Igbo people are true Nigerians like any other nation(or Tribes) in our great country. It's time to quite all xenophobia and Negative stereotypes perpetrated against Them. I acknowledge they contribute alot to this country culturally ,economically and in all other aspect so we should all appreciate that. & yep, As a Yoruba man, i won't mind seeing an Igbo person(male/female) in Aso rock in the nearest future. Its time for Nigerians to grow up and understand we're all in this together.
Wake up from your dream,we have never been in this together. The Igbos fought a war so as not to be in "this together". Nigeria is an identity forced on the Igbo man by the British. Let's not kid our selves that Hausa,Yoruba and Igbo love each other. We can't stand each other! So as an Igbo man,my first allegiance is to the Igbo nation. After that, I'll take a look at Nigeria.

Can anyone enlighten me,I would like to know if igbos are found in other African countries or any African country that speaks a different dialect of Igbo other than the one spoken in Nigeria against the backdrop of that for example Yoruba can be found in Benin and Togo,Fulani can be found in Niger,Cameroon etc.
Thanks
Igbos are well known traders and can be in other African countries trading but they are not usually part of the indigenous population. I once met a Brazilian in London who told that his great-grand father was a descendant of an Igbo slave.

Listen Mr man, I'm a full fledged Igbo man. I know an Igbo name when I hear one. Okolo and Onochie are common Igbo names. Attama is the only debatable one there and could be Igbo if 'Ata' and 'Ama' are spoken in certain way. The Igala that have settled in parts of Enugu and Anambra for generations have more or less become Igbo

Ndi Igbo need to spread their bets. Relying on GEJ and PDP alone is hedging their bets on one option alone. If that ship sinks, they go down en masse.

Sticking with GEJ/PDP has killed APGA. They should have joined APC during the coalition and had a say in choosing positions within APC.
The worst part is the Igbos are encouraging the tagging of GEJ's presidency as an Igbo one. The implications are profound- no Igbo Presidency again after GEJ until it goes round all other geopolitical zones. This is extremely foolish by all standards.

If GMB wins, which is likely, the Igbos may have politically checkmated themselves by sticking to GEJ/PDP.
GMB needs SE votes as much as they need him and APC.
I suggest Ohanaeze or APGA gets into some secret understanding with GMB and APC for this elections.
Thats a sure banker presidency for GMB with about 45 million SE votes.
This way they get something meaningful out of all these.

Edit: SE has ~7 Million Eligible Voters not 45 Million. Na typo. grin

GMB 2015 On Course.
This is all wishful thinking. I would be very surprised if APC gets more than 3% of the Igbo vote, the rest is going to GEJ. This election has become more than just about political positions or what Buhari will do or won't do if he wins. This has become more about keeping the presidency in the south. Why would the Igbos want power to go back to the north and their "born to rule" mentality? What is it about Buhari that even shows anyone that he will be any better than GEJ? This is a man who ran one of the most draconian regimes in Africa during his first outing. APC is just a grand plot by the Yorubas and northerners to rotate power between themselves just like they have always done,at the expense of the Igbos and the people of the South/south and we Igbos won't be fooled by the so called "change" mantra being sung now. There's no alternative to GEJ as far as the majority of Igbos are concerned, and even if there was, it wouldn't be an expired Hausa/Fulani cattle rearer of a General called Buhari.

Only problem with this is that you Ikwere people bear Igbo names and speak the Igbo language so the Ikwere nation has to explain to Igbos how and why they 'stole' the Igbo language, names and culture. The "Ogbakor Ikwere", where did you people get "Ogbakor" from? So Chibuike Amaechi told you people you are not Igbo while answering to a name like his? Also,I want someone to ask the Eze Ikwere where he got "Eze" from. Another devious thing about the Ikwere's is that they only remember they are not Igbo's when they are in Portharcourt. As soon as they travel to other places like Lagos and Abuja that has a large Igbo population, they blend in with the Igbos so as not to seen as a 'minority'.

Politics › Re: Cameroonian Soldiers Chase Nigerians Out Of Bakassi (Photo) by zendy: 11:48pm On Dec 29, 2014
Bakassi is a classic case of where a lot of Nigerians tend to be hypocritical. Neither Nigeria, Cameroun or indeed the world care about what the indigenous people that inhabit Bakassi want. This issue goes at the heart of why Nigeria will never function as a country. The right thing to do in all situations like this is to ask the indigenous that inhabit a land mass what they want and their wishes respected. Who has the right to tell an Igbo man,Ijaw man,Ibibio man or Bakassi man if they are Nigerians? It is the right of people to decide for themselves who they are. What should happen is for a referendum or plebiscite to be conducted in not only Bakassi, but all other people in Nigeria like the south-south and South-east who have long been agitating for their right to self determination. Even recently in Britain, the people od Scotland were given a referendum if they want to be an independent nation or if they want to remain in the United Kingdom, they chose to stay in the UK. But in a backward country like Nigeria, the general notion is "you must remain Nigerian" no matter what. From this "prison" known as Nigeria, people expect a nation to evolve. I laugh.

