To have been able to build the many extensive tunnels in the midst of poverty in Gaza, these Hamas guys definitely had a lot of funding running into millions of USD from their Iranian (non-Arabs) and rich Arab sponsors from especially the oil-rich Gulf States.

If someone begs you for money for the first time, give.
Second time: Say no. Tell them you just finish paying school fees for your kids or your just sent your last card to your mum/dad or tell them about Nigeria situation that every where is hard and you are just managing.
You can even say your employers have refused to pay you salary.
Third time: Give
Fourth time: Say No again.
That way, when the person comes to you for help the fifth time, he would have conditioned his mind that it's a 50-50 chance.
You might give and you might not.
But if you give first time, second time, third time, fourth time, the person would have conditioned his mind that you have money and you will surely give.
If you don't give at that point, he will be angry and he will spoil your name and tag you a bad person.
Insightful.
Foreign Affairs › Re: Three Israeli Hostages Mistakenly Killed By IDF by XAUBulls: 8:06pm On Dec 17, 2023
rayornb:
The Israeli military have said they "mistakenly" killed three Israeli hostages after mistakenly identifying them as a threat.

An IDF spokesperson said: "During combat in Shejaiya, the IDF mistakenly identified three Israeli hostages as a threat. As a result, the troops fired toward them and they were killed.

"During searches and checks in the area in which the incident occurred, a suspicion arose over the identities of the deceased.

"Their bodies were transferred to Israeli territory for examination, after which it was confirmed that they were three Israeli hostages."

Two of the hostages have been identified as:

Yotam Haim, who was kidnapped from Kibbutz Kfar Aza on 7 October;
Samer Talalka, who was kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Am also on 7 October.
The family of the third hostage have been notified and requested his name not be broadcast, the IDF statement said.

"The IDF expresses deep remorse over the tragic incident and sends the families its heartfelt condolences.

"Our national mission is to locate the missing and return all the hostages home."

It emphasised that the area is an "active combat zone" and fighting has been ongoing over the last few days.

"Immediate lessons from the event have been learned, which have been passed on to all IDF troops in the field," the statement said.

Both Hamas and the Zionists are trash. Ideally, that region should be a "No go area" for black people.
Indeed, they are! It is only ignorant people like some of those you find on NL or on other online platforms who don't pay attention to little details or read historical materials extensively or belong to the younger generation that will be taking sides or abusing one another over the Israeli-Hamas War issue. The South African Blacks were indeed thrown under the bus by Israel with her support of the White Apartheid government in South Africa back in the day, so I can understand their resentment towards Israel today, but I would have preferred if they stayed off or kept a below-the-radar profile to see how things pan out.

Essentially Muslim Arabs have always referred to Black Africans folks with a racist slur called "abe*d" meaning "slaves" for many centuries now. Arabs have been very brutal throughout history and they hide under the doctrines of radical Islam to do these.

Even the Jews refer to others who defer from them in beliefs with a racist slur called "goyim" or "human cattle."

Because I have seen many videos on YouTube (from the devices worn by the Arab Hamas invaders of Southern Israel such as body cameras, head cameras), car dashboard cameras, mobile phones, and the CCTVs showing the live shootings and killings by these morally bankrupt Hamas criminals hiding under Islam, I have some emphathy for Israel because these criminals called Hamas deliberately killed and raped many Israelis and non-Israelis that they found in Southern Israel like the male Thai citizens and this young Tanzanian man.

sukkot:
So guys we need to understand that women are drawn to protectors and alpha and strong men. It is how they are wired.

Something happens to a Nigerian man when he gets abroad and the women notice it. The man gets emasculated by society.

He goes from being a strong figure of authority in Africa to an unwanted disrespected black man in the west.

Even a 17 year old white boy on the job can almost slap that 40 year old naija man on the job and he will be shaking and calling the 17 year old boy, Sir.

The man is emasculated by society. Goes from being an alpha dog in naija to a puppy in the west.

Our women sense these things and to a woman if you are not an alpha dog you are just useless.

