Cost of Labor in Ebonyi is definitely the cheapest in the south east and south south. That’s why they are able to do so much with tiny allocations while some states with bigger allocation are struggling to produce tangible projects and with inflated costs.
I think you've just hit on the key to Ebonyis' success!

Another project site, but I don't know what they are building here. This is still in Abakaliki.
I remember seeing a render of this some time ago. It's going to be a highrise for offices and banks in the int'l market area.

This looks like port Harcourt road.
this is a federal road which the FG abandoned over the years which is being rehabilitated by the state government.
the last time I went to Aba,setraco is seriously working from the express end of the road.
those that have been there recently should confirms.
You sound like a gov't otimpku!

This work setraco dey do, e no dey finish? He's been governor for nearly 4 years now, yet all we get from you guys on a road as bad as Port Harcourt road is 'setraco is seriously working on the road'!

As for it being a federal road, this is part of the shi't we have to take for being part of this cursed country!

It's obvious they've exposed a racket specialising in trafficking children!

A stranger came in and handed over a child and you didn't ask for the identification papers and other proof that the child is his!? She could have asked for the childs birth certificate, the mans bank identity card or family pics as proof! If he struggled to present any of these then she should have been on the phone to the police ASAP to come and arrest him!

Knowing how depraved and wicked some Nigerians can be, i just pity any child in one of these so called orphanages. Especially those hidden away in decrepit crime-ridden areas and are hardly ever monitored by the relevant gov't agencies...the children would almost certainly be abused or face a worse fate!

I quite agree. The problem of Aba on Nairaland is that the parts of the city that we see pictures of is like only 2-3% of the city. And to make it worse, its the busiest and dirtiest parts of the city..

I remember when in the past, when the only pictures of Onitsha that we used to see was the dirty and crowded head bridge and upper Iweka areas.

What Aba needs is a good image more than anything else. We need people to take good quality pictures of the developing parts of the city. This will encourage more investors to come and invest.
Makes you wonder if Aba has any youths with cam phone at all! undecided

Then all of a sudden they get to the part where you and Ofodirinwa posted gruesome pictures including pictures of dead and beheaded people. Do you think that investor will feel encouraged to invest in Igboland after that?
Please go back to those pages and delete those pictures you posted. Lets bring back respect and sanity to this thread. Thank you
Forget that guy bros. I've come to the conclusion he's lost a few marbles, so i just scroll down from his posts. How can someone who claims to be a human being, never mind being Igbo, keep a file of dead kinsfolk and disgusting old pics of cities and towns in Igboland in readiness to upload them in the name of e-fight!? This leads me to believe he's not actually Igbo!

Without even asking, the mods ought to have removed any gory pics he's uploaded and ban his quarrelsome arsse till the second coming of Christ! But they wouldn't do that for obvious reasons!

I love Malls that are one or two storey high. I HATE Bungalow malls.

I love this Abakaliki Mall already. It might turn out to even beat Polo Park Mall, Enugu!

Dave Umahi does everything with a touch of class and quality. Which many SE governors sadly lack.
True dat!

The other governors (ex) that equally paid attention to class and style were Dr Opkara, Dee Mbakwe and Chime! Could have included Rochas as well, but the quality of some of his jobs leaves a lot to be desired!

Compare Umahis' jobs with those ugly 60s looking buildings his predecessor put up as the state secretariat! I never liked those buildings which always remind me of the old faculty of social sciences at UNN! Elechi could have built three or four imposing multi-storied buildings (like Diete-Spiff did in Port Harcourt) instead of all those multitude of low-rise ones... they could have been more appealing to the eyes as well as well as left more land for landscaping and parks!

Your maazi KANU is a terrorist and a hateful racist! This is just d beginning. No company wants to invest in a volatile environment that is prone to unrest. You Igbo's should keep fooling yourselves that u are agitating. By the time the entire south east records zero investment, unemployment escalates astronomically and poverty becomes d order of the day, then ur brains will come down.
Dude, you don't need to explain your feelings towards Mazi Kanu and Ndigbo....i know already!

Mazi kanu just woke up one morning and started being 'hateful' towards you lot abi? IPOB and MASSOB that came into being from the mid noughties have been terrorising, been hateful and racist towards Yoruba and Hausa/Fulani who hitherto had been showing us nothing but love abi?

You sit there and call Mazi Kanu a terrorist. Do you actually know the meaning of terrorism? You know how the rest of the world have a zero tolerance for terrorism, and how they take note of all terrorist organisations? How come no other country besides your darling Nigeria have tagged IPOB terrorists? You know the same int'l community that don't see a problem with IPOB and its non-violent approach to secession have gone ahead to tag Fulani Herdsmen and Boko Haram as terrorists? What does this tell you about your country and its level of deceit? Bare in mind that as we speak, your darling Nigeria is yet to tag these same Fulani Herdsmen as terrorists.

Dude, i ain't fooling myself about Nigeria and the place of Ndigbo in it, and this is why i want to see the back of you nasty lot! The political-economy of Nigeria has been skewed in favour of the Yoruba and Hausa-Fulani right from the late 60s to date...it didn't start with the coming of Mazi Kanu, and sad to say with the present structure of Nigeria it will continue long after Mazi Kanu is gone! It's ok to say Ndigbo are being punished because of the Nzeogwu coup....i ain't gonna jump out of your laptop and punch you in the face for saying so! wink

The only Igbos fooling themselves, and the ones you and i should be laughing at are the ones that actually believe they have a chance in hell surviving as a people in a shithole like Nigeria....esp' Nigeria in it's present state! Funnily enough, majority of them can presently be found kidding themselves in your party APC!

