Time value of money. He is right.
What you can buy with 1 million today, you can't by with 1 million even by end of this year because price would have increased...
buy dollar and keep under your mattress.
It's still savings abi? And the value will increase.

How about the BARBARIC practice of beating children to pulp that Africans tend to see as normal? How is that now affecting you as an adult?

Do you people raise hand against your loved ones? 🤔
Unfortunately I never experience this. Neither did any of my friends all through my childhood. So are we normal Africans?
I won't pretend that I don't know parents used to beat children. But that was never in my environment, here in all the places I lived in Nigeria.
I guess it's just a different lifestyle.
What I experienced, was being beaten by sadistic senior boys in boarding house in school. I never understood why they did this. But after so many years pondering, I guess they either copied each other, or some of them were children of police or soldiers who came from barracks and were regularly beaten at home by their frustrated military parents. So they carried the violence over to school.

I don't know what caused it but anytime I want to talk to the opposite sex, My heart starts to beat really fast. In short, I'm really shy in front of that gender but not that shy in front of my fellow men.
Might be shy at first but after like a day or two, I'm over it.
You don't have much money and you a good job. You're unable to promise the girl heaven and earth. And you feel she will look down on you when she finds this out. This is why you are shy.
You have to work on yourself. Live truthfully and stop trying to impress anybody. The girl that is normal headed will fall for you.

lexy2014:
Pls check the comment I responded to. He doesn't agree with u
When we subsidise fuel, it becomes cheaper right?
We buy more of it. Right?
We can run businesses. Right?
-
Because we're buying this fuel, EU who is producing the fuel, is "working" by producing the fuel. They have jobs to produce the fuel for us.
-
Now we're not subsidising, we are not buying much fuel again. EU refineries are not able to sell. They are not working. They will become jobless.
-
But we too are suffering joblessness, because no fuel to run generators to do our normal businesses.
No work for us, no work for EU. Everybody sits down jobless.
This is what 3 of us are saying,
You, the guy you commented and myself.

lexy2014:
Is it fuel Subsidy that is preventing job creation in Nigeria!?
Cheap fuel, you can run generators, run business, employ people
Expensive fuel, you can't run generators. Your goods will be too expensive to sell, business will collapse. No employment.
Subsidy= Cheap fuel
No Subsidy = Expensive fuel.
-
Whatever the case, we would have to set up another type of business model. For now, we suffer, trekking, job loss, no generator, no business.

But everybody still allowed him to be president which he is now.
So which magic will everybody perform now so that he won't steal our common wealth?
He will steal the common wealth and Nigerians will not do anything as usual.

Zupay:
You are busy showing off ignorance while forming intellectual.

Compare it to the UK, where when you are age 23 or over you can't be paid less than the national minimum living wage of £10.42 per hour, for a 23 year old who lives and works in Coventry, 60 hrs per week earning £652, after necessary deductions he should be going home with at least £500 weekly and that is about £2,000 monthly. He pays the rent for his room, £500(bills inclusive), monthly health insurance of about £90, food for £150, Monthly bus pass for unlimited bus travel within West Midlands that covers Coventry, Birmingham etc for £55, clothing, footwear and toiletries £300, phone subscription £25, hanging out £150......Oya, now compare him with a Nigerian graduate earning the minimum wage of N30,000 monthly.
Olboy.
The time I was there, minimum wage was like £5.25 or so. I was above, earning about £8~ish. Monthy part time take home was about £600~ish. Naira was 250 ~ 1 GBP. Roughly N150,000 for student work O.
E just pain me say, na there I dey spend the money. By now that same work would translate to about N350,000 monthly.
Student part time work O. 4hrs a day.

😋😋 Why are they complaining? They should pay and move on.
Everybody like london because it's very clean.
But that cleanliness comes about because refuse collectors do their work well.
They do their work well because they are paid
They are paid by the government who collects the money from "council Tax", a mandatory tax for everybody.
And council tax isn't cheap.
Everybody must pay it.

During colonialism and during our 33 year military dictatorship, the leaders BEAT patriotism into every Nigeria's head. But since we started this democracy, there is nothing like patriotism again. Nobody knows what the ideals of the nation are. Nobody looks up to emulate any leader. In fact, we are completely confused as a people. Doing rubbish up and down..

All their TV stations full of advert.

Ebay, Amazon are all Adverts.
They bombard their adverts in digital space because they have light/Electricity.
We bombard our adverts in REAL space because we don't have light/Electricity to compete with white people online.

Just about 10 years ago. . Entry level jobs in intercontinental bank, diamond bank, GT Bank, Virgin Nigeria, Unilever was as high as #185,000 - #200,000 after training schools.

Those days, an entry level staff could easily buy a very 2nd-hand or cheap brand new car. .

Today, most entry level jobs are contractual and the pay is around #70,000. . In a hyping inflation besieged economy.

Today. . Most of them can't even pay house rent.

How did we get ourselves to this level?
Buy performaning the biggest evil!
Selling money.

Foreign exchange is made available at CBN for businesses and manufacturers to use for purchasing equipment to PRODUCE A PRODUCT that would be sold in exchange for more foreign exchange.

But some F***ing smart people take the CBN foreign exchange, and give it to mallam to sell at black market rate....TOTALLY BYPASSING PRODUCTION of any products.

The result is INSTANT inflation. The money you have becomes less valuable. We now have zero industries. We can't been by petrol and diesel to even run the little ones that remain. And no salary to pay anybody.

Car TalkRe: Do You Still Drive Your Car With AC? by uuzba(m): 7:42pm On Jul 20, 2023
lifezone247:
Yes, yes and yes. AC has nothing to do with fuel consumptions. It’s uses gas when the engine is running. Make una stop that mentality abeg.
The gas is compressed by the compressor.
Once you turn on the AC the compressor clutch engages such that the pulley starts to work the compression engine. That is an extra work for the car engine. Extra work = Extra petrol.

It's like that tortoise story. Tortoise fell inside soakaway pit and was there for 7 days.
By mistake, somebody came to rescue him.
That's when tortoise started shouting, "Do fast-fast jor... This place is smelling".
The daughter is already in the abject poverty, managing her life.
When you manage to ask for her hand, she will start shouting that you are wasting her time in abject poverty.

Best thing so far, competent and requisite requirements should be the criteria and not age requirement.

Most of the private sectors are using this age limit stuff to pay graduate peanut in the name of graduate trainee because they know to hire competent hand will cost them.
They're not making that much money in the first place.
So they get the cheapest labour they can to do the work.
Don't work in such places.
If you are fully experienced, they will stress you out with unlimited work.
If you are a graduate, they will still stress you out with unlimited work.
No escape from the stress.

And expirence
Sorry, Experience will always be required.
If an employer brings you in without experience, they will have to train you to do the work.
They will spend time, money, and energy training you.
After 3, 4 months of training, you learn the work, then run away...
the employer would have just spent 3, 4 months training. He didn't work, didn't do any contract... Just training.
Then they find another person again and train...
The place will change to training center. They won't be working again.
Just training random people free everyday...
That is not a business.
So YOU, go and train yourself and scrape up experience ANYHOW-ANYHOW.
and use that to just find yourself a job.
or Kukuma start your own business with your experience.
