Funny enough we call ourselves Christians but we know nothing about the meaning. We think that the Bible is meant for Christians alone forgetting that the old testament belongs to Judaism and not a Christian book. Oh yeah Abraham, Moses David, Solomon and the rest of them in the old Testament were not Christians. Yes they were never Christians. Christ is the way the truth and the life, you can only be a true Christian by following his footsteps. Christ never paid tithe but paid tax, his disciples never paid or collected tithe. No of the Apostles nor any of the early church paid nor collected tithe but suddenly tithe has become the yardstick for measuring Christianity!? Well if that be the case Christ and all his disciples, the early church will have a big query to answer?

In all the tithing verse, perhaps you have not notice that certain people are often mentioned there "Levites" now who are the levites? Ain't they people dedicated to serve in the place of worship of God? Hence, the Pastors and alter servers...

Nevertheless the the book of Matthew 23 vs 23/and Luke 11 vs 42 made a clarification about tithing.. Now understand that when you pay tithe and you could not help that poorest man in your area or that needy or hungry man, you are not doing it right... The point here is that you cannot neglect one for the other...

Why did Jesus said He haven't come to abolish the law?

Now, Jesus wasn't preaching to them like others and they were surprised, so they were thinking He has come to abolish their laws and traditions. They thought He brought something new entirely different from the scripture (old testament) which they already knew, then Jesus said to them in the book of Matthew 5:17

"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

Jesus also told them this.

Mathew 5 vs 20
"20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven."

It's obvious, Jesus made them understand that obeying the law cannot take them to heaven in verse 20 ☺.

Jesus broke the law in the book of Mark 2:24 and they were all calling for his head. It was because of the laws He broke and his teachings that made them choose a thief over Jesus.

Do not allow anyone impose the laws in old testament on you. Read what Paul said.

Romans 6:14

14 For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.

Now, see why old testament laws shouldn't be practice by Christians.

Read Galatians 3 vs 15 - 29

Be a true Christian not a Christian who practice Judaism.

Malachi 3:10 answers it all. It says all the full tight should be taken to the house of the Lord. You can give your sister money, gifts etc but ur full tithe is not negotiable

Malachi 3:8-10 is not talking to the Israelites, rather the Levites who are suppose to give God 10% of the total tithe they collected from the Israelites. Read from Malachi 2:1 to see that God was talking to the Levites not the Israelites.

Numbers 18: 25-29
25 The Lord said to Moses, 26 “Speak to the Levites and say to them: ‘When you receive from the Israelites the tithe I give you as your inheritance, you must present a tenth of that tithe as the Lord’s offering. 27 Your offering will be reckoned to you as grain from the threshing floor or juice from the winepress. 28 In this way you also will present an offering to the Lord from all the tithes you receive from the Israelites. From these tithes you must give the Lord’s portion to Aaron the priest. 29 You must present as the Lord’s portion the best and holiest part of everything given to you.’

What Numbers 18-25-29 is saying is simple, when the Levites (ushers, cleaners and others who belong to a service unit) receive the tithes from Israelites, they are to take out 10% of the tithe the Israelites brought and give it to the priest while they share the remaining 90% among themselves. That's to say, no Pastor or Priest is to collect 10% from the people, what belongs to them is just 10% of the total tithe, while the 90% goes to choir members, ushers, cleaners etc who work in the temple or church.

Malachi 3:8-10 is reminding the Levites what they are to do as stated in the book of Numbers 18-25-29.



There are conditions you MUST meet before you can be qualified to collect tithe.

Note: These are not my conditions, they are Yahuah's (God of Israel) STRICT conditions.

1) You must be a descendant of Jacob’s son Levi. That's to say, your lineage must be pointing to Levi who is the son of Jacob. You must have the blood of Levi flowing through your veins.

2) You must not have inheritance.

3) You must not work, all your work must be in the temple.

Numbers 18: 21-24
21 “I give to the Levites all the tithes in Israel as their inheritance in return for the work they do while serving at the tent of meeting. 22 From now on the Israelites must not go near the tent of meeting, or they will bear the consequences of their sin and will die. 23 It is the Levites who are to do the work at the tent of meeting and bear the responsibility for any offenses they commit against it. This is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come. They will receive no inheritance among the Israelites. 24 Instead, I give to the Levites as their inheritance the tithes that the Israelites present as an offering to the Lord. That is why I said concerning them: ‘They will have no inheritance among the Israelites.’”

If you must pay tithe even though you're not an Israelite under the law, you have to go look for any descendant of Jacob’s son Levi and pay otherwise, you're not giving it to the right person as God commanded.

If you must do what Abraham did, be ready to return 90% to where you got it from. Yeah! Return the 90% of your salary to your employer. Abraham returned his own, so shall you.

Genesis 14:21-23
21 The king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give me the people and keep the goods for yourself.”

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

You are free to give 10%, 50% even 100% to the kingdom but, NEVER you call it tithe or first fruit because Christians have no business with the mosaic laws.

If you decide to pay tithe or first fruit, you automatically exempt yourself from the finished work of Christ. The moment you pay tithe or first fruit, you removed yourself from grace and moved to the law which is now weak and useless (Hebrews 7:18-19), and a shadow of things to come (Colossians 2:17), the things are the coming, death and resurrection of Christ.

I'm a medical student, and gf ( not sure what to call her now) is in MLS. We are both in same level (500l).

It all started in 2015, when we gained admission into the University. We began to read together and subsequently I started teaching her. Later on, she made me to read and susummarize her course topics (which I did for up to her 300 level) for her as she usually found it difficult to read with textbooks and understand the contents.

Months before my 2nd MBBS examinations, I began to notice changes in her attitude and behaviour towards me, up to the point that she told me that if I did not pass that examinations that, she will forget about me. But as God may have it, I passed successfully.

Financially, it started right in year one as I celebrated her and her mummy's Christmas from my own pocket. It got to a point that I usually give her her money almost every day (for up to 5yrs) Whenever, I'm traveling in any of our vacations, I usually give money for upkeep until I'm back.

In 300l, I bought her gift worth almost 30k and also celebrated her birthday which she demanded I get her 'point and kill cat fish' that cost 9k.

I usually pay for her textbooks and seminar work as we are all in medical school, I really do a lot for her, as she always told me she would never leave me right from yr 1 to 500l after which she started telling me, their people from Anambra will not let her marry people from Ebonyi State.

She's has known this for all her life, but decided to bring it up just now, when I'm beginning my marriage plans with her, She's started giving me unnecessary excuses in one form or the other.

Before, she travelled (this is just before the lock down) as she was complaining that she does not have any money on her to eat and she want to go and learn how to plait hair which will cost her #8,000, I gave her #16,000. The next day after collecting the money, she told me that she received a call from her mother that she must come back to her State and she travelled with that money without learning anything.

Yesterday by 8:24pm, I called her to tell me the outcome of her mother's discussion with her. She told me that her mother insisted that she cannot marry an Ebonyi man, and she cannot go outside her mother's decision.

In conclusion, she told me that she cannot marry me.

Well, as expected, I'm bracing myself up for insults, (I really don't mind this right now) but amidst the insults, pls advice a brother who's fighting emotionally.
