Sometimes one hears some weird news and does not know what to make of it. In fact, one simply becomes dumb and confused for a moment. You know, that kind of news that reminds you that you have not seen anything yet even though you thought you have heard them all and seen them all. Then, you get jolted back to reality by a new weirder story.

A lot has been published about sexual molestation of minors in various quarters and ways. Some weider than others. However, I am still trying to recollect if I ever heard of any one that is as weird as the one you are about to read.

Reports reaching our News Desk has it that a woman has been arrested by the Police in Newcastle, Sydney not just for sexually molesting THREE of her OWN children but also FILMING the whole affair! Yes, Molested them and Filmed the whole thing.

What exposed the woman who cannot be named for legal reasons since it would reveal the children's identity, is the fact that she not just filmed her indecent acts but sold them to a paedophile website from where the Police latched unto the material and started tracing the origin until the leads pointed her out.

The children concerned in this case are not just her own biological kids but were as young as 5, 10 and 14 years old. The woman was arrested after an international hunt to identify an abused child surfaced on a paedophile website. The video had shown up on a website that was under observation by the Interpol and she was identified by her accent.

The randy mother risks facing a jail term of life imprisonment for filming herself sexually and indecently assaulting her three young children and uploading the images to a paedophile site.

The economic recession in Nigeria has not just brought with it serious challenges for the masses but has equally worsened the existing ones which the people and NGOs have been grappling with for quite sometime now.

A major one of these challenges is that of human trafficking which has defied all solutions before the economic downturn further added fuel to an already raging fire. The fact that this challenge still exists despite all efforts to combat it is now not the major problem. The real challenge now lies in its astronomical rise in the last two years or thereabout.

Going by the figures reeled out by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the number of girls who were trafficked to Europe in the year 2013 was about 433 only for that number to have increased to a whopping 5 000 by the following year! One wonders what the figure looks like right now.

The issue has been further seriously worsened by the fact that more and more under-age victims are now involved in the “business”. Worse still, most of them are being pushed into the sexual slavery sector in countries like Italy, Spain and France among others.

Maybe the most worrying aspect of the whole issue is the fact that many of those who were there and came back through deportation and other means are actually itching to go back to Europe since the situation at home is in no way encouraging for them. One of them, a woman who goes by the name Miracle had this to say;

“In Europe, people are good people. They are like Jesus,” as she explained why she left Nigeria in 2012. “I pray to God every day. I ask him to find me a way to go back.” These are the words of a woman who came back from Italy two years ago. If for two years, she has failed to re-integrate into the system, then there is surely every likelihood that she will surely find her way back there at all costs.

All of that despite the fact that many of these trafficked people are bound to pay huge sums of money to their benefactors (ranging between $55,000 and $66,000!) before regaining their freedom from them apart from the harrowing experiences that they have to put up with in the course of the “business”.

God save this country called Nigeria.

The Nollywood Film Industry has played a very major role in helping improving the lives of so many Nigerians by way of providing not just employment opportunities but also business openings that ordinarily could not have been provided by the government.

It has given otherwise hopeless young men and women the opportunity not just to put food on their tables but even made some to become superstars of reckoning worldwide.

This has turned it into a primary target for smart young people who wish to escape from the difficulties of life which they face especially from the time they graduate from the secondary school.

Naturally, this has made the market there also quite competitive for would be new actors and actresses to the extent that we now hear of some producers taking advantage of the situation by imposing themselves especially on the actresses who wish to get a role to play in a movie. In most cases the bosses want sexual gratification for giving out a role to the aspiring actresses.

Coupled with the hard economic realities around them, these young vibrant actresses are left with no option but to give in to such advances now and then to the extent that such cases are begining to look normal in the industry. Worse still, that is beginning to wash off on the mentality of the average female Nigerian youth who now see it as a prerequisite to be highly sexually appealing and “co-operative” in order to make a headway in that profession.

Take a cursory look at the more recent films produced and you will find that they are mostly more sexually inclined than before now. And that is why we find more and more moral decadence thriving in the society these days especially with the way the leaders themselves seem to be “showing the way forward” corruption-wise.

Let’s for a moment take the case of a young and up-coming Nollywood Actress who goes by the name Silverline Onuoha who feels that she has what it takes to take the indstry by storm. And what are the assets she is relying on to do this? Not her education, creativity or innovation. She clearly tells anyone that is ready to listen to her that she will be using her body to achieve her aim.