You start emptying the trash and making breakfast and washing dishes now as the man. Jobs that you used to hire maids to do for you in naija.

Not only can a 17 year old white boy disrespect you on the job but you are now a dishwasher at home. You have no value in society.

Anywhere you turn up you are not celebrated but tolerated.

After a while the woman starts to see that this guy is truly worthless to me, why do I need to coexist with this emasculated societal reject ?

I am better off by myself and I can get a better job than him here as a nurse.

He has become a burden to me.

This is why most women chase their husbands away from home after they both relocate abroad
True that.

pansophist:
Location bros. Meeting foreigners is not hard, and if your plan is to meet whites, then do the following.

Travel to Gambia, or Cape Verde, and live there. As an Ecowas citizen, you dont need a visa to enter and establish residence in these countries. These two countries boast the highest numbers of western visitors in West Africa.

Then work in the tourist industry, maybe start selling blended juice in a popular tourist spot, or be teaching some afro dance like zumba, bachata or kizomba. Westerners love this very well, and it will put you in a position of authority since they will come to you.

Also, be fit. As in, your body fat should be less than 10%. You must be able to see your six packs. Attractive men do not toast or talk much, women will come, not most women for sure, but you need just one right?

For example, most flights entering Sal (Cape Verde) are from the west, only a few are from within Africa. And also, native Cape verdians for example are like Brazillians, or mulattos, due to centuries of ethnic mixing.

So native Cape verdians themselves are almost like whites, and they are your geographical neighbors. The world is very big, leave Nigerian and get lost somewhere. It will get hard as you grow older, and more responsibilities piles up.

So dont just wish for something, work towards it and fight to have the kind of life you want. That is why you are a man with tetesterone, and have legs not roots like a tree. Move.
Indeed.

Many Cape Verdians even migrated to the United States within the last 40 years. So, there's a significant Cape Verdian-American community in the U.S.

For Nigerians married or dating a foreigner with good intentions, not scamming, how did you meet him or her?

I always wanted biracial kids and a pretty Caucasian wife but I haven't been lucky finding someone from another race or country and I'm at that age(30s) where you have to get married like asap, tried social media and they all found it creepy, sometimes they read my text and don't reply, some block me instantly and to be honest I don't blame them due to our international reputation.

Don't talk about looks because I don't look bad and I have seen so many instances where those girls fall in love with guys that are nothing close to handsome, they're not like our naija babes, but getting one is the problem.

IbeOkehie:
Wow this is a very good and reasonably accurate Anti-Japa comment. Thanks a lot for putting it up.

I've lived in the USA for over 30 years. I've relocated back to Nigeria, re-migrated back to USA. I've observed children grow from birth to adulthood in both Nigeria and USA/UK, I've consorted with the poor and rich and I think I have a reasonable handle on the issues. To use the popular witticism, I've seen it all.

The major suppressing factor against wealth building for Nigerians living abroad is their financial commitments to Nigeria in general and their relatives in particular. The sad part of all this is that most people in Nigeria have a passionate hatred for any diasporan relative who is helping them. I've seen and experienced this personally over many years and generations. You can even get a sense of it on this Nairaland. You can smell the hatred and JEALOUSY. I could tell you some very terrible stories.

There was a close friend I once travelled with to Nigeria. He had $60K on his person, declared and everything. Ordinary worker, not involved in any fraud or crime. He got to Nigeria and gave the money to his brother who lives in Nigeria to hold, deposit or change to naira. Do you know that to this very moment I'm talking to you, he's not seen that money again. This was over 15 years ago. And that's not anywhere near the worst case I've personally witnessed.

There's a doctor that wanted to buy land, it was $70K. He saw the land and in the village, sometimes you go with your people to negotiate. Anyway, he paid and all that was left was the final ceremony called "iwa nnu", it may have different names among other Igbo clans. He went back to the USA and left his brother to do the rite.

When the day came, his brother told the seller the doctor was no longer interested. The seller returned the money and the doctor hasn't seen a dime of it till today. Me myself I couldn't actually believe the thing o, even till now. And the doctor, well he's a rich guy, he just laughs about it.

