TheGoodJoe:
This is not luck. This is foresight. City U19 plays the U23 League. The City heads feel the boys will gain playing against Older players.
The truth is, you will value your 16 years brother going to Korea and his team losing 8-0 than to play academy football within that time frame. I will value my brother of any age going to Korea and his team losing 8-0, so that point holds no water, cos its still same exposure boys of U13, U17, U18 or U19 will gain, but the question is who will it benefit more. In all, what we are saying is that the right thing should be done |

It is not about the score but the chance of these young boys to play quality professionals. They learned things that will benefit them for the rest of their lives. now I get your drift, seeing the skyscrapers, nice structures, holding the shirt of solanke and seeing many white men is the exposure, but that's the duty of the ministry of tourism and not the nff. |

A team get wallop 8-0 and you call that exposure, the Npfl all stars playing malaga, Atl Madrid is what I term exposure, you expose them to their counterpart(not their seniors) outside the country, what the nff succeeded in doing was to kill the little confidence that is left in those boys after being knocked out from the U-17 qualifiers |

Something stopped us. We carried a rigorous screening process to discover the next talents to grow in the country. We used this tournament to give them exposure. What these boys learnt from this will stay with them for a life time.
Their coaches will understand their weak points to work on and the team will gel faster. It is not always about immediate results. You don't give mediocres, wack players exposure, its like beating a horse to drink water. You can take them to Jupiter in the name of "exposure" still won't change anything, sending a Nani to mars or Venus won't change him to a Ronaldo |

An U17 team losing 1-0 to an Iranian U19 team can not receive the wack classification. It was an U19 tournament and nothing stops us from using our U19 team save for "Exposure" |

BascoVanVeli: Wat happened in south africa was an insult to the progress that has gone on in African football. That ref and his team should be suspended. saw highlight of the match, the Ghanian ref is a fraud and a disgrace to African football, manufacture penalty from nothing, reminds me of Npfl yrs back. |

These boys are our U17 team. Unfortunately, there is no U17 tournament for them. So the NFF used this tournament to keep them together and make them train together.
They are playing among top players. They will learn from this experience and improve. we have an U-20 team that have no tournament to play, a tournament made for their age bracket is given to the U-16 and you call that "brilliant"? |
Sports › Re: THE NIGERIAN YOUTH AND CADET TALENTS/ PLAYERS THREAD (Home and Abroad) by zicky(m): 11:15pm On Nov 10, 2016 |
TheGoodJoe: These are 16 - 17 years players. Owen, Rooney were known players within these ages. Yet, this ones are having this exposure now.
It is not only about winning. What of education? That is a big part of sports. This was a brilliant move. just like the Experience stuff, this Exposure talk is so annoying *hand on my ear* call me after the exposure. A team that could not cross their first hurdle(qualify for Africa U-17 tournament) want exposure, for what. A child that could not pass junior waec, wants exposure with senior waec, that's the height. |

Its just like sending a js 3 student to write waec in the name of exposure. Nigeria should have use their U-13 or U-10 for a more better exposure, arrant nonsense. Btw the Iran U-16 don't need exposure |

Mickael2: simple. do you know why Mathieu is still a Barcelona player right now? because he is left footed. Omeruo isn't left footed yet he does manage to play on the left side of our defence because we have no other option. analyse the errors that he made. against Zambia, he could have cleared that ball with his right foot if the ball was coming in from his right, but since it was coming in from the left which is his weaker foot,he was caught in an awkward situation. against South Africa, I can remember one of the goals that Rantie out-muscled him, he was on the left side again and since he is right footed, he can't balance well with his right foot on the ground, let me explain well... if you are right footed, you tend to balance more on the ground with your left foot, when you study how to do long jumps, if you are right footed, you will be advised to take off with your left foot because you are always more balanced when you stand on your left foot and vice versa, so in these two cases he has a point to make which is why I am not surprised that the coach tried out Echejile as a CB, he is the only left footed defender we have but all these takes nothing away from Omeruo. when he was paired with Oboabona on the left, he was great, from the Afcon to the world cup.did he commit any error? never thought of that hmmm, the left foot, right foot balance is so true |

Mickael2: Is Omeruo right footed or left-footed? Simple answer what does his left or right have to do with the errors against Luxembourg, southAfrica n zambia. Omeruo should be move to the fullback(R or L) position. |

Generals03: Lol sir Icons do not misquote him. He did not say Aluko is 'better' than them. He said he is more 'skillful' than them, which I agree to.
What skill has Iheanacho got on the ball? Can he even dribble past his marker with ease? But he dribble past the Zambia keeper. Btw foottball skills is not all about dribbling, Intelligence (game understanding), Vision(ability to see build-up play ahead to others or ability to see a pass or awareness of players around you), Composure (ability to control the game at any critical situation in the match) |

I doubt you watch the match against South Africa. They were on top the game, leading us 2-0. Aluko came in and turned the game around. His brilliant skills and sharp passes made us play with more vigor and fluidity. He capped his brilliant performance with two goals. In that game, we had Musa and Ike Uche on the field and they failed to score. Here you are saying any player will score two goals.
You are off to debate. South Africa won our group. Drew with us in the first game. So for you to say any player is baffling.
Where did I call Mba or Kayode? Or you just add ridiculous points to make the weak thing your saying pack a punch.
We are talking of a player in good form. Playing regularly. A fan of Aluko on Twitter offered him his wife. Lol.
And, you are saying below average. As in, you guys eh. you portray the south Africa side like one super team, it wasn't like the SA outplayed Nigeria but poor defending gifted SA the two goals, I still repeat any average player wearing the green and white for Nigeria can score two goals against SA |

Certitude: You is a badt guy forty man list. Truth be told let him be tested. Some players turns out to be beast in their national team jersey. I could remember Miroslav klose was underperforming at bayern before the 2O1O world cup. some players are not just lucky with the National team, Aluko is one player I love to see in the green & white jersey of Nigeria, his choice of club is not even helping matters. |

It is impossible. He is not average. Not in any way. Give him a chance in camp. Prove him average. When we were down two nil to South Africa, the player you tagged average, came in and turned the game around. He scored two goals and you call him average. Any average Nigeria player can score against the bafana bafana, Nwofor, Makinwa, even Osaze use South Africa to shine in his early yrs in football, Rohr should just name a 40man list so average players and below average players like Aluko, Oshiniwa, Sunday mba, Agbim, kayode will feel among. |

Nice team selection, its like this coach have been studying Nigeria football for a long time. On the 3-4-3 formation, I think its worth trying, Chelsea-Westham match is not good enough reason to speak against it. |
