CrimeRe: Suicidal Man Prevented From Plunging Into The Lagoon In Leki, Lagos by uuzba(m): 3:01pm On May 09, 2019
Deepfeel:
We used to hear about suicide from the Western world nobody believed it it will reach to us hmm everything is changing so fast
Because of internet. We are exposed to western ways, trying to copy them and not succeeding because of no light, bad infrastructure.
We now get so frustrated.
Before colonialism, there was no city, no vehicle, no traveling about. People just stayed in village, farmed, eat, marry, born.
Now, that life style is NOT ENOUGH any more.
Everybody must be inside the city, to earn money, to buy phone and show off.
Meanwhile, village is empty.

Hedonini:
This isn't funny any longer. It is explicit abuse of power and tyranny. You just raid people and parade them for the cameras without foolproof evidence or investigation. Who are the complainants? Who did they defraud?

We must do something about this before it goes out of control and EFCC morphs into the new SARS who just arrest any young man arbitrarily and tag him a yahoo boy. Nigeria seems to be sinking to the depths of primitiveness on the daily basis.
Can you come up with a plan to policy cyber space?
Right in this forum, so many laws are broken. Violation of privacy, indecent language, unlwful soliciting ..Talk less of children disrespecting elders.
We haven't solved all those ones, how do you think we can solve yahoo boys and their defrauding activities?
Efcc is using simple procedure of probability.

It is highly probable that any group of young individuals using laptops and the internet, are not engaging in proper business.
Arrest them

And whenever they do, the people confess
PoliticsRe: Godwin Emefiele: 130 Textile Industries In Nigeria Have Collapsed by uuzba(m): 12:38pm On May 08, 2019
Sirjamo:
Which early nineties? PDP killed them all.
Textile industries collapsed because our border is open to importation of Chinese fabrics, which are finished goods.
People buy the Chinese fabrics because they are cheaper.

So who opened the border? And who are those patronising Chinese good?

Those are the people who killed the Nigerian textile industries.
EducationRe: UNN lecturer asks students to kneel down and raise their hands by uuzba(m): 12:27pm On May 08, 2019
mediaNGR:
A female lecturer at the University of Nigeria Nsukka allegedly punished her students for not sweeping the classroom by asking them to kneel down and raise up their hands.

According to eyewitness:

"This happened earlier today in 3rd year class, department of Microbiology, University Of Nigeria Nsukka.

No matter how anyone would want to look at it, this is outright insanity, to say the least. How do you mete out this kind of punishment to university students for not sweeping their classroom when we've got non-academic staff who're paid to get stuff like this donehuh

If people like this lecturer are not called to order, a time will come when they'd flog and physically abuse students and it will still be swept under the carpet. This is sheer humiliation and totally unacceptable."

Source: https://www.mediahelm.com.ng/2019/05/unn-lecturer-asks-students-to-kneel.html
Outright insanity?

The students are OUTRIGHT INSANE to carry out such a punishment.
This shows how lost and stupid you are!
Do you know know that you are a FULL GROWN ADULT in the university? NO OTHER ADULT HAS ANY MORAL OR CONSTITUTIONAL right to ask you to kneel down AS AN ADULT.

UNLESS ......
YOU ARE ALL SILLY CHILDREN, childishly running about in the campus, doing STUPID CHILDISH THINGS.
Therefore you have sold off your dignity and totally deserve to be punished this way BY A WOMAN, HOLDING CANEhuh?!!!!!

You student owe it to the ENTIRE HUMAN RACE, to BEHAVE AS RESPONSIBLE ADULTS and stop crying and complaining childishly on social media.
Nonsense!
CrimeRe: Nigerian Nanny Sentenced To 15 Years Over Death Of Baby She Force-Fed by uuzba(m): 12:18pm On May 08, 2019
sweetrace:
There must have been something wrong with that baby before she fed it. This is how our elders feed kids that don’t want to eat, and we have not heard that it killed anyone. Same way they use their mouths to suck out the mucus in the nose of a baby that has a cold. She was showing love and nothing else. That courts decision is not just. The right or wrong of an action depends on the intent behind it. Her motives were pure.
As good as America may seem, their laws are still hypocritic.

anyichiesunday:
Electric cars with out ⛽ can require charging, what of if batteries runs down?
In the old days, Nigerians were humble and docile. The person that does not have relaxed like that. We decided to copy Oyibos and get ourselves mobile phones. Today, people are running up and down jamming each other, looking to where to charge phone. Everybody is carrying power pack and charger on their neck. People go to church FOR THE PURPOSE of charging phone. Phone is their new god.