So my advice to diasporans, I preach it here to all the people in my social circle, is to leave Nigeria and Nigerians alone. At the most, build a small tiny house in the village or maybe the city if your (extended) family has no house at all. The ONLY time a diasporan should start putting money into Nigeria is when they have an annual income of at least $250K for a single person or $300K per family. Or have a net worth of over $500K.

The ONLY thing a diasporan should aim to do for relatives is to bring them to the USA or wherever they want to migrate to. Make it a priority, work on it desperately until it's done. Give them that credible choice to come and earn for themselves and if they feel Nigeria is better, good for them, that frees you from any dependency.

All those your claims of poverty for people abroad, well if that's what you feel that's fine. If Nigerians abroad are so poor, how do they remit $10 to $25 billion per year? Even the Nigerian Federal Government's total revenue in 2022 wasn't over $15 billion. That your uncle who spends enough money to transport 4 or 6 people to Nigeria, I hope he earns over $250K/yr? If he earns less, he's just foolish, not poor. I was once like him, so I kinda understand.

Right now it will cost him over $15K to make a holiday trip to Nigeria assuming one has to ship in a car and make other sundry preparations. Why not save that, add some more and put a down payment on a small house in America that can grow in value over time...instead of wasting it on a useless trip to go and spend dollars on jealous and hateful relatives in the village.

Anyway I've lived the reality and I know that Nigeria's title as the Poverty Capital of the World is well deserved.

Have a good day and Good Luck to Nigerians.
Well said!

There are near-similarities between your post and that of the other thread (that hit the front page) on the man who found himself in Nigeria after 30 years of combined stay in the UK and the U.S. A very uncanny sequence of events.

Hmmm... Thanks a lot. I appreciate.

Well..it's easy for me to narrate my stories with such clarity because the experiences were so traumatizing that they stayed in my head and haunted me for a very long time before I could get over it and not without the series of deliverance and prayer retreats I had to go for. So it's not something one can forget in years to come. It was too much for an innocent me.

It even got to a point one of the chairmans sons ( a matured man also working with us) called me and said " tell me the truth, is the Chairman disturbing you"? He asked because it was them the father first started sending to attack me ( before he sent me to his wife) just to frustrate me out of the job but I couldn't tell him.

It is well with us ladies.
@Jewessgratitud3,
My pleasure... Anytime.

Indeed... There are other strategies for dealing with these trauma situations such as psycho analysis where the professional gets to engage a person who has undergone mental and physical trauma in resolving those painful life episodes and it works extremely well!

With reference to your last paragraph, I believe you are referring to the Guinness experience. Using modern technologies, it should be easy for females who get sexually harassed to record these events discreetly in video and audio formats to serve as evidence to prosecute these randy dudes.

I was reading your other thread about pagers, fax machines and more, (which we indeed used as office devices in the 1990s right into the 2000s). So, tech has improved to the extent that we have more portable and sophisticated devices for recording and communication today! A strong female advocacy too is needed where all females can report sexual harassments and attempted rapes to specialized NGOs and even borrow portable recording devices if they cannot readily buy the devices. By the time the scandal and recorded audio and video evidence hits the mass media, the randy men will stop the harassments just like the situation we have on the U.S. or Canada. Even in Chile, a woman can report you to the police for staring at her suspiciously in public which they term as sexual harassment.

Jewessgratitud3:
As you already know.. yes you! I like to share my life's experiences any chance I get or as my heart leads. So you'll have to deal with yet another one. Now this, for me, has become a ritual cos It serves as an emotional cleansing and a way of relieving my chest of years of pent up feelings and resentments (towards men) that have built up over time from these ordeals hence the reason I'm alway sharing so if you know my stories always irritate or affect your sanity, please, at this point use the exit button but if you choose to constitute a nuisance by spewing rubbish as usual, then be my guest.

