tsdarkside:They're not upto 1percent, I guess. |
Hahahahahahhahahahahhahahaaha ![]() |
asha80:I got an info from someone and he told me it is very possible. This person is trusted and has his hand on infos in Abia state government. There's a confluence in the east called the blue-river. This confluence river is quite deep and when dredged further, it will be able to accommodate ships. I am not say our governors should do it, if we can do it in partnership with the chinese, I'm telling you, we will go far. Moreover, this confluence river is closer to the sea than the 50 and 45mile cross river and portharcourt seaports. This is a matter of opening our region and let substantial activity run through it. We will be able to connect major sea-faring countries with this attempt thereby opening more markets for us. This is pure business and empowerment. |
cjrane:We cannot trust akwa ibom with anything. I know they fought with us in Biafran war we cannot base our economic strength in their shores. When the time comes, we will be at their mercy. We can only do what we can to make us self-dependent. Huge amount of money will be accrued from having a seaport there. We should stop comparing ourselves with these countries, it won't help. We should do what we can do manage this project, its the future if I must say. We need for once to be in control of everything that happens in our land. See what Lagos is doing to our businessmen, its not funny. We need to self-reliant. Airports cannot solve our problem neither the sea. This is a research I have painstakingly undertaken to come to this conclusion. We need to do what we can to get what we need. Calabar and other seaports apart from Lagos do not have the kind people like the igbos. Igbos will make judicious use its seaport if we have one. Please tell me one thing igbos have and benefits them they ignored. |
Since all of you have refused to see the importance of seaport, I'll have to take my time and educate you the importance of the seaport to igbos. Do you have cordial relationship with your neighbours? No Do they envy and hate you? Yes. Even if you force our brothers to invest home, don't deceive yourselves our brothers are not mightily rich like y'all think. For them to maintain constant production and this dead power system in this country, they need to cut cost at one point. If you check the two factors, electricity and transport, any manufacturer will choose electricity over transport. The eastern part of the country will make the manufacturer still spend on transport and the fear of his goods either being confiscated or destroyed in accident. Brothers, let them suffer one, first, that's power! Even if our brothers invest back home, what do you think our brothers are? MEGA-BILLIONAIRES? Please stop living in denial. We have few people that can employ 1,000 capacity and pay servicing companies. So, if you can't create a seaport, our brothers will still use our brothers to do very stressful work and we end up hating the billionaires, simple. What the seaport will do this, its going to open up things that you haven't seen before! The hurricane growth that will engulf the east will be tremendous. It will not be quantifiable. If it goes as planned: 1. Over 2million igbos will be employed immediately! At a spot. 2. Goods security for our brothers and investment. 3. Real Estate will grow drastically and our graduate will smile. 4. Different firms will spring up, everthing will start moving faster than any other thing. 5. The igbos will have power, they'll control their future if this happens. There are many more things that will happen if the seaport coupled with specialised rail system is used. I doubt if you will love travel out of this country. NB: our brothers are traders, importers and exporters. If you take their means of livelihood from them telling them they can live without the sea, you have just caused the highest disunity you will ever handle in this world. |
Let's leave peter obi. He is no more relevant even in his own village. |
Happy Birthday Mr Governor. God bless your new age. |
The rate at which these people stole money, you'll wonder what they're using those properties for. |
This is a pure case of pen being more powerful than sword. |
The funniest part about argument is not giving concrete evidence to refute another argument. A site (of which is not igbo's) gave a comprehensive information about the academic strides of people around the world, but some people from their sleep tried as much as possible to rubbish the post just because they didn't see their tribe represented positively in it. This goes to show how hatred has blinded reason and will continue to blind reason. It is not a new thing when you take a closer look at both tribes and see which tribe stands a better chance of making it academically or any other facet of life apart from propaganda sharing like their leaders are doing in recent times. The igbo youths have always been born into a society where you always have to use your brain 247 or else you will be left behind so fast that you won't know when you become nothing. That reminder has made igbos always try as much as possible to excel in their various pursuits in life. No yoruba man will come here and give me balderdash about their educational system because I can authoritatively say what's happening in the yoruba land. It was only recently (like. 6years ago) that yorubas start considering polytechnics and college of education as alternatives for their university woes! It was so hard for them because, the little space they had in the south-west was been shared with them in their land and still had strong competition from the igbos. This goes to show how the igbos are giving you a run for your money in your own land. The man that said Lagos doesn't have miracle centres is a first class liar and needs not say anything for a week because he has insulted men with intellectual capabilities. Lagos breeds different miracle centres of all kinds. It has eaten deep into the system that almost all the mushroom secondary schools promote their schools with it. You tell ghosts who don't know your region stories that can make pigs frown at you. The yoruba people do not create a competitive environment for themselves, but when igbos come, they tend to sit up but its always too late because the igbo man has already prepared himself to shoot you before you touch your gun. |
