Chibuking1402:You people refused to answer my pertinent question; How will you prove to the police and the courts that the 2 girls were having sèx? Video or photo evidence, eye witness statement or forensic examination? |
ambu2:Gbam. I am yet to see Peter Odili lose a court case. I see Peter Odili like I see Trump. Even if Peter Odili shoots someone on broad street in front of the judge, he cannot lose the court case |
Mrsserene:Are you talking about the sin of stealing by government officials or sèx between 2 consenting adults in the privacy of their bedrooms? |
Chibuking1402:How will the stupid anti gay law work? Who will report the crime when they are not doing it in public? How will you prove that 2 adults of the same sex sleeping naked on the same bed (in their private bedrooms) had sèx? What is the legal definition of sèx? Is it just kissing or handling of breasts or fingering? How will you prove in a court of law, beyond reasonable doub, since we are dealing with a criminal offense, that these 2 ladies about to be lynched had sèx? |
grandstar:Exactly. Do you now blame boko haram or ISIS wanting to lynch and behead infidels? |
eni4real:European governments were far more anti homosexuality than African countries. They used to hang homosexuals and not just lock them up. Britain was still hanging homosexuals 150 years ago. If your homosexuality is a sign that religion and morals was enslaving human's mind, why don't you show me any mammals that practise homosexuality in full view!!!Homosexuality is found in most animals - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homosexual_behavior_in_animals I am talking about an everyday occurrence of a goat locasing the anus of another goat..You can look here for evidence of lesbianism in female gorillas https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOtDSysn2kA |
eni4real:First stop using the term pro homosexuality, a better term would be condone homosexuality. The liberalisation of the human mind and spirit from the shackles of religion, superstition and Illiteracy is the reason for rapid development and science. For thousands of years, humans made very little progress because new ideas and ways were rejected and even sometimes punished. Science and development began to accelerate from the 17th century when a bold few began to question old beliefs and ideas including moral ideas. |
eni4real:It's not an African thing. Homosexuality is found in all cultures and all societies. It is as old as man itself. Homophobia is also as old as civilization. Europe was much harsher on homosexuals until a few centuries ago. In as much as we are religious conscious and we know how holy book frown at Homosexuality, African Government will continue to ban gays!!!Yes your holy book frowned at homosexuality, but it did not specifically ban it. It viewed adultery as a worse crime. Don't tell me that countries practising LGBT are more developed and less corrupt!!!Tell me which country that legalize or condone homosexuality that is higher on the corruption index than Nigeria. In fact most of the world most corrupt countries are also the most religious countries. Homosexuality is not the reason why they are ahead in Development and transparency!!!It's one of the reasons they are ahead in Development and transparency. They are more honest and tolerant, and less hypocritical. They allow new ideas to flourish. They don't spend all their energies poking their nose into other people's business that don't concern them. |
Sammyl93:The right to the privacy of their own homes. |
sulasa07:Illiteracy laced with religious bigotry. Homosexualism most times comes naturally, it's part of the difference in sexuality between different people. Sometimes sexuality is the battle between the male sex hormones and the female sex hormones. The dominant hormone sometimes shows in sexual behaviour and sexual preference. A woman with dominant and androgen will exhibit male tendencies and attributes, while a man with dominant estrogen will exhibit female tendencies. Yes, some of us might find homosexuality repulsive, I don't understand why it gets to the point of lynching. How do what 2 people do in the privacy of our home affect us? The two girls accused of lesbianism can't do more than kissing, handling and maybe fingerings. If we are so repulse at these things, then we should be equally repulse at mastubation. The same people attempting to lynch two adults for alleged lesbianism, would not raise an eyelid at child abuse - that is an old man having sex with a 13 year old in the guise of marriage. |
nelsonoba:Then how do you use this your hypothesis to explain China. China embraced atheism and in 30 years became the second biggest economy in the world. The GDP of EU is only slightly higher than that of china. |
Proudlyngwa:Not a mad man, a mad king. That's Donald of the house of Trump. The first of his kind, the conqueror of the Republicans, the tormentor of the Democrats, the ruler of the 50 states, the imposer of tarrifs. China, EU, Germany, UK tremble at his feet. |
bayomillz14:Medicine after death. Why did Ihedioha not canverse these point at the tribunal or at the appeal court? Is Ihedioha telling us that he does not know that you cannot originate a new case or introduce new evidence at the Supreme Court. |
