tensazangetsu20: They dont allow any seeds. They believe it will corrupt their own agriculture. They take their agricultural sector very very seriously.
Indeed @tensa
They do have a point because some phyto diseases could be introduced into the food chain from imported seeds. This is the way the U.S. and the UK are very neurotic about bringing any uncertified foods into their countries, while they strive to look for new international markets for their own commodities. There is a lot of protectionism going on worldwide at the same time too.
tensazangetsu20: It's not easy bringing food into Chile. They are really strict. They threw away the beans I brought and there isn't a lot of Nigerians or Africans for that business to make sense.
They threw raw beans away?... So, they do have their own strict standards for bringing raw food into Chile. Wow!
tensazangetsu20: Internet infrastructure in Chile is very developed. Honestly if not for making calls you can live without getting a sim card. There's literally internet everywhere. From the airport to taxis to trains to buses to restaurants. Just putting up your wifi on any streets brings like 3 free wifi networks and this isn't even the capital city. The capital is Santiago and that's like 7 hours from here. Internet here is also very very fast. Screenshot is from the wifi at the Airbnb I am staying at.
That's what paying attention to little details does in terms of infrastructural delivery in any developing/developed country like Chile. The neatness of the city too is amazing.
This nostalgically reminds me of the pleasant surprise I got on my first ever visit to Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire (right in West Africa) by air in the late 1980s (enroute Accra airport). The Abidjan environment blew me away with the cleanliness and wide boulevards right from the airport to the prestigious Hotel d'Ivoire in the Cocody District where I stayed. There was strict respect for the law, zebra crossings, and traffic lights even at night!
tensazangetsu20: God has finally done it for me . 3 years worth of work came to fruition and I was able to japa to Chile . Sharing some pics from my trip and my everyday life on this thread. This is for those who think that south america is hell. Theres a lot of amazing countries in the world. You need to research and figure out what works for you. My flight was from Lagos to doha to Brazil and then finally to Chile. I didn't really start taking any pics until I got into Chile. I am sure you can find thousands of pictures about Brazil, Qatar or Lagos online but hardly anyone has posted anything about Chile.
The first pic is me In the plane crossing the Andes mountains. The light in the distance is the city of santiago.
Second is the airport in concepcion.
Third is my Uber ride from the airport to my Airbnb

Abuja is beautiful. Jabi lake is the place to be at weekends. But don't stay late if you can't fight off crime especially if you are a lady. Many has been kidnapped or raped. More is to be done on security at night in Abuja. May we not be unfortunate, amen.
You mean kidnappings and rapes occur around the serene Jabu lake area at night? Gotta keep that in mind if I ever visit that place.
But the police and Intelligence agencies are not doing enough to deploy spy drones to monitor strategic areas that have recorded unusual criminal activities.

9. Abuja has Area 1, 2, 3, no area 4, no area 5, no area 6 then Area 7, area 8, no area 9, then area 10, and area 11, Nah there e end, most fraudsters would send a novice that just came into Abuja to come for an interview in an existing address in Area where doesn't exist, like area 4 or 5, be wise.
10. If you ever gets missing, just find your way to wuse begger bridge or area 1 bridge, u can get a vehicle going anywhere in Abuja from there, even to Jericho self 😂

