paulolee:First we did not evolve from apes, we are classified as a member of the ape family along with the orangutan. Then we and the orangutan share a common ancestor some 3 to 5 million years ago. Finally, who says than man has stopped evolving? Evolution is not metamorphosis. As long as the environment keeps changing humans will keep evolving to adapt. Once an specie stops evolving, it's extinction is certain. |
SaintHilary:No mind dem. I no see crowd, before we begin to talk over crowd. Tell him to go to computer village, Ladipo or Alaba international, him go see overcrowd. |
AmuDimpka:The railway lines, trains and station the money was used to build. |
stacyadams:No mind anarchist who prefer to die in our roads known as death traps than have the Chinese manage an efficient train system. Abeg watin concern dem who manage the railways as long as it's safe and efficient. Make Buhari borrow money to build railways (even at inflated prices) them dey wail as if Buhari dash dem from the billions dem don borrow before without seeing shi shi for ground. Make Chinese takeaway over and manage the railway if Nigerian government steal the money and refuse to pay back the loan, dem still dey wail. Dem say dem prefer make dem dey spend 25 hours for road, that na if dem no get accident or robbed by armed robbers. Abeg helep me ask dem, watin dem want? |
Evercurious:Your wailing is beyond the ordinary. You need psychological or spiritual help to help you get over Jonathan's loss of almost 6 years ago. Read the history of this railway contract to get better informed. http://www.chinaafricarealstory.com/2010/08/real-cost-of-chinese-railway.html?m=1 https://www.google.com/amp/s/trwstockbrokers./2017/03/07/history-as-fast-train-service-takes-off/amp/ |
kayjay69:I am not a paid commenter or a member of any party. I believe there is massive corruption in every facet of the Nigerian society from our families, communities to the national level. It pervasive. The difference between you guys and I is that I hate complaining without doing much about it. If I have a complaint, I take action or I don't complain at all. If no to the above then I'll pretend you are ignorant on what has been happening in this country since its inception. So much so that you trust politicians and whatever BS contract figures they throw around.I don't trust politicians at all. Politicians are some of the most dishonest people in the world. But, in the absence of alternative figures and information, I have to go with the figures they present. That's how things work, you have to work with the data and information you are given. I can't just guess figures out of the air. I know enough to know that the contract is over-inflated. You want proof, do your own research as I have, google.com to your rescue and you'll have some guidance as to what the approximate actual figures ought to be.It's you that that makes the claim, so the onus lies on you to prove your claim. You cannot expect me to be the one to prove your claims. I am not saying the project is not needed. I am not saying all politicians around the world are not corrupt. I am saying our mode of corruption in this part of the world is very archaic and destructive. That contract as with just about most large contracts awarded on a large scale (I can name many but do your own research), can definitely be used for more projects. The real chopping should not be in over-inflating contracts, we are so bleeping backwards, compared to the rest of the world, that we need like 30 of such large scale railroad projects to even have a chance at being at a competitive country (read the vision 2020 document by Accenture prepared during Obasanjo's administration).Politicians around the world are corrupt. Even in China which prescribed capital punishment for official corruption, political are being sentenced to death on a regular basis. The problem with Nigeria is that the general public condones and promote corruption based on tribal, religious, sectional and sentimental basis. I call it "she is our sister syndrome". We see the backlash from their people when politicians like I boring and Alamiesiegha was prosecuted and jailed. As for how splitting the country helps us. The only reason for mass corruption on every scale is easy access to oil money at every level of government coupled with gullible, nonchalant citizens. You split the country you leave the SS to worry about their oil and be rest assured the ones who have the oil are not usually the ones that turn out to be best as you can see all around the world today. This will not automatically eliminate corruption in new regions formed but atleast it helps people in their respective regions fight against their individual govt free of tribalism, free of religious bias.I agree totally with the blue quote. As a citizen of one of the largest oil community in Nigeria, I can tell you that giving 100% of oil revenue to the communities will end in disaster. We will be worse of than Congo, the country with the most natural resources in the world. Even the communities itself will tear itself apart due to greed by community leaders, youth and traditional leaders. Then foreign countries will make sure that the region will always be in crisis. It's easier to exploit a country in crisis than a stable and peaceful one. |
AmuDimpka:Please stop wailing Jonathan's loss of 2015, even Jonathan is fed up with the wailing. The rail project did not start under those that shouted "change " from the West. It was started under Obasanjo. In fact it was president jonathan that signed the contract with the Chinese, but he did not fulfil his end of the contract. Buhari came in and renegotiate the contract. The contract has gone far now, are you suggesting Buhari cancel the contract and abandon the whole project? What is your suggestion on the way forward? |
King44:We all know our inadequacies and flaws. I am asking how we resolve them or move forward. What is your suggestion? |
AmuDimpka:And seizure of the asset the Chinese will. |