In fact, she said; “Nollywood is soon going to feel my full glow. All I have been doing are bit parts, but they should watch out for the real Nancy Dive, that’s my stage name, because I am ready to consume all that comes my way with my talent and sexuality”.

Now this is a lady who actually has a smallish figure and cannot be said to have the curves of an Omotola or the looks of a Genevieve.

The matter became even more interesting as she went on to say; “Yes, I have small boobs but my nipples are bombshell. You don’t have to own monstrous boobs to feel you have great boobs. In fact the main treat of a boob is the nipple and I have the longest, most tantalising and sexiest nipples you have ever seen.”

Now after saying all of that, is it still so difficult to see how she plans “to take Nollywood by storm”? Well, some people will say it is her body while others may add the fact she is not alone in that line of thought. All that is true but is it necessary to go in that direction really to make it in the industry? If so, how come the Omotolas and the Genevieves of this world are still better paid and respected than “these other types”?

May God come to the aid of this nation before it is too late.

Uff Flato Unaized!

In a weekend that had Nigerian football fans fuming, quarreling and generally in a mourning mood following the dismal performance of the Super Eagles in their match against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa, fans on the Plateau had a good reason to celebrate 24 hours later as their darling team, Plateau United put in a five star performance in their NPFL match against Gombe United.

Plateau United virtually “dis-united” Gombe United by pummeling the visiting team by five goals to one in a match played at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium. The visiting team just could not understand what hit them as the home team ran riot around them. This win is so important as it ensured that Plateau United remains on top of the League Standings with a very comfortable five points separating them from the second-placed team, MFM who defeated Shooting Stars by a 1-0 scoreline in Lagos.

Many Nigerians will have woken up this morning to realise that the game they watched yesterday between their darling team, the Super Eagles and South Africa’s Bafana Bafana was not a bad dream afterall but a reality as the visitors have succeeded at last in their quest to defeat the Nigerian team in a competitive game.

The South Africans did not just beat Nigeria but did so comprehensively by two goals to nil. They also hit the upright TWICE in the course of the game. Perhaps the sweetest aspect of it all for the visitors is the fact that they did so right in their opponents’ backyard.

It will no surprise surely if after yesterday’s debacle, the Uyo football fans never get to host any Super Eagles international matches anymore since the stadium does seem to be a good hunting ground for their national team.

It was at this same stadium the the Eagles played a 2-2- draw with DR Congo and consequently failed to qualify for the last World Cup Tournament. Nigerians may soon call for a change of venue for matches involving the Super Eagles if anything because of results achieved in that stadium so far.

So, what have the coaches to say about the result of this match?

Let’s hear the Nigerian team Coach first; “I won’t blame the keeper for the defeat, we lose as a team. The first goal, a header came from the right, through a cross from the South African right-back. The second had our keeper beaten from outside the box but we should have had a man marking the scorer. The whole team lost, I can’t blame a single player.”

He then went on to add the following; “We had difficulties in finishing the match because we made so many efforts in the first half while some of our players were tired in the second half. We tried to open the wings and bring power to the team but unfortunately it did not yield fruits.”

And what about the South African team’s Gaffer? Well, this is what he had to say; “We opened up the game in the first half but unfortunately we did not score. Beating Nigeria is very interesting.

Nigeria are a very good side but my boys prevented them from scoring. We are trying to develop our boys and expose them.” From the statements above as well as from the eventual result of the game, it is not so difficult to deduce whose tactics were more effective.

As it stands right now, something tells me that Gerhard Rohr is about to find out what it is like working as the Nigerian Team Manager in practical terms. It had hitherto been a rosy welcome for him. What comes next is a pregnant issue.

I have been suffering from this skin disease from the past 5 years now I have tried all kinds of skin Care product but seems not to work.

I even tried using bleaching cream but oboy skin no gree turn yellow ohhh.

(1) Check with a specialist (doctor) in Skin related issues for a test. A blood test will reveal the origin.
(2) In between, rub natural Aloe Vera Gel direct from the leaves - not chemicalised - on the affected areas after bath.
(3) On youtube type in how to naturally get rid of acne through aloe vera use or something similar. There are useful videos there that will show you the needed ingredients and applications.
(4) Combine all that with a good anti-biotic such as Ampiclox.
(5) Ensure regular cleanliness and be religious in carrying out the steps.
(6) Pray about it with faith. Should acually come first.

