Anyone in Enugu know the present state of this public building? This was one of the buildings the Queen of England visited during her 1956 visit to the then Eastern Region (see accompanying YouTube clip).

I think the level of our maintenance culture is scandalous to say the least! Just look at how they've left that building to rot! Some public buildings of the same age in Kaduna and Lagos are still well looked after and in use, while abroad building hundreds of years old are still in use or have become national monuments that attract visitors!

Really sad!

What's this one talking about, is it a crime for a people to assert their resolution that has been built over time? Abef waka pass.
I knew the sort of scum my post will draw out of the sewer.....no surprises! They know i'm referring to them hence the response!

Dude, read the title of this thread again and tell me what it says! Just to assist you in case you're as thick as your posts actually suggest: it says 'Pan-Igbo political and economic forum'! Breaking it down, it means it's a forum where like-minded Igbos with a Pan-Igbo disposition meet and rub minds together! It doesn't say 'Pan-Omambala, Pan-Ngwa or Pan-Ndoni forum'....kapish?

I'm not against anyone protecting their turf or promoting a Sub-Igbo supremacist agenda, but is it asking for too much if i ask you try to find the appropriate thread for it? Last i checked, the Anambra thread is still there, so why not take your Omambala/Anambra supremacist agenda over there and knock yourselves out?

You seem to make jest of my reply to your brother who asked if i'm Igbo. I replied that i'm from Ndoni, and for some funny reason you scoff in derision. Care to fill me in on what you find so offensive about Ndoni?

Enugu airport remains death trap, S-East Govs insist

By Dennis Agbo

ENUGU-GOVERNORS of South East region have disagree with statement by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, that the Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu was safe for use.

The Governors rather insisted “that the airport is not safe as there are no runway lights, the tarmac is bumpy with potholes, while one of the buildings destroyed by storm for over two years has become an eyesore. The cargo section of Akanu Ibiam International Airport is not functional.”

The Governors had recently raised the alarm that the Enugu international Airport was no longer safe for landing, but FAAN in opposition to the Governors claim said the airport was safe.

However, addressing newsmen in Enugu on Wednesday, the Director General of South East Governors Forum, Prof Simon Ortuanya said “It is, indeed, a shame that a whole region as economically robust South East doest not have an airport that can land all categories of aircraft. The Federal government should please come to our aid by making the airport more functional.” The Governors further observed that the Enugu state governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has taken the challenge of helping to fix the airport “but we know also that the burden is too heavy for a state government.”

On the much politicised second Niger bridge, the governors noted that the project has indeed become a political chess board in the hands of politicians seeking Igbo votes, but appealed to the federal government to assist the region by ensuring that it is completed. “We have become aware that it was only in July 2018, that the contract for the second Niger bridge project was signed. Inspite of the fact that the first foundation laying ceremony was undertaken in 2013. We pray that this will not be another lip service to realisation of the second Niger bridge,” the Governors stated.

3. Just write your igbo name....only your igbo name...no other name.

4. Why are u invading igbo land annd causing friction between brothers.?
I feel uncomfortable having this exchange with you because i find you to be quite disgusting if i'm to be perfectly honest! I know you're the linchpin of this entire operation, a totally nasty piece of work, and an insecure Igbo hating bigot to boot! I'm also certain you know the person or are the one that cloned my IGBOSON moniker, and i ask: to what end....what do you hope to achieve?

Stop being evasive and prancing around in circles! Hell will first freeze over before i tell a despicable toad like you my name!

I've told you where i'm from, Ndoni, and consider myself to be Igbo! DO YOU THINK I'M IGBO OR IGBO ENOUGH SEEING AS I'M NOT FROM ANY OF THE 5 SOUTH-EASTERN STATES?

Chef2000, Ezeonyembo, Ikpuchinonye, Nnewisuper is one person. This is for people that don't know. cheesy
And who are you?

I'm quite aware of what's going on in this thread over the past 4 to 5 days! This is a pan-Igbo thread, and has seen many of the hard issues and challenges facing us a people being discussed.....this has helped many of us better understand ourselves and appreciate why long-held misgivings, suspicions and angst have persisted!

Some have seen this, and alarm bells have started to ring that this thread is serving as a means to unite Ndigbo towards a common cause and agenda! These scum are the same animals that are responsible for the dismemberment and deliberate shrinking of Alaigbo in the late 60s, and they are the ones also responsible for trying to derail this thread as they see it as a threat!

Those people claiming to be fighting and supporting 'Omambala' whatever? They're impostors...not real Igbo, and they're using this imagined attack on 'Omanbala' as an excuse to abuse other Igbo states so as to set the cat amongst the pidgeons and get Igbos fighting one another! In their minds, they hope this will help maintain the divisions they put in place since the late 60s!