Politics › Re: The Reason For Southeast To Vote Buhari by zendy: 12:06pm On Dec 20, 2014
In my opinion, people like Buhari and GEJ are not the type of men we need as president. There are more competent people in Nigeria than these two. Unfortunately, the politics of the day has presented these people. There's nothing about Buhari to show that he will be any better than GEJ. Political sagacity behooves the Igbos to vote GEJ. Only a very stupid Igbo man will be fighting for a Hausa man to be president over his south-South neigbour. The 2015 presidential election is much more than it seems. APC is nothing but a concoction between Buhari and Tinubu to entrench Hausa/Yoruba hegemony in Nigeria. Right from the start,APC knew that Buhari would be the presidential flagbearer. I can guarantee you that none of these Yoruba APC supporters would have been shouting 'change' if GEJ had been a Yoruba man. They wouldn't have even joined APC in the first place. Yorubas need the northerners to maintain the fraud known as Nigeria, they can't do it by themselves. APC was born out of evil intent and that's they will fail. GEJ makes the best sense for the Igbos. The Devil I know is better than the Angel in heaven I do not know. GEJ till 2015!!

Don't be myopic. An Igbo man cannot succeed to be the president as long as there is a sitting South - south president. Who will vote for us? Is it the Yorubas or Northerners? Or you think that the Niger-Delta will leave GEJ to vote for an Igbo man?Any Igbo man running now is just running for the sake of Running and not because he has any chance of winning. Did you expect PDP to dump Jonathan for an Igbo man? Or you expect the Hausa/Yoruba inspired APC to dump Buhari and Atiku for an Igbo man? Not possible. The only time an Igbo can run with any chance of winning is after Jonathan. South west and South-South will have had there turn and an Igbo man will run against a northerner. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, so Wamakko can say what he likes. This is a clear example of the insolence of these parasitic northerners. It is the oil and gas money from GEJ's ancestral land that is paying to run the generator in state house in the impoverished Sokoto state. It is the oil wealth of the South-South that is paying for the Government of Wamakko. Every month, this same Wamakko will go and collect Government subventions that is paid for by the people of the South-South but he has the effrontery to sit his Hausa/Fulani a$$ down in government house and tell a son of the South-South to resign. This Hausa/Yoruba inspired APC people want Jonathan out but they have no problem at all collecting Billions of Naira in oil money coming out of Jonathan's home state of Bayelsa every month. "Monkey the dey work,Baboon dey tell am when him resign for work" . I don't blame these APC people, it is the fraud known as Nigeria that allows them to look at South-South that is paying for all them not to starve to death and think they can determine when they should get out of office. We Igbos are looking at you APC people come 2015. You people will need a 500 ton crane to remove GEJ from Aso Rock because he is going absolutely nowhere!

Those Igbo politicians are stupid. Is Jonathan an Igbo or has he done anything spectacular to attract our sympathy? jonathan is surely vacating the seat soon and Nigeria is moving foward for good. Amaechi and Okorocha are the wisest and best Governors East of the Niger from every point of assessement. Why are they against Jonathan. The worst set like Akpabio, T Orji and Peter Obi are the ones supporting the worst leader in the world. Where is Chime now? Is he still in Jonathans camp?
Learn from history. Ethnicity plays a huge part in how people vote in Nigeria. In 2003 when OBJ was running for president, despite the fact that his first term was a monumental disaster, his people rallied around him to get him re-elected. The Yorubas who are screaming 'change' in APC now forgot all about that and towed the ethnic line to get OBJ re-elected even though they knew he was a bad leader. Their party AD didn't even field a presidential candidate. But now that it's a south-South man who is in there, they are suddenly comfortable with regime change. The truth is that GEJ and Buhari are just as bad as each other. Both men have had the opportunity to lead Nigeria and both did badly. So I as an Igbo must choose from both bad leaders who best represents my interests and it is GEJ. You can never convince an Hausa man to choose GEJ over Buhari same way you couldn't convince the Yorubas to dump OBJ for Buhari in 2003. This is the same way you cannot convince an Igbo man to dump GEJ for Buhari. OBJ,GEJ and Buhari are as bad as the come. We are not talking about men with incredible track records who are presenting themselves for office,we are talking about men who have at one time or the other had the opportunity to right the wrongs of Nigeria and all 3 failed spectacularly. Since we saddled with this sort of leadership,GEJ is only alternative for the Igbos. Okorocha and Amaechi are just 2 Igbo men who have let their "ambition for higher office" take their common sense away. One wants to be president while the other is scheming for vice. That's the only reason they joined APC and they intend to make GEJ their scape-Goat. Both men will pay the price in 2015. Igbos won't be fooled by you APC converts and your message of change. Change of what? One bad leader to another? GEJ till 2019!!!

