Meanwhile, this announcement was probably made by class mates. Otherwise, I'd be surprised the family still remembered to score points against ASUU using the situation. I'm pretty sure ASUU would be the last thing on they'd be thinking of now. The strike surely has devastating effects on the country but this particular event could have happened anywhere. People go missing or even get killed in schools too. |
The Bianca lady is beautiful |
Wow |
ULiTv:Oh... nice. It's an exciting project. |
This might be outrageous but should he be sharing such information with the public? Of course, the client's name wasn't mentioned but I'd still not be comfortable requesting his services. |
Gift96:Haha... how did you come up with this? Why are you guys like this? ![]() @OP, this is amazing. I see you're also getting suggestions from others. Please, gather as much information as you can and do a beta version. Are you a graduate of Engineering? |
The support was because you mother is a woman? Is that what she is to you? Just another woman? Dude, you also extend this sexism to your mother and you want people to support you? Sir, whatever sympathy she got wasn't because she is a woman. Heck, NL peeps would gladly support a man in any most issues. It was because she is your mother. You both have the kind of connection that even a father can hardly have with a child. You came out from her and she loved you unconditionally. That should count for something, don't you think? I don't really know the full story and I'm not taking sides with anyone. But it was important to mention that her mother status should not be undermined like you did. Even your achievements wouldn't make thar right. Go and make peace now that she's alive. To everyone who follows the OP in whatever direction he goes, hope y'all see what you're following? Like I said, each time you come on this app to insult women, you insult your mothers. Let's stay away from sexism before it's too late. |
This sad! What kind of wickedness is this? |
AntiTerrorists: JudasNaKarrot:She never brought it to social media. An eye witness shared the story with Sahara Reporters. This was her response when she was contacted: “Where did you get my number from? I don’t have anything to say on the issue. As a police officer, there is protocol and I’m not ready to breach that,” she told SaharaReporters. |
Hehe... funny pictures. Frogs? Wow! What's the red stuff in a red tin? Tomato paste? |
My comment on the other thread: WoundedLamb: |
Wow... it's not really expensive. That's shocking. |
Let's see what happens to Donbas and what reassurances Russia is willing to give and sign. It's all about compromises Joining or not joining NATO is not really as important as Crimea and Donbas issues at the moment. NATO in quotes operates an open door policy, but they have conditions for joining which France and Germany have made it clear Ukraine doesn't meet and, therefore, opposed thier membership. That is why it came as a shock when Russia invaded Ukraine while talks were still ongoing. It was termed peacekeeping but we all know it was anything but peacekeeping. I've always maintained that NATO membership was just an excuse. |
Techsupport:You think that guy will pick Russian visa over American visa? Lol |
It seems Nigerians like to play victims at the slightest opportunity. This high priority category was reserved for refugees from Ukraine and those on the front page are already using that to score points against the West. Do you want to be refugees? Do you want the UK to prioritize you over Ukrainian refugees? Most of these guys would gladly take American visa over Russian visa if offered and some of them have already built wealth in the West but they're here misleading others. The downfall of the US/UK will not make your country any better, Nigerians. |
I don't really think it's fair to suggest that the abused desires it. Such a generalization only embolden the abuser. It takes away the focus from the real culprit and spotlights the victim. In other words, it seems to avoid holding the abusive ones accountable. However, if we must focus on the abused women for conversation sake and for the sake viewing the issue from an alternative perspective, then I believe the question should be "why do women stick with abusive men?" Then the answer would be a bit more obvious. That's because I don't think women (or anyone) love men that abuse them. But then, women could stick with abusive men for a couple of reasons. First is love. Like they say, love is blind and the thought of living without a lover could be scarier that actually living without them. Again, this doesn't mean they love abusive men, they just don't have the courage to leave. They tell themselves things like "all relationships have issues", "he will change", "my friends will mock me if I leave", "those asking me to leave probably just want to see me fail", "love is sacrifice", etc. Sad isn't it? Second is society. In Africa, not only are women usually blamed for broken homes, they also live with the consequences while the men easily move on. You hear statements like "she couldn't even keep a home", "where is her husband?", "this one that left her husband", "she got what she deserved, gold digger", etc. Things get worse when kids are involved. Even here on NL, there's a strong campaign against marrying single mothers. And yet we turn around to ask, "why do these women stick with abusive men?". Funny, right? Third, background. In some cultures, the women have come to believe that thier husbands have the right to hit them when they do something wrong. These women don't harbor any ill