The bastards that have been endlessly commenting on here; posting old disgusting pics of Igbos states/cities, and those who have persisted in replying and retaliating with even more old horrid pics of igbos cities.....all these are either monikers created by one Igbo hater, or there's a command and control centre that's charged with creating monikers to help in their accursed mission. Also these past few days, there are some on here acting like nothing is wrong and still making posts or replying these same Igbo hating bigots and by extension giving them some kind of 'legitimacy'....these very people are either not Igbos and in on the act themselves, or they're Igbos but very dense and stupid not to notice when they're being played!

I continue to watch the charade playing out on here since the mods appear not able or willing to ban these swine together with the IP address they operate from. You've got to be really insecure and afraid of Ndigbo to be able to go to this extent just to try and cause division among them!

So 'igboson', under which category does your pathetic arsse fall under? smiley

Most comments are just ridiculous.
So because the Ghanaian king didn't leave his kingdom means he won't bend to what the west wants if they truly want it? Just laughable.

Ghana has a sole king, Nigeria does not even have regional kings. How do you expect on a two day visit for Prince Charles to visit monarchs who are not even regional kings.
This is exactly the point, and it shows the difference in mindset between the two countries!
Doesn't it strike you as odd that Nigeria has hundreds of traditional rulers all jockeying for front-row recognition, while Ghana on the other hand has just one prominent respected traditional ruler?

Or are you guys arguing that when Africa was partitioned during the Berlin conference of 1884-85, that the area now called Ghana was one homogeneous ethnic/cultural entity while the area now known as Nigeria was made of distinct and disparate ethnic groups thus accounting for the many traditional rulers that went to meet with Prince Charles in Abuja, whereas in Ghana only one prominent monarch met with him?

If anything this speaks to the fact that Ghanaians are matured and more of a united nation than Nigeria could ever hope to be!

In Nigeria (more so in the south), every little hamlet wan form autonomous community or ethnic nationality out of pure greed and envy! Also, their materialistic arsses have sussed out that they can use this chieftaincy and kingship to corner some funds from the state and federal gov'ts when political parties and candidates are looking for innovative ways to bribe the electorate for their votes!

Exactly!

If Ndigbo rest on their oars and think APC has no chance in the south-east because of how we despise the party and Buhari, then they'll get the shock of their lives! Don't underestimate the guile and desperation of the likes of Buhari, Oshiomole, Amaechi, El-Rufai and Tinubu to cling on to power come 2019!

Politics and voting in Nigeria has hardly ever been about who gets the higher number of validly caste votes! The fairest election we've ever had in Nigeria was the june 12 1993 election (and look what happened afterwards wink), while coming a distant second was the 2011 elections (only b'cos a large part of the northern oligarchy had decided to support to GEJ)! All other ones were determined mainly by allocation of figures in the palaces and darkened parlours of the 'owners of Nigeria' and their southern lackeys, and this is what will happen next year! With their control of INEC, the crooked judiciary and partisan military, it'll be a breeze!

They will rig, and turn around to tell you to 'go to court if you're not satisfied with the results'! And at the entrance to the court, there'll be one compromised Abubakar or Okon-Abang waiting to welcome you in! wink

It's because of the greed and longthroat of most southern politicians, who stand for little more than the pecuniary interests they aim to gain from politics! They can easily be bullied or bought over, while their fellow crooked politicians up north first make sure their greed and longthroat is in keeping with the interests of Islam and Arewa before agreeing to anything! This gives the core muslim north an advantage over the south, and enables them to gain more out of the murky waters in which politics is played in Nigeria! wink

The environment isn't conducive for academic pursuits like inventing! Ever wondered why these same Nigerians go abroad and record achievements not just in science and technology, but also in sports, music, politics and the literary fields?

Achievements in science and technology in a country are only as good as the amount of attention it gets by way of investments from government and corporate entities!

I suspected APGA had lost focus as a party during its primaries and had descended into the gutter of playing the Nigerian 'godfather and moneybag politics' most other parties play!

They had the chance of picking a cerebral and proven candidate in the person of Sam Amadi, but who did they go for? They went for same-old-same-old in the person of Araraume....the usual crooked, cash-and-carry Nigerian politician that can't point to any achievement besides wealth from dodgy business deals and a career in filthy Nigerian politics! Same thing in Anambra where they left an intelligent daughter and instead chose another career politician with enough money to bribe the greedy delegates!

So no surprises that they've hitched a ride with the very same hateful bigots that have ignored, marginalized, maltreated and even murdered their kinsfolk!
