Fashion / Re: Why Do Models Never Smile On The Runway? by zenatta: 2:27pm On Jul 10, 2009
its not really about the face, with bodies to kill for, who needs the face, certainly not the designers who seek out unique bodies of (goddesses) to show off their creations.

@spikedcylinder

how refreshing your view is.
@ post
As long as you fix your meals with vegetables, leafy and otherwise, one tends not to miss some very unhealthy food choices. PO should not be and end all. Spices also help when one has to forgo a food type. Its all in the taste bud and one's  level of conciousness- the choice b/w healthy and unhealthy food.
but I am uncomfortable when I label PO as unhealthy because I know it is one of the major source of tocotrienols.
For those who do not have dietary rules, I have heard a doctor on Tv say it is ok  to add about five cloves of garlic for when PO is used to even out the cholesterol content and I do just that and more, ginger and basil .
@shesi
thank you so much for that banga cream/paste idea. I have wondered if I could that with other seeds when cooking. But is it not calorie-laden as most African foods?
Properties / Re: What Is The Best Way To Build A House? by zenatta: 3:56pm On Jul 09, 2009
There is really no easy way to it. You cannot help being cheated cos builders and artisans are cold blooded. However you can reduce the level of fraudulent actions if you secretly involve yourself in the purchase of materials by doing your home-work. Never believe the prices they quote, they are not kind, never take their word as law for the authenticity of materials purchased or you would end up replacing many items in less than a year of residence. And goodness! never leave them on their own, uninspected.

I have been blessed by reading the post of Dipuu2life. Good way to go. In my own case, I got a consultant for the manager handling my project. With this spanner in the works, in the end, I became the wiser one, saving myself headache and loads of money.
Romance / Re: Am I Wasting My Beauty And Youth? by zenatta: 3:27pm On Jul 09, 2009
You must have been hurt to sound the way you do. Now you are blase and jaded about it all. So far so good but if I can read between your lines I suspect a little nostalgia. The reason why you have this is because you feel guilty about wallowing in the aftermath of your experience. Stop the guilt feeling and stop being lethargic, I would softly say to you. You would only end up being depressed and shall I say, bitter. Its ok to run off to a corner to lick your wounds but dangerous if you do not date your hibernation. With no proper check, it could go on and on, for years and years and then, you would have wasted your youth and beauty. Time the period you want to heal. Do just that and get back into the land of the living
I contribute to this post cos years ago I ran away to lick my wounds. It was enormous, collosally masive, and my parents had passed away. I was alone in my sorrow and I wallowed. More than a decade later I am still wallowing cos I had become housebound, listless, careless and hughly depressed.

Please shake it off.
Do not write men off, never. They are not all that bad, really.
Fashion / Re: ~Confessions Of A Shoe Manic ~ by zenatta: 1:13pm On Jul 09, 2009
Common sense had whispered to me to keep off this thread but that was all it was, a whisper. i kinna knew I'd spend a while here.
Now am battling with greed, the greed to make all I have seen mine. I have been well behaved for months but suddenly I feel the urge to shop for shoes. So grateful I no longer have 100% control over my check book: never knew there will be a plus side to this.

A shoe LovePeddler; new lingo to me but its apt, no?

shoes are not just accesories, no. A bangle maybe, a headband may be but not shoes. The shoe is the main item, the focus,  the searchlight,it makes or mars the wearer, it best describes the wearer, the  light that tells you so much about who you are. In my normal walk of life, I am almost timid but my shoes shout show-off show-off. Nothing timid about my shoes and nothing timid about the real me, the deep-down me. I love dressing up so my clothes are not bad but my shoes are in a class of their own, eclectic. There is a passion somewhere and its wearing holes in my pocket.

Food / Re: Caution: Battery Found In A Bottle Of Popular Soft Drink! by zenatta: 12:01am On Jul 09, 2009
Thank you for capturing this for all to see. The bottle was probably not cleaned or checked before refill. This recklessness triggers a chill in me. Was drinking a glass of coca-cola as I was reading this. Naturally an epiphany has occurred after this information. Once again thank you. I will never take a dark drink for granted again

Your digestive tract is a second brain, not only does it look like a brain but it has a concentrated amount of nerve cells(both sympathetic and parasympathetic) just like the brain. And 80% of your immune cells are in your digestive tract. Apart from genetic diseases, almost every other dis-ease begin in the digestive tract. The brain(pineal gland) and digestive tract are the abode of the soul.
this kind of talk is a major turn on. eat only what is valid.