kayjay69:On what basis are you placing your bet? Are you a railway engineer or a train manufacturer? How can we be spending $5.3bn on a railroad from Ibadan to Kano? A railroad that does is not latest technology? These are railroads used for locomotive trains and we are spending this much, to connect just 2 major cities? As I said, provide is an alternative cost for the project, since you are sure it is over inflated. Now, I am not questioning your assertion, I am just asking for proof. It does just include railroads and locomotive trains, but also stations and support services for the running of the trains. The train will connect not just two major cities, but several other cities as stop overs. The other rail lines are also ongoing. This is why I have kept on insisting this country split? It is not worth itHow will splitting the country help the transportation crisis we have in the country now. Will splitting the country ensure effective rail transportation between Lagos and Kano or Calabar and Kano? Or are you telling me that people would not need to travel between Calabar and Kano once we split? |
kingphilip:This particular loan cannot be looted. The money is not paid directly to anybody's bank account. The money is used directly to fund the project according to the contract terms, and the contract is being handled by the Chinese themselves. This is the same model the Chinese has been unsung to build infrastructure all over Africa. You default on contract terms and the seize the assets until they recover their loans. |
ursullalinda:Don't always profess negativity, Profess solutions to problems. I hate it when people condemn any and all actions government makes at solving a problem. How do we revive our dilapidated railways without borrowing from international lenders, and how do you think is the best ways to ensure international lenders get their money back. If you disagree with the terms of the loan, let me know why. Or, do you want a country of over 200 million people to continue to move people and goods through poor roads? |
Samfloxin:Kanu is extremely foolish. He is only wise in extracting hard earned money from gullible igbo youths. What's is strategy apart from insulting and antagonising Northerners, Yorubas and everyone else. There are three strategies for achieving secession - political, Diplomatic and War. In each of the three, you need alliances . Even the mighty USA spends considerable effort in building alliances before embarking in any war. Even in politics, you need to build alliances, sometimes with your enemies before you can grab power. Kanu has broken the little chance of alliance the igbos had cultivated over the years. Buhari learnt this same lesson the hard way, when he thought he could become Nigeria's president with only the northern votes, he failed woefully 3 times. It was when we formed an alliance with the SW that his ambition of becoming the president was realized. If Kanu decides to take the war route, the North, SW and even core SS would probably form an alliance against the igbos, with the way Kanu has antagonised everybody. Even international alliance he has failed woefully. He only cultivated the Israelis due to religious reasons. He forgets that Israel cannot take any step without approval from USA. He and his IPOB goons has insulted Britain and Democrats in USA. I honestly don't understand his strategy. |
Noel19:My state is Delta, provide you state so we can make a valid comparism. |
budaatum:He obviously has no idea of what a track record means. Which "track record"does Dr. Stella Immanuel have? Where can one get hold of this record? |
jrusky:If you can never support anything north, then do you think that the North can support anything south east? Do you think anyone can attain the position of the president in a democractic setting without the support of the North? |
Noel19:You mean to tell me Nigeria has not made any progress since inception at 1914 or 1960? Why not list any economic, infrastructural or social indices so we can make comparisms. And back to your question, since you want to play the devils advocate; what progress has your region made as regards the governor's in each of their state? Is your region better than the south east? The last time I checked poverty and hardship abounds in your region. My region which is South South is far better in terms of wealth/ GDP and any other economic indices than the South East. |
icon007:It can't work anymore. Nigerian politics has gone beyond 1999. How do you prevent a qualified candidate from contesting for the presidency? What stops and Aisha Buhari from obtaining an APC form and contesting for the president from the APC primary level to the national level? If you try now to bar a Nigerian from contesting the presidency, he can sue both the party and the electoral body for violating his constitutional right. |
jrusky:Ohanaeze, Afenifere, Are was, et al are just socio ethnic groups, they are not recognised by the Nigerian constitution. They can only make their positions and suggestions known. And never you talk as if its SE or SW birth right to be president ok. How to get the power off these demons in the North is the paramount task before 2023 not all these you blabla chest beaten. And you want this same north you brand as demons to concede power to the SE, either through elections or otherwise? You see why people say politics is not a strong forte of the igbos. If you insult the north and the south west, how then do you intend to get the presidency? |
Noel19:What is the meaning of igbo presidency? What progress would be made by an "igbo presidency" that would be different from progress other presidencies have made? You avoid the question; What progress had any of the tens of igbo governors made to their respective states? |
vanunu:You mean other Nigerians except igbos should be barred from contesting for president? |
okayode1:What of the seven states in Nigeria that have democratic igbo governors, are they also not in messy situations? You guys give yourselves false superhuman abilities, like marvel superheroes. |
OLAADEGBU:This is the so called hospital Dr. Stella Immanuel says she has treated 350 coronavirus patients.