chikason68:You superstitious theists are something else, you think up some really senseless beliefs. I thought demons were supposed to be powerful spirits with really serious spiritual powers. So you mean to tell me that demons use all these powers to only cause a few scratches on the surface of your skin, that will readily disappear within a few days? And you need special deliverance in a living church to get rid of small the small scratches. I have noticed a few one in a while. I simply ignored them as it did not cause any discomfort or pain, and tend to disappear in a couple of days. |
gidgiddy:The Biafran agitators can talk about referendum or anything else, they don't have the authority to achieve it. It is only the people with authority (political and traditional leaders) that can achieve it. A referendum has to first be inserted into our constitution before it can be considered. The way forward is to allow the rule of law prevail. The Biafran agitators have been granted the right to agitate and protest for a separate state under extant laws. Whether their agitation will amount to anything is their business not yours, so stop drinking panadol over another person's headachePlease quote the extant laws that granted the right to agitate and protest for a separate state. As at the time Ojukwu went to Aburi in January 1967, Nigeria had 4 Regions, the four Regions had resource control and fiscal responsibility, which are the basis of true federalism. The four Regions even had their own British Ambassadors. At Aburi, Ojukwu secured even more powers for the Regions by getting Regional Armies. All 4 Regions now had its own military force, which virtually turned Nigeria into a confederation of 4 powerful Regions and a weak centre in Lagos. This ensured that no Region could dominate another.Debating with you guys is an exercise in lies and falsehood. You call what is clearly black, white. At the time Ojukwu went to Aburi in Ghana, General Ironsi had converted the 4 autonomous regions into 4 unitary states under a military head of State. Decree 34 of 1966 was called the unification decree. The accord of establishing 4 regional armies is impractical. A country cannot have regional armies. The minute a region has an army, it becomes an independent country. A confederation of states has one military and not seperated armies. All that was required of Gowon was to return to Nigeria, conduct a constitutional conference or adopt the constitution Nigeria was operating before the Military came, conduct elections and return to the Barracks. How would Gowon have conducted a constitutional conference on the eve of a war? A constitutional conference cannot be held in a day or even a few months. Most constitution conferences take years. How do you expect the military to go back to the Barracks in the aftermath of the political upheavals caused by the January 1966 coup and the July counter coup, where military and political leaders of both sides has been murdered, and the igbo civilians that had been murdered in the north? Besides, that option was never discussed at Aburi. But Gowon and his fellow Northerners simply did not like a system that ensured equity. They needed to do away with the ever powerful Regions and make the centre strong so as to control Nigeria. So Gowon did exactly that by enacting decree 14 that abolished the 4 Regions, replaced them with 12 weak states, and gave the centre so much powers. They only thing Gowon and his Northern cohorts never counted on was that Ojukwu and his people were not going to take it lying low like other Regions. The only options left for Ojukwu was to either accept decree 14, which other cowardly Regions did, or break from the system and fight for independence. It may not have worked out for Ojukwu and the Eastern Region but no apology for fighting for freedom in the face of enslavement. Thats what great people doThrash. It was General Ironsi's decree 34 that removed powers from the regions and concentrated it at the centre. Gowon simply built on what Ironsi created. He converted the 4 states created by Ironsi to 12 states. When people talk about Ironsi's decree 34, I laugh. Despite Decree 34, the 4 Regions maintained their borders, enjoyed resource control and fiscal responsibility. But nobody wants to talk about Gowons decree 14 that was a hundred times worse, and took all of these things away. The only reason some people talk about decree 34 is because it was an Igbo man who enacted it, had it been a Northerner, those who talk about it would not. Please tell me how decree 14 took away resource control that decree 34 had not already taken away. I don't know how someone can support decree 34 but criticize decree 14. It doesn't make sense. |
