Foreign AffairsRe: What Are The Direct Implications Of Coup In Africa To The Rest Of Africa? by uuzba(m): 10:53am On Aug 30, 2023
Figger:
Democracy is not good for Africa, until then, let the military prevail. Forget about the west, we're not the people intellectually, so what works for them may not work for us. Democracy has not benefited us in any way. I remember in the 80s and 90s, things were way much better than now, so u can see the difference is glaringly clear.
The only thing that will really bite us about coup is that Telecoms will just stop.
No internet on any network.
Even Starlink won't work.

People are nervous and protective in these times.
It's not easy to display fantastic character to the public.
In general, people are squeezing their faces on the road.
So don't expect wonders in job applications or interviews.

6) Nigeria Has Alot of Human And Natural Resources, Yet We Are Failing To Understand How To UTILIZE Them - Hence; alot of people are always considering Travelling Out of The Country is Their Best Option.
In foreign countries, there's clear agreement how to utilise their natural resources, refine them and export for money.
In Nigeria, there isn't clear understanding of how to utilise the natural resources. You might get killed in the process.
Do you get a licence from Govt? Do you get licence from Area boys? Do you get license from Village chief?
how do you start to explore the resouces and who will leave you alone to setup your processing factory?
People kill each other, and leave the natural resource untapped, unprocessed.

Maybe somebody should do a documentary with all these old Nigerian things. So we can know our history.
As for Western countries, they typically just act a film and put all their old artifacts there.
Like Captain America. It has old clothes styles, drinks, hair styles, cars, aeroplanes...
They act such films to keep their history alive.

He applied for it on the internet and use that as proof on his visa application form.
He never played golf in Nigeria. But he just had an idea of the golf terminologies, ball, stick.. hole whatever etc.

What about we that our father and mother are from different tribes and we were born in another state? Which side are we to take in this silly idiotic tribe hating battle?

I think you should just use your phone YOUTUBE and start watching any videos about US cities to have a feeling of their country.
So far, I have learnt that TEXAS has cowboys and casinos, Utah has a lot of Mormon Christian people and more snow, New York is the expensive part with lots of street beggers and criminals.
The Southern states have different sounding people and not too much black people there. Those ones don't do all this NIgga-nigga bulshit..
Just a bit rough knowledge I'm sure about US.

Back in 2004 one of my mates went to the American Embassy, and viewed same frowning and disappointed rejected faces coming out of the interview rooms.
But for him, they gave him.
HOW?
Well first of all NEVER EVER let them know you are desperate.
His family is here in lagos.
His dad used to visit Ikoyi club and maintained membership. But how does that affect my friend?
Well, my friend saw that those big men in Ikoyi club come there to play golf, same with the oyibo people.
So my friend APPLIED for professional Golf Course in one useless school in US.
Immediately those Embassy people saw it, they started smiling at him.
This one is a BIG boy. He just wants to flex small in US.
The granted him visa.
My guy travelled to US went to the school and branched to another school and did all the runs necessary for permanent stay. In fact, he married a Nigerian girl there that already had papars.
Thats how he did his own O.
Today he has 4 kids and a successful business there. He has visited Nigeria llike 1ce or 2ce since that 2004.
Don't be desperate..

No fear here, maybe to a newcomer in Lagos state.

Agboro is a norm here that everyone just look and pass, even with their harassment.
There are some underneath falomo bridge in Ikoyi as well. For now they just sit quietly together at night. One night, when I passed, one of them just jokingly whispered "owo da". I just pretended not to hear and continue walking.
You see, that is a test.
Yes it is true things are hard for them and you may want to give money out of charity.
But if you dare make the mistake of giving them AFTER they mention "owo da", that's the end. That one will tell the rest to be doing owo da for all pedestrians. You can't pass that bridge again and as usual police will suddenly disappear.

I've heard it said that Nigerians so much distrust and hate the government.
So they go to all these churches left and right to get solace from the pastors.
... a place to get rest of mind.
Hence they happily donate whatever the pastor asks instead.
Nigerians will rather give money to pastor than give money to pay tax.
They are sure the pastor will pray for them with their donation money.
But they are not sure the government will do anything good with their tax money.

You didn't get my point. I wasn't talking of seeking help from government or corporate bodies or what have you. Rather, I was talking of individuals helping out in a way, which isn't available in most of the western countries where the government does almost everything for their people. I had lived in a couple of them, to say the least.

Help could come in different ways and forms, I agree. But not everything you share with the government or what have you. There are some issues that are better shared with individuals or family members due to sensitivity. But because such a structure isn't available in the west, many of them would just keep it to themselves, manage it, for those who can or fall in a depression and later commit suicide, if they feel its not manageable .

