Everyone should be clear about what they want to come and do in Malaysia.

Good for Holiday. Fair for schooling. Terrible to work IF you dont have a work permit.

Pay in Malaysia is not even as good as in Nigeria. Entry level banker in Malaysia will earn less than RM3k per month!

Malaysia boleh
TravelRe: Malaysia Visa by wanaj0: 6:56am On Jul 30, 2010
Malaysia is a beautiful country for those looking to go there for vacation. Lovely beaches and coastline.

Malaysia is made up of many races, one of the FEW countries that I know where you still indicate your race in any offcial form. The Malays are muslims and control the political power. Chinese controls the economy and they are like 'igbos'. They are hustlers to the core and any business they are in, difficult to break in.

East Malaysia (Sarawak and Sabah) are lovely and more laid back set of people. Crime rate is also lower there BUT not as cosmopolitan as West Malaysia.

Most things are skewed in favour of the Malays thats why non Malays (Malaysian Chinese, Malaysian Indians etc) see Malaysia as a racist country. For example Bumi's (local Malays) buy houses at a discount while non Malays dont have that priviledge. Appointments and other benefits are also skewed in favour of Malays. So Malaysians who are not Malays are not having a good deal and are now also seeking for greener pastures outside Malaysia.

Working in Malaysia without work permit is almost IMPOSSIBLE. You cant come and 'hustle' here. Dont forget as BLACK you stand out and easy to recognise.

Most Nigerians are students. Among the so called students are the yahoo yahoo boys. They tend to live BIG which makes Malaysians to detest them the more. This is because pay in Malaysian is relatively low so when they see black man living in splendour they start to wonder where teh money is coming from!

Apart from yahoo yahoo boys you also have the drug pushers!

Then for the female, prostitution is the in thing. They are competing with the Philipinos, Chinese and Thais in that market.

As per schooling, yes you have UK, US, Canadian, Australian etc schools. Cheaper than going to those other countries. Funny thing is that most Malaysians would rather school outside of Malaysia than in their own countries.

Now Nigerians only get 14days visa to come to Malysia just because of the way we have spoilt ourself. Before we dont need Visa to go to Singpore BUT that has changed now!

We need to be well behave so that we can be treated with respect all over the world.

Car TalkRe: New Chevrolet Optra Vs Tokunbo Car by wanaj0: 12:45am On Oct 26, 2008
To the guy that said Chevvy was introduced to Nigerian market in 2006, that can't be correct.

Bought my Chevy Optra in September 2006 and no issues whatsoever. Had a friend who bought his in 2005.

I bought it because for the price then, it makes a lot of sense.

Korean cars are doing well allover the world.

Bought a Kia Carens (Nizza Citra it was called) and was surprised at its performance.

For those buying Toyota, watch out for certain things. It may be Toyota assembled in Thailand, Malaysia or Indonesia. In that case, tell me the difference with Hyuandai and the Korean cars?

Samething with electronics.

In terms of quality, the gap is narrowing. Same for safety.

However Camry and Optra are not in the same 'class' so you can't compare. Camry is a high end car (luxury) while Optra is the middle class car. Camry should be compared with Epica.

All things put together, a one year old car is the best to go for. New car will lose 25% of its value once out of the showroom. That's the time to buy.

Starcomms bid was done. Payment was to be Monday 7th but now shifted to a later date.

Just learnt that it was 400% oversubscribed so people will only get a prorated allocation. Hopefully, now that the bid is completed, a date for payment will be set.

Yep that checks out. I think you need N20M to participate in the PP and that is for 75% of what they intend to float and the remaining 25% open to all-comers(IPO). I hope i'm not mixing up the info
Some delay though. payment not yet made for the 75%! Shifting of dates which to me indicate that something is happening!

FO2, WANAJO AND OTHERS ON THIS THREAD.

I am deeply touched and surprised that you guys are still posting here
despite the bandwagon movement. I want to personally salute your courage,
it shows clearly that you guys are mature men and not boys. You have also
demnstrated good leadership qualities. Please keep up the good work, just
know that someone, somewhere is being impacted by your action and
you are appreciated.

In any open forum, people should realise that you are bound to fight, settle
scores and move on, it must never be total. Diverse issues will be raised, and
truth is always bitter and difficult to swallow; wrong approach does not
invalidate the truth or issues being passed across, but we must be seen to
dissect the truth, hold unto it and amend our ways. Abandonment of any
kind does not resolve issues, you are only postponing the resolution day for
it will surely arise later.