Your digestive tract is your bodies sewer system. If it gets clogged up and gluey due to excess decaying animal produce, the sewer will begin to leak into your blood stream as the villi cells that line the intestinal surface transport all sorts of toxins from the decaying animal produce
food for thought no pun intended. makes you wonder if all that food and sugar is worth it after-all
@Marlbron

Your body becomes a fit place for the Holy Spirit to dwell. On a physical level your health situation improves dramatically. You are younger and fresher. Ageing is slowed. A 50+year vegan will look 30+year, to give you a prspective
The toilet thing is true. If you keep fish or meat outside for a few days, the get rotten and infested with maggots. They give out nasty odour. Go figure. That happens in your alimentary canal with meat and fish. Your sh*t as a  non-vegan is filled with odour. For a practising vegan it is odourless. When a veagn dies, his body can stay longer without decomposing!
well said, an article after my own heart. One does feel better when the system is not clogged. Way to go!

I wish you could join hands with some one in your profile so that both of you would come out with something great. I am a seeker too. Good luck in your search. Don't give up though or like me start spending the money

My heart goes out to you.

There may be a reason y you have the attacks at night. Apart from physiological problems, you have to contend with dust; rugs and ceiling fans are large distributors, windows have to be dust free. Diet and maybe execise; I remember my mother complained of the effects of a heavy dinner. Can you have a loved one beside you during your bedtime to reassure you and to keep you company. Banish fear from you. Wear protective clothing too, no need to let fashion dictate to you. Please read up on Asthma. Refuse to be ignorant about it.
As regards franol, have you spoken to your doctor about a favorable change. I'm surprised you did not mention your doctor.
I am not a doctor but love and live with someone who had asthma
Food / Re: What Can I Use To Replace Palm Oil In Soups? by zenatta: 10:47am On Jul 07, 2009
There are soups that do not need oil. Groundnut soup does not. I have never made cassava leaf, it may also not need oil but pls boil cassava up to required time. Ask your Cross River friend; I hear there is a delicacy they make that does not require PO. I eat pepper soups alot cos of the non oil thing, not even a drop of Olive oil.

Cassava leaf and fufu
abeg o its am here in Nigeria. I will, I must lose weight so I keep away from cassava leaf.

@topic
was just discussing with my friend. she is Togolese. I mention her country to butress my suggestion. According to her, indigenes cook with all kinds of oil yuk! (1) Palm kernel oil (might not be the same since its not pressed, don't know, won't like). There are two types of this, a whitish one and the dark one. (2) Coconut oil, mind you, this is worse than PO in saturated fat
How about the cream you get from banga. Will it be bad for him.

I have seen the pic. will let you know what I think,

@larez I was wondering when someone was going to talk security. I will not keep you up

@seanT21, its a deep feeling to finally see a house you contemplated in your head, on paper pop into reality, Do you think you would seriously follow in your dads footstep. Home building to me covers it all. sleep well
Nairaland / General / Re: Fight to Finish: Sienna V Coolface89 by zenatta: 12:24am On Jul 07, 2009
Larez you are home. I struck gold then. I hope you have your portofolio. Told you I will own Citiline, No I am not logged off yet but may have to call it a day.Besides I need to eat but it late now. Both of you got me so fired up. I think we can do this.

@pinkequity. We can do this. There will be so much to deter us but I am hanging unto the skill  on one hand and contributions
that we are so passionately going to bring into this, I have to attend to other things now. My email is zenattarowlandbenij@yahoo.com .

Both of you remain blessed It was beautiful meeting you.

I have an advantage over both of you, I live here. I know the heartbeat of people around here. We want grand, big fat. If I can deduce correctly you mean to give it to them. It does not end there. We need money. and we need to be acquaintanced with some people. This is where I may be able to help. Larez I know you are roaring to go.And so is coolfaced8 but how long ago have both of you been home . there is only one set of people you can sell such homes to. \

Pinkequity I believe there is a product, I believe in the product. I feel you can be fierce, fiesty but Nigeria is frustrating.Goodness I hate to say this.
so we need seriously to do groundwork
Nairaland / General / Re: Fight to Finish: Sienna V Coolface89 by zenatta: 11:01pm On Jul 06, 2009
You included the designs, how cool.