In my early years of working as a front desk personnel and secretary, the chairmen of the companies I worked in have always seen me as a sex object and all they want to do is get inbetween my innocent laps but thank God for wisdom and good home training that made me stand for what I believe in and resist them all. These were men in their 60s and 80s with grand children and all

It started with my first chairman in 2000. Then I was awaiting results. My dad would always advise us to get busy during this period of waiting so we don't just idle away or start joining joining other young girls to flirt with boys and that year my area was hot cos some OPP guys just returned from Yankee and parked themselves down to Ikoyi messing girls up and down my street. My dad wasn't going to take chances knowing he has six beautiful girl's to protect from these wolves. So you were either away in school or out working. That was how I found myself working at that tender age instead of resting at home like my mates while awaiting results.

I got a job as a front desk personnel in this company. Before I knew what was happening the chairman started calling me more often into his office. He would tell me to make tea for him. His secretary whose duty it was to make tea was there o. He'll leave her and buzz me downstairs with the intercom to come upstairs and make tea for him.
One day after serving him tea, he said I should come and help him check something on his PC. As I was checking the computer he started rubbing my back I quickly moved back and he was like... " You know I like you and I'm going to take care of you" bla bla bla... He started asking me what I use for my face that he'll be giving me money to buy it any time it finishes. I was dazed. Though I never went to him for anything but any time any of his children was having their wedding he'll order for the aso oke for me. He'll pay for my aso ebi. I remember he ordered for an Italian leather bag for me during one of the daughters wedding.
Me I'll just thank him and continue my job innocently.

One day he said I should be transferred to one of our branches at VI where one guy was and that the guy should come to Ikoyi. I got there and the following week this man landed. As I greeted him and turned to go to my seat, he tried to grab me but I was too fast for him. Then I told him, Sir I'm a Christian and he said "am I a devil? 👀👀. I said you're not but I can't do this. He tried to hug me again and I ran and stood in front of the glass door facing outside so people passing can see. He went into his office ( he was no longer using the VI office o he just came to do rubbish). After a few mins he left . That was the beginning of my problem.

This man started frustrating me. He would call the office landline ( then there was no GSM). blasting me that he's been calling the office but I didn't pick that I've gone to meet all my boyfriends in vi. Chai!... The next thing he'll say start coming to Ikoyi right now! I'll cry and cry.. if I get to Ikoyi, they'll say he just left. He continued until one day I was crying in the office and one elderly man who's office was opposite ours came in and saw me. I told him my boss is frustrating me he said I should not worry that they know him. This man told me to leave the job before he uses my star. He then told me to wait that he's coming. He went into his office and brought out huge amount of money and said my daughter take. Go and manage this until you get another job. I thanked him was ready to dump their work.

Something now happened. I got to the office and as i was opening the door, the phone was already ringing non-stop. Fax machine too was ringing. Na rush I use open door like mad girl cos I don know say this kind bad ringing na Chairman. I quickly picked up the receiver and it was him. He asked me if I received a fax from Japan, I checked, no facsimile. I said no. He then said it's because I didn't get to the office in time when the fax was ringing to speak with the Japanese man and to fix paper in the machine that was why I missed the message bla bla bla ( na lie o. Body dey pepper am.) He now told the manager to give me sack letter. I got to Ikoyi branch, took the letter and signed the photocopy.

He called the manager and was asking what was my attitude when I received the letter, that one said ko tie bother. He said "omo geh yen, o ti stubborn ju. They didn't know I was behind a partition hearing them. I just laughed and left after they climbed upstairs.
That was how I escaped that one.

Another one was in 2012. Then I was already through with my secretarial course and had worked in so many companies without issues until the bearish market that affected the Nigerian stock exchange and caused the finance and investment house I was working to fold up in 2008/9.
So in 2012, I got a job in Guinness and was attached to a Chairman of a unit there. Everything was working fine until a new MD came. A middle aged Man with wife and children.. He started disturbing me. This one uses force to ask me out. He just told me one day (after being friendly with me for a while) that he wants to go and give me a treat. I politely turned him down and the next thing this man shouted. Common Lock up and follow me. we got downstairs and I was heading to the gate, he said if you step out without me, you're fired. I'll be beg him that I don't want to go. This man will yell at me and order me to enter his car to take me out by force. If I refuse he'll be threatening me with sack. I'll just follow him for peace to rein. He'll spend and I'll eat and drink. It wasn't easy. I'll pray, cast and bind until one day, after leaving an eatery, he was going to drop me home when the back tyre of his new jeep got stuck in a big gutter. I say God catch you. He was now saying my ogbanje people don spoil his new jeep. He was lucky it happened in my area. So I went into one of my church elders house and begged him to give us jack or so, i can't remember now. He was able to pull it out sha.

