Attempt by leaders of catholic church in Anambra State to agree on who the church would support in today’s decisive election of a new governor in the state failed as they could not decide whether to ask their followers to vote for Senator Chris Ngige of the APC, Ifeanyi Ubah of the Labour Party or Willie Obiano of APGA. The meeting which was said to have been convened by Archbishop Valerian Okeke of the Onitsha Archdiocese, ended in fiasco as Nnewi Diocese were said to have walked away in protest when they suggested that Ubah should be placed as their first choice, The suggestion of Nnewi Diocese that Ubah should be place as first choice was because he is currently building a cathedral for them at Nnewi but majority others were said to have preferred Ngige, adding that he should either be placed as number one choice or nothing else. However, Archbishop Okeke who presided over the meeting, was said to have declared both candidates ‘no victor, not vanquished’ and asked all to go home and tell everybody to vote for candidates of their choice. During the meeting, Ngige was said to have emerged tops on the poll which the church heads conducted with Ifeanyi Uba trailing second and Obiano third but the APGA elements tried to blackmail Ngige by alleging that President Jonathan doesn’t like Ngige and asked that him (Obiano) be adopted but the blackmail also failed as the argument split the church leaders with some saying that even if Ngige should not be preferred it certainly cannot be Obiano that is unknown.www.vanguardngr.com/2013/11/anambra-catholic-church-leaders-disagree-choice-ngige-ubah-obiano/ |

The Leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Rivers State Chapter today, Friday expresses dismay over Governor Rotimi Amaechi declaration of Public Holiday from Friday 15 to Monday 18, November 2013 in Rivers State PDP in a statement signed by Bro. Felix Amechi Obuah, PDP Chairman, Rivers State said it believes that this action of the Governor is a demonstration of his characteristic abuse of authority and blatant disregard of the economic well-being of citizens of the State which does not come as a surprise; as it is a grand design to achieve forced mobilization of State civil servants, and indigenes of Anambra State to cast votes for the APC candidate in Anambra Governorship election on Saturday, November 16, 2013. Or else, what then is the rational for the sudden pronouncement of Public Holiday for Friday 15th at the close of work on Thursday 14th November 2013 by Governor Amaechi, while he is far away in Lagos with members of his cabinet, attending All Progressives Congress, APC, meetings?, the Party queries. Let it be known by all, that after Monday, November 18, 2013 Rivers State people and indeed the rest of Nigeria will clearly understand the true reason why this unwarranted and embarrassing public holiday was declared. The Rivers State PDP therefore cautions the Governor to ensure judicious use of State’s funds and other resources other than squandering them on his selfish interests and inordinate quest for political relevance through sponsorship of APC candidates and activities outside Rives State.www.vanguardngr.com/2013/11/amaechis-declaration-of-public-holiday-to-help-apc-candidate-in-anambra-pdp/ |
An Ibadan High Court on Friday sentenced one Saheed Sogaji, 28, to 21 years imprisonment for conspiring and robbing a man of a motorcycle. Justice Bolaji Yusuf said that the prosecutor had been able to proof the charges against the accused beyond reasonable doubt. He sentenced Sogaji to seven years imprisonment for conspiracy and 14 years for robbery. The judge said that the sentences were without option, adding that the sentences would commence from the day Sogaji was put in custody. Earlier, the Prosecutor, Titilayo Dairo, told the court that Sogaji and others faced two-count charge of conspiracy and robbery. She said that Sogaji and his colleagues now at large, conspired to rob one Kehinde Isiaka of his Bajaj motorcycle with registration number LUY 080 OA, on March 26, 2012 at Odo-Ona Elewe in Ibadan. The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 516 and 401 of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Vol. II Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria 2000. Sogaji had, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges. The Defence Counsel, Mr Fola Awoyemi, prayed the court to temper justice with mercy with his client. Awoyemi said that Sogaji, from Cotonu, had been in prison custody since March 26, 2012, adding that he had also lost his parents. www.vanguardngr.com/2013/11/man-28-bags-21-years-imprisonment-snatching-motorcycle/ |