Soccer can sometimes be as sour as it is sweet with recent unfolding events leaving a sour taste in one’s mouth now and then. In England alone we have had some such events in the last few days. There was the case of a “text message sacking” of a club’s leading striker somewhere around the London Bridge.

Today we hear of a fairly similar case even when it is not exactly as bad as the other one. It is all over the news media now that Manchester United has decided not to renew its contract with its best striker of the immediate past season – mercurial Zlatan Ibrahimovich.

Some people may want to argue the fact that he came on a year contract and Manchester United has done nothing wrong legally in not offering him a new one. Well, what about morally? Or do such stuff no longer matter in football these days? Of course where there is a lot of money worshiping on-going, morality is usually not welcome.

I say this because of the following facts;

(a) This Zlatan is well known for playing with all his heart for his team (which gets him into trouble now and then,) and got badly injured doing just that.

(b) Despite not playing in all the matches the team was involved in, he still manged to become Manchester United’s highest goal scorer in his first and only season at the club.

(c ) From testimonies made by fellow players of the team about how he brings a positive aura into the dressing room whenever he is around.

(d) Zlatan is unquestionably a team leader on the pitch who will accept nothing less than victory no matter who the opponents are. And so on and so forth.

Let’s read what Paul Pogba thinks of his now ex-team mate; ‘He’s a wonderful person, incredibly funny, I only spend great moments with him,’

‘On the pitch he is a winner, he added this mentality to our team. He scored a lot of goals this season, nobody would have thought that given his age,’

‘He was unlucky and suffered a bad injury but he won three trophies with us. He will always be Zlatan,’

With such compliments from Pogba, the question being asked by Manchester United fans is this one here;

If Zlatan Ibrahimovich had not gotten a serious injury on club duty and is fit to play, would the club have decided to let him go as it has now done? Only Time can tell in such cases, right?

As promised in an earlier post today in which we featured the Argentinian Superstar Lionel Messi in a video format, (read it here) we will in this post turn our attention to Portugal’s star striker Cristiano Ronaldo.

CR7 as he is otherwise known is the main contestant for the best footballer of modern time. Like I mentioned in the earlier post (read it here), I found two videos that accurately decribe the achievements of both stars on the soccer pitch. I believe these will help put us in the right position to decided who is actually the better of the two.

In this article, I wish to take a cursory look at the man Lionel Messi.

Just yesterday, there was a heated argument between two people at a bar about who the greatest footballer of this era is. One felt it is Messi while the other opined that it is Cristiano Ronaldo. The argument almost ended in a fight which luckily was averted by the intervention of some other people nearby.

While this is not the first time I have listened to and even participated in such arguments, some of the facts that came out of the heated one of yesterday made me to decided to take a closer look at the records of both players which I promptly did.

At the end of it all, I came to the conclusion that the result of my findings are better explained by two well documented videos that I found on each of the two superstars. It will help put one in a better position to take a decision for him or her self.

The first of the two is that of the Argentinian Soccer Wizard – Lionel Messi. The video is right here for you to see for yourselves. That of Cristiano Ronaldo will follow in my next post for sure. So, here we go. Have fun watching.

In these days of scandals all over the place especially in Celeb Marriages, it is very encouraging to find a celeb pair that are still very much in love in the true sense of it.

The more reason why it was heart-warming to see the public display of love between two well known celebrities, Kim Kardashian and Kanya West. Could this be because their names start with the letter “K” ? As a matter of fact, three of their four names consist of the letter “K”.

Well back to the main issue here.

Kanye West has just turned 40. And as would be expected of a truly loving wife, celeb or not, Kim Kardashian was at the fore-front of all the goodwill messages pouring into Kanye’s inbox everywhere. She ensured that there was no mistaking her intentions in the love messages to her ‘Sweet Hubby”.

In her Instagram message, this is what she had to say; “Happy Birthday babe I love you so much! You inspire me every day to be a better person!” “I’m so grateful for you.” Waoohh! This is surely sweet music to the ears of any normal husband. She went on to add a photo of the two holding hands as they walk in public – one of their best photos together so far.

Kim did not stop there however. She also went to post the following on her website; “Happy birthday, babe! I know you’re not on social media anymore, so you’re not gonna see it anyway—and I’m going to be with you to tell you! but if I don’t post it, then all the stories will start so…I love you so much! Happy birthday!”

Kanye surely is a real lucky guy as compliments pour in from the rest of the members of the Kardashian family. This is normally an unusual situation with most other families everywhere.

