Happy birthday Nairaland.
May God give you many happy returns of this day cos this is where so many converge to let off steam.
I have laughed so much in this forum. I have often come here to verify cnn, nay, to share opinion on news and events, to learn new things and to be a better cook.
Seun congratulations. In so many ways you are like Big Brother, Invisible but Invincible. You've done well.
Let's have a mask party wearing name tags in a huge venue.

Patience Ozokwor dressed old and she is such a lovely woman. Those shoes are unacceptable.
Maybe the event caught them unawares. Maybe they didn't have enough time to shop.
Men, stop stuffing paraphernelia in your trouser pockets, it creates a bad silhouette. Please do not ask me where you will keep your phones.
I loved the winner of the trailblazer award. Her innocence was palpable. I know next time she'd wear a better outfit.
And that South African, ( Supporting Actor Nominee, Thomas Gumede, Otelo Burning, Sara Blecher's entourage), whose outburst about his people's xenophobia said much, I have two words for you- bless you. You made the day of Nairalanders
Uti, Uti, Uti, the only time I cherished your KnowItAll swag was that day during BB when you won. You and Karen both, ought to know the competition is over. You are bonafide winners but its time to get over yourselves. Uti, you were horrifically overdressed. You look absolute in simple and innocence. Karen, stop giving the crown of your stardom to your boobs. You deserve to wear the crown, y'know the chicken before the egg.

sweetcheecks:

I do not who the woman's name is on your selected picture but she is the only woman dressed as a celebrity all the others need to fire their designers, their dresses are awful, does not suit their structures. Others look like men in dresses other are big and structureless. Stop home made gowns for public appearences oo and get renowned local designers to dress you for such events! undecided

Wow and again Wow

Richtalk:
Rita Dominic was my best dressed

You may have a franchise on that, but then, look closely; the fabric was a low quality of the original, it was badly sewn; bad finishing, the style gobbled her up and the neck ornament severed her neck. However, she made the best of a bad situation and I love her for that especially when she presented the award to Appiah.
Appiah's dress was rude, because it was ill-timed, just like the dancers with Inyanya. Banky W was class as was T. Savage's, they were occasion perfect. Appiah should have known better, she should have dressed for an African Formal Night not a Hollywood shenanigan. Another place, that gown would have been adorable. I loved it and the hair was so me but not for that event.
Osas was amazing until she made that crude play on words. For goodness sake African Elders were present.
Poor, poor, Jim Iyke. Whatever possessed him. I know where he was coming from but it failed woefully. My heart went out to him especially as Biola maliciously took over as if the event was to showcase her. I love Jim and I know it'd be so easy to hate whatshername but I won't let it.
I loved the duo of Stephanie and Majed. Those two! Banter was perfect as they were picture-perfect.
How could someone decide to dress down to a red carpet event even if they were Zeus and Aphrodite. How can someone get so high-falluted that they don't review the night before, the outfit to be worn in a function like the Red Carpet in Africa. Genevieve was a disaster and she knew it, just like Jim Iyke knew. Never take anything for granted.
Omotola may have thought she was safe dressed in black - well she did a sane thing. Omosexy do something about your backside. Its so dated and would be vulgar soon, if you don't employ a trainer who truly knows his onions about bum reduction exercises that would not affect other parts of the body.
You guys were great. I love you all.

Boss13: This woman (omowunmi) is very smart. I noticed how she was manipulating an architect (larez) and using two monikers (zenatta and coolface). I also observed when larez requested they use YIM, she claimed she was given an assignment (red flag). Her building project would have been the madoff of them all. While victims would be crying for their loss, she would be smiling to the bank. Wickedness in its purest form. She needs to be caught or she would be back again to prey on innocent victims. I also believe she is not working alone. I would like to advise the forum members, if a product is ridiculously cheap, please don't buy. If a seller request for advance payment before delivery, please don't pay.

Hey, just noticed this. Zenatta and Coolface are two different people. I was participating on that thread.
Religion / Re: Funny Stories Pastors Tell In Church by zenatta: 11:29pm On Mar 06, 2013
@Post
Yes they tell stories, albeit, funny. I heard this one told by a Pastor. He said, on a sweltering afternoon, you enter the coolness of your room, open the refrigerator to drink cold water but what is sitting in the fridge is a bottle of acid. Do you drink the acid cos you are so thirsty?
This story was a LWKMD, first grade, hot from the grid and it helped in reforming me because you see, as the Pastor continued his story, he revealed the bottle of acid could be likened to SIN.

More stories told by Pastors and Priests please.
Thanks for posting this Pastor's 'story', it has reformative powers.

Omoni's look is classic, the upswept hair, gloves, lbd and rows of pearls. She looks amazing. I'd rather the pearls were less colourful and the hair stylist paid more attention to detail. On the whole, she looks glam.