The following week the chairman sacked him. He called me into his office and said he knew the MD was disturbing me, true or false.? I was like is that why you sacked him and he said, are you not happy? I just shrugged. The next minute baba too was toasting me. huh ! Men...

He started his own wahala. I was like.. I can't do this Sir. It's against my faith. This man began to tell me how he dated a young lady who came to buy beer and transformed her life. He said she got pregnant for him and he sent her abroad to deliver the baby bla bla... He said he's going to take care of me. Meanwhile, the other staff there told me he once dated his former secretary and impregnated her. She had two children for him and developed breath cancer, this man abandoned this lady in her mother's house and took his two sons from her. Till she died he never went near her again. They said he abandoned the first wife he married in his youth that had all his grownup sons that are now working in his private companies. The chairman even told me about his first love he met in Yankee when he was still a young boy had a son out of wedlock with her but after his education he left the boy and his mother and came back home to marry another woman. That his son was already an old man when he was telling me this but the guy looked so fresh because he's based there. He showed me his pics with his grand children. Me was wondering why he was telling me all these.

One Saturday, he called me and said I should send my house address that his driver was coming to pick me. He doesn't work on Saturdays o. So I sent the driver adress of a filling station near my bustop. He came and picked me. I got there and he asked me to sit down. He started talking rubbish again. This time he brought out bundle of cash and gave it to me. I rejected it. This man para. That why would I reject his gift? that for a man his age thats an insult. I should apologize. Na so I kneel down begin apologize. He now said I should stand up and take the money. I did. He stood up and left.

Another Saturday he came and wanted to smooch me. I screamed he now ran into his office. He came back and was asking me how old I was, I said I was 31 and he said he thought I was 25 . That I'm behaving like a baby. He now sat me down and played king Solomons message on his iPad saying it's not wrong for a Christian to marry many wives. He brought out his check book and dropped on the table asking me to name any amount and he would sign it and give me now now.. I was shaking ic I couldn't talk.

Later he told me the lady he told me about was coming. Under 3 mins a CRV drove into the compound and the lady entered with the two kids he had for the man. Immediately they entered I looked at the 4yr old boy, he was a carbon copy of this man. then the little boy shouted, youre beautiful! I like you.. I just looked at the chairman and he smiled wickedly. In my mind I said like father like son. E dey una blood. I bought then drinks and told baba that I was going he said no, come and sit with us ha! I sat down and the lady was looking at me with disdain. After a while when he saw I was no longer comfortable, he said I can go.

After that day, he started avoiding me. I was happy o. Then one day he said I will be working with the wife henceforth. That the wife needs a PA. I sensed he wanted to sack me and I remember asking him that hope he's not going to use this against me, he said no. I joined the wife. That one Margaret thatcher. Nothing I do was good enough. She would yell and talk thinking I'll shudder like the other girls, I'll just do my job and remain calm.

One day, he came and told me to follow him to the office. We got there and he said the wife said she doesn't need my services any longer. He now asked me to write a resignation letter. I said no, that since you're the one asking me to go, you should do a letter to that effect. He now said that will not be a good report in my record. So he called the accountant to prepare all my benefits and pay me off. I left with a heavy heart and told God this will be the last I'll ever work as a secretary in my life or work directly with a man and God heard and answered that prayer.

Young ladies are going through a lot. If you find yourself in this situation please don't give in. For what shall it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his own soul.
Jewessgratitude, I'm blown away by the mental clarity with which you wrote these vivid real life workplace encounters starting from 2000 till 2012.