kettykings:How many arms and ammunition had already been allocated and the number allocated? Who commands the various commands of the federation, aka the commander in chief, or was each region expected to have its own military? (ii) The Army should be reorganized in order to restore discipline and confidence, Specifically,Who will do the reorganisation and using what criteria? a. the army should be governed by the Supreme Military Council which would be chaired by a Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and the Head of the Federal Military Government; How is this different from what was already existing? b. Area Commands under Area Commanders and corresponding to existing Regions should be created. The regions will be under the control of area Commanders c. During the period of the military goverment, Military Governors should have control over Area Commands, for internal securityMilitary Governors will control area Commanders again, is this not duplication? d. A military headquarters, comprising equal representation from the regions and headed by a Chief of Staff, should be established.More duplication of duties. Maybe I should be saying quadriplication e. A Lagos Garrison, including Ikeja Barracks, should be created. What concerns Ojukwu with the west. Never knew the west were invited to Ghana to discuss the aburi according. (iv) The Supreme Military Council should deal with all matters of policy including promotion to top executive posts in the Armed Forces and the Police.Continuation of Power greed by the military, which led to the conflict in the first place. The Military officers abrogation executive and legislative powers to themselves. As I always believed the 1966 conflicts were about power grabs by the military and within the military, the civilians were only unfortunate to be caught in the middle. (vi) Appontments to the Diplomatic and consular posts as well as to superscale posts in the Federal Public Service and equivalent posts in the Federal Corporations must be approved by the Supreme Military Council.Confusion galore. Since the constitution had been suspended and the regions converted to states by general Ironsi, how would Nigeria be governed if all previous decrees were repealed? |
ajl:You are right. Banks are like criminal organizations. One other suggestions is to borrow the money from their rich uncle who gave him N2 million without it affecting him much. He could borrow the 3 million + interest and then work out repayment terms with the uncle. |
ajl:This is a free professional advice. Try and offset the loan to stop the interest rate from catching up with the value of your house. In business you must learn to cut your losses. After paying back the loan, you can sue him for your loss, or recover as much as possible from his assets. |
stagger:This is the best advice so far. Get a lawyer and sue your cousin for all his assets including the company. I just hope there is actually a company he is using to do business. Since you did not enter into a formal agreement on what happens if he defaults, it might complicate issues. You also need to liase with the bank to know exactly how much is owed and the interest rate. It might be better to sell the property to offset the debt and make use of the balance. I am sure your house is worth more than N3 million. This still doesn't stop you from suing for the balance. |
lovchalice:I really admire your strength and independence. You decided to keep and care baby, irrespective of the father's cowardice. Although you make an error of judgement, no one should judge you. You can still go on to achieve great things and even find true love. I am sure the stupid boy will come begging in the future after seeing how good you and the baby is doing. Having said that, you cannot condemn others who made the same mistake and took a different path. |
lovchalice:He disturbed you for friendship and you turned him down, only to open your legs for him once he mentioned marriage. My sister, there is a sequence leading to marriage. First you must like each other, then love each other, then engagement to involve the 2 families and then finally marriage. You may decide to have sex pre or post marriage, but sex should never be a condition for marriage. He can definitely go scot free, as he only has responsibility for the baby if you decide to born it. You should even be glad he did not marry by force, as he definitely was never in love with you. He would have made your life a living hell. |
Exodora:So a woman's only value is the whole between her legs, and having a baby (within or outside marriage) devalues her as a human being? I have seen many many ladies became much more successful after a first failed marriage with multiple children. |
purples25:The problem with the current generation is that the lack a knowledge of history. They only listen to and regurgitate what others in authority tells them, instead of taking the time and effort to learn how things were in the past. Today is the best times in the history of mankind, for women, in terms of liberty and freedom. Just a few centuries ago, women were property, property of their parents, husband's, uncle's and other family members. They were given away (more like traded off as soon as they attain puberty. They had absolutely no say in who they marry. Virginity was a priced asset to the girl's family when negotiating for bride price. In the olden days women were exploited by men and they had no right to complain. During the constant wars, young women of the defeated tribes were sex slaves, the old women were actual slaves. So many bastards were born with no known fathers. Most world's religions seem to enforce that system, that a woman is private property. She should not be permitted to be seen, talked to, associate with others who don't own her. Till today ultra religious societies and organization's still operate that way, especially the Christian and muslim religions. Now, women can marry who they like, have sèx with whomsoever they choose, go to school, pursue a career, vote and even preach at the alter. I still find it amazing that some women long for the horrible sordid past. Well, it's called the Stockholm syndrome. |
