Shubbylee:Nigeria may be bigger than Buhari and GEJ but Nigeria is not bigger than the people. There will be no peace after this elections regardless of who wins. There will be post-election violence and regrettably, some people will die. You think the presidential elections are just about GEJ and Buhari? It's gone past that. This has become about the north and west who have ruled for almost 50 of Nigerias 55 years vs the East and South who they want to keep in political slavery. I don't know where you came up with 70% of my fellow Igbos not supporting Biafra,I can tell that a much larger number that are disposed leaving Nigeria. What some Igbos maybe concerned about is what happens to their investments and the needless loss of lives. In the same vain, the people of the SS are tired of their oil and gas being stolen in the name of 'one Nigeria'. Thee SS man knows that the zones that are supporting Buhari contribute nothing of value the lives of the SS people. If a referendum is conducted today,90% of the SE/SS people will vote to leave Nigeria either as one sovereing nation or two independent ones.Boko Haram is not the problem of the SS/SE people,it's a northern problem so let them deal with it. A country is only a nation when it has the express permission of the constituent people who make it up. Without this, that country is no more than a prison. It is either GEJ or no Nigeria. |
Some Guys on Nairaland make me laugh. Some guys are saying that girls are materialistic and greedy. Is anyone forcing you guys to be with such a girl? If you find out that a girl likes money too much, why walk away? Did Chinaza put a gun to this 17 year old boys head and force him to steal? This is all nonsense. This boy is luck that he is not 18 years old yet,he may still be treated as a minor so chances are that they won't bring the full weight of the law down him. Stupid 17 year old boy |
Shubbylee:Your kidding your self. The SE/SS people have long been tired of Nigeria. The election of GEJ was seen as the proof that someone from this part of Nigeria could be seen as an equal. Already, the separatist groups of the SE and the Niger delta militants have made the declaration. Should Buhari win,it will be the end of Nigeria because these groups will rearm and go to war. If the Nigerian army cannot defeat Boko haram of a few thousand men,how will they defeat an SE/SS army that could run into millions? The election of Buhari is the direct end of Nigeria. |
Shubbylee:Let's just say for the benefit of argument that this 'statistics' of yours actually reflects what is on ground and Buhari wins, what do you think will happen next? You really believe that the SS/SE are prepared to accept Buhari as president? My brother,if you think that what Boko Haram are doing now is bad then wait until Buhari is declared winner. There is an unspoken rule and understanding amongst the SS//SE People. Should Buhari win, we the SE/SS are pulling out of Nigeria and violently if need be. So while you are rejoicing about GMBH and APC,just know that Buhari can only be president of the North and west,he can never be president of a unified Nigeria. The day of reckoning is coMing. |
Chei! I weep for the North. They held power for almost 40 years but achieved nothing. Even if you give them power for another 40 years, they will still achieve nothing. I wonder what would have become of the northerners if they never had the Southern Nigerians who have been carrying them along since 1960 |
My father was a captain in the Biafran army and has told all about the war. One thing that should be noted here is that freedom is always purchased in blood. Liberation costs lives and suffering to get. All the Igbos and their brothers in the south-South asked is to be accorded their God given right to decide if they want to be Nigerian or not. But the Yorubas and the northerners were far more interested in the oil to care about that. Nigeria is a nation built and sustained on one big lie, that we are a United people. The Igbo,Yoruba and Hausa man can't even stand each other let alone unite. One day,my people the Igbos will once again be free of the bondage known as Nigeria and when that time come, what a glorious moment it shall be. |
I will never understand us Africans and the barbaric 'roasting' of human beings. What's that all about? If a suspect has been apprehended, why go on to beat and kill them in such a crude and despicable way? Tufiakwa!!! |
Is smoking a sin? putting it into context. If someone lived their life the right way all their lives but was a smoker, would God say "Go to Hell because you smoked"? People fornicate, drink excessively, steal and do many bad things on a daily basis that are much worse than smoking. Yes smoking kills, yes it can cause Cancer. But as a Christian, does the Bible tell me not to smoke? The Bible doesn't even discourage drinking and even tells people that Jesus provided Alcohol which is more dangerous than smoking at a wedding. While I would never encourage anyone to take up smoking, I'm a smoker myself and I know how hard it is to quit, I at the same time would say that some people, particularly hypocritical African Christians have put smoking on a 'sinful pedestal' it should not be on. For people who say 'Smoking kills', yes it can kill but it hasn't stopped you from fornicating, traveling in cars, flying on Airplanes, swimming, crossing a busy road, fighting, all of which could lead to certain death. Smoking can be a bad habit, it can kill like many other things in society. But as a Christian, I believe that if Smoking is enough to be condemned to Hell, then no one will make Heaven. All of us will do things in our lives that are much worse than smoking. |