Take it or leave it, the igbo free-spirit and culture push them to be successful in all aspect of life has always been the driving tool to their success in life. They've always learnt to be forward thinkers and how to manipulate through obstacles to be successful. An average igboman doesn't want to be seen as a failure nor as a never-do-well. That's why he'll stay away from his family members to try and make it before returning home. Igbos are always driven by the passion to be on top and never be ruled over. That's a sound characteristic of a high-IQ'ed person. People with high intelligence do not like to be ruled over, they love their freedom and always show it everywhere. Igbos have never thought of yoruba as competition. They have never thought for once a yoruba man will outsmart them in any endeavour. That's the truth. Igbos were born to think they're superior humans. That has always made them stand out anywhere they're. When I was in primary school in the mid-90s, we had our classes from A - E, the guys that were topping the whole classes were igbos. This is not a false info. I can't start mentioning their names here, this is to show you how much the igbos compete with the yorubas in their own turf and their own educational system. In 2013, the best FUTA student was an igbo guy. So, what are we saying? There are many more records igbos still managed to drag with your yoruba brothers in the west. Your records are non-existent in the east. The igbos come to your place to drag university education with you. They top you in post-ume scores and you're forced to manage poly-technics and college of education(not that its bad). Check Unilag for instance, we can boast of 30% igbo population. Come to unizik, you can't even dare apply for the school because 1st, you think you can't match up with the competition. Igbo race still leads you and will continue to lead you. Its a cultural thing and not something you just start. Your culture affords you relax and do nothing. But the igbo culture doesn't. |
Nkwelle is a beautiful residential area with houses that can arguably compete with the ones anywhere. I love the fact that even as our brothers are running away from the region, they still have the brain of building at home. This is a very good trait in igbos which will help them in future incase anything happens. When my dad was advising us that we must build at home, we didn't see the reason at first but when I started reading and getting to know more about the economic and political stratosphere of this country, the best bet for any igbo man is to build at home without thinking twice. This is very important because if things change as planned, many people will run back home and they'll need their homes to stay. One thing in life I will never regret is the fact that I'm igbo and with this trait in me, I'll never let my people down. We will move forward no matter what it takes. Its not a matter of argument but it is the fact. We're going to use what we have to get what we want. |
Alcatraz001:I've been reading your comments lately and I can infer that you're more of an emotional human than a rational man. Thinking that you prefer a man who at present is a non-existent governor than a man that will make you guys enjoy the dividends of democracy is a slap to all people with intellectual abilities. |
I'm not trying to bash the governor, but its like Lagos doesn't have a governor. Nothing is happening in Lagos these days. Its like the governor is confused on what to improve in the state. Fashola created a big vacuum even the fat Ambode cannot fill. |
Thesame place I passed some hours ago? |
These pickpockets are something else. You'll marvel at their efficiency |
Easterners are trying generally, we have to give them kudos for that. We need to support the government and let's make sure that things work. There are some infrastructural facilities that are good but there are some facilities we need to make "state of the art" facilities. It is important. Beauty is a very important factor when you want investors. A dull environment doesn't speak well about a particular place. In all Obiano is try, but we need something that brings more energy! |
BuddahMonk:What people don't understand is that, if we keep building roads with active life of 2years, we will still remain in thesame position till forever comes. |
4dankey:We have the opportunity to make a substantial difference in the region. Even if they laugh, I careless about it. I need more people all over the country so that the ministry will move fast. I can use my next month salary to print fliers or pamphlet to propagate this message. Go to all these markets and meet these people one on one and enlighten them about this. |
People are saying how do we make these people super-rich. 1. We should learn to buy from our igbo manufacturers. I know we have different exotic cars in the country and its a shame that igbos do not patronise innoson cars. After the effort made by this man to build these cars, we still don't patronise him. We need to understand that if we patronise, he expands, he will build better cars with better specifications and he will be able to expand even to europe. Ibeto is trying to build his cement factory. Igbos should patronise him alone. Since he is going to employ our brothers, he should be patronised. Our brothers should be given artificial monopoly and let them enjoy it. The only thing we want these companies to do is open doors for servicing companies owned by igbos, so that wealth can be spread. We're going to mail these people too. One problem I have with Ibeto and Innoson is their inability to advertise and brand themselves as world class car manufacturing companies. The noise about innoson should fill the ears of africa. 2. We should have a distribution network. This network will cut across the whole country and in different states. They must get their products fast and when due. These distributors will be igbos. They'll make sure that their product will be seen by almost everyone in their respect states. 