Listen to Kanu 's Endsars Broadcasts calling for the Slaughter of Security Agents and killing of Political leaders and their Families Even UK and US can never accept it
sylve11: Back in the days, if there's anything I love doing apart from academic works, football and farming, fishing is my thing.
One trick to get the fish running to your hook is, get a garri mixed with palm oil, then throw it at the spot where you have your hook in the water.
That's awesome... It's these simple yet refreshing hobbies that really matter in life.
So, the fish love garri and palm oil combo? That's fascinating indeed. You must be based on the Niger Delta region or one of the states located along the Nigerian coastlines.
Botragelad: What do these celestial folks do there and who are they?
From what I've read, they go to pray. White garment church folks like the Celestial members around the world usually go to the mountain tops, and beaches to pray and do some baptismal activities.
Pwettylinda: Most bakeries in Nigeria treat their breads like the one in photos below.
You won't know unless you enter inside. I think the ministry of health and the environmental health practitioners are not doing their jobs.
Let's be careful.
I'm shook by the scenes from the first picture.
Every stage of the bread baking process (from ingredients storage, gloves and baking attire, mixing, kneeding, oven baking, packaging) is supposed to come under proper "total quality control" with reference to hygiene. This is not about "heat will kill the germs in the bread dough."
The regulatory autorities must make it mandatory for all bakeries and restaurants to have CCTVs to monitor baking/cooking staff activities in the bakeries and kitchens!
I have seen candid CCTV images of some kitchen staff in the U.S. peeing in the kitchen sink (a male staff) or using bare hands to pick dough that dropped to the floor while kneeding. The White girl caught in the CCTV quickly looked around to make sure nobody was watching her and she just picked up the huge dough that earlier fell on the kitchen floor and flipped it right back into the rest of the dough she was mixing. The CCTV that was installed in the kitchen fortunately captured the whole scene and I'm sure she got fired!
swaqq: note that is no relaxation spot at Marwa beach, na cele people dey come here mostly. I only come here for fishing, if you want to come, I recommend that you don’t come alone. Although you can make friends with foreigners that are also there to catch fishes.
No relaxation spot? Interesting.
Yeah... You're right. Some Celestial church members also gave reviews on that Website about the beach.
Thanks for the great feedback here and the insightful thread.
In a world first, U.K. researchers have successfully grown barley crops autonomously using self-driving tractors and unmanned aerial vehicles.
The goal of this research project was to ascertain if hands-free farming was possible at this juncture in the world of autonomous machinery.
In order to ensure the project’s integrity, no one was allowed to enter the 1-hectare paddock, except for the autonomous vehicles. Ultimately, the venture was successful with crops autonomously seeded, sprayed, monitored, and harvested.
The researchers considers the success a sign of things to come such as a general shift in the agricultural industry regarding technology, in addition to potentially attracting a new generation to farming.
“We have been able to show the public that this is something that isn’t too far ahead in the future, and it could be happening now".
“It has also allowed us to raise the perception of agriculture to the public, so they see it as a forward-thinking industry and something that might attract new people to the industry.”
Regarding the UAV implementation here, the drones were exclusively used to monitor crops and retrieve samples which agronomists would analyze.
They were essentially the eyes of the researchers for assessing the field using a multi-spectral camera to get imagery from the field. They would then send a little ground rover that would collect samples to conduct agronomy on.
The drone’s autopilot was also used for machinery on the ground, automating the tractors and chaser bins.
Using Nigeria as an example ,do you think new technologies like this get people out of jobs or create new ones?
ultrarich: How I started my export business with zero capital My name is Bankole Kayode, the MD/CEO of Whales Energy Ventures, a registered company mainly for agro-allied export business since 2011. Some years ago i run a type setting business centre owned by my elder brother wife. During this period as a typist I typed a lot of document and opportune to see a lot of customers document. One day, while doing the normal typing, a customer worked in and gave me a document called proforma invoice and packing list which has the break down of charcoal export in thousands of dollars, I got curious but kept quiet. Some days latter, the customer worked in again and prepare another proforma invoice, because of my speed and accuracy the customer became regular, hence we got close. After some months of good relationship, I was able to ask him to teach me the business. To cut the long story short, he put me through the online platform to get client and he register me, after some more months I was able to nab my first client. NOTE: I HAVE NOT REGISTER ANY COMPANY AS AT THIS TIME. So I propose to the client I will be shipping the goods in partnership, meaning I wont have to use my company name which he agreed to. So I presented my to be partners details, including his bank details where the banking instrument called Letter of Credit (L.C) will be received. Unfortunately, my to be partner had serious crises few weeks after I submit his details to my client, so I got scared but fortunately for me, my client is trying to avoid L.C charges and every effort my client made to raise the L.C (Letter of Credit) proof abortive, then he suggested if he could pay me some advance then after completing the job, he will pay my balance, I immediately jump at it, then i had to start the process of registering a business name, then use my teacher export licence to export it. And that was the beginning of my export carrier since 2011. Till today i still have copy of the telex for the transfer to my personal domiciliary account that was opened to trade forex but ended up as the saving grace for the export business. I am open to your questions and comment. Thank you.

Persephone1: See boys asking where beach dey make them go hustle
Nigeria go better.
I just read some online reviews of that Marwa beach in Lekki which faces the Atlantic ocean. I never heard of the beach until today, and one of the online reviewers said his phone got stolen on the beach. A second online reviewer said some layabouts live on the beach and he said some sections of the beach have plastic wastes and more, meaning as of the time he posted a review, parts of the beach were not very neat.
For folks who are thinking of going to relax and get their skins caressed by the gentle Atlantic ocean breeze, or even to fish with hooks, lines, and sinkers, they have to be security conscious so they don't get mugged! Period.
To get a good sinker, get a condemned slippers, trimmed it to a size of TomTom sweet, use a blade to divide it but make sure the divided sides don't fall off. Tie the shaped stuff to the line of your hook. You're good to go.
That's quite innovative. I'm trying to picture what you stated in my mind's eye using slippers. You must be a real fishing enthusiast.
swaqq: it is a called a sinker (Note that this is a make-shift sinker). Its purpose is to make my fishing hook travel far whenever I cast my fishing line
A spark plug as a sinker at the end of a fishing line... That's fascinating.
holyfather: The question was raised on Quora.com and someone has this to say. I felt we should judge, how true?
Hmm Yes, I have been to many of those West African countries. The problem with countries like Ghana, Togo, Ivory coast etc is that they focused their development only on the capital cities.
Nigeria can still boast of development in comparison to her neighboring countries and west African countries.
If you go to Ivory coast the only top-notch city there is Abidjan, Partially Yamoussoukro.
Ghana focused its development only in Accra and partially cape coast and Eastern region.
Togo, its only Lome with a lovely beach. Every part of the country is still underdeveloped.
Benin republic development is majorly in Cotonou.
Liberia is only Monrovia
But Nigeria can still be proud of places like Abeokuta, Lagos, Ibadan, Port Harcourt, Kano, Kaduna,Abuja,Uyo,Calabar,Oshogbo etc
Abuja
Kano state
Countries like Niger, Burkina faso, Mali are still far from development.
Some people made suggestions that Senegal might be more developed than Nigeria. This is a point with no proof because I have never been there and I doubt it.
We can only measure a country development with the following methods:
Main development points: Employment Poverty Health Education Social Cohesion Safety and Security Good Governance
Aspects of Development that cannot be measured: Freedom Security Sustainability conservation.
Considering Nigeria population, I think it is rude to put Senegal on a race with Nigeria. Senegal population is barely 16 million approximately,Lagos state population alone is over 20 million and Nigeria as a country is approximately 180 million with huge land mass, different culture, beliefs and languages!
Senegal is only matured when it comes to politics and the same thing with Nigeria. The opinion that senegalese have better living standard than Nigerians is something I don’t want to agree.
You can comment for counter arguments!
This is the map of West Africa, I have visited many except few.Based on experience, you cannot compare Nigeria with any of the above listed countries.