thoughts against thier men for hitting them. In fact, it's almost a sign of love/care (just like people believe that your parents hitting you is a sign of love). They grew up seeing their fathers hitting thier mothers. Such women even see other women who call police on thier husbands for hitting them as terrible wives. Now, isn't that preposterous? Fourth, poverty/gold digging. An unmarried lady with little at stake could still decide to stick with an abusive man not because she's enjoying the abuse but for the material gains. It could be accommodation, school fees, etc. or just the idea of living a certain lifestyle. To them, it's hustling and the abuse is similar to the hardship faced by any other hustlers out there. A barrow pusher wouldn't quit his job cause of the heat out there, would he? This is even more unfortunate when the ladies could absolutely live without the goodies or have better ways of earning a living. Choices! I deliberately left out masochism cause I don't think it's just to lump it up with the general idea of abuse. Not only would that undermine the pains of really abused people, it also just doesn't fully fit in. Masochists can roughly be compared with lovers of horror movies/games. These people don't necessarily love fear. They love fear in a controlled environment cause it gives them the chance to look it in the face while knowing everything would be alright. Likewise, masochists (especially those abused in the past) desire to come in contact with "abuse" in a controlled environment (one where there's a safe word) just to look it in the face while also knowing everything would be alright. The keywords here are "desire" and "control", things that really abused women don't have. #SayNoToDomesticViolence |
9182736455O1999:The Nigerian approach to solving thier problems is insulting each other. Each person thinks he's intellectually superior to the other, yet everyone is in the same mess. |
The Omoni girl looks so young. She probably got married early in life to have had such grown up kids. I like her. Happy birthday to Chioma. Wishing her true happiness and peace of mind. |
9jayes:Which continents, please ? |
mployer:Fun fact: virtually all Russian neighbours are NATO members already. |
Putin be like: if you win me, I'll use nuclear bombs on the whole world! |
Vinnie2000:Yes, for not bashing our women and praising other people's women out of some rare kind of complex? Lol. Brother, your comment would only make me feel bad if I were a lil bit insecure in my masculinity. Shaming your mothers and the mothers of your kids only makes you a laughing stock out there. |
Vinnie2000:First, I'm not a lady. The fact that you're trying to make this about me instead of my point is already fallacious. Second, I never supported her. I only made a point of how the same thing could be viewed differently in different regions. There are places where certain types of head dressing would be seen as okay while the same thing could be viewed as odd in other regions. It is, therefore, important to consider one's location when planning for such events. This was my point and it was glaring. The only part of the guy's comment I faulted was him calling out a whole gender cause of this lady's actions. This bit wasn't necessary. You guys never get tired of divisiveness? Religion, tribe, region and now gender? Is it so difficult to treat each person as an individual instead of this herd mentality? I can't deal. |
Zonefree:Actually, the only difference between a leg chain, a neck chain (necklace) and a hand chain (bracelets) is regional perception/perspective. Otherwise, they are all pieces of jewelry (chains) and in many other places, no one would care provided there's moderation. Almost all interviews are now online anyway. That said, I agree she should have considered her location while dressing up for the interview. I just don't think this idea of insulting females in Nigeria each time you don't agree with one is ideal. Imagine insulting all the males in Nigeria cause of the actions your politicians, scammers or boko haram members. It's good to see beyond race, gender, tribe, etc. while dealing with people around us. Just an opinion. |
Has she ever denied it? |
LeoDeKing:Crime will continue in Nigeria cause it's always celebrated and used by one group to score points against another. Sad. @OP, why is a 14 year-old working as a nanny though? Isn't that preposterous? RIP to the little one. Hope the parents find a way to overcome the anguish. The teen must be taken to the kids' correctional center for her sake and for the sake of people around her. |
Happy birthday to her. Is there a video, please? |
humility33:It's not pride. She has her boundaries based on her reasons. This is an anonymous forum, one can never be too careful. It's not up to you to tell her how to relate with strangers. Stop this attitude of calling out women at the slightest provocation. If she accepts PM's and hangs out with Nairalanders, you people will still call her an olosho if something happens to her. Just let her be. |
With everything I read on this platform, how do I tell people that Africa is not as bad as portrayed on TV? How can someone be so heartless? I sometimes wonder how these kidnappers and scammers think. Sad @OP, your lodge mate's roommate is also your loge mate, right? |
What won't Putin's people use as a justification for his aggression against Ukraine? Gay pride parade in the West is part of the reason he is slaughtering people in the East? That's new. |
Loverofpeace:I've said all I can possibly say about the subject, dear brother. The rest is up to you. |