I had no idea it was called Velvet Tamarind in English. We call it Icheku or Icheleku in Igbo. I also remember that the leaves could be eaten without cooking. |
Abia is an oil producing state. What is T Orji doing with Abia state oil money? The man has been unpopular since his first term. It's good that Nigerians have learnt how to shame public office holders that do not perform because without it,some of these politicians will be giving themselves undue 'pass mark' not knowing they have not done anything |
Fake prophet. Nigeria is a doomed enterprise,a sinkng sheep. An Igbo will president one day, but of an independent sovereign Republic of Biafra! Igbos don't care about that 'poisoned chalice' called 'Nigerian presidency" any more. The south-South can have it Biafra 4 life! |
So he ended his life because a woman disappointed him? If could do that with the millions of women out there looking for husband, the guy would have eventually found another reason kill himself anyway |
tatosh:Don't be deluded. If you think that an APC Government or Buhari will stop these dastardly acts then think again. These are Islamic fundamentalists at work and they have no problem giving up their lives for what the believe in. In Iraq and Afghanistan, despite hundreds of thousands of armed troops on the ground, the US could not control suicide bombers from killing people on a daily basis. How is it APC is going to stop such a faceless enemy? You think this is Sambisa Forrest? Has APC even told you how they will stop Boko Haram whose ultimate goal is to Islamise Nigeria? Stop deluding your self that the same set of criminals that make up APC are going to come in and change anything. These terrorist acts will continue until we face the truth about Nigeria, and that is that the country should be divided according to religious and ethnic lines and there will be peace. You don't bring petrol and fire together and not expect trouble |
These are pictures of Rochas Okorocha's purported multi-Billion Naira home in his Spibat estate, Owerri. I know that Rochas was a successful billionaire business man long before he became Governor so its not my opinion that he built all this with the peoples money. Im just posting this because I think its interesting to show how some of our public office holders live.

It is sign of a barbaric soceity where criminal suspects are beaten and burnt to death. It is truly shocking. The same person they are burning to death could have given useful information to capture the rest. Funnily enough, the same people committing the "jungle justice" are Christians and Muslms who's religion dicourages unnecessary killing. |
I have seen this baby.I remember when this story broke about 4 or 5 years ago. I was one of those who thought "she has been with a white man", "they stole the baby" and all. But it wasn't till I actually saw this baby with the parents and Grand -mother that I realised what happened. The baby's partanal Grand-Mother is almost an albino and has blue eyes just like the baby. If you see the grandmother, you will find it hard to believe that she is the one that gave birth to father of the child pictured here who is as black as coal. Sometimes, the albino gene skips a generation and mutates into something unexplainable. |
I'm not a fan of piercings. I'm ok with Tattoos as long as it is somewhere on the body that can be covered up at will,I'm definitely not a fan of throat or facial Tatoos. In general,I'm someone who is more interested in a persons true character. People make Tattoos and piercings but tattoos and piercings don't make the person |
afuye:You forget that Fayose enjoys immunity,he has nothing to fear. |
Fayose aside, did Buhari have an interview in a hotel room in Abuja then claim it was in Londo? The sofa looks similar, the table looks similar, even the chair that Buhari sat on looks like the one that Fayose is sitting on. Did Fayose go to London to buy the furniture to frame Buhari? Something is wrong somewhere. |
Depends on the individual perception of love. The word "Love" is no longer a universal language. Bring 100 people,50 men and 50 women, into a room. Give them pen and paper and ask them to write down their understanding of love. You might just end up with 100 different answers. |
myproperty:Of course he is not a combatant military leader who went to the NDA,however,no military formation is allowed to go to war without GEJ's permission. The constitution designates GEJ as commander in-Chief of Nigerias entire armed forces. If that's not a military leader, then I don't know what is. The only difference is that GEJ's commission as a military officer only lasts while he is president. In some other countries like Britain and India, the head of Government is not the head of the Armed forces |
GEJ is wearing the rank of field Marshall with the 5 stars on his collar (which he is entitied to as commander in chief) |
I generally like Stormrex but one thing I find irritating about her is her decision to always sing in her Nkanu-Igbo dialect. Not all Igbos will find it easy understanding the Nkanu dialect and some people like me that understand it find the dialect a bit annoying. She should sing more in central Igbo. But there is no denying her talent. |