I remember a neighbour who walked to me and said her grown daughter still bedwets, someone old enough to even get married. She said her daughter feels depressed about this all the time. I don't want to sound religous here but she received a solution to that disgraceful experience. She's still in the university, I think. In the Western countries, such a pretty girl would have killed herself, due to the kind of the structure in place. Everybody is skeptical of their neighbours over there. This girl had been to hospitals, done several tests yet, no solution before i stepped in.

In another scenario, my wife once told me that her sister has been worried about the delayed conception. She had a son but wanted more. She said each time her husband meets her, the whole stuff would flow out, instead of flowing inside and fertilising her egg and her husband was calling her unprintable names already. She's been to hospital, they've prescribed drugs, et al, no solution.

Long story cut short, I told my wife to tell her sister that, when next she ovulates, she should tell her husband to reach her from the back and wait after pouring it inside for some minutes before pulling out. She became pregnant after that meeting. 2de, they have 3 children together, carbon copies of their dad.

The 2 examples given above were just a few,out of many. People would knock at their relations' or neighbours' doors and share their thoughts on burning issues and find succour. Can you walk to the government over there and discuss such? The answer is no. A nursing student told me she wanted to end it because she had failed a multiple times and she doesn't want to go back home a failure cos her parents will almost kill her. I sat her down, gave her the encouragement she needed . This November, she will graduate. She had to resit those courses, though she had an extra year. She's happy today. Can she go to the government to discuss such? I don't want to share what led to her poor performance here but its not money. She saw me as someone she could confide in and she received a solution.

There's a lady here, whose name I won't mention. She had spiritual problems, bad dreams, etc. She was feeling depressed at some point. I reached out to her personally, she did the needful. She came here to share good news. Such intimacy isn't built in the west and that's why suicide rate is so high oner there. Africa culture really helps in mitigating such missions.
In western world, bed wetting girl would have been taken straight to hospital. In UK, gets free treatment. Shey be it is thses Nigerian hospitals that are so bad, that our doctors are running away right there to overseas countries, to work in their hospitals with proper equipment.
These our same Nigerian doctors speaking French here will go overseas and perform miracles in their hospitals.

Been that way since the 80’s

UK people are “NATURALLY” stingy!

Rumors even has it that, Peter Obi learnt it from there.
The people might appear "Stingy" to each other and to you. But they are not stingy to their government as they pay bastardly high taxes and their government is not stingy to them as it gives them seriously high quality of life and security. Good roads, light, clear dustbin, serene and secure environment, responsive and smart police, working judicial system, child support, homeless support, that their FREE NHS (Free hospital), some level of free school nursery, primary, secondary..
They are already paying so much for their quality of life. They don't have any extra to just dash you

The number 1 reason is a very wicked one. No wonder they easily commit suicide, just because there's nobody to express their minds to. Everybody is just on their own. Too bad!
Let's get this straight.
Western people know that Everybody needs help. But they institutionalised their helping system..
Evrybodu can get help in multiple ways. Student loans for school, credit card for business, or charity for sick/disabled people, even homeless shelter.
The family members might not help each other because they know, you can just go and get whatever help money from government.
And if government refuses you, it must be because you have a bad habit you have refused to change that is maintaning a low credit score for you. Probably a drug addict or something similar.
They also have PATREON website, where you write your ideas and people donate to help your business.
I didn't think we Nigerians can get any help from that patreon for Nigerian business. It is meant for western people for western stuff. Dollar to Dollar transactions..
So, yes they do help. But in an organised way without favoritism..

I have never been a fan of Japa. If i am privileged to have a reasonable amount of money, I will rather invest it here in Nigeria.
People typically japa for the following reasons.:
1.to work/earn steady job under employer. So you don't have to think.
2. Security, no agbero, Boko
3. Utilities, constant light, water, gas.
They always plan to save the money there and come back to build something with it
But it seems the japa is also stressful as one can just work and pay bills without saving anything. Then one becomes too ashamed to return empty handed.

Nigeria is one type of country that countless times, those who sacrificed and toiled do not receive any reward. When they report issue to police or court case, justice is denied them.
Everyone has heard this news and as such people have lost faith in hard work.
They will just think, "After all, you that worked hard, what did you gain?"

This is the reason why people just prefer scams instead.
Don't forget that Nigeria used hIs hand to build this National theatre as a symbol of unity.
The building went to waste shortly after. Symbolising disunity.
Now it has be repaired but still not up to its former capacity, neither is it being used. - Symbolising confusion in the nation.
