Just few highrise buildings and the beauty will be out the world
I don't know why we get excited with stuff like this!

No doubt there's been some improvements, but looking at these recent pics with a critical eye one can see little or no attempt has been made at landscaping...esp' in and around the int'l conference centre area! Also, there's been no attempt to plant trees on those avenues to green up the place and give it a lush/green look! These things i've mentioned are cheap and easy to do, but with the kind of 'local' mindset those governing us have, it's not seen as necessary to do!
PoliticsRe: FFK: Alex Badeh Had 4 Security Men With Him When He Was Assassinated by Xander85: 12:00pm On Dec 21, 2018
shagaman:
Looking at Badeh killing , a sensible person should know the Buhari govt would gain nothing killing him reason is simple this man was being investigated for embezzlement of funds meant for arms deal by the previous govt, now being investigated definitely this past done deals involves people of high calibre who might not want there names mentioned...now he is out of the way...can th govt investigate a dead man about arms deal funds diverted.
You APC/Buhari minions are desperately trying to deflect blame from your god and his gang by selling this narrative that Badeh was assassinated by partners in his corruption schemes! Is he the first high-profile individual to be accused of corruption by this gov't?

When government is involved the case drags on forever until everybody gets tired and forgets about it.
Exactly!

It's certain that the man was assassinated because they were afraid he would spill the beans when he starts his defence in his corruption case! That man was murdered by elements sympathetic to this evil Buhari gov't, and i can swear with my life that if those murderers have PVCs, they will vote for Buhari next year!

Nigeria is such a hell-hole that even satan himself would vehemently protest if you ask him to relocate from hell to Nigeria! Just a few days ago, a number of innocent individuals were murdered in cold blood in southern kaduna, and the gov't hasn't said anything about it....everyone is carrying on as if it's goats that were slaughtered! That's 'lovely Nigeria' for you!

It was clear cut. No room for doubt. Everyone knows that. Even Osinbanjo knew he lost. I still like Osinbanjo though, because you can always palpably see him struggling within himself to stand for the right things, but he can't. A case of wrong company. It was that case of self doubt that made him stammer ''were, were, were". If left for him, he will make a 360 degree turn from Buhari's style, but it is not left for him. That is the reason Buhari needs to go because he has made brilliant people to look so dumb
True dat bros! smiley

Governance for some of you starts and ends with 'what he brought to my village'....no one has a pan-Nigerian outlook towards governance at the centre! Latter now, you'd be deceptively screaming 'one Nigeria' and look at me quizzically, wanting to know why i'm not joining you in your madness! sad

PoliticsRe: 2019: Umahi Presents N188.4b Budget To Ebonyi Asembly by Xander85: 12:28pm On Dec 19, 2018
Just listening to the presentation of the Ebonyi state 2019 budget. The source of funding as explained by the Governor is as follows:

*Unutilised funds provision, carried forward as the opening book balance for the financial year: 22.441 billion
*Statutory allocation from the federation account: 99.76 billion (53%)
*IGR: 10 billion (5.3%) He stated the gov't is not satisfied with this figure and they hope to improve on it.
*Funds from other sources: 6 billion (3.18%)
*Loan (internal and external): 50.2 billion. He said 50 billion is from the African Development Bank for the planned ring-road project, and the money would not be paid into the states coffers but would go directly to the contractors.

He stated the state gov't intends to increase its tax revenue by aggressively diversifying into numerous untaxed revenue sources. The sources include: land property documentation; fines and fees; collections from quarries and mining; agriculture; etc.

Dracomemnon:
You obviously know nothing about Ebonyi. If you did, you'd know that last year's budget was higher and implemented successfully. Don't worry in your proposed confederate system you'll see how Ebonyi will be boosted. There's so much hate in your words. I wish you large amounts love.
You should know from the post laced with bile and derision, that the mofo obviously has ongoing 'issues' with Igbos and is trying to mask it by 'complaining' of Ebonyi depending on the Rivers, Bayelsa and Lagos that he mentioned!