3. Government should give them waiver, give them undue advantage. Let them enjoy the environment. Reasons for making these people super-rich are these: 1. When they become rich in billion dollars, they will be able to attract investors to the region by relating with these investors. 2. These investors will see the region as fertile land to invest. They will now be open to the different opportunities in the region. Like the saying goes, rich man relates with rich man. 3. As part of the agreement on monopoly, they're going to sign an agreement to invite investors into the region. 4. One billionaire in dollars, will give rise to 10+ millionaires in dollars, and so on. These men will be able to create thousands of job for our teeming graduate because they'll employ our people. 5. These billionaires will build offices and industries in the region. This will make servicing companies, banks, insurance companies, advertising companies to locate their businesses close. 6. We're not going to give them total monopoly, we will have modular companies who will use the shining light of their big names to sell their own goods. 7. Their names will sell our region to the world and they will see us as good people for business. This will make foreign investors key into long term investment in the region. I am only in love with my region, don't be annoyed. |
Our economy must grow and we won't wait for the governors to grow them. Our governors can only do what they can but cannot over-push their boundaries. The money coming to the east from Abuja is too small for substantial development. The government will continue to remain shrewd in spending and this will make development slow and continue to be slow. I want my people to clear the notion that they need to come to Lagos to make it. Yes, Lagos has its own opportunities but what you get in Lagos always stay in Lagos. But if you stay in the east, in the house you built in your town and drive to your business area in your own car. You'll understand what it means by developing your own region. This is what I'm proposing: We will choose an igbo bank and establishment a development fund. This fund will go into research of new growing businesses in the world which we can do and make heavy profit. This fund will also educate our businessmen on better ways of doing their businesses. There will always be economic summit in the east or any part of the country and diaspora every six months. They will also fund businesses through loans payable within a particular time. This fund will also help new ideas come to life by advertising these ideas to igbo companies and create an economic pathway to prosperity. |
4dankey:Brother, your input will be highly welcomed when the time comes. |
tonychristopher:Oh! You killed it, diamond bank. Igbos are known to always hold meetings in different places they find themselves. They also form trade unions in different communities. If we can meet with the head of those unions to give us an estimate of igbos doing business in their markets or their locality, then we can take it from there. Igbos that hold meetings can connect their members who are civil servants to enlighten them about this project. They can ask us to come to each state and organise igbo economic forum on any sunday of their choice (based on their weekdays busy schedule), and enlighten them about the importance of this project. We won't head these zones but their leaders who they feel they can trust can head their zones and they can pay to a particular account where many people will co-sign on it. This will be a source of assurance that their money will not be embezzled by thieves. We also have world igbo congress around the world. Most of our brothers in the middle east are exporters and some are into business. They can also help. They won't be forced but their help will be highly welcomed. This project will mark the beginning of igbo unity of purpose. This will wake us from our dogmatic slumber and see the real potential of what you have. |
patrick89:With the few people I've met and discussed with. These project should be strictly private. That will make it come to life faster because if we wait for the governors to do it, we're strictly on a long thing. We brought out different ways to make these things happen. We need to initiate what's called "igbo and diaspora tax" system. This is a kind of tax system where igbos all over the place can donate an amount which is very comfortable to them with respect to their income every month. For a period of 5years. The diaspora tax system will be able to yield atleast 100billion every 3months if followed diligently. By the end of a year, we already have 400billion to do this project. With the Chinese already in the business of developing region and manage them for a particular time. We can partner with them and build the seaport together. We will only need to pay royalty to the state government when we finish it. I know its not easy but we're going to connect with our politicians in our region to bring this up in the national assembly and give us the go-ahead to fund the project ourselves, so that federal govt will not give us excuses. If we can build many major markets around the country, we can come together and build this thing with low import and export duty from people of igboland. Another way make these things happen is to enrich our already rich men. We will enrich to billionaires in dollars. We will build home-grown billionaires in dollars. This will enable us not only woo investors but will see these guys as eye-openers that the region can actually give them money if they invest. Yes, enrich them but with a prize! If we enrich them, they'll have the capacity to build world class factories and outlets and manage them well while employing our youths in business. These people will not be given money but will be supported and given a kind of monopoly (not total monopoly), that will make them produce. They will control the manufacturing but other people will control the distribution and sales of what they produce. This will spread wealth among people and in a way they still maintain