All na Politics abeg! They are all friends, these political talks are made to outwit one another or to seek voters' sympathy. TINUBU of APC made worst speeches against Mimiko when campaigning for APC during the last gubernatorial election in Ondo state. |
collynzo2: Ondo state government also rewarded Oboabona specially after the AFCON victory, I didn't see anyone cry because of that. It is not like Okorocha filtered out all the Igbo players and rewarded them, he only rewarded those from his state. You don't have to read tribalism into everything, only a truly tribalistic mind does that. And Oboabona does not come from Ondo State. It means Mimiko sees/considers himself as a Nigerian first before seeeing himself as a Yoruba man. This is a laudable effort. |

It is like na this nPDP people dey beg Jonathan for dialogue o.Jonathan don turn political don and godfather be dat o. From the way nPDP they talk nw,they seem to ve realized dat the game is up and dat they ve lost the struggle, they are on their knees begging Jonathan to call for a dialogue to save themselves frm becoming irrelevant once a truce is made. Anyway,me dey see divisions in their ranks sha. But it is going to be disgusting, downgrading and humiliating if the nPDP eventually wil av to send obasanjo to Jonathan to plead/beg on their behalf before they cld be 'reinstated' back into the PDP. Make we keep our fingers cross o as events dey unfold. |

Patrick Obahiagbon giving his condolence on facebook; "The grand initiation of Professor Festus Iyayi is a lancinating loss of another stentorian voice, against retrograde and prebendal forces of primitive mercantilism. That he passed through transition on matters pro bono publico, bears eloquent testimony to our state of dystopia.Such is the evanescence of life. Its all vanitas vanitatum...." |
Governor Idris Wada of Kogi State now has the notorious reputation of having the most reckless convoys in and around Nigeria, as drivers working with him are well known for dangerous driving on the highway. The same Governor almost died some months back when the car he drove in somersaulted on high speed on the Abuja-Lokoja express way. Today (Tuesday), Governor Wada's convoy rammed into the car of former ASUU President, Dr. Festus Iyayi on the same express and, unfortunately, he died instantly. According to eyewitness report, Dr Festus Iyayi, a well-known Nigerian novelist and activist, was on his way to Kano to attend a meeting of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) whose members have been on strike since July. The union’s meeting in Kano was called to decide on a possible calling off of the strike and a return to the classroom. Nigerians and the academic community will miss Dr Iyayi greatly. He was born in 1947, in Ugbegun, Ishan, Edo State. In 1968, he left the shores of Nigeria to pursue higher education, obtaining a M.Sc in Industrial Economics from the Kiev Institute of Economics, in the former U.S.S.R., and his Ph.D from the University of Bradford, England. In 1980, he went back to Benin and became a lecturer in the Department of Business Administration at the University of Benin. A well known author, with four books to his credit (Violence, The Contract, Heroes, and Awaiting Court Martial), Prof. Iyayi won the Commonwealth Prize for Literature for his book Heroes in 1988. www.olufamous.com/2013/11/governor-wadas-convoy-kills-ex-ASUU.html?m=1