Seriously these houses are grand. The people you have in mind may not play ball cos most already own their homes. If you do the marina  subdivision thing, will you be renting as an outright sale may be out of the question, Where will you get the money for such a project. Seems hugh.

ah ha I see coolfaced8 is here. I have been holding fort take over now. Sorry you were banned. Glad you are back. I tot  I loved homes until I met you and Larez, i doff my hat
Nairaland / General / Re: Fight to Finish: Sienna V Coolface89 by zenatta: 10:36pm On Jul 06, 2009
Did I read you say we? Remember coolfaced8 started all this and where is she

The columns in Heritage is just my point. How would you include it in Citiline
The owner ran away? I won't, I'm stoical

You want to build homes and jetties back here. Bring it on
Nairaland / General / Re: Fight to Finish: Sienna V Coolface89 by zenatta: 10:30pm On Jul 06, 2009
I love that these houses have a clinical entrance. Have nothing against landscapping(is that the name ).Actually I'm a roses person but can I have the roses and the clinical entrance. What would the layout be

Still can't get over Citiline. How many wings does this house have and two chimneys? What is the many-arc design called
Nairaland / General / Re: Fight to Finish: Sienna V Coolface89 by zenatta: 9:57pm On Jul 06, 2009
in hushed tones, CITILINE AND BLAUM.
I'm jealous, YOU CREATED SOMETHING

I will blissfully be lost in the balcony of Citiline. I would frustrate my visitors in its patio, veranda (what do you call it). I will , I will own Citiline. Enamoured by it already
You wont cow me like you did Coolfaced8. I will own Citiline

You are very talented.
My hat is off my head!
Nairaland / General / Re: Fight to Finish: Sienna V Coolface89 by zenatta: 9:38pm On Jul 06, 2009
@ larez dont finish me pls. I live alone wit my daughter and no doctor nearby
Are these homes. no! wow! omg! really is what I can mumble and I am not usually an omg person. Give me time to look at the homes then I will post. MY hands are shaking .where is coolface8
Nairaland / General / Re: Fight to Finish: Sienna V Coolface89 by zenatta: 9:32pm On Jul 06, 2009
@ larez,  one does get burnt-out and blase about it all. But turn the corner and you see what would revive you.

@poster; do not be threathened and scurry away. A home is not built in a day. A bit of this today, an addition of a wing tomorrow and a tearing down of that great pop. pllar in the living room cos its actually leaning like the tower of Pisa.
Get the land to build on  first. That in my opinion is the greatest hurdle out here. Location does matter but I'd rather live my dream(home) than be the Queens neighbour.Do not fear. You can build the home you want, really. Get it recreated on paper (spare nothing), then find out how much you would need shorterm and longterm. Apart from the land, three-million Nigerian naira would go a longer way, longer than you know.
I am not an expert but I am very streetwise about building.
Nairaland / General / Re: Fight to Finish: Sienna V Coolface89 by zenatta: 9:08pm On Jul 06, 2009
will keep you posted as to the names of the NHM. Must confess I most only watch if beautiful homes are involved. But I remember one vividly The Mayors, it starred RMD and Dede. Plot was also great. This house had columns to die for and it had a basement that was wow.
The movie Hush starring Gwyneth Paltrow is  a study in columns.
Do you watch Indian movies. Homes are palatial and almost surreal.

I love larez' creations, I call them creations cos their aesthetic value is ever-lasting. Emerald is more me, rolling arces and hallowed solitude. I am a castle kinna gal. yards and yards of un-ending space. Chrysanthemum is my next choice cos of the elevation. Glad to learn the word.
would rather the driveway of the first house you posted, be a side one like the second. here I go with those advices

Religion / Re: Psalm 110:1 by zenatta: 6:56pm On Jul 06, 2009
the Lord bless his word,

There is really no absurdity. David wrote the psalm. Jesus is being proclaimed here as the Messiah who came to save and to reign. This verse depicts Jesus' destruction of and victory over the wicked. David's two Lords are God speaking to His son Jesus Christ.
Food / Re: What Can I Use To Replace Palm Oil In Soups? by zenatta: 6:42pm On Jul 06, 2009
Truth is nothing can replace palm oil. some foods are like that. But how about doing away with it totally. I have been knwn to make some soups without PO. It all started when one day I mistakenly picked up what I thought was veg oil to cook my stew. It was days later I realised my mistake, pot of stew had been eaten and appreciated

The soup without PO will definitely not taste the same but it'd grow on you.
It all has to do with our taste buds, which can be trained