The problem i have with these two-faced schmucks is that they always trot out the argument that Igbo states are depending on Lagos or the so called south-south states rich in oyel and gas, but the moment you say, 'no wahala....let's spare you the agony of having to support us financially by seceding to form our own republic', they'd be up in arms, screaming treason and demanding for you head on a platter! shocked

But for the warped and useless kind of federalism practised in Nigeria, Ebonyi would have been able to manage its own natural resources by itself and wouldn't need any stupid federal allocation that some would not let us hear for!

Even this talk of restructuring (as inadequate as i think 'restructuring' would be)....check the people vehemently opposed to it. Are they Igbos?

do your research and you will know he did not manage the bank properly. it fel under his watch...the bank is actually distressed...google is your friend
Dude, there's nothing to research! There are three parties involved in this issue: Access Bank; Diamond Bank; and the regulators (CBN)! Of the three, we've heard from just one that says it's a merger! So until we hear otherwise from any of the other two, merger is what i'm going with!
BusinessRe: Uzoma Dozie Gives Details Of Access And Diamond Banks "Merger" by Xander85: 7:45pm On Dec 17, 2018
arrestdarrester:
Bros cool down and follow the trajectory of Diamond. First you close your UK operations. The narrative was cost-cutting. Next, you sold your West African operations. The narrative was focus. With nothing left to sell you sold your birthright. And the narrative? Merger.

Well, just in case you insist on it being a merger, I agree with you. After all we both agree 'apple' is a kind of computer.
I'm already cool, so no need telling me to cool down!

None of us are privy to the details of the merger, so all we're doing is speculating!

Could it be that Diamond Bank is actually distressed? Possibly! But it could also be nothing more than a merger between the two banks to create Nigerias' largest commercial bank! The issue i had with some on this thread was how they zeroed in on just one possibility and began abusing the MD of Diamond Bank, with some even targeting his ethnicity!

If Access Bank was acquiring Diamond as a distressed bank, they're under no obligation to lie about it! After all, Spring Bank was recently bought by another bank and the facts that it was a distressed bank were laid bare for all!

Diamond Bank closing its foreign UK and African operations could actually be part of deal for the merger to go ahead. After all, why maintain these foreign operations when the bigger bank they're merging with already has bigger and possibly more advanced operations in the UK and West Africa?

PoliticsRe: Buhari Has Asked NBS To Change Statistics On Unemployment Rate —Presidency by Xander85: 6:45pm On Dec 17, 2018
It appears Buhari has a very shaky understanding of what having a job....being employed is!

What's the difference between someone hired to plant on a rice farm and a tomato seller or yahoo boy sat in front of a computer? Do any of them have a signed contract between them and a employer detailing their pay and benefits like holidays and sick pay, and do the employers make a contributory payment to the employees pension fund?

Go back and study what mergers actually means! You think Access Bank would want to merge with Diamond if the later was distressed? This merger could possibly birth the largest commercial bank in Nigeria!

Any excuse to go tribal....that's all you're looking for innit?

Even them not forming consortium, how many of have concrete investment not mansion and unnecessary NGOs, is not in this state that a governorship aspirant that championed industrialization is now proudly building a refinery in lagos.
Hate him or love him thats why a good number of imolite still support Rochas , yes he stole but he invested where he stole from.
I guess you're talking of Capt Iheanacho. I still can't fathom why he chose Lagos over his state that's an oil and gas producing state! huh As we speak, Buhari (together with his Nigerien brother) is planning to build a $2 Billion refinery in Katsina...together with a rail line linking his village of Daura to Niger! No mention is made of the viability of said projects or the propriety of the chosen locations; other considerations trump the little matter of viability and location when it comes to citing projects in the north. But come down to Imo, and you see Capt Iheanacho choosing Lagos over his Imo state for reasons best known to him!

You mentioned Okorocha having his investments in Imo. Could you mention one or two of them? I only know of that nice estate his wife built in Owerri....nothing else!
