PremierGuy:Stop that false narrative. Hillary was never miles ahead of Trump in the polls in 2016. Few weeks to the elections the, Hillary's lead was even within the margin of error. |
xest:The one that would ask her to sow a seed and then fast and pray for 40 days in order to see a breakthrough. Instead of churches to use church donations for helping poor and vulnerable members of society by providing free social services like education, health care and accommodation, they are too busy exploiting the same people. |
loneprof:Best advice. Since you know the baby daddy and his contact address. Contact human rights organizations to take up the case. I don't know much about our paternity laws, but I am sure he will be asked to pay child support for the upkeep of his biological children. |
Fantasticcc:You guys are the ones that make it all about hate, hatred for Buhari even before he contested for the 2015 elections. Then the hatred got to psychosis levels after he defeated a Ebele Azikwe. The hatred was then transfered to the "wasted side" for voting for the disaster as you put it, despite Buhari garnering only about 40% of the actual votes. You guys conveniently forgot that Ebele Azikwe was already borrowing just to pay salaries when crude fell to about $70 to the barrel, and his finance minister warned of tougher times ahead. Now, I am not exoneration the Buhari administration for financial recklessness, but the blame should not squarely lie with the administration. The National Assembly which comprises of people from the " Waste side" and the "potopoto republic " also carries most of the blame. That is because the power of the purse belongs to the national assembly. The government cannot borrow $1 without the approval of the National Assembly, in fact it cannot spend N1 without approvals from the national assembly. So how come the national assembly are behaving as if they are oblivious of the precarious financial status of the country? It is either they are not doing their job or they are complicit. |
Beosten:I left Christianity because of Christians like you and your church member. If really you get visions, then I am sorry to say God is wasting the visions on you. What's the purpose of giving your visions if you cannot pass such visions accurately to avoid calamity. So, if the person had died because of the message you failed to deliver, who will be blamed? Even in the bible prophets were burdened with passing unpalatable messages to very powerful kings, and here you are of being afraid of losing a church member. Even without visions, did you ask your member what he wants to do abroad that he spent a fortune to procure a visa? Is the streets of abroad paved with money that he will just be picking off the streets? Could be not have put the money to better use here, either by starting a business or learning a skill. Most likely, the member would engage in criminal activities or constitute a nuisance in the foreign country. A good man of God would advice his followers on ways of making legitimate earning and not engage in "get rich quick" schemes. |
dragunov:It's entertainment. Many people find it entertaining. It's like any other film or series, eg, telemundo, prison break, James Bond, etc, there are fights, drama and love scenes. If a show like BBN can render many Nigerian millions of youths directionless, then Series such as Game of Thrones, 24, prison break will render many more directionless. |
jollymizzle:You think they don't already pay huge taxes to both the Federal and State governments? No one had ever accused Multichoice, owners of GoTv and DSTV of not paying taxes. You think Lagos State government plays with its taxes? Ask Glo what Lagos State did to its office because of taxes. DSTV saw that they made more profit from Nigeria than even south Africa. So they decided to concentrate on BBNaija instead of BBAfrica. The first of BBN was held in South Africa. They Ferried the contestants, officials and guests to South Africa. It was a very successful show in which Katung won. The government and Nigerians cried fowl, that it was condescending and a disgrace for Big Bother Nigeria to the held in South Africa. So the next edition was held in Nigeria with Multichoice investing billions of Naira to build and equip a studio in Ilupeju Lagos. Once again you guys I call "Voltron - Defender of the Moral Universe" is at it again, you want the government to completely ban the show. So I now ask, what exactly do you guys want; To move Big brother Naija back to South Africa? Or to move it to somewhere else like Ghana or Cameroon? Or to Ban DSTV and GoTv from operating in Nigeria altogether? |
ethicallyright:Imagine Nicki Minaj in the holy land of Mohammed. Anyway it should not come as a surprise. The House of Saud has seen that the future of oil is bleak and soon free oil money would cease to flow from the desert. So, they are beginning to court foreign investors and tourists. They still have the tourists goldmine of mecca and medina though. It's countries that have free money from natural resources that has the luxury of chasing away investors in the name of morality. If a country depends on actual production of goods and services to survive, you think they would care about what women wear or people drinking alcohol? |
ethicallyright:People like me in helms of affairs I am non religious, non tribalistic, abhor corruption and believe in telling people the bitter truth. Even the Nigerian masses would not accept people like me. |
Nigsrdumb:I wish we could split Nigeria into 3 countries along religious lines, instead of tribalism lines - the north for fundamentalists muslims, the East and west for fundamentalists Christians and the South South and middle belt for liberal Christians and Muslims, and free thinkers. Then you guys will be free to convert your morals to constitutional laws. |
jollymizzle:Are you aware that the organizers of BBN spent close to N2.5Billion to organise the show? Or that the show alone employ over 300 youths directly and hundreds more indirectly? Then we are not talking about Multichoice itself, which employs tens of thousands both directly and indirectly. If you drive foreign countries doing legitimate business on Nigeria because of morality, what message are you passing to other foreign investors? Even U.A.E. had to suspend morality in it's main cities to attract foreign investors and tourists, in order to boost it's economy after oil. You are talking about morals now because we still have free oil money from the Niger Delta. If there was no free money for both the politicians and youths to he fighting over, don't you think Nigerians will be begging foreigners to come to Nigeria and invest billions, so youths can find jobs? |