The following is what Kim’s sister, Khloe Kardashian, posted on her own website; “Happy birthday to THE Kanye West! I’m so happy that you’re a part of our family. Thank you for being such a good hubby to Kim and an amazing father.”

The best was yet to come as Kanye’s mother-in-law got into the act with an “award-winning”message of her own when she wrote; “Happy birthday to my son #kanyewest!! You are an amazing Dad, amazing son, amazing brother and a beautiful soul who I love so very much,” the 61-year-old elated mother-in-law wrote on Instagram. “You bring such joy and are such an inspiration to all of us and we are beyond blessed to have you in our lives….I hope you have the most wonderful day filled with love.”

I am quite sure that there are many couples who right now would give an arm and a leg to be in the position of this beautiful, lovely pair.

There are some issues that one gets to hear about and one finds it difficult to react appropriately to them. Should one get angry or laugh it away because of its nature? One good friend of mine will simply solve that challenge by saying "IT DIDN'T EASY".

Friends,please tell me how you would react to a story of a son who kidnaps his own father for a ransom? Many people will see this as an impossible scenario but then it does and has happened right here in Nigeria - God's Own Country!

A 20-year-old Ibrahim Babatunde has been arrested by the Oyo State Police Command for masterminding the abduction of his own biological father. Of course, he enlisted some other "friends" (three in number) to assist him in his nefarious activity.

These 'friends" of his included the following people; Babuga Salihu, 20, Aura Sands, 20 and Amuda Yusufu, 19.

The innocent target, Aliyu Babatunde was kidnapped in Igboora and he ended up spending three torturous days in the den of his abductors and was only released after a N1 m ransom was paid to the gang of kidnappers.

In his defence, the 20-year- old criminal claimed that he was forced into the act because his father failed to live up to his responsibilities as far as the welfare of his children was concerned.

He went on to say;“ My father married many wives and he doesn’t care for us. We are left to fend for ourselves". “So, I think the only way to get money out of him is to organise his abduction and force him to part with the money. We collected N1m as ransom from our family”. He went on to say that he invited his friends after he was sure that the plan would succeed.

A 54-year-old mother of four whose names were given as Owolabi Oluwayemisi Modinat was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos with concealed 32 wraps of cocaine in her possession during the usual screening of passengers for a Qatar Airline flight to Saudi Arabia.

The woman who is from Kwara State had reportedly swallowed the 32 wraps in order to avoid being discovered by the security outfit but luck ran out on her as she tested positive for cocaine at the checking point. The ingested wraps weighed 330 grammes.

The woman just like many before her claimed that she was pushed into the act because of her acute level of poverty.

According to her, she had been hawking tea and bread for her daily living before she met with some people who promised to improve her life through the drug business. Meanwhile, she informed the security agents that she has never travelled out side of Nigeria before now.

According to her, she ran into serious financial challenges as a result of family problems and it was during that particular period that she met a man who promised to help sponsor her trip to Saudi Arabia which made her happy since she is a muslim by faith.

However, things got serious as the man asked her to swallow the wraps of cocaine in return for a payment of #300 000.00. The temptation was too much for her to resisit and so she agreed to the deal which eventually led to her being arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos.

It was a very deadly night in London as the city came under terrorist attack which left six persons dead and another forty-eight injured. It was surely a night to remember for many as they scampered for safety after terrorists drove a van into a group of pedestrians on the London Bridge late on Saturday night thereby injuring scores of people.

The terrorists thereafter left the vehicle and went on a stabbing spree of everybody in sight including a British Transport Police officer who was responding to the incident at London Bridge.

The assailants then moved to the Borough Market area where they were confronted by Armed Officers who had been called upon by the Police. The three male suspects at this point were consequently gunned down by the officers who on close inspection, also discovered that they were putting on fake explosive vests.

The London Ambulance Service in a statement issued early this morning (Sunday) confirmed the casualty figures and the injured. The serviced informed reporters that they took 48 patients to five different hospitals across London and treated a number of others at the scene for minor injuries.

The incidence reportedly took place in the vicinity of a major transport hub and in an area packed with restaurants and bars which resulted in a panic as people ran for their dear lives.

In the wake of this incidence, the scheduled campaigns for the General Election have been suspended.

It was surely a very memorable night for Real Madrid F.C. and their fans on 3rd June, 2017 in Cardiff, Wales as the team cruised to a record-breaking Champions League win when they defeated Juventus F.C. by four goals to one.

