na old joke, why is it only in Nigeria we make fun of our leaders, even if they are bad they still are our leaders
.
Every country makes fun of their leader. I don't think any country could surpass America in making fun of Bush. Bush was even at a party where someone was dressed like him and making fun of him to his face and in front of others. If making fun of the presidents was the worst thing then they would not be stealing like it is first nature.
RomanceRe: Why Do Men Cheat "4 Heaven's Sake" by wendymanda: 2:22am On Dec 21, 2007
Because it is more acceptable, when a woman cheats she is stoned to death literary or otherwise. However, when men do it they are 'players' 'dogs' 'pigs' 'idiots' 'in midlife crises' anything but being ostracized like women do.

PoliticsRe: Was Colonialism Good For Africa? by wendymanda: 4:24am On Dec 19, 2007
Is Africa being recolonized again with the presence of Chinese? A magazine report, I think, Ebony details the presence of Chinese in Nigeria.
Yes. I am forwarning Africa. The Chinese and Japanese are coming in and using our resources and claiming that they are helping us but they are not. Consider this, they come in build factories for "us" and employ "their own people" while we are jobless.

My friend don't embarrass yourself. OK. Everyone knows statistical is a word. That's not the issue. You said: Do you have any statistical, . And here was my question to you: What is a statistical? Since you don't seem smart enough to figure it out, let me help you out. You used statistical as a noun when it is in fact an adjective. If you really meant to put data instead of that, then next time, look at what you type. And use the Modify button to correct errors so people can understand what you type. English is not my first language either, so you have no excuse.

So now not only have you proved yourself to be stupid, but you have absolutely no ability to infer and read between the lines. The only reason I even bothered you is that you implied the OP did not have any backing to his claims when you could have just done a simple search and saved yourself from looking like a dunce. Treat others the way you want to be treated.
My friend you are the only one embarrasing yourself by looking for stupid errors. Since your so smart you could not simply figure out data. Also common sense might tell you that people make mistakes. Do you go from thread to thread looking for everyone who has made a mistake? You are really stupid in your argument. Well now you know that "a statistical" is an unfinished sentence for "statistical data." If you have another idiotic question please let me know. The reason I mentioned that English is not my first language isbecause its not top priority when I an typing on a thread if I make a mistake. Now when I write an English paper I read to ensure there are no errors. So please stop proofreading thread posts as I am never going to use them as resume. Get a more worthwhile job. If you still can't find one, maybe you should also chastise me on my punctuation.

TravelRe: Pictures Of The Week (Ugly Side Of Lagos) by wendymanda: 5:42am On Dec 06, 2007
When you are done showing all the bad stuff can you please show the good suff too so we all know that at least there's still some sanity and serene places in lagos?and while you are at it you might just want to tell us if there arent slums or ugly places like that in any major city around the world?
I think why the poster has shown pictures of the "bad stuff" is because regular and poor people live in those areas while the "good stuff" is hoarded for tourists and the rich. Now if we were to go around showing "good stuff" wouldn't you agree that it is an unjust disregard for the common man? Many of the big cities around the world don't use cardboardesque decorations to blind the tourist whilst others are ravishing? They try and make the big city evenly magestic.
PoliticsRe: North And South-South On Same Level Of Educational Achievement-yakassai by wendymanda: 5:35am On Dec 06, 2007
In your case, the 3/5 = 60% and 3/50 = 6%. Therefore, you can say Mr. (what's the other teacher's name again?) has a higher success rate. That was what Yakassai meant in terms of Northern Nigeria and South South being at the same level. If he had said more students in Northern Nigeria pass than in the South South, then that would have been a rubbish comparison as the population size is not taken into consideration.
However, plus, then, and he is still wrong in his comparison despite the fact that this is not an economic analysis. I agree with the first guys reasoning that this is uneqal comparison. He should have stuff to talking about the North rather that bringing in the South- South.
CultureRe: Getting Overcharged In Shops Based On race or socio economic class by wendymanda: 5:25am On Dec 06, 2007
I would not classify this as racism but I can understand how you would as you are experiencing it. The reason they do it to you is because they assume since your not African you are more wealthy. Not saying its right but I guess when you call them out on it they change? Anyways try and go somewhere else.