The oyibos we copied mobile phone usage from, are still under control.

This is the same routine that will be followed with electric cars. The batteries will run down, people will be jumping on okada with jerrycan to rush and buy fuel, china will come with rubbish car batteries that will set the car on fire.

This is how Nigerians think. You haven't solved the underlying problem of power, your eye is already on electric car.

I have solar panels, inverter, batteries in my house. The entire system cost me N1,000,000
I know how many times i have changed the 4 batteries,
I know how many times I have change the inverter.
I know how many times I have fallen back on my petrol generator when the entire inverter syxtem failed.
And I kknow what all these changes, purchases, maintenances have cost me
The Inverter company has SHAMEFULLY ASKED ME to use NEPA to charge up the batteries.

There is NO NEPA where I LIVE, that is why I got the 8 solar panels in the first place.

Do you have solar powered system in your house? This is the question I asked you?

The system does not work. The entire thing is a fraud.

What do we do? It is their states (especially Lagos) that is developed. Development is the after mark of colonial rule.
Everybody comes here(Lagos) to do business, so the locals just sit back and collect rent and tax.
We don't seem to be able do develop other parts of Nigeria.
So this will just continue

Ibcrown:
The cost of one of the cars alone is the total production budget for three top Nollywood movies
They are making the car, selling it and people are buying.
After releasing the film, majority will watch it legally in cinemas, and the money sent back to the car manufacturers. Or it will even serve as advert for the car brand, and more people will buy that brand .

They are not making any net loss at all

Na only tyres dem dey burn for Nollywood. The major objective of many producers here in Naija is to reduce production cost to its bearest minimum, Windscreen maybe shattered, dents maybe inflicted on the body of the cars. They dare not risk destroying a full/complete recent car otherwise the production cost will be high.
There's no basis for comparison.
America manufacturers cars from scratch, mining rock ores to get metal to produce steel sheets/plates, pressed into shape to produce cars. Engine, tyres, everything.
For them, manufacturing cars is like how we tap Palm Wine from trees.
They can waste as many as they like.

Pastors are already doing enough!! let leaders of other religions tow this line too instead of fomenting trouble upandan
Haha. Enough .
Jesus Christ that they claim to follow, said, "Greater love has no man, than to lay down his life for his fellow man".
This one is for ordinary man. Then for a pastor, who is even "closer" to God, do you think your own sacrifice should not be greater?

You will go and tell God, "I allowed the poor to suffer and die , because I had already done enough for some selected few of my favourite" (and broadcast it on TV for everybody to see).

Some Nigerian pastors should learn from this art of kindness.
That part of Christianity is not in their bible. They always skip that part of the Bible
Jesus Christ spoke openly to everyone. He didn't select his audience. He even climbed until of a hill and for 3 days proclaimed his message of peace. Everybody heard it. People asked question and he answered them.

Whey then do people choose to follow pastors that proclaim only ONE or TWO things that Jesus said, then throw away the remaining 99 things, like they never heard it?

If he had no papers and was committing financial crimes, then he probably deserves the trouble he's in. If he was arrested by mistake, that is another case.
This is our Nigerian problem. A person will go overseas for criminal activities. The family will all be in full knowledge. They won't condemn him, they won't talk. You won't see any story on social media.

A. If the person returns unharmed and gives them some cash $ ¥ € £, they will dance to church, praise him for doing "Well".

B. If the person is caught by the foreign police and sent to jail, you will see the family here, pretending like they never knew the member was into criminal activities.