the wealth within the region. We will need our brothers to bank in one particular bank and do transaction there, yes, that's what we should do. This bank will not only save our money but will also go into the research of new business opportunities and enlighten our businessmen on different businesses. This bank will also give payable loans to business owners that will delve into such businesses. We already have Zenith bank and Fidelity Bank. They're our best bet since its own by our brothers. This bank will also be able to fund many infrastructural businesses in the region. Our government should continue using money to build infrastructure. But they also need to use money to do business abroad! Yes, our government shouldn't be a government of pay salaries and repair roads alone. If our state government can do business with state fund. That's a good one! The profit gotten this business done outside this shores will make us forever rich. We won't need to wait for federal government for allocation before we pay salaries and finish infrastructural facilities. Buy shares abroad, do business with the with booming economies. Sell goods abroad and build real-estates abroad. They will give the state money and they won't be poor. There are many other things I'll love to say, but my fingers are aching me and don't mind my grammar pls. |
BuddahMonk:Brother, you nailed it! |
liberty300:Sir, I'm not trying to bring down Onitsha but saying Lagos is like Onitsha is you trying not to tell yourself the truth. Though, I know Anambra can be better than Lagos, I think with the available money in our account, we need assistance. Big time! |
Anambra state will grow in every sector but at different rate. Look at it this way, if you can develop the manufacturing sector of the economy, money accrued from it can be used to develop the other sectors of the economy, not exempting the fact that the other sectors are being developed in their own rates. |
BuddahMonk:I am telling you. The money coming into the state alone cannot develop the state the way it should be developed. Anambra state is blessed with rich people who can build beautiful houses but without planning and foresight, these riches might end one day without planning. If you depend on other regions for what will make your business boost, one day, the government of those people will empower its own and give him monopoly in business and you'll run out of business. Better done now! |
liberty300:Brotherly, please this place looks like ebute metta in Lagos. |
investnow2013:These people you say they're doing business in every part of the country just need to come back home. You don't what they'll face when it comes to transporting their raw materials to the east. Have you seen the accidents they face everyday? Please, check the number of trailers that have been shattered on their to the east. How many containers that have been confiscated in wharf because of "paper work". You'll have undue advantage when you run things in your region yourself. Its a long term advantage. |
chino11:You're not getting it. I am not saying each state will abandon other aspects of the economy, No. But developing what you have comparative advantage over other people will go a long way bring substantial development in the state. Other things will be there. For economy to be balanced, it doesn't mean everything will be developed at the same rate in the same percentage. No one can develop everything together, at all. What are we even talking about? The igboland is not too big that real development cannot cut across the different states easily. I am happy that these things are happening anambra state as we speak, but if you really look at the state, you'll still see that we're still struggling to open it up. We're only enjoying what patriotic anambraians are doing for the state. What we should be looking at is making the region what is called "come here or your business dies". We don't need to woo these people. I have worked with the chinese, I know what they think about our region. They knew igbos before they got to know the other people from other regions. They would've loved to business with us directly but we don't have what it takes to bring them down to the region. Heavy machinery cannot be brought to the east without passing through Lagos port. Any resources we need to produce our goods must be brought through lagos port. The number of accidents we see on weekly basis will at one time stunt the growth of these companies. The number of containers being confiscated in wharf will make our manufacturers run out of business. Our brother drive our bought cars from Lagos to the east everyday. Some are being seized before getting to the east, some got destroyed on their way to the east. If you want to see real drastic development, just create an opportunity for goods to enter the state through a neighbour seaport like that in Abia state. You will marvel See, no state can stand on its own. If you develop now and leave the other states, you'll be a rich man in the midst of poor men that will still make you poor. |
This is a business we can do ourselves. Channel your energy where you'll see results and not manage whatever you get from it. This is the truth. These multinationals are watching these eastern states closely and are not impressed so far. Why? You can change everything in a twinkle of an eye without spending too much in one time. Please look at the map very well see how the eastern states are connected to the different parts of the country. With an access to the sea and power generation from Enugu state we can develop faster than any west-african region. Someone was saying any power generated in Enugu will be taken to national grid, I think that notion should be scrapped. Eko atlantic will be a city where the power generated will be used for the city alone, so why can't we do that for our industries and multinationals here too. Giving them undue advantage will make them run back to us and sign long term investment proposal. This is simple. With 5000 mega watts capacity of our coal, we can do something for the industries. |

Or telling Germany the importance of oil, knowing they don't have that resource.
