If since 1999 (forget preceding years since the useless military was in charge) Anambra had been lucky to have a bold and visionary leader that found a way to raise say $200 million dollars which would be used solely to build a kickass, state-of-the-art 2nd Niger bridge which would be tolled, i'm sure by now the bridge would have paid for itself and been yielding a handsome profit!

The money could have been raised either by a dedicated infrastructure levy on all businesses in the state; a loan from either China or other world financial institutions at favourable terms; a percentage of improved yearly IGR takings (say 20%); etc. This same model could have also been used to build other critical infrastructure like gas-fed power plants for industrial zones in the state; a int'l airport; or improvements in Onitsha main market to bring it up to world-class standards.

If the south-east governors totally blank that thing in Aso Rock now you'd be the first to scream that Igbos are 'intolerant' and play 'divisive politics'! They're asking for nothing more than their due; or are you saying that Igbos should be forced to be part of your 'one Nigeria' but shouldn't get any federally enabled projects in their region while the south-west and north-west get theirs? Is your argument that Ndigbo gave your god 5% and so deserve nada?

You think you're being smart when you argue that no service chief comes from the north-west, and hence it's ok for no Igbo to head any of the military, paramilitary or security agencies. Or are you now arguing that Igbos are not a major ethnic group in Nigeria like the Hausa/Fulani and Yoruba?
