E dey shock me! Nigeria is actually a conspiracy of the elite against the people, but we don't see it yet. How can opposition senators sit and say not much as a partisan fellow is put into the independent poll bodyhuh It can't ever make sense to me!

superCleanworks:
I have a feeling that it was Seyi Tinubu that brought up this childish, insensitive and irrelevant idea.
Someone with National Interest at heart can never think of spending Nigerian money for such LUXURY nonsense.

After buying the boat at 5 billion, what next?
- You pay for operating license.
- You continue to renew the license.
- All the maintenence and upgrades that will follow within the next 8 years will cost another 4 Billion naira (this is naija).

No returns on investment. Just a total money guzzling machine.
I so much agree with you. Once I saw this, I told myself, this has the giant imprint of someone like Seyi Tinubu. Can't tell me differently.

If this is true? It means God really spoke to him. Bishop Oyedepo once said, it's not compulsory for a Son of GOs to take over church that their father founded. Pst Isaac has his own calling and has yielded to God's call. May God's grace be upon him.
Honestly, this is impressive. It really would mean he heard from God. Only such conviction could make a heir leave an already built establishment like that.

To pay civil servant y’all get frightened but when it come to your corrupts brothers you guys know how to go about it Eni kure
God bless you! How much are civil servants paid sef? And how much do our political elites squander on ostentatious living. I saw a video of one of the new ministers touching down for the weekend at his homestate. It was a chartered flight. He had a retinue of accompanies and a long convoy of SUVs to go with. The cost of that one weekend trip from Abuja to the state capital would have paid the salaries of over 300, 000.

shoskid:
When you have buhari that'll over look things till get bad, You complained
Now you've Tinubu that listen to the people complained and adjusted based on their requests. You're still complaining
Nigerian is not easy to governed, Most of our people are just confused.
It is not about being confused. Buhari's situation was not good at all that he overlooked. That does not however make it good that Tinubu beat back on almost every appointment after announcement.

It is a symptom that something is not im order especially when it repeats overtime. Also think about those involved. You can imagine it was you your name appeared on such a list and you have received 1001 congratulatory calls and so forth and next, the name is dropped without strong reasons.

It can still be tidier than that. It's a national administrative unit and not just a local county somewhere.
PoliticsRe: Tinubu drops, Replaces Ondo, Cross River Nominees In newly-Appointed NDDC Board by xangerar: 10:33pm On Sep 01, 2023
The manner the president reverses on appointments is ridiculously scandalous and suggestive of a big political power play of dog eat dog within the presidency.

Stop justifying what's not justifiable.
Politics in the middle East is motivated by religion!.
Everything in the Middle East is motivated by religion.
Religion is the culture in the Middle East.
Culture, daily lives, faith and every imaginable things in the Middle East is shaped by religion.
I didn't justify the action. I only tried to expand the view, to state that the immediate act of handshake was not actually the big issue as seemed, but the more complex issue of hostilities in the Middle East between Israel and most of her neighbours, including Iran.

You are right that religion drives the Middle East and that religion maybe at the centre of the crisis in the Middle East, but to also add that Iran and Saudi Arabia and most of those in confrontation with Israel have fairly better relationships with many other countries that are not of same religion as them.

Instead of religion, I would even say that anti-Jew or anti-Semitism as against the Jewish state and the Jewish race instead, maybe a better word to use to describe the motivation behind the bile against Israel.

What is wrong with shaking hands? Tufiakwa to most Muslims.
I hope you know it is not the handshake that is the issue, but the political situation between Israel and Iran which makes them mortal enemies.

Israel has such enemies in the middle east. Just days ago, it took a lot to get an Israeli commercial aircraft in an emergency situation land in Saudi Arabia. That's how politically charged relationships in the middle east is.

The best coup that can happen in Nigeria is we the citizen against the rulling class.

Gen. Sanni Abacha is dead but till today Nigeria is still going around to bring back his loot kept in different part of the world.