Simple and straight to the point. Buhari is more popular than any Nigerian alive and won the primaries. Okorocha is the most popular Igbo politician today.
Don't make me laugh. Outside Imo state,Okorocha commands little or no patronage in Igbo land. Buhari has a large following in the north,GEJ has a large following in the South-South. Okorocha has nothing. The problem with Rochas is that he is a "one man show". He thinks he can advance politically just by his Charisma and personality alone. That's not how it works because politics is a game of numbers. Okorocha is the only politician in Nigeria who wants be president with no support base. Is it his Orlu zone that will make him president? The man has painted him self a picture of an arrogant knuckle head who only listens to his thinking. The way things are now in Nigeria,an Igbo man should not be fighting his next door neigbour,a south-South man for the office of the president. It is not in our best interest to do this because the truth is that the south-South are closest political allies we have in Nigeria. Okorocha should have known this before going on his APC wild-goose chase. Now Okorocha has put himself in a position where he will work to make a northerner like Buhari the president over his Ijaw neigbour. Is that not political stupiidity? Most Igbo politicians declined to run against GEJ but it's only Okorocha that wants to show he has more sense than anyone else. Look at how Rochas bastardised democracy by handing over Imo state APC Governorship position to his son in-law "to hold for him" while he goes to make a foool of himself at the APC presidential primaries, thereby showing everyone that APC in Imo state is about him alone. I really hope that Imo state people take back the mandate they gave Okorocha and hand it back to APGA or someone who truly deserves it.

As far as Nigeria crazy politics is concerned, you cannot compare Rochas and Obi in political clout. Without Rochas APGA would have been rigged out again by Ohakim and his gangs in 2011. Obi's re-election was Ngige/PDP vs Ikemba, nothing to do with Obi.
Rochas fought PDP in Imo without Ikemba who was already very ill and now you are lying to yourself?

Once Ikemba died Obi abandoned APGA and start following Jonathan like a puppy.
You cannot blame Rochas who at least has a higher ambition as an independent thinking person when he realized that Umeh and Obi has turned APGA into a subsidiary of PDP that are not even willing to field their own presidential candidate in elections.

When did a privately successful Igboman become a water career for a dumb Ijaw man, who by a mere stroke of luck and misfortune of others hit a jackpot of leadership and lacking any clue as to what to do with it?
It is an insult to a proud Igbo sons like me. That's not the way we are raised.
Just look at your mentality. Igbos do not need to run for president to have a sense of belonging. What we achieve as a people speaks for us rather than who is running for whatever political position. Rochas is a con artist who is taking the people of Imo state for a ride. People are shouting 'free education' as if he is the first and only politician to do this. The man has duped his way to power at every twist and turn. First he duped APGA,and now,the people of Imo state. He had one leg in APC presidential primaries in Lagos and the other leg in Imo state guber race in Owerri. Although Rochas is well known nationally, but outside Imo state he commands little or no patronage in Igbo land. Politics › APGA Gubernatorial Primaries by zendy(op): 6:25pm On Dec 09, 2014
APGA with its major political base in the South East held Gubernatorial primaries in some states yesterday 8th Decenber. I would appreciate it if anyone can update us on what is happening in their states in regards to this but reports reaching me about two states (Abia and Imo) is as follows.

Captain Iheanacho, former interior minister, won in Imo state defeating his closest rival Okey Ezeh by 972 votes to 44.

Also Abia state, the former Managing director of Diamond Bank Dr Alex Otti clinched the APGA ticket. Otti polled 485 votes out of a total of 503 votes cast to defeat his rival, Mr Chikwendu Udensi, who scored eight votes.

The situation in Enugu is unclear but it is believed that there is an understanding between APGA and Governor Chime for his faction of PDP to decamp en mass to APGA should his prefared candidates not scale through.

I have no reports about APGA in Ebonyi state just yet.
Politics › Re: Why The Igbos Will Never Produce A President by zendy: 11:20am On Dec 05, 2014
We have had a Yoruba president in Obasunjo. What this do for Yorubas? Nothing!

We have had a Hausa president in Yaradua. What did this do for Hausas? Nothing!

We now have a south-South president in GEJ. What is this doing for the South-south? Not a bloody thing!

So in 2015,2019 or 2023,if we have an Igbo president what will it do for the Igbo nation? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!

This Igbo president of a thing is something that the northerners and the Yorubas want to use to pull the wool over the eyes of the Igbos. Igbo president is what they want to use to make us Igbo not see the bigger picture, that Igbo development and political cohesion and unity is far more important than any political position in Nigeria. So an Igbo man becomes president or not, will this stop the sun from shining tomorrow? I beg make I hear word jooo.

Igbo bu Oke Mba!! Igbo esika!!