ethicallyright:Don't mind the ignorant moralists tying to force their religions on everybody by force. The period of Christian supremacy was the worst period in Europe. It was what was called the dark ages, where the people were oppressed and exploited and had all their rights taken away in the name of religion. Europe did not start making progress until power of the clergy and the monarchs were curtailed and freedom and Democracy took over. Theocratic societies thrives only under autocratic monarchy. Christians and Muslims in Nigeria wants to turn Nigeria into a theocratic state like Iran. |
dragunov:Who told you it does not contribute positively to mitigate the problems the Nigerian youth finds himself facing? Do you know how many youths have been employed or made money through BBN? |
jollymizzle:Then bring the money and sponsor Golders Ultimate Search or Jollymizzle Ultimate Search. |
jollymizzle:It's not moral decay that made the Europeans colonize us. It's not moral decay that caused the civil war. It's not moral decay that made all governments in Nigeria - both civilian and military fantastically corrupt. It's not moral decay that made the country, especially the far north, the poverty capital of the world. Your moral decay is someone's else's moral increase. Learn to keep your morality in your homes and churches and leave others with their own morality. |
sidonlook:The Ooni is wrong. We are in a global village, where everybody is connected to everybody else. So unless you want to Bank the Internet and satellite communications, you cannot stop people from watching what they want to watch. The government allows it, DSTV delivers it, produced by BBN and watched by our LAZY and IDLE people does not make it right. We are living in a free world - A democracy. You cannot impose your idea of right and wrong on others. We are all subject to the constitution and the laws of the land. The government and the politicians did wrong , suppressed us and gradually mortgaging our future is not a enough reason for the youth to waste their time on programmes like BBN ,that profits them nothing but makes them poorer.I don't understand this your point. Is the government paying the subscription of Nigerian youths and then forcing them to watch? Whenever you watch, you waste your productive time.Likewise, whenever you watch football, African magic, listen to music, play Playatation, visit Nairaland and in fact any type of entertainment. Whenever you vote, you loose your money and with all the money sipped from us, BBN make those idle youth in captivity in the BBN house walk away with millions.False premise. There are many platforms for voting. Those that can afford it vote using SMS, those that can't simply log into the BBN website and vote. Those with subscription are also given free votes. So no one is forced to loose money by voting. BBN makes people poorer, how? Do you know how much DSTV used in building and running the BBN house and shows. They said they used N2.5 billion to organise the show. That's N2.5 billion injected into the Nigerian economy. The organisers say they employed 300 people, mainly Nigerians in the backend to run the shoe. That's Nigerians employed during this difficult period where most have lost their jobs. Then there is the issue of hundreds of youths making money off BBN on social media. A look at the BBN page on nairaland will show thousands of viewers constantly on the thread. Oga Seun is smiling to the bank. Even the print media is not left out as they carry BBN news constantly. Finally we should not forget the contestants whose life change rapidly as a result of appearing on the show. Many turn to overnight millionaires through endorsements and other social appearances brought about by BBN fame. This country Nigeria is dieing gradually and the growing unemployed youth are not keen on saving the country from the killer politiciansAre you saying that it was BBN that brought about restiveness, bandictry, yahoo yahoo, robbery and rebellion? We're these vices absent before BBN started airing in Nigeria, or they will disappear or reduce once BBN stops airing? What happened to good shows likeDifferent strokes for different folks. As I said, we are living in a democracy and capitalist society. Nothing stops you or the Ooni from sponsoring a programme and airing it in any of the available platforms including online, if that what interests you or your think commercially viable. Multichoice DSTV is making its money,Is that not the goal of a capitalist economy? - profit making. It's all about the demand and supply equilibrium. The government is interested in things that could make the youth lazier and unable to challenge government policies. What's concerns the government? The government job is to provide laws and legislation for various sectors and industries, and then make sure sure participants adhere strictly to the laws. It's not the government jobs to dictate how business firms run their business. Big Brother Naija should not be encouraged. That your personal opinion. |
Dmanlex:And those proposing and supporting the ban promotes morality? |
TriCee:Don't minds the hypocrites, is it by force to buy DSTV, is it by force to subscribe. Even if your life depends on buying and subscribing to DSTV and GoTv, multichoice has provided a simple code to block Big Brother channel from your decoder. Meanwhile, the organizers should carefully check the contents of the show again. It's rated 18, unless you are advocating for removing all other 18 rated channels and programmes from all TV stations in Nigeria. |
Onitola2:You are just spewing nonsense. We are in a democracy and not autocracy. Buhari is being abused daily by IPOB, PDP and others, no one is calling for beheadings. Governors are being insulted everyday on social media, nobody has been killed for it yet. I don't understand how someone can compare boycotting of a film one finds distasteful and beheadings because of it. Did muslims decide to boycott the Danish magazine that made a cartoon of muhammad? No, they went on killing Christians at random around the world. |
salford1:And you think he cares how many of his own supporters die in his quest for reelection? He even had his supporters sign waivers against liability if any of them catches coronavirus at his rallies. They are just pawns in his reelection strategy.
