ronaldo has scored yet another hat-trick – this time around on the home front – as he announced to the world the arrival of a set of twins for his family. He now has a total of three beautiful kids in his family.

Even though the rumours had been around for quite some time about the event, he had refused to confirm it until yesterday after Portugal lost out to Chile in the 2017 FIFA Confederations match and he had to take a leave to see his set of twins.

In his own words, Cristiano Ronaldo said; “I was with the national team, giving my everything as always, despite knowing my children had been born.

“Unfortunately, we couldn’t reach our main sporting objective, but I am certain we will continue to make the Portuguese people happy.

“The president of the Portuguese Football Federation and the national team manager were considerate towards me and it is something which I will never forget.

“I am very happy to finally be with my children for the first time.”

In confirmation of Cristiano’s statement, the Portuguese Football Association released a statement of its own appreciating the player’s selfless service to the country.

The statement read; “The president of the Portuguese Football Association and the manager were informed before the Confederations Cup that the national captain Cristiano Ronaldo had become a father.”

“The player, despite knowing about the birth of his children, decided to stay with the national team, which is a gesture we want to highlight.

“The President of the Portuguese Football Association and the manager understand that, having failed to win the Confederations Cup, we had to release the player so that he could finally go and meet his children.”

Manchester United Manager is surely not resting on his oars in his pursuit of the players he believes will help him achieve his aim at the club in the coming season as he continues to be active on the transfer market.

Now that he is more or less very sure of getting Nemanja Matic’s signature (the Bakayoko issue looks already certain for Chelsea F.C. – Read about that here), he has now shifted his attention to another gifted holding mid-field player and this time around, it is F.C. Monaco’s Fabinho.

It is an even more interesting an option since this is a player that can play both in the midfield and at full-back.

It is a well known fact that Mourinho wishes to move Paul Pogba into a more offensive position and so needs someone like Nemanja Matic who he knows very well from his time at Chelsea to play right behind him so as to give him (Pogba) a free room to operate. Having a Fabinho to add to that holding mid-field will surely be a real plus for the club.

Then is also the fact that this player can also play at the right back position where Manchester United had some problems last season until Jose Mourinho converted Antonio Valencia to play in that position which he did very well. Now with a Fabinho in the squad, Valencia can return to playing as a winger.

Good News for the teeming supporters of the Chelsea Football Club. The team is reportedly very, very close to wrapping up the transfer of Tiemoue Bakayoko from F.C. Monaco to the London Bridge club.

Reports reaching our News Desk has it on authority that the dimunitive Monaco F.C. mid-fielder has passed a medical in London as he prepares to join the Blues from across the Channel.

Already, F.C. Monaco has agreed to the £35million transfer fee offered by Chelsea thereby making the switch more or less a done deal. According to our reliable sources in London, the 22-year-old flew into London this week and successfully underwent a medical without any hitches.

The London Club is hoping to see a formidable mid-field combination of Bakayoko and N’Golo Kante take the team to a higher level next season as it seeks to remain well ahead of its competitors in the new season.

Oh Dear, this might just cost someone his or her job apart from damages done to the reputation of a popular hotel. And a well known city worldwide.

Popular 49-year-old comedian Leslie Jones was at the Los Angeles Ritz-Carlton on Sunday where she hosted the BET Awards. Everything seemed to have gone well with the show itself. However, something must have gone wrong somewhere else within the hotel premises at a point in time.

This much was made public when Leslie later took to Twitter on Monday to express her disgust with the services at Ritz-Carlton accusing the hotel of racism and claiming that “They Don’t Like Black People”.

She stopped short of specifying or sharing any further details on the incident. However, the Ritz-Carlton official Twitter page responded to her outrage by tweeting a response that said

“We’re very sorry to hear this. We pride ourselves on providing excellent service to all. Please DM us & we’ll look into this right away.”

If she decides to actually DM the hotel management, someone somewhere may just have to do a change of environment.

It was an unusual type of armed robbery as some armed hoodlums carried out an attack on a Liquor Store in Mbobela, South Africa a few hours ago.

At about 18.45 local time, three armed men appeared at a liquor store located at Ferreira Street, hit the Shop Assistant on the head from behind with a weapon of some sort which knocked him out and so made it impossible for him to know how many the hoodlums were.

Evidence from a video surveillance equipment however showed that the Shop Assistant was on the floor unconscious for about a half hour before waking up to press the panic button which then alerted Hi-Tech Security (the security company attached to the shop).

Before then however, the robbers had made away with their loot which consisted of cigarettes, liquor, a cellphone and an undisclosed amount of money.

Some people who happened to pass around the area at about the time of the incidence said they saw three men walking briskly away from the store. “We think they must have parked a vehicle further away from the scene so we don’t have a description”, they stated.

In the meantime, the Shop Assistant has been treated for his head injury by the Hi-Tech Security medical services and later transported to a hospital.

Of course, Manchester United is at the centre of the football transfer news right now as most big name transfer moves are somehow connected with the club one way or the other. Names ranging from Cristiano Ronaldo to Alvaro Morata as well as Nemanja Matic amongst others are all connected with ManU.