A food for thoughts please and have a wonderful investment seasons and be expectant
of the BULL SEASON THAT IS AT HAND AND MAKE GOOD USE OF THE BOUNTIFUL
OPPORTUNITIES.
Migration was not because of a fight. It has to do more with how the thread/forum is being moderated. It started with people not being able to post without any notice nor reason. It became worse when charts could not be posted and no explanation was given. It was more like answers not being received for questions hence people had to go elsewhere where they think their needs will be met. Remember, customer is KING.

Point of note, rock bottoms are difficult to predict and enter. I enter when i see a stock that has entered or is about to enter a cheap zone/safe zone, particularly when i know its historic behaviour. If it looses slightly, no problem, you're already on the train and in the SAFE ZONE.The train will certainly come to over take your entry price while others will be scrambling to enter because they've been searching for Rock Bottom.
This is a post to be acrchive by all. If you committ this to heart, you will be safe on the NSE. Nice one FatherOF2

Right now, only 75% of the total offer is being discussed. The remaining 25% will be opened to the public at later date.

3 months ago, when the elders were warning that the bears would come, and teeth would be gnashed, some people almost had the elders buried alive. Now the bears are here.

Reminds me of the nursery school rhyme we were taught in those days ------

Now that the bulls are over
Bears are drawing near
Blood of the portfolios
Spill across the floor, Amen
Abeg, sack that your teacher!!! Which yeye rhyme be thathuh

That said, the coming of the bears is a usual occurrence. Those that think they get liver are getting exposed. See Fof2, that's someone who knows what he is doing!!!!!!!! I wish those using teh strategy really have a good grasp of what is going on.

Just waiting to unleash on Diamond, UBA and First Bank!!!!!

It supposed to be listed pretty soon rite?

House please advice though the cheque has already been written so i can contact assasins for the lady i paid to

@Wanjo,

I fear for you o, i am quite intrested in this OMATEK thing,  the MD happen to be my Aunty and it would be great if could throw more light into it so i could find out from her what is happening.
Don't see how you will make a loss from it.

Omatek is doing a PP. If your aunty is the MD of OMATEK, harass her for the amount that you want. If you know the MD of Afribank Capital markets, go to her to collect teh form. Reality is that MD of Omatek will be the one to do/approve the basis of allottment!!

Wanaj0,
Your math is a bit off. 200k units x 360 applications is 72M units. Or did u mean 3600 applications?

Anyway, not that I'm trying to get in but is there anyway you can post the prospectus?
Na tiredness jare!!!!

Don't have e-copy of the prospectus. Nothing special about it apart from the glossy paper. Quite a number of errors there. Figures not adding up.

However, the business is good. My friend will be meeting the MD of Omatek once she is back in the country and I will have more info then. For now, I am going for 10% of my initial plan!!!

@Wanajo;

What will you advice those of us in the diaspora to do, I got a scanned form (pre-signed)and send it off and I hope this numbering for the guys on ground will not put us at a disadvantage what do you advice ? .

I don't intend to buy more than the minimum unit.
Based on the procedure, no way a scanned copy will be accepted!!! I mean each for has two different signatures on it!!!
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by wanaj0: 6:51pm On Mar 25, 2008
Went to African Capital Markets to meet the MD who just returned to Nigeria yesterday. MD of OMATEK is still away so that she will not be pressurised on the allottment basis.

The offer was planned to last for ONE day (she confirmed this). Thats why it was not publicised (the MD was actually curious about how I got to know). The MD of OMATEK was the one that wanted enough time hence two weeks 17th to 28th of March (factoring the public holiday that becomes like 6days).

The forms are pre numbered. Not sure what that is for. Already sent a request to the MD through e-mail for some million units but was told right there that even 1m cannot be guaranteed.

Note that only 750m units are being offered. As at the time I got there the form has reached above 360 forms (from AFRIBANK Capital markets dicounting those from OMATEK). If everyone applies for 200,000 units that is already 720m units. So no one should apply for more than 200,000 units or else expect refund money.

Was told of the plan to complete the offer fast and also refund money for oversubscription within a limited time.

Got the prospectus but it is scanty with some errors. Overall, not as fantastic as CHAMS. However, it has a growth prospect.

If you can, shell out 270k on this. It will do well. That's all I can say here.