|
salford1:I don't think Trump has given up on covid19, I believe he is using the pandemic as a reelection strategy. He wants the pandemic to be so bad as to affect the election results or the elections itself. Have you not Wondered why he has been touting postponing the elections and undermining mail in voting? He at worst want to discourage large voter turn out, either by mail or in person, because he knows large voter turn out will favour the democrats and not the Republicans. He wants to create chaos especially in the swing states, so as to gave just enough electoral votes to win the elections. Just watch as the elections get closer. Trump and his supporters will get more desperate in trying to undermine the elections and discourage voters. |
Slawormir:Such law is unconstitutional and should be challenged at the Supreme Court. The only problem is Shariah Law only applies to the powerless, it can never apply to the elites. They only use the law to cow the poor masses into submission. |
Aboki99:You guys are just displaying your blood thirsty nature. How does a human being enjoy the killing of another in the service of their own God? Obviously, a person that insults Mohammed no longer believes in him and cannot be said to be a true muslim. Shekau and Al-Baghdadi that have killed hundreds of thousands of people including muslims does not deserve death because he is a true Muslim. But someone that renounce Mohammed or Islam has suddenly become an existential threat that needs to be killed. Honestly, Islam is a treat to national and indeed world peace, and I don't blame the Chinese for attempting to eliminate the religion in their country. |
Mo3891:Does it conform with the constitution of the federal Republic? The fact that a law was legislated by northern assembly and passed to law by northern Governors with full support of Northern citizen does not make it constitutional. The environmental law was legislated by Lagos assembly and passed to law by Fashola with full support of Lagos citizens, the courts still declared the law unconstitutional. Even the national assembly can pass a law with the full support of the president and the citizens of Nigeria, but the Supreme Court can still declare such laws unconstitutional. For example, the 'doctrine of necessity' that was passed by the national assembly that made Jonathan acting president was unconstitutional, and would have been rendered null and void if the matter was taken to court. |
Hashimyussufamao:What of if the accused renounced Islam or changed religion before or even after the alleged blasphemy. Do Muslim citizen have the right to renounce the religion? |
Mo3891:So you also have to respect laws that prescribe death for twins. What of the law that prescribe the death penalty for any woman that defies the Oro festival curfew that is common in Yoruba towns? Should you not respect that too. |
Just like Atiku defeated Buhari in the 2019 elections.
|
QuotaSystem:Imagine comparing Radio Kudirat to Radio Biafra. Radio Kudirat was conceived by Yoruba intellectuals to fight the the military government of Abacha to restore the June 12 mandate. Even though Ralph Uwazuruike conceived Radio Biafra to promote Biafra on an intellectual level, Nnamdi Kanu, the appointed director high jacked it and turn it into a platform for insulting Yorubas, Hausa/Fulanis, Northerners, Nigerians and Nigeria. I wonder how you guys want to achieve Biafra by antagonising everybody else. Now you want to become president, not by alliances, persuasions and politicking, but by issuing threats. |
Deepthoughts:You might not identify as igbo, bit some tribes in the NC, particularly Bennett state are very close to the igbos. You are amazed that other people feel so unconcerned that a strategic part of the country is been sidelined? What about your own part of the country (that is if your are not igbo), are you not concerned about how your own people has been sidelined? Unless you are telling me that your people have held the position of the president before or had held crucial political positions in Nigeria. You alleged NADECO was formed to torment the whole country, did NADECO torment your village town or state? NADECO was only active in the southwest, the capital Abuja and part of the South South. Even IPOB that makes a lot of noise cannot be said to be tormenting the whole country. It's not the whole country that agreed that injustice was done to the South West. A certain region supported Abacha's hold on power and held a 2 million man match in Abuja to convince Abacha not to relinquish power. |
xynerise:If she is a housewife with no external income, with young children and from a not well to do family, where do you want her to go? |
Professor Sagay needs to learn about the Chinese Money Trap. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qzEVyYCOV0 Though I want a modern railway system badly, we should avoid falling into the Chinese Money Trap like so many poor nations have. |

So bad,we predicted it but children of hate from the waste side voted for this disaster now we are all suffering.
ok ok, all I'm saying is a foreign company should not come and make money off our youth while degrading our society at the same time. They could still make some profit if not the same outrageous amount if they consider other shows that won't cause more issues for us