ManU Manager, Jose Mourinho seems to have made up his mind to completely restructure the team he met on ground last season as he is bent on bringing in his own type of players into the team for the new season.

Already in the kitty is the £31m Victor Lindelof who has already been named as Jose Mourinho’s first summer signing. Close on the heels of this is the signing of Nemanja Matic who the rumour mills have it should be under-going a medical at the club in a few days’ time. Just as close is the case of Alvaro Morata whose signing is only being delayed by the uncertainty of Cristiano Ronaldo’s stay at the Bernabeu for now.

On the other hand, there are players who also moving away from Old Trafford. Zlatan Ibrahimovich is understood to have been allowed to leave on free transfer while Chris Smalling also seems to be on his way out of the team.

Then there s the case of Anthony Martial who reportedly is looking to seek his luck elsewhere since he is somewhat unsettled at ManU. The club’s management would prefer to keep him but will not stop him from leaving if a suitable offer is made for his services by other teams.

While teams like Arsenal, West Ham and Tottenham are said to be interested in his signature, the young French player seems to prefer going back to France and very likely to Paris Saint-Germain who are known to have shown serious interest in signing him up.

Manchester United is also involved in the case of Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic who is understood to so be bent on leaving his present club to the extent of refusing an offer of a pay rise. Inter Milan however are not about to let him leave so easily.

Reports reaching our News Desk has it that the proposed transfer of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid F.C. to Manchester United F.C. is more or less a done deal.

As will be recalled, Manchester United had allowed Zlatan Ibrahimovic to leave the team on a free transfer and hoping to replace him with Antoine Griezmann but that plan has not worked out partly because Athletico Madrid is banned from signing players until January and so cannot afford the loss of their star striker without a replacement.

That situation has prompted ManU to turn their attention to Alvaro Morata who has been playing second fiddle in the front line of Real Madrid behind players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema thereby making the player to start looking elsewhere to get a starting shirt.

Reliable sources in Spain stated that Real Madrid are ready to accept Manchester United’s offer for the player especially since the player has informed the club and Manager that he is interested in moving to the Red Devils for the next season.

It was further claimed that the delay in officially announcing the deal is partly due to the present situation surrounding the future of Cristiano Ronaldo at the club as a result of the tax evasion saga surrounding him and the resultant statements credited to him of his intention to leave Spain.

The dreaded Boko Haram sect is at it again. They seem to be moving for more strategic conquests gradually as they were bold enough to ambush a military convoy that comprised of both the Police and Military Officers near Maiduguri.

The sect has now gone on to release a video about the ambush through a journalist who goes by the name Ahmad Salkida of the Salkida.com. The video has been uploaded onto the YouTube social platform.

The video itself is about 18 minutes long but has the Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau speaking for about a 10-minute period in which he reveals that the group abducted several female police officers during an ambush on a joint police/military convoy somewhere along Maiduguri – Damboa Road. The convoy seemed to have been caught off-guard as the armed members of the sect attacked them.

In the video, Shekau can be seen and heard saying “

“I want to tell you that we are the one that attacked the convoy, here are the vehicles for all to witness, we are the ones that abducted the female police officers, in fact, they are senior female police officers,” he brags. “What we did is nothing when compared to our women, children, and friends that have been wiped out or arrested for many years by the Nigerian government. We only abducted them to serve as slaves to us.”

He went on to criticize the current arrangement between Christian and Muslims who work together to protect each other at their places of worship and warning the moderate Islamic Clerics to repent as according to him, “No prophet has ever practiced this” He also declared that the female police officers abducted by the group are fewer than 10 in number as he referred to them as “slaves”.

It is no longer news that Real Madrid is interested in signing Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe who we all know is the talk of the town as far as young strikers are concerned what with his recent performances for club and country.

It is also a known fact that the player is very interested in joining the Madrid team personally. It however is not as simple as it looks with the Madrid team hoping to raise some money by off-loading a striker, most likely James Rodriguez who is supposedly a target for Manchester United.

The issue here however is “will Manchester United and or the other clubs hoping to sign James be able to match Real Madrid’s asking price for the striker”? This is a striker that was always on the reserve bench at his present team and may not be worth the amount his club is asking for. which is in the region of € 75 million!

If the the Spanish and European Champions’ League winners fail to sell James Rodtiguez in the summer they will be forced to wait until next summer to get the opportunity to sign Kylian Mbappé.

The people of China woke up this morning to grim news of a landslide that took place in the South West area of the country with reports claiming that over a hundred people have lost their lives in this deadly incidence.

The incidence reportedly took place in the village of Xinmo where at least 40 homes were destroyed by a natural disaster that is being described in some circles as a ‘first class catastrophic disaster’. Xinmo is located in the Maoxian County of China’s Sichuan Province of the Peoples Republic Of China.

The homes were reportedly destroyed by debris from a collapsed section of a nearby mountain which also resulted in the blockade of a two kilometre stretch of river.

Frantic efforts are on-going as at the time of this report to rescue survivors who are likely still buried under the massive debris that resulted from the deadly landslide. On a happy note, three survivors have just been rescued from the debris as I write this report.

Please pray for the rescue of those still left under the debris as rescue workers struggle to get to them.