I honestly don't understand what the fuss is about. I don't see how the two "markets" are complimentary. I would say both are self sufficient. The girl selling agonyin beans is also holding a bag of bread, so she sells bread to her beans customers. The girl selling butter is also selling bread. They would compliment each other only if a customer wants to eat his beans with butter. Hardly will you find someone selling agonyin beans without also selling bread and also someone selling bread without also selling butter. Someone needs to explain to me what the fuss is all about. |
Bluebyrd:Comparing apples and agbalumo. Covid19 has the potential of killing millions of people, if it's not handled in a methodical and scientific manner. Relationships and Sex Education is critical in our modern society to prevent teenage pregnancies ( which you know is a problem in most societies ), AIDS and STDs and other psychological and mental problems that youths can suffer as a result of wrong sexual education and exposure. |
MaziAlaye:Lots of scientists also recommended CVO -- an organic herbal concoction from madagascar as cure for covid19. In fact if I should list the number of 'cure' claims, it would be above 50. It not about Trump, it's about proof presented to the scientific community. |
Bluebyrd:The site violated medical and journalistic ethics of promoting and untested and unverified drug as cure. The process of certifying a drug as a cure for any aliment is a rigorous one, and hydroxychloroquine did not pass through it. It was only decreed as cure by president Trump. |
OLAADEGBU:My problem is with a paediatric doctor that diagnose witches and evil spirits for endometriosis, cysts, infertility, and impotence and then come out and says without any evidence that she cured 350 covid19 patients. Should we just believe her because she says so? A check on her profiles reveals very little of her academic and social life. What give her the authority to take on covid19 patients? Even in a "shit hole " country like Nigeria a General practitioners is not allowed to take on covid 19 patients, not to talk the so called most advanced nation on earth. Even her marital life is sketchy. |
OjoMadiba:Now will you trust a doctor that makes the following claims; Medical issues like endometriosis, cysts, infertility, and impotence are caused by sex with “spirit husbands” and “spirit wives”—a phenomenon Immanuel describes essentially as witches and demons having sex with people in a dreamworld. Real-life ailments such as fibroid tumors and cysts stem from the demonic sperm after demon dream sex, an activity she claims affects “many women.” Alien DNA is currently used in medical treatments, saying: 'They're using all kinds of DNA, even alien DNA, to treat people.' Illuminati are promoting a plan hatched by 'a witch' to destroy the world using abortion, gay marriage, and children's toys. Magic 8-Ball toy is in fact a scheme to get children used to witchcraft. scientists had plans to install microchips in people, and develop a 'vaccine' to make it impossible to become religious. 'They found the gene in somebody's mind that makes you religious, so they can vaccinate against it. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8569147/amp/Trump-promotes-Dr-Stella-Immanuel-homophobic-doctor-preacher-uses-alien-DNA-cure.html Hear some of her crazy beliefs here; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJrJG9xymts |
OjoMadiba:Then what's the argument, o wise one? |
Jakumo:If you understand how IT works, especially as it relates to banking, you will realize that stealing your money is not that easy or straight forward, except it was carried out by the bank itself. In that case, then the CBN will come in. If a particular bank is getting numerous complaints from customers, that bank would soon get into trouble with the CBN. The only way a third party could steal your money is if they get hold of your vital banking information like ATM number, PIN number, BVN or your SIM card. If you understand how to secure these issues, you will be safe. You need to be careful on which sites you give your banking information. You must protect the SIM you register with your banks (put a SIM lock). If you observe basic security vigilance, you will not lose your money to third party fraudsters, |