vincentjk:These are religious fundamentalists who want to impose mosaic and Sharia laws on the country. The only problem is that these moral laws are hypocritical. The states that practice sharia has the highest number of unwanted and uncared for children roaming the streets. |
purples25:I am appalled that you happiness in the whole story is that the man is receiving punishment for having pre marital sèx for killing his forced wife and the baby. You religious fundamentalists are just after punishments. You want to punish the woman with forced pregnancy and delivery to punish the woman for having pre marital sèx, you want to punish the man with forced marriage as a punishment for having pre marital sex, you want to punish the child with abandonment because the parents commited sin of pre marital sèx. Maybe you guys should liase with your Muslim counterparts and impose sharia, so you can stone to death sinners of pre marital sèx ( including the baby. Unplanned pregnancy should be the business of the couple's involved and their families, and not the business of some religious fundamentalists. |
captain247:Men don't go around having sèx with women with the intention of impregnating them. Most just want to have sèx. The unwanted pregnancy is usually a consequence of carelessness by both parties. Besides the illegitimacy abolished is legitimate right to inheritance not childs right of identity, dignity, origin and self-actualization.First it depends on culture. Many cultures in southern Nigeria like the Yorubas and many Niger delta tribes don't have illegitimate children. Once it can be proven that a man fathers a child, the child is accorded some rights as a son/ daughter. It's the igbos that the legitimate/illegitimate child dichotomy is practiced. Besides, inheritance rights is only valid if the man dies interstate, whereby inheritance is subject to customary law. If the man writes a will, then he can will his properties to anyone he likes. If the man is not ready for marriage let him stay clear that is the point. Not practicable. Men are marrying later because of financial stability. You want a man to remain virgin until his late 30's or even 40's, when his hormones starts fighting with him from his teens? The man physiology is not built that way. It's because of all this abortion still takes place of which is also against the law 14yrs jail term. And likewise tradition too do not support having child outside of wedlock, in that case the girl will then suffer alone.Whether marriage or not abortion will still take place. I have many gynecologists as friends, and they tell me that married couples carry out as much abortions than single ladies, especially the rich ones. Many married couples don't want to have more children and see abortions as the last resort of preventing unwanted babies. Abortion laws just like the bigamy laws are unenforceable. It is impractical for police to be policing private hospitals and other places to arrest doctors, women and nurses carrying out abortions. |
chigoizie7:A pregnancy should not be the basis of marriage. Forcing a guy into marriage because of a pregnancy never works out in the long run. |
Childish and juvenile suggestion. When even divorce rate among couples who start out professing everlasting love is about 50%, you are talking about forced marriage. The marriage will not last beyond the second year. What happens if the guy is "2face" or "whiz kid" like and give up to 3 girls belle, he should marry all 3 of them? What if the guy is jobless and lives with his parents or family member, he brings a wife home? Who will care and provide for the child and mother? The suggestion is even illegal anyway. You cannot sign a marriage contract under duress. |
franchasng:Colonel E.A Etuk (one of Nigeria's finest soldiers) was from Calabar, he held Owerri for 8 months. Colonel Victor Banjo was a Yoruba man, he led the capture of the mid west and the invasion of Ore. There were many easterners that fought on the side of Nigeria and vice versa. That's the nature of war. People take sides for different reasons. |
In the citation of FFK's achievements, the person handling the church of Satan did not add some other major achievements. Like; Former Yaba left inmate and Current coke user. |
garfield1:That's what I am saying, most presidential election judgements are usually split decisions, with one or two dissenting views, but to have an unanimous decision of seven judges from different tribes is extra ordinary. I believe hope Uzodinma and his lawyers must have done their homework well. The courts are not about what is right or wrong, it's about what you can prove. |
9jaRealist:Me, I no know book as I am not learned , but I can use my common sense. Yes the verdict looks and sounds perverse, but are you arguing over an unanimous decision by all seven supreme Court judges? The highest legal minds in the land? To make matters worse, non of the 16 supreme Court justices has disagreed with the judgement, either from North east, West or south. Don't you think there must be some merits in their judgements? |