Hezron Lorraine: note that Jesus Christ never for once uttered crude or rude words to the pharisees, saducces, teachers of laws of moses, though their message and person was unacceptable to him.

He must have been refering to all the reptiles in the enclaves when He said "You Brood of Vipers"

My goodness, He couldn't stand those people and never minced words when He was on their case.

Business / Re: Which Of The Nigerian Banks Is More Reliable? by zenatta: 6:55pm On Mar 02, 2013
One sweltering afternoon, I walked into a banking hall and fell in love. For a minute I thought I was in some sophisticated civilisation. From its exquisite customer service, professional financial advice, to its gorgeous surrounding, STANBIC IBTC oozed class and efficiency. Nothing to do but, to maintain the account that had previously been opened for me.
First Bank is R E L I A B L E. You can rest-assured that any deposit with them is safe. This is the bank I use for my business account. And going by the annoying, and most-inconvenient mammoth crowd, I am not alone in this finding.
I have a soft spot for GT. They haven't failed me especially in the area of ebanking which is amazing and very convenient.
Read this thread carefully and go for your conviction; happy banking experience

Okay, after this I will go to sleep.

Consider pooling resources together with trust-worthy, like- minded people, to buy a property if worry for high cost of land is the plague.
Being the Smart person that I am *winks*, I got some friends together to buy a property I'd never have been able to afford in a locality I'd only have dreamt of. I made the least contribution so had to wait years before earning returns on my investment but it was worth it.

aasog1:
a plot within is selling for 30k, and the one at the road side is selling for 35k.
I have seen many people make a life changing property investment, and with the way Lagos and Ogun states are headed, it will be an upward spiral till the foreseeable future.
You just need to know the experts, and buy properties with vertical integration features, and your on your way (i.e. properties infront of an express, or one infront of a road that links with an express...such properties have many uses: can be used for shops, warehouses, and can be sold with ease....and many more benefits).....
With great professionals, you can make an investment in real estate that could change your life forever

The strategic placement of a property is what determines its yield. Corner-pieces are excellent income-raking ventures. Apart from residential purposes, when used as commercial interests, they team up well with schools, markets and bustops as neighbours.

Lagos with its dense population is a Real-Estate gold-mine.

Noticed Topic is five years old, then again, its a Real Estate thread.

I'd choose Real Estate over Stocks. In 07, My bank Manager convinced me to buy shares. I did unwillingly. One day I found myself in an office, shedding uncontrollable tears, cos, I had come to sell my shares at a loss. Ok maybe I wasn't shares-savvy but I lost a great deal.

I've always been a participant of Real Estate matters, at a time, passively and later actively. It may be a long-term investment but it sure beats the vicissitudes of Stock Market, its crashes, its restlessness and instabilities.
In Real Estate, I used to offer retail services, that is, renting to individuals but now I am looking into mass-renting. MacDonalds or so, once said they were not only involved in the business of providing food and snacks but also in Real Estate.

Thank you so much for link and info. Heard this news but refused to confirm it. Now you have.

I was planning to go 'soy' but keep putting it off cos of its complexities.

How would the world have been wrongly informed about Soya. For a very long time, it was the miracle food and held its place. Tofu is so popular. I even learned to make it and was going to learn to make Soymilk. We were advised to add spoonfuls of ground soya into baby's cereal. Phew!!!
I use Soy Sauce though, glad to read its not in the list of the baddies.
Thank you.

Jarus: Ordinarily as an oil and gas sector worker in Nigeria, some people feel too big to enter public transportation, so much so that very many people find it unimaginable that some of enter public transportation.

Public transportation in the Nigerian City I live in, is a contraption for the less-than-human, the forgotten Ones. They show the level human beings in Nigeria, have sunk since the advent of horrible, horrific, horrid Rulers.

Investment / Re: Tips On Saving For Investment by zenatta: 7:41pm On Feb 26, 2013
Wonderful, life-changing/life-saving tips, if you ask me, but who's gonna listen to you; definitely not me.

I'm probably not a good authority to comment on this thread; I will buy new, expensive phone, car or any thing for the matter. I love brands, to the hilt, down, to my detergent. I have ATM cards for when I need large amounts; can't stand banking halls or the stir I have inadvertently caused. It has to be DSTV premium or nothing.
I'm probably a good example of how not to...

Yes, in the past, there has been moments serenaded by nothing, like in, nada, y'know, rock bottom. But they were just moments and I have learned to put first things first. That alone is epiphanic.

In all this however, I have a Saving Grace, that always hoists me far above my imagination, for which I am deeply grateful for - so no one should listen to me.

I am a hard-worker too. I should be, considering 'my handicap'. Wealth-creation is my favourite pastime: it should be or I will sink.

Thanks for the tips, once again.