iamimonitie:Let me tell you something which you may not know. For a long time, some scottish people agitated and advocated for the independence of Scotland from the UK. What did the British Goverment do? As people who believe in equity and the right of a people to choose their destiny, the British Government designated 2014 as a year when a referendum would be conducted in Scotland to let the people decided if they wanted to go or stay. Nobody was shouting treason! Or war! as they do on Nairaland. The Scotish people voted last year to stay in the UK rather than leave as an independent nation and their wish was respected by all. In Nigeria,we are not mature enough to allow people decide their destiny. The Igbo man has every right to decide for himself if he wants to be Nigerian or not but everyone else thinks its a 'must' to be Nigerian. "Prisoner mentality" is a very bad thing |
It is regrettable when a person dies. What is more regrattable is that this is an Igbo guy who died fighting a war that was not his to fight. As a Biafran enthusiast someone who belives that Nigeria is a fraud, this guy should never have been in some arid northern region fighting islamic fundermentalist. What a waste. This guy could have been in some sort of Biafran army fighting to defend his people, instead,he died defending a doomed Nigeria. RIP |
YoSliM:You're a fool. What would you have been if the British had never come to Africa? You would have still been an Igbo. Why then are you proud of a 'slave name' known as 'Nigerian' the white man gave you over the name of you fore-fathers? The black American man was given the slave name "N*gga" by the white man but he threw it away and is now known as Afro-American,a name he chose for himself. You on the other hand, have decided to embrace the slave name "Nigerian" the white man gave you. You talk about Ojukwu and Biafra. Over 30,000 Igbos and easterners were slauthered across Nigeria mainly in the north. How many did you want to be killed before Ojukwu acted? Do you know that Ojukwu and Gowon sat down and signed a peace agreement in Ghana known as the 'Aburi accord' that was mean to prevent war but Gowon broke that agreement which brought about the war? Wisen up,you are in a fake union with people who despise you and every time you say you are a proud Nigerian, you are simply saying you proud to be a slave. Countries like south Sudan and east Timor are independent nation that fought wars to be free, and they are now enjoying it. Throw away your slave mentality and believe you can be more than just a 'Nigerian' |
andyanders:God did not create Nigeria, Lord Lugard created Nigeria and he did it for his pocket and not for God. Reading through this thread, it becomes self evident that the Hausa and Yoruba man are looking for every reason under the sun not to let the Igbo or south-south man go. They cant afford to let us go because they need us like fish needs water. If a person cannot let another go,that person had better admit that they are 'junior' partners in that relationship. The Yoruba/Northern solution to controling the people of the SE/SS is APC/Buhari. Nigeria is a 100 year old fraud that started in 1914 when Lord Lugard decided to bring people who have nothing in common together just for his own selfish convenience. Any time the Igbos say the want their own country (which is their God given right if they so wish to exercise that right) everybody starts screaming? Why? Cant these people do without the Igbos? What business is it of a Yoruba or Hausa man how the Igbos will survive in Biafra? The Yoruba and Hausa man contribute little or nothing to the development of the Igbos but they are concerned about how we will survive as Biafrans? The Igbos survived for 3 years as Biafrans even after being blockaded by air land and sea but still rose out of the ashes of the civil war to rebuild their homeland and thrive today. But a Yoruba man wants to patronise me as an Igbo man by asking me how I will survive without Nigeria? How laughable. I am an Igbo man first before I am anything else and I believe that the vast majority of Igbos (85 to 90%) will opt out of Nigeria for Biafra if given the opportunity. A nation is built by the sovereign will of the people, not by force. Nnamdi Kanu was spot on about the assessment of Nigeria, the country is a nation on paper only. Nigeria must end in this year of 2015 because it is a fraud visited on the SS/SE people by the British!!! Proud Biafran 4 life!!! |
MadCow1:Then also know how to tell your fellow Northern parasites that we in the south commiserate with them. The last sweet thing to come out of the North was Sugarcane |
ItsMeAboki:Name calling is cheap, economic indexes and the reality on the ground don't lie. The entire North is a liability to Nigeria and I challenge anyone to mention one thing they actually contribute to Nigeria. The northern protectorate of Nigeria was actually merged with the South protectorate because the British were making a loss with them and not much has changed 100 years later |
MadCow1:Truth is bitter |

and also " the 5ive generals" then make your researches. Gone are the days we say we are igbos, yoruba or Hausa if you ask me today who are you young man? With cheek high, confidence and charisma I will proudly answer that I am a Nigerian. Together we are stronger, together we are unstoppable, and together we can build a better nation. I love ndi IGBO , I love NIGERIA.
