Judging by the way women are blamed for everything on this platform, I'm not really surprised. |
Loverofpeace:If you don't like studying, why are you in the school? How do you plan to change things without knowledge? Knowledge gave the white man the privilege they had over you, not some group. A typical black man in the US does not know how the world works. He doesn't understand the concept of finance, advanced science, etc. They keep giving the excuse, the black man does not like to read. You don't like to read and this leaves you at the mercy of the white man. And you want to keep living like that while expecting a change? Dude, people who say Knowledge is power ain't exactly drunk. The Egyptians you made reference to had knowledge. What kind of superiority are you seeking when you don't know a thing about science? Physical superiority? There's simply no other agenda you can possibly give to your group that will make you superior or even seem superior, and when you realize you aren't making any progress, you'd likely turn violent or, at least, get tempted to try "other means" which could easily get you into trouble. A group of people seeking progress without Knowledge is already a societal menace. A lot of black people dislike whites. When you gather such people together, things could easily spin out of control. I grew up in North America and I can tell you for sure that your group would only feed a stereotype. We had black people's clubs back in school. We studied together, taught each other things like programming, investment operations, etc. and these things helped us take control of our future. I'm sorry, but your group can only give you hood superiority if it's not knowledge driven and, honestly, it appears you just want to boost your own self confidence after feeling trampled. I'd suggest you talk to someone to learn how they navigated the muddy waters instead of resorting to gangsterism. I'm only concerned you'd end up soiling our name. |
Not even a study group. More like exporting cultism. Dude, face your studies and prove your supremacy with superior intelligence. When you're intelligent and industrious, you command respect. |
To be a woman in Africa.... |
Truvelisback:Dude, quit the act already. Taking a picture of a lady purchasing vegetables like any other human being ans sharing it online hoping to get certain reactions is already bad enough. Why is it that when you guys are corrected or called out, you scream feminism? Shouldn't women buy cucumber anymore? Like everyone else said, this is childish. |

Why do you want us to earn together? Do you like me that much? |
manikspears:Hhm... I really don't know why you're getting aggressive. It's a conversation and we're here to put things into perspective. I read you correctly before disagreeing. I think asking who in Nigeria earns up to the American minimum wage is a wrong approach cause Nigerians don't need to earn American minimum wage. This doesn't mean your position is wrong (I don't know enough about Nigeria to argue that). It only means you need other tools to express that instead minimum wage conversion. The fact that you mentioned purchasing power afterwards as a way of buttressing your point doesn't change the fact that you kicked off wrongly. There shouldn't even be a conversion in the first place. The factors that make living abroad better include the availability of amenities, security and stability. Out there, you have a better control of your expenses (less probability of emergencies), investments will yield better returns, you have higher utilities, and most importantly, the tendency to earn even more. If you want to compare minimum wages, drive it solely by expenses and not exchange rate. The presence of exchange rates makes every other calculation wrong cause the sample earners are in two different countries. That's just my point. |
DropsMic:Nice... but it's important to also let people know he'd likely be paying for that house for the next 25 to 30 years or even more. |
manikspears:You tell me. I don't really know. And I'm not saying Nigerians are better off. I only said for conversation sake that the angle from which you approached the subject is faulty. And I gave my reasons for that. Tell me the minimum wage, let's express the expenses as a percentage of that and we might just end up realizing both spend the same portion of thier earnings each year. |
manikspears:Except you live in Nigeria and work for an American firm, converting dollar to Naira doesn't really give any useful financial information cause the person earning in dollars spends in dollars while the person earning in Naira spends in Naira. What matters is the basket worth of the money. For example, someone living in a city can hardly survive on that 31k per annum. Someone who earns 500k in Nigeria will have more money than someone earning the dollar equivalent of that in the US. I think the upside for those living abroad is the basic amenities they enjoy as well as the stability. |
225/month for two bedrooms? Seeing how much she makes in a year, I see why that amount is a problem. Otherwise, I'd say that's unbelievably cheap compared to what we pay out here. Really, most of these so-called big cities are not worth it. |
slimjohn2k5:Lol... was the beating really necessary? A kid would eventually learn and desire to do the right thing if you always praise them each time they get it right. Positive reinforcement works like magic on kids (and even adults). |