We Nigerians, our first mission must be against our states governors. These people are our biggest obstacles to our development. We Nigerians must wrestle the local governments full autonomy away from the states governors.
Very intelligent submission. Exactly my position, but which is not too popular an opinion. The war should be between the ruling class and the people and not all these other distractions they skilfully foist on the people on the basis of religion, ethnicity and so forth.

Suddenly, there are no Local Governments in Nigeria. ALGON is gone. NULGE is gone.

That's a crude way of disrespecting your deputy governor publicly
I doubt if Shuaibu didn't have a thing up his sleeves too. Look at that picture again and analyze it closely. Shuaibu obviously came in late while the governor and everyone was already seated and made for the governor with all eyes on them. That's a gross breach of protocol. He ought to be seated before the governor.

And I doubt if he had met the governor in private since he returned from the US and after the lawsuit.

No! In death is the end of all things, including the marriage contract. Death supersedes the return of bride price in terminating the marriage.

Probably, marriage takes more than most today are able to give to it, so most unions run on a deficit of the demand to keep it on.

About the body, she must have invested a lot in it. Go and see Kate Henshaw and the kind of work-out she does and you will understand why she is like that at 50. Venita must be big on such routines too.

Foreign AffairsRe: Any Attack Will Lead To Disintegration Of ECOWAS - Guinea Backs Niger by xangerar: 12:19pm On Aug 01, 2023
Thomanad:
What's ECOWAS going to do now?
It is tough, extremely tough. I just hope ECOWAS will have the courage to beatback and negotiate without the overshadowing interest of the US and France. But it is difficult with Russia in the picture as well.

What to learn from it is that this so called democracy without good governance and the welfare of the people at heart will no longer work. It makes it tougher for ECOWAS that the people of Niger supports the coupists against a so-called elected president. It tells a lot and gives not just justification but even legitimacy to the coup rather than to any foreign intervention.

Such pessimism about the system. It took the police one month looking for him and within this one month it was not as though anybody had put a gun on them to do what they needed to do. What then makes you conclude assertively that they will "release him this night".

They didn't have to spend one month looking for him either, but they did.

CrimeRe: I Want To Visit A Childhood Friend In Prison. Any Tips? by xangerar: 6:39am On Jun 08, 2023
Lilfemzie:
Most of the people up there asking you not to visit him have never visited anyone in prison, they're just talking from hearsays. Go ahead and visit him. @xangerar has already said everything you need to know about prison visits. Trust me after this visit, you'll be tempted to always visit prisons or better still send a hand to those locked up behind bars every now and then...not necessarily your friend alone...I been there before...when I'm eventually stable, charity towards prisoners is one thing I want to do sooo baddd
You are so correct. You will be tempted to want to return on visits after the first. It feels in a way that is helpful for a humane understanding of life.

CrimeRe: I Want To Visit A Childhood Friend In Prison. Any Tips? by xangerar: 10:30am On Jun 06, 2023
It is not a big deal, so do not fret. Just do it. Have a little money in the pocket with you though. Depending on the prison where he is, the warders at the entrance and maybe warders who may have shown him some favour may expect you to "shake body" for them. Other inmates may hail you too and you may want to leave a thing behind. It is a community and as you do in his name, he too will reap when other inmates have their own visitors.

It is a solitary place and I consider that one of what those inmates require are those visits, otherwise they feel even among their colleagues as orphans who no one seek out for from time to time. Just last week, I rebuked the wife of one of my clients for not visiting her husband since he went in. It was the man who told me his wife had stayed away and how that has made him look different from others whose wives and relatives visit usually.

Also know that in this state, your friend is most likely to hear your words of wisdom than when he is out, assuming he does. It is a time of quiet, when those who love, may easily mend the minds of their loved ones.

He didn't explain why local production won't reduce fuel price , if you're producing in Nigeria, will there still be a landing cost ?

Nigeria government is never straight forward in dealing with its citizens.

Na still corruption be this anyways.
You can imagine! I was wondering alike. How can you say that a product made in Lagos and another that travelled over continents with attendant shipping cost would still be the same price and there are no extraneous reasons for that? Even when you order on Jumia shipping and delivery cost makes a difference. This there economics ee!