Even as the whole team share and enjoy the bliss that followed this win, one man surely stands head and shoulder above the rest of the pack in this epoch-making triumph. That man is Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro – also known as CR7.

This young man has not only been consistently fantastic for Real Madrid all season long but remained a shoulder to lean on for the team in rough times as he kept popping up with match-winning goals all through the various competitions that his team played and won.

The final match of the 2017 European Champions’ League Competition was no exception for him despite playing against a Juventus side that was known to have the best defensive line-up in the competition and in Europe this season.

This consequently earned him the accolade “Man Of The Match” and things got even better for him as the award was presented to him by no other personalty than his beloved former Manager and mentor, Sir Alex Ferguson on the night. Of course, the relationship between the two goes a long way back as we all know and so it was a befitting gesture by the organizers of the competition.

It was however not all as rosy for Ronaldo as he expectedly got some “rough treatment” from the Juventus defenders early in the game and had to complain to the referee about it.

He however had the last laugh of the game by scoring his side’s very vital first goal of the game before adding yet another later on. He has now won his 3rd Champions League winners’ medal with Real Madrid and the fourth in total.

One wonders when the perceived rivalry between the two superstars of soccer in modern times – Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will be settled once and for all. These guys seem to be exchanging honours between them as if it is an arrangement between both players.

Just as the European Soccer Authorities were announcing Lionel Messi as the European Golden Shoe Winner, Forbes was also announcing Cristiano Ronaldo as the highest paid footballer in the world for the fourth year in a row.

Forbes in its report stated that Cristiano Ronaldo earned a staggering $93 million in total from a combination of salary, endorsement deals as well as bonus payments between June 2016 and May 2017. If the Forbes’ report is anything to go by, the reported amount Ronaldo earned in this period is also the best of every active professional athlete globally. And so not just for football.

The earnings made by Ronaldo are reportedly from his salary at Real Madrid, his endorsement contracts with Tag Heuer and Nike as well as from his own underwear line and other business ventures that he is engaged in.

Next to him as usual is Lionel Messi who has an earning of $80 million consisting of $53 million from salary package at F.C. Barcelona and bonus payments with the balance $27million coming in from endorsement deals he has with Gatorade, Adidas and others.

Even when he started his scoring spree a bit later than his other competitors, the mercurial F.C. Barcelona star Lionel Messi has eventually won the European Golden Shoe award after scoring a whopping 37 goals in the just concluded LaLiga Season.

The Barca captain garnered 74 points on the log to stay ahead of close competitors Bas Dost of Sporting Lisbon who came second with 34 goals and 68 points while the third place went to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Borussia Dortmund who blasted in 31 goals in the German Bundesliga and ended up with 62 points.

As it stands right now, Messi has now won the award four times thereby equaling Cristiano Ronaldo’s record in the competition.

The only other F.C. Barcelona player on the award’s list is Messi’s partner in the MSN formation – Luis Suarez who was ranked 7th on the log with 56 points after scoring 28 goals and coming second in the just concluded LaLiga season.

Interestingly, the two F.C. Barcelona strikers were the only ones from LaLiga to make the top ten of the European Golden Shoe Competition this time around as names like that of Cristiano Ronaldo and Antoine Griezmann were conspicuously missing on the list.

It is no longer news that F.C. Barcelona has appointed a new Manager for the team. He is no other person than Ernesto Valverde and he has since resumed work at his new desk.

Real Madrid has really changed for the better under the Management of Zinedine Zidane. I am not talking just about their victories here and there but also about how he has handled the internal challenges that were holding the team down.

Most notable of all these is the way he has managed to transform Cristiano Ronaldo as a player and as a person. Those who know Ronaldo well (I am not referring to fanatics here but ardent and objective football analysts) will tell you that the guy has really changed for the better.

The Controller General of Prisons has now come out to express his appreciation of the assistance provided by security agencies particularly the SSS and the police in arresting the fugitive while also stating that security measures have been beefed up to prevent persons in prison custody from escaping.

Well, it is our hope that the smart lady will not be declared missing again from the prison in the near future.

Going by the recent events involving the United States Of America and top European Union countries, it is very glaring that all is not well with their relationship. NATO in particular seems to be heading for rough times ahead. Things are falling apart in that relationship as the early signs suggest.