I didn't know he meant literally crashing until I read the body. So he's saying "lift these sanctions or I'll drop this stuff on people"? Putin is looking for more ways to hold the world hostage. Russia is in no position to face NATO. The only thing Putin has going for him is his lack regards for human lives. He'd gladly burn down this planet if he feels cornered. And that's why the West is carefully treating him like a mad man with a gun. Anyone supporting him just because they dislike the West is not being logical in my opinion. |
lexy2014:Yes sir, he got his first surgery to whiten his skin and completely hide his vitiligo. |
lexy2014: 1Sharon:The OP shared a picture of what MJ would have looked like if he hadn't opted for surgery, and I said the picture ain't accurate cause it left out the vitiligo part. In other words, the man in the picture doesn't have vitiligo. Now remind me how these your questions relate to that comment. Anyway, for conversation sake, I'd answer nevertheless. I believe MJ changed his physical features in addition to whitening his skin cause a white man with a black man's physical features would be just as odd as someone with vitiligo singing and dancing on the screen especially in an industry like his. The keyword is "believe" cause we can only speculate at this moment. Whichever, I'm not in a position to judge him. He had a condition that was threatening to stop him from achieving his dream and he decided to put up a fight with all his resources. Whether he failed or succeeded is a question of perspective. |
Starzo:Lol... Wow, that degenerated so fast. OK, I'll leave it up to on readers to decide who turned out well. Enjoy your day, sir! |
Daboomb:Well, that's how you were raised and that explains why you think it's okay to hit kids. As for me, my parents never ever hit me for once and I'm doing great. I respect them a lot. There's nothing that indicates you turned out better than myself. My siblings don't hit thier kids and I ain't hitting mine. Majority for the time, people don't hit thier kids just because they want to correct them. They do it cause they're angry and they know the society would accept thier reaction as corrective. This leaves children at the mercy of people with different anger levels including the dangerous ones. Nothing has shown hitting kids produces better children. If anything, it creates a mindset that violence can be corrective in nature thus the reason why some people extend that to spouses. Thank you. NB: Hitting someone could be with your hand or any other tool. |
Tracka:Hhmm... Sir, let's leave humanity alone. The Nigerian law needs to be very strict regarding domestic violence. Imagine the number of people that think it's okay to hit their wives as a corrective measure in Delta according the pole share on here sometime ago. And someone on this platform said "you shouldn't just overdo it". This means he didn't think it was wrong provided you don't "overdo it". When we read about bad things done by ladies, everyone starts shouting "women, fear than gender!" But when a man is the culprit, it's humanity. No, this is not humanity, this is lawlessness in the country combined with a terrible mindset. That's why it happens more often there. I believe this stems from the fact it's okay to hit kids in Africa. So to many, hitting is corrective. While deep down, we all know it's more about anger than love. |
kokomilala:Just don't come online tomorrow to complain that Nigerian girls are oloshos since there's nothing wrong with using them when they're young and thirsty. |
Tomorrow, the same people will complain there's no decent girl to marry. You plant oloshos and want to harvest virgins. Hypocrisy. |
phoneport:You forget he was confirmed to have acute vitiligo. Without surgery, he would have ended up multi-colored. And his was also on his face.
|
Lol... why argue with "stupid stubborn people" just to win? |
Lol... I don't blame him. You're in Nigeria, why pay in dollars? These Nigerians might not know how to identify fake dollar notes, so I'd also reject it in thier shoes. |
Isn't there a minimum wage in Nigeria? |
Why are these folks on the front page bent on disparaging thier own country though? One didn't even allow the OP to show more than a couple of pics before rubbishing the whole thing. And the other chose to talk down the aviators he doesn't know. Y'all are praising other countries whose aviators you don't know. The OP never said Nigeria had the best. He only wanted to educate those who asked if the country had some. I see some solid fighter jets there. No country has ever gotten better by denigrating themselves. |
Actually, there's nothing here that indicates she was with the guy. Looks more like the guy was calculating the bills for everyone there. But yeah... let's curse women. |
Michelle70:Oh... OK. ![]() |
Michelle70:Isn't Deucalion a Greek god? |
ManirBK:I know the title calls it a hit back, but it's actually a survival move. They didn't place the ban to cripple the West. They placed the ban primarily to save thier own economy first. A dying economy can hardly cripple anyone. Besides, nothing in the Russian history shows they're great economists. China is the only country that can play this game with the West. |
Let's not spread false news, please. It would only make the situation worse. This has long been debunked. |