Authority sources within the government circle in Ilorin, Kwara State have revealed that the executive Governor of the State, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed is once again a darling father of a baby boy, courtesy of his pretty mistress, Yinka Olanrewaju. Our impeccable sources confirmed that the boy, who is said to be a split image of the Governor, was delivered on September 9 in the state capital, Ilorin. The story of the pregnancy of Yinka and the romance with the Governor made the rounds early in July, but it was frontally denied by the media team of the gGvernor. “Now, the chicken has come home to roost, let them come out again and deny. It was as if the poor tot knew the kind of controversy surrounding his coming. So, he decided to share his father’s image, it was as if ‘megida’, Governor Ahmed, vomited him,” our source disclosed to us. The source revealed that Abdulfattah has accepted full responsibility and everybody is happy now. However, while Yinka, the mother of the boy and lover boy governor are excited, the story might be different with the First Lady of the state, Omolewa who reportedly relocated abroad and now visits the state house occasionally from her base abroad. “She was around about a month ago; she stayed for about one week before she travelled back. “The woman is really nice; her gentle disposition to life cannot allow her cope with the kind of environment she found herself in government house. “She is a born again Christian with a very strong passion for the less privileged and the low level women, hence her Leah Foundation, which has endeared her more to the rural women unlike the previous dispensation,” said a source. Omolewa was said to have finally made up her mind to leave the turbulent life in the state house sometime in June when she got wind of the pregnancy of Yinka, who is the daughter of an influential Ilorin-based business mogul, the late Alhaji Oseni Olanrewaju, even while she was battling to conceive herself. “This issue of Yinka was not the first she had to contend with, though she’s not the man’s first wife, the fact remains that the Governor gave her his words that no other woman will come in between them again and Omolewa trusted him absolutely, not minding his reputation as a lady’s man,” said a source. Late last year, the issue of one Igbo lady, Ciphering was at the front burner, Omolewa never believed her husband was sleeping with this young girl, whose mother was a cook at the press centre, but a source told us their relationship dated back to the girl’s secondary school days at St. Anthony College, a school she left in 2004. “When Ciphering became pregnant for the governor last year, it was real hell and the storm which occasioned the pregnancy only abated when mother and child relocated abroad,” our source added. glamourogo..com/2013/11/kwara-state-governors-mistress-delivers.html?m=1

The President also said: “You will also be honored, you the team, the handlers, the coach, and the officials including some key members of the supporters club and the Nigeria Football Association will be rewarded when we give national honors.” He appealed to state governments and businessmen to support the little token given to the team by the Federal government. A Syrian lawmaker kidnapped by opposition jihadist fighters earlier this year was executed last week, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Sunday. A parliamentary source in Damascus, on condition of anonymity, confirmed that Mujhem al-Sahu from Deir Ezzor province in eastern Syria had been executed, without specifying who was responsible. The source said 50-year-old Sahu was killed in Deir Ezzor but gave no additional details. Last month, the Observatory reported that another Syrian lawmaker, Mohanna Faisal al-Fayyad, a Sunni, had been kidnapped by Islamist and jihadist opposition fighters. The monitoring group said Ahrar al-Sham rebel fighters and jihadists from the Al-Qaeda-affiliated Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) abducted Fayyad on October 27. He was kidnapped after two days of clashes between members of his tribe, which supports the regime of President Bashar al-Assad, and rebel groups. www.vanguardngr.com/2013/11/syrian-mp-kidnapped-executed-jihadists/ |

Nollywood actress, Cossy Orjiakor who has gained a sensational sex identity is currently a happy woman as she is set to hit another gold mine with her endowment. The actress was reported to have agreed to a deal to insure her bloated mammary glands for a whooping $1.6million amounting to N256million. The deal according to source, was introduced to her by an American friend who also dragged Enhanced Silicon Inc. responsible for insuring breasts of famous foreign celebrities into the deal. The company, which insured the bosóms of Pamela Anderson and Dolly Parton agreed to the deal just before Cossy’s recent birthday bash, where she displayed her endowments for the world to see. The booby actress will be travelling to Los Angeles in two weeks to sign on the dotted lines. “I specifically asked for $1.6 million,” Cossy was quoted as saying. As part of the deal awaiting her signature, there will be limits on how many men and women who would touch her bósoms each month. Also, the bósoms have all been given names and must now be treated as people in future movie roles. That means that Enhanced Silicon Inc. will determine how much a movie producer will pay each bosóm for an appearance in a movie. “The downside of the deal is that I may get dressed’, Cossy added. Cossy seems pretty excited about the deal as sources maintained that each of the endowment will be named and anyone who prefers to touch will have to pay for it just as Enhanced Silicon Inc. will henceforth, decide the amount producers will pay per breast, for appearance in a movie. www.vanguardngr.com/2013/11/cossy-hits-gold-mine-insures-boobs-n256m/