First was the meeting between President Trump and German Chancellor Merkel in Germany just a few weeks back. It was virtually a failed trip with the famous “handshake fail” between the two.

Now, just a few days ago, at a NATO meeting, President Trump kept true to his electorate back home by telling the Europeans to their faces that their actions as far as contributing their fair share to the defence budget of the Alliance is “not fair to the American Tax Payers”.

What a blunt way to put it to the EU members. But then can anyone really blame President Trump for telling the EU Nations the truth in such a blunt manner? Is it fair for the US to carry the responsibilities of everyone in the Alliance?

Well one of the outcome of this NATO saga is the fact that Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany has come out to say that the European Union can no longer “completely rely on US and Britain anymore”.

Europe can no longer completely rely on its longstanding British and US allies, Angela Merkel warned – saying the EU must now be prepared to “take its fate into its own hands”. She is of the opinion that the postwar western alliance had been badly affected by the UK’s Brexit vote and Donald Trump’s election as US president.

She went on to say “The times in which we could completely depend on others are, to a certain extent, over,” she told an election rally in Munich on Sunday. “I’ve experienced that in the last few days. We Europeans truly have to take our fate into our own hands.”

When one takes into consideration the fact that Germany is the biggest economy in the European Union, then it surely means some sort of serious challenges await the NATO Alliance in the very near future.

In a country where the leaders and the led have decided to throw morality to the winds, evrything goes. So it is presently in Nigeria as different atrocities are being committed on a daily basis almost without rebuke.

If a mosque is not being bombed somewhere up north, a child is being raped somewhere else or a chaplan is being sacked by a governor or villagers being murdered by suspected herdsmen. Even the Church is not being left out as we find in a case that took place in Akure on Saturday 27th May, 2017.

Reports reaching our News Desk has it on authority that some churches situated around the Fanibi and Ondo Road areas were paid “courtesy visits” by hoodlums who shamelessly went on to rob the members of various valuables as well as the churches’ offerings running into millions of naira.

The robbers seem to have come for the operation well prepared as they reportedly took their time and spent hours doing their thing without any disruption from any quarters whatsoever. They even had time to meticulously share their loot in one of the churches before departure.

The operation was allegedly carried out between 2.00 a.m. and 4.00 a.m. on Saturday morning.According to some of the victims, even when they managed to discretely contact the Ondo State Police Command’s control room, they got no response whatsoever.

However, it was reported that the Special Anti-Robbery Squad arrived the area some 15 or so minutes after the robbers had finished their operation and departed.

The Ondo State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Femi Joseph confirmed the incidence adding that the case is under investigation while assuring the people that “very soon we shall arrest the hoodlums .”

Here we go again. Elections are never held peacefully in most parts of this country. As if we are all animals. Yet, we watch electons take place place in neighbouring countries without any violence but carry on as if we have no shame.

The latest “show of shame” took place in Lagos as APC primaries were held in the state. Unlike elsewhere, some people in the Amuwo Odofin axis decided that they must show their animalistic tendencies as they set fire to the office of the Local Government Chairman.

The APC primaries had been marred by violence as disgruntled party members who were not comfortable with the results started a protest. The burning of the office of the Local Government Chairman’s office therefore cannot be unconnected with the protest earlier carried out. The thugs allegedly burnt the DSS office and that of the Secretary to the local government.

Residents around the area informed our correspondents that the thugs stormed the area at around 12 midnight brandishing assorted weapons.

Meanwhile, the premises of the council is presently under heavy security.

Two days ago, we reported on the case of the Chaplain who was sacked within 24hours of allegedly “disrepecting” the wife of the Governor of Lagos State. As is expected of responsible organisations, the Christian Association of Nigeria has waded into the matter.

An official of the Organisation has shed some more light on the issue as the sacked Chaplain has duly reported the matter to it.

Firstly, he explained that even though the Chapel in question belongs to the Lagos State Government, it is being managed by the entire Christian body and, specifically, the various blocs that form the Christian Association of Nigeria which are five in number.

On the issue of the sacking proper, he said he was contacted by Venerable Taiwo on Monday, May 15 to inform him that there was a development in the chapel and he eventually came over to show him the sack letter, saying that his appointment had been terminated.

From investigations carried out so far, there is nothing to show justification for the sack and members of the chapel and many other people are angry about the situation. The church has however decided to try to solve the matter amicably but seems to be making little progress with the wife of the governor.