It just hit me in the face as I read your post and immersed myself fully in it by imagining myself in your shoes (It could also have happened to my sister, daughter, female cousins, etc). I appreciate your candor in sharing this as it would help to keep folks in check.
Let me tell you something... (Since it seems you don't have any brother being that you are all 6 females in your fam), psychologically, most men are wired to respond to the beautiful things (like women, sleek cars, luxury houses, etc) they see near-instantly (and there's nothing wrong if a man makes his genuine romantic intentions known to a woman, with a consentual relationship kicking in.

On the other hand, you females are wired to use the right side (creative and imaginative side) of your brains more and THINK things through before acceding to get into a romantic relationship with a man. It's a gradual build up of desires).

Last but not least, I'm happy you learned major life-lessons from those workplace harassment experiences. In addition to what you're doing as a teacher, you could also become a certified life coach and engage in public speaking by sharing your life experiences so that the younger ones can learn and prepare themselves.

Take care... Talk to you later.
Ciao!

I don’t really understand some schools this days. My baby girl cleared all her subjects with distinction, all As and she was given 3rd position. She has been sobbing uncontrollably since yesterday. cry Yes, she was promised Christmas gifts and present if she takes first position in class this term.
I think she deserves the 1st position. I want to go to the school on Monday and appeal for result recheck. It can’t be!
I am not taking this o! My baby deserves 1st position with this result. cry cry
WTH! This is absolutely ridiculous! 15 out of 19 subjects taken by a Nigerian pupil? In the Nordic countries of Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and other non-Nordic countries where education is functional and practical, children are NOT overloaded with high number of subjects like this. They still end up performing better in terms of school grades. That's a complete waste of time and mental energy to subject kids to 15 subjects just for the school proprietors to show off IMHO.

Things were not like this many decades back when we were in primary school right up to. primary 6.

Second @OP, your girl did very well though, and she shouldn't be put under pressure to take the first position in her class. She should take a break and enjoy the holidays before resumption starts in January 2024!

Cheers.

😂 😂 😂 24 yrs old boy, instead of planning to go back to school na to embarrass yourself dey hungry you.

Let me advise you. That lady will not accept you number one, because of class. Her class is higher than yours and she'll be looking for someone with same or higher class not you who's just a school cert holder worse is you're even working in her office as a cleaner and errand boy.if you were working somewhere else, it would have been better.

Lastly, if you still love your job, just abort mission because it might take a bad turn and affect your job.

Please work on going back to school or at least learn a skill. Just develop yourself before talking about relationship.
Aha! The best advice on page one of this thread. wink

Indeed... a lot of career women are hypergamous, so, in the absence of subtle romantic attraction generated by the OP towards the older female banker, then he's gonna fail!

Even as a high school graduate, if he's able to engage in formal/informal self-development and generate sustainable income from his businesses and/investments, then he can still waltz into the female banker's life and get her to respect him because of his newfound confidence and inner game. Period.

“Any Nigerian can apply for a license to mine gold here in Zamfara. I have been here for 4 years mining gold, and I can’t even speak Hausa. And the people here love me and support our company”, Says James Udoji, an Igbo man with a thriving gold mining business in Zamfara state.

THIS IS A HOT SLAP IN THE FACE for all the IPOB idiots claiming Zamfara gold is for northerners alone.

A VERY HOT SLAP.
He definitely has a lot of security around him. The Zamfara gold mining axis is not for the faint-hearted without adequate personal security. Once you get kidnapped or picked up like a tiny snail by bandits, get ready to empty your bank accounts by paying huge ransoms.

Hope a more robust security architecture can bring back long-lasting security to the North West, North Central, and North East of Nigeria which from well-known mining data are very rich in precious solid minerals, and an emerging oil and gas sector which can be used for the benefit of all.

I'm certain that by the time you're through in Chile, you would have learned new ways of doing agribusiness especially using biotechnology which the nearby Brazil uses effectively for large scale food production in the crop and dairy sectors.