Last, can someone please go to Yar'Adua and tell him that arms are not what the Niger Delta people need?
They need jobs and better structure.
Nigeria needs to make the oil companies train and hire the indigenes of Niger Delta, that will help alleviate the problem of unemployment.
Nigeria also needs to charge the companies on cleaning up the spilled oil.
Nigeria should charge the oil companies to fund the building of roads and highways and the upkeep of them.
Nigeria should not allow tankers to roam the streets as if they are regular cars, because they are not, they are dangerous. Because roads and highways are not developed enough for these tankers to raom in the day, they should only roam at night when traffic is at a minimum.
?do the tankers fill up the stations during the day or at night? if during the day, they shouldn't be allowed to do so.
These companies owe Nigeria a great debt and they should pay.
I wanted to start a topic on "What has Yar'Adua done for Nigeria since his election" but I don't know how to start topics neither do I have time to find out the ease with which it can be done.
Anyhow I love the points you have raised. Do you know how much other countries charge companies to help them? Why won't the Nigerian government make some companies help. Even the litter problem in Lagos looks disasterous. Also the government could try to stop the importation of stupid electronics that pollute as no one can use them. Outdated fridges that are illegal in other countries are brought to Nigeria.
I was watching how the 419 people get American email addresses and tap into information because people send old, useless computers down there and if they can get any use out of it why not use it to rob others.
Another thing I liked was that the government should make those companies try and employ Nigerians. Sometimes I wander if the government officials even have the brain capacity of birds. Think about it, why instead of having those companies employ people from their country to build roads, why don't we employ ourselves. So that when those people leave we can fix it ourselves. We hear and jump for joy when we hear Japan or China is working for Nigeria or Africa. All those countries are doing are a new form of colonization where they tap into our resources with us making very little profit. Maybe because we are so used to not gaining very much in return we are happy as they are not holding a whip and calling us derogatory names. Why can't we easily go to those countries and get work since we are in 'so close' a business relationship.

I know of some stupid Nigerians that come to America and want to start business. These business men that have maybe primary school education are in the business of taking back crap to Nigeria. I know this one that wants to take used cars. When I say used cars I mean the ne you buy for $500 and use for a few months. I kept thinking are you helping or hurting your country. We already have reckless idiots for drivers, not enough or no traffic lights, now more comotion with those health hazards.

What is a statistical? Please type in correct English. And if you just did a  simple google search you'd find numerous articles to back up the claim.
@ dtw_sol
In  trying to make some one look stupid you turned the mirror on yourself. You have never heard of statistical? In case you did not know statistical is a word. The error I made was by not saying "statistical data" That is the big error you caught thereby granting you a standing ovation. English is not my first language, however there was nothing un-English about it, except I did not put 'data'. Mr. English professor, next time you want to correct someone especially on their English, you might want to make sure your understanding of English words is up to par.
TravelRe: Pictures Of The Week (Ugly Side Of Lagos) by wendymanda: 7:43pm On Dec 05, 2007
People get angry when the truth is revealed. Deceiving ourselves about the reality of Lagos will not change the fact that it is almost a health hazard. Last Thursday Robert F. Kenedy came to talk to my school about the environment. At some point he made the comparison what what a shame that America almost has as much air pollution as Nigeria. I was so embarrassed, upset and angry that I walked out of the lecture. I knew he was talking the truth but I did not want my friends to know that the country I rave so much about has more problems than America. We might be ashamed and want to ignore it but the truth will come out and it is better we prepare ourselves than to live in denial until someone we were hoping would be the last to find out, finds out.
CultureRe: What's Expected Of Nigerian Women by wendymanda: 1:53am On Dec 05, 2007
It simply depends on the husband. But my wife must be a medical doctor by the grace of God and she must also be a mother. This is one of the reasons i only want to marry a naija girl, because they can combine both, in other countries especially in yanki, because a girl is now a medical doctor and sophisticated she can't cook and would rather eat out and employ a nanny, God forbid bad thing. Also, most of all she has to be a very very strong christian.
Are you a doctor?