For an example, The head of the church, His Eminence, Primate Emmanuel Josiah, is said to have written to the governor’s office. He was then asked to book an appointment with the First Lady. We are aware that the letter written to the First Lady is not being attended to; she is not even ready to make herself available.

He then said, “If not for ego, why should Mrs. Ambode feel embarrassed that she was not called first to receive the anointing? But when ego takes the better part of any individual, that person will misbehave and if you tell him or her the truth, he or she will not agree.”

He went on to say “We understand that Mrs. Ambode is also a pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, let her go and ask the RCCG Pastor, Enoch Adeboye, whether what she did was the right thing to do to a minister of God. It is ungodly and very sad.”

It was a happy ending for F.C. Arsenal and its fans as they concluded the 2016 / 2017 season on a high by defeating Premier League Champions – Chelsea F.C. in the FA Cup final match by two goals to one.

Once again, Alexis Sanchez showed why he is so important for this Arsenal side as he grabbed a very important first goal of the match for his side as early as in the 4th minute of the game to put them on the driver’s seat.

The game was a very competitive one as both teams went all out for victory from the blast of the referees’ whistle. Arsenal quickly got themselves into an advantageous position through the Sanchez goal before Diego Costa leveled things up for the Blues just some minutes after they had Moses sent off for diving in the second half.

Arsenal was not about to let the opportunity to win a title slip through their fingers easily as Aaron Ramsey scored the winning goal three minutes after the Costa equalizer and they held on tightly unto the advantage until the end of the game.

With this win, Arsenal has now won the FA Cup for a record 13 times in their history. It also makes Arsene Wenger the most successful manager in the FA Cup competition with seven final victories. It is also a fact that Arsenal have now lifted the FA Cup trophy in each of their last six final appearances.


This win probably justifies the reported decision by the Arsenal F.C. Management to extend Arsene Wenger’s contract by two more years despite the fact that the team had under performed in the Premier League this season by failing to get a top four finish on the table.

Nigeria and Manchester City’s striker Kelechi Iheanacho seems to have played his last game for the British Premier League team as he is reportedly very close to finalizing a move to another Premiership team.

According to reports reaching our News Desk, the young striker is all set to join West Ham United for a transfer fee of 24 Million Pounds which already has been agreed by both teams concerned. All that is left for the completion of the deal is for him to undergo the usual medical at West Ham United.

This move has become very necessary for the young Nigerian striker as a result of limited playing time at Manchester City under the management of Pep Guardiola especially since the arrival of Gabriel Jesus at the team.

It is however now expected that joining West Ham United will surely give the Nigeria international a lot more playing time and the opportunity to further develop himself as a footballer.

With the completion of this new deal, the 20-year-old Kelechi Iheanacho will become the current most expensive Nigerian football player in the world.

F.C. Barcelona and the issues surrounding getting a new Manager for the team to take over from the out-going Luis Enrique does not seem to be ending soon as more and more names are being thrown into the ring of late.

The most recent name that has surfaced is the immediate past Athletico Bilbao Manager, Ernesto Valverde. The fact that he has resigned from his post at his former club has given rise to rumours that he might just be on his way to F.C. Barcelona.

For those of our readers who are not aware of this fact, the 53-year-old Ernesto was a player with F.C. Barcelona sometime between 1988-1990.

Even Gerard Pique got involved in the rumours as he expressed his belief that Ernesto would be “a good option” to be the next Barca Manager. He went on to say;

“Ernesto has done a great job at Athletic the last few years,”

“He played here for Barcelona as a player and I think he could be a good option, as could others.

“I can’t decide myself on anyone and I don’t know who will be the next manager. It’s not my job and I haven’t put a lot of thought into it.”

It was a very glorious night for Manchester United F.C. and its fans all over the world as the team defeated Ajax F.C. of Amsterdam by 2-0 in the final match of the Europa League Competition played at the Friends Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.

ManU Manager Jose Mourinho proved once again that he is an expert at winning cup finals as he led his team to a record-breaking win for Manchester United.

This was the best way surely to console the people of Manchester who had just hours before this game been thrown into a state of mourning when the city lost 22 people to a bomb attack at the Manchester Arena with some 60 others injured. It was a perfect mix of angry mourners ensuring consolation for themselves and family members as “Commander” Paul Pogba (who is mourning his late father and now friends in Manchester) led the rest of the gang not just from the mid-field but also in attack as he scored the very first goal of the match for Manchester United making it his second in two consecutive games for his team.
