Winornothing:@bolded, your development environment depends on the type of programming you're doing. You don't chose dev environment based on what the PC can handle. If a particular type of programming requires certain components to be installed, you'd have to install anyway. If basic HTML/CSS is the on the only stuff you're learning for now, then all you need is an editor. Editors are lightweight, your PC shouldn't have a problem taking care of that. Get VS Code and get started. |
I don't really understand what you mean by "can this laptop run programming" but if you're asking if can execute codes on the PC, you sure can. Most PC's can execute codes, it's just a matter if performance. For example, if you're using a heavy IDE like Visual Studio or NetBeans, the system might hang frequently. Again, if you're doing the kind of programming that would require you to run virtual machines, then this might not work. You have the PC with you already. Why not set up the development environment for the kind of programming you want to learn and see for yourself how it performs? If this is the only PC you have, then you'll have to manage it regardless of whatever performance issues you might face. Most open source stacks are lightweight. You can even use Notepad++ if it comes that. |
Nice... This same picture has been in circulation for long and people have been tagging different Nordic countries to it (mostly Denmark and Sweden). But it appears to really be in Denmark. Y'all should not make this about Nigeria though. The Danish model of treating criminals (including very short sentences like 3 months, 6 months and a year sentences for crimes that could get you years elsewhere) is quite unique. This particular prison is famed for its exquisite design. Even other prisons in the country aren't exactly like this. I heard they now take prisoners to the Netherlands for want of space. That said, this beautiful, buy a prison is still a prison. ![]() |
socialmediaman:I was expecting people to ask these questions. OP said things get missing in his house without telling us the kind of things or the people that have access to his place. |
Nairalandian:Perfect! |
Nairalandian:Lol... dude, I'm not sure it's cool thing to unmask someone like that though. ![]() |
Zico5:Why don't they recognize it? |
naija4life247:The Nigerian internet community is more interested in looking for fellow black Africans to call "black charcoal". Each time I remember some people mock others for being "too black" in Africa, I feel very bad. |
flokii:But these associations are created by black people themselves in search of solidarity. Don't you think we've developed a habit of blaming the white man for everything? |
BrickDevo:Haha... oh Africa what happened to thee?? Forgive our trespasses, oh wise one! Teach us that we may know, how should we answer such foreigners? |
Hahahaha!!! This is the best thing I've read on the Internet in a long time! The fact that Caribbeans hopped in to join those of us from the motherland is so heartwarming. |
Congratulations to her! |
greypencils:2010? I grew up in Canada. Gay marriage has been a thing here since 2003 and that was just the formal recognition. Decriminalization of homosexuality in Canada was long before that. About three European countries legalized gay marriage before Canada with Netherlands being the first in 2001. I personally have gay couples as a friends. Your lack of facts simply suggests you are discussing a subject you know little about. There's no data to support that kids raised by gay parents are normal? Dude, do you even know anything about argument? The burden of proof is not on me. You're the one suggesting kids raised by gay parents are not normal, you're the one that has something to prove. You don't know any gay couple personally. You don't know any kids with gay parents. You just sit somewhere in Africa and decide kids raised by gay parents are not normal and we're supposed to just flow with it? I now see why y'all killed your twins in the past. |
greypencils:Let me ask you this, how many people (kids or adults) do you know who have gay parent? I can bet my last penny the answer is none. But somehow, you believe that kids raised by queer parents are not normal? I have asked you over and over again, what is the bases for this believe? How many kids raised by gay parents are gay today? How are they not normal? You just keep saying the same thing while avoiding the issue. Lengthy write-ups or bringing up other factors are just you trying to avoid the core of this discussion. I know teens with gay parents. I've seen gay parenting in action. I can tell you categorically that these kids are not abnormal. Funny enough, I don't personally know any gay couple that has gay children. So what exactly is your point about letting kids be kids? |
greypencils:You did not answer. If the sexual orientation of the parents have such direct effect on the orientation of the kids, how come most of the gay people all the world have straight parents? You say they have rights and the that same breath, you say they shouldn't have kids. So you're the one limiting thier rights cause they're not like you? The issue here is that most of y'all get so emotional over this subject thaf you don't bend down to be considerate and apply logic. Gay people are nobody's problem and there's no data, theory or anything that states that people with queer parents end up being queer. As an adolescents, you found yourself attracted to women. It's not because your parents were heterosexuals. |