It's just like the writer of this article read my mind! This is exactly the sentiments i expressed on the Pan-Igbo thread a few days ago....and i equally laid part of the blame at the door-mouth of our short-sighted and naive Igbo political elite!

Despite controlling over 60% of the country’s trade and investment, yet hash federal and regional policies have remained in place ensuring zero presence of functional international passenger and cargo airports, seaports and wharfs, railways, seaport bridges and roads as well as establishment of diplomatic missions anywhere in Igbo Land. Such age long hash policies are designed to make Igbo Nation and her People mere spectators in the Nigerian Economy with political leaders in Igbo Land chronically circling and recycling political frivolities, irrelevancies, shortsightedness, leprously and brigandage.
Many of us are just too dumb to actually see what's been going on in this so called 'nation' since the late 60s, and anyone bold enough to point out all this cheating and wickedness is immediately hated by our traducers as can be seen in the case of Mazi Kanu!

I don't want to hear anything about Enugu airport after the malfeasance of Stella Oduah as Aviation minister. She was in power and had every opportunity in the world to upgrade that airport to world class standard and left an embarrassing mess behind sinking billions with no result to show.
Then skip over my posts when you see them or else 'hear about Enugu airport' you will!

Care to point out anywhere in my post history where i've stated Senator Oduah did enough for AIIA-Enugu? She may not have done enough, but she did something...even in the face of the challenges she would have faced by the usual Igbo haters and traducers who eventually put pressure on GEJ to sack her over an administrative error of which the likes of Buhari and his mob have done much worse but are still sitting pretty in office!

It's because of her that AIIA will have a new int'l terminal, even if the Buhari/APC gov't has abandoned it while the ones in Kano, Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja are soon to be commissioned!

Your argument is that since you think Senator Oduah did nothing for AIIA-Enugu, then it's ok for Buhari and his anti-Igbo gov't to ignore it! Silly argument dude!

You see how the Kaduna airport was completed on schedule and within a few weeks, and is now running int'l operations? Now turn the page to the issue of AIIA-Enugu, and you have the aviation minister of state (visiting the so called int'l airport a few weeks back for first time since being appointed minister in 2015) reeling out a catalogue of woes and challenges facing the airport that prevents it from operating optimally....problems which still persist today as we speak!

The airforce (or army...can't remember which one) is occupying a spot that prevents the expansion of the airports operations. Governor Ugwuanyi has offered them another even bigger location someplace else, but guess what.....you guessed right wink....they've refused to budge! shocked

You see my friend, I hardly comment on this forum, for obvious reasons, amongst which is the lack of decorum exhibit here. But I'm constrained to comment on this particular case this morning.

You see, I think the Igbos, in Nigeria, are politically naive. Unlike the Yorubas and the Hausas, how can you expect every Indigbo to belong to just one political party-APGA? No one wins a general election in a polarised country like Nigeria?

Take the SW for instance, before it used to be the AD, then it transformed into AC, then ACN and now the APC, all in their bid and effort to be relevant at the centre, aligning with friends and foes alike. Remember the saying in politics "no parmanent friend, no parmanent foe".

But the Igbos sees every other person as their enemies.

Well, this is my humble opinion and I stand to be corrected.
Please do yourself a favour and shut da fuc/k up!

If Ndigbo are naive as you claim because they prefer to be under one political umbrella, how is that any of your business!?

See your smug, funky mouth like 'aligning with friends and foes alike'! If that's the case why railroading and rigging PDP out of your region....painting them as a party not out for the best interest of the Yoruba, and herding every Yoruba person and state into APC by-fire-by-force, by-hook-or-crook!?

If Igbos likewise say the see APC as antithetical to Igbo interests, why do you have a problem with that? It's not as if Igbos are not well represented in other parties like the PDP, so what's your point?

I am tired of explaining to you guys that decree 34 effectively destroyed the regional structure of Nigerian. It seems you guys just hold on to the dogma that unification is equal to regionalism and are ready to defend that illogical belief with your lives.

I had advised you guys to read decree 34 of 1966, but you will not. Well, if you cannot find it, I will help you with a link;
https://dawodu.com/decree34.htm

Please read it to know the implication of the decree.

The region's changed from 3 to 4 in 1962, with the creation of Midwest Region, that did not change nigeria's government structure. Even if we had 36 regions then operating the 1959 constitution, our government structure would not have changed. Removing power from 4 regions and replacing it with 4 states subservient to the central government significantly changes the governmental structure.
You guys are funny! It's easy to pick holes at the actions or inactions of Ironsi as you have the benefit of hindsight! Who knows how things would have panned out if the northern soldiers hadn't been hell-bent on visiting retribution on anyone perceived to be Igbo for the sins of a few soldiers who were from other ethnic groups as well!

I know your next line of argument would be that Ironsi should have had the coupists tried and executed to calm things. Probably so, but this is where his naivety comes in. He didn't chose that option out of malice towards northern muslims and wanting to 'protect' his kinsfolk as i'm sure you want to suggest, and this can be seen in how he naively trusted and surrounded himself with northerners right up till his death. He didn't seem to appreciate the fact northern muslim soldiers had it in for him...this gullible, naive and trusting nature has been a problem i've noticed with many politicians from the east in their relations with those from other ethnic grps in Nigeria!

This unification thing you keep on harping on about; when the decree was promulgated, did it also distort the fiscal set-up of the federation? If it did, care to tell me how the Eastern Region that was comfortable with the formula at the time would have benefited from said unification decree?

Fact of the matter is whatever misgivings one has on the actions of Ironsi, it should be noted that whatever he did or didn't do wasn't because there was a clandestine plan by Ndigbo to take advantage of the situation to dominate everyone else. But something tells me due to you rabid hate and suspicion for Ndigbo, you'd beg to differ! smiley