greypencils:According to you, gay people bringing up kids means the kids would be "brought up in queer" and therefore would to have to be gay? So how come the gay people themselves who were brought up by straight parents didn't end up straight? Dude, I don't need to be an lGBTQ+ member to know that no one should be denied fundamental human rights cause of orientation, race, gender, etc. I don't know how you guys in Africa don't see how discriminatory that is but you're always the first to shout "white are racist!" They didn't desire to be LGBTQ+ just like you didn't desire to be straight. You're not more "human" than anybody and you'recertainly not in a position to say who should have kids and who shouldn't. If they want to have kids, they deserve it. If God doesn't want them to, he can easily deny them conception. It's not up to you. You guys should learn to live and let others live. |
greypencils:@bolded: Is it that they don't know what they want or that you don't agree with they want? Cause it seems you clearly stated what they want yourself. If you're saying wanting to have babies must be accompanied with wanting to sleep with a man, then I think you're the one who can't clearly state wants. As a lady, I can desire to have sex without wanting babies cause I know sex doesn't necessarily have to result to babies. I can also decide to have babies without wanting to have sex with a man cause I know having babies doesn't necessarily mean I must sleep with a man. Yours is just let me live my own life how I want it while you live yours how you want it. |

Truvelisback:You seem to have forgotten what led to this chat. You said the person would be held responsible if the employee commits a crime. Here is your comment: It's very dangerous especially if the person u are standing as a referee is not trustworthy. If the person commits crime and runs away, u will be held responsible, pay his/her or the debt or be punished for his or her crime. And I said that only applies to a guarantor, not a referee cause a referee has no legal obligation. So it wasn't a matter of whether they'd be called or not. I only wanted to correct the misconception that a referee would be held accountable in case of professional misconduct or misrepresentation ok the employee's part. If I taught you in school and you were a good student, I could be your referee based on that alone, but that's not enough to be your guarantor except I'm also ready to bear the consequences of your actions. Finally, here is someone that knows the difference. ![]() simplesearch: |
Truvelisback:No they don't. I just gave you the difference. If they were the same thing, financial institutions wouldn't be asking for both and even insist the same person shouldn't be used for both roles. A few examples below: 1) Do you have a domicillary account with GT bank? Well, take a look at the form, you'd see both roles are required and the requirement is that only someone that has a dorm account with the bank can act as a guarantor. 2) Have you ever posed as a guarantor or referee for someone who got a banking job? Well, I have been asked to do both in the past and the requirement was that I must submit something called BVN to be accepted as a guarantor. I ended up posing as the referee instead. 3) Have you ever been asked to be a referee or a guarantor for someone applying for citizenship? I have and again, the requirements are different. Finally, you have Google. But if you just want to keep repeating "they are the same!" it's fine. I just needed to clarify that for the OP and others reading the thread. Enjoy yourself! |
jaxxy:Ok. Thanks. |
Truvelisback:A referee is a person who can recommend the person who you are considering hiring for the particular role. Thier job is to vouch for the qualifications or characters the candidate claims to have. A referee is typically for former teacher (for freshman grads), a former boss/supervisor or a well known person in the same field. Typically, you only need to supply thier contact details. A guarantor is someone who offers a guarantee or a promise of certainty that if the person you hired doesn’t turn out to be who they have posed to be, they will bear fully the liability or partially (depending on the agreement) resulting from it. Typically, it is advised that a guarantor is someone who has known and is very familiar with the candidate for a certain period of time. This can be anyone (even family members). The guarantor must be comfortable with giving out personal information (sometimes, bank account details). So you see, they play different roles and only certain kinds of organizations ask for guarantors. Some organizations (mostly financial and government organizations) don't accept the same person as a guarantor and referee). Finally, there's always a text before the guarantor's signature that gives a full detail of what he's signing while the referee doesn't have that. |
From Nollywood to Instagram celebrities, the blame game continues. |
Truvelisback:I believe you are referring to a guarantor. A referee has no legal obligation. He's just someone that can be called to confirm whatever the candidate wrote in his resume. |
If you know the person well enough, it shouldn't matter that you work there. |
jaxxy:God sacrificed his son to himself? Hhmm... OK. |
FuckYouPorn:You believe they're being dishonest because you caught one of them doing it or because you just think it's impossible to abstain for that long? |
Poor guy... I saw a thread for those who want to stop this kind of addiction, why don't you join them for solidarity sake? You've made the first step by identifying your problem and showing willingness to address it. But that won't be enough, you need inspiration/motivation from those who have been there. Good luck, and remember to take it easy on yourself. |
jaxxy:@bolded, sacrifice to whom? |
