Off point. That is not what the picture is trying to portray. You want us to believe they were suffering in a 3rd world country while enjoying in a developed country. Those guys are just showing us how far they have come as friends, simple. For all I care, they looked very good as students and most likely from a good financial background as well

They will pay them the money. Adamu was just capping nonsense. If the useless government was ever sincere, will ASUU be striking? Looters in power crying about scarce resources because they are looting everything

You are definitely one of those Peter Obi's supporters. They criticize the Government no matter what good the government did.
Continue wailing. The Students themselves are tired of those criminal ASUU.

NO WORK NO PAY.
Fvck ASUU
I am just a patriotic citizen calling out the most corrupt bunch of thieves masquerading as leaders. May be you are a benefactor of the corrupt system that has taken our dear country to a new low. We will still be here when the clueless government will pay them their salaries. As it is with them, they are always confused in decision making.

ASUU is not doing the wrong thing.
But they are going about it the wrong way.
How can they shut down tertiary institutions for 7 months to press home demands on the government they already accused not to value education.
They are suffering themselves and the students unnecessarily.
The way they are going about it is not wrong per se. Successive governments have dishonored so many agreements after ASUU calls off strikes. It is better they ensure something concrete comes out of this. It can be this government or next one. The way the goverment is going about this, there will be no affordable university for the poor majority again. The public universities will no longer exist or nothing to write home about.
They are not just sincere. When local airlines threatened to down tools, they quickly found a solution because they cannot use the roads due to insecurity. International airlines are suspending flights and they quickly found a way to remit their dollars because they must travel abroad for medicals, vacation and their children will have to resume to school. The whole thing is just annoying.

What if government refused to pay them, what can ASUU do that they've not done before?
Government has no option than to pay except if they want total collapse of the education system of the country. And I won't be surprised if it is what they are working towards considering how irresponsible the government is. Security is zero, heath is nothing, education almost collapsing, if not because of ASUU's resilience, our universities will just be like the public primary and secondary schools today. What exactly working? Nothing. This is all because of a failed government

Again I don't expect you to understand this because human beings generally don't have same level of comprehending situations.
I Pity the innocent students who are the children of the less privileged in the society. ASUU will still be paid for the months. The useless government is only grandstanding

Make them resign. We have many individuals with good qualifications and ambition to become lecturers. This will pave way for them to be employed as lecturers.
In your myopic thinking, this is an excellent solution. The bright and qualified persons you are proud of will stay with the poor service conditions right? The people leaving today were once bright and qualified. Someone sure made this kind of reckless statement before the people leaving today entered the system. It is fine, the so called qualified ones will fill the vacuum today but leave tomorrow and the cycle continues. While the thieves continue looting. The leadership is a reflection of the majority of the followers no doubt.

You cannot fool all the people the same time.
It is real. When you do not have enough knowledge of something, do not be emphatic in disputing it. As a matter of fact this is not new in lagos especially in Alausa. Beat traffic light there and be ready to pay. Most of the recent traffic lights installed have cameras mounted on them. Once your plate number is picked, your phone number and house address are identified inthe vehicle registration data and you are easily contacted. However, you are free to go and try if you are in doubt

In situations like these, it's better to seek external organ donors..Even if it's a paid donation.

They still have young kids.. And now both of them are on a tight health rope walking around with single kidneys sad....

Not a very wise decision in my opinion.. . The death of one parent, however sad it might be, is better than the death of both...

Idris for carry him cross jejely and leave Yetunde to be there for their kids... That's if he couldn't get an external donor.

ASUU is fighting for their pocket.leave those people out of it.How will you keep students on the street for 5 months
ASUU did not keep them on the street, government did. Why are you confused? The reason why the private schools are ripping off parents as you put it is because the public schools are nothing to write home about. And the singular reason is government negligence to public education. the guy you quoted is 100% right. At this rate, in the shortest time, you will come back crying that private universities are ripping up parents. The government universities will become like public primary and secondary schools.

Didn't FG pay ASUU EAA during this strike?
It took two weeks before ASUU acknowledged it and even boasted that the payment just strengthened their resolve.
Majority of the students are already fed up and given up at the same time.
Very soon everyone will stop talking about ASUU, in fact i don't see the government calling for any meeting any time soon.
The only reason the government will not find the solution to the problem is because it is highly irresponsible government. They careless as long as they continue embezzling money

EducationRe: ASUU’s Insistence On 6-Month Salary Stalling Negotiations – Federal Govt by zikter(m): 8:05am On Aug 19, 2022
OboOlora:
Just because some past administration like IBB and Obasanjo did it doesn’t make it the norm, ASUU needs to think twice and be realistic.

The country is facing the worst recession in its history and the treasury is almost empty. Even people that have been working are owed salary so how would the govt pay the ones that haven’t worked for 6months

As useless and selfish as the govt is, I do not support this at all.

A time is coming when no one would send ASUU again, either our kids are in private Uni or they learn a trade.

Let ASUU continue to think they can earn without working, it will shock them like Drs during ARD strike
The government is only grandstanding and being useless as usual. Do they claim they don't know what labour laws say on industrial action as relates to salaries and wages? Again, did ASUU cause the strike in the first place? Why is the government finding it difficult to fulfill agreements it signed with ASUU or even renegotiate? There only focus is to embezzle public funds.

Why do we praise people for doing what they are paid to do. Well in the country of the blinds, one eye is king
This statement is always used out of context. People all over are praised when they do a good job regardless of payment or not. It is not uncommon to praise a painter, mechanic, bricklayer etc for doing a good job even though they were paid to do it. Likewise in leadership and in all works of life. Indeed this is a worthy project and kudos to the people responsible for driving it.

But on what basis are they demanding tho. NUC Act does not make it mandatory for govt to be the their treasury pot. Govt is only supposed to provide support. What do they use the school fees they collect to dohuh

In my opinion, Universities should be made autonomous. Any university that cannot cope should be shut down and merged. Govt should rather invest in the students by providing bursaries and scholarships. The universities have weaponized strikes and industrial action. They won't even wait to discuss, they just strike first then discuss later.
Firstly, who told you ASUU(lecturers) collect and manage school fees? Secondly do you know how much parents will have to cough out if you insist on autonomy? This things are deeper than the shallow knowledge you have about them. Education anywhere is very expensive and governments all over input in one way or the other to subsidize it for the general good of her citizens. Our lazy and care free fraudulent politicians must live up to their responsibilities. Just find out how much they are paying for their children in foreign schools and you will marvel. Very useless people

EducationRe: Who Is ASUU Really Fighting For? by zikter(m): 9:17pm On Jul 27, 2022
Nazgul:
Are they fighting for their selfish interests or that of the students?

Personally, I don’t get seduced by the facade of fighting the government every time in the name of strike and people will willingly pull their strides behind ASUU. It doesn’t always move me. I want to ask the question; is ASUU really fighting for the well-being of the students, or are they using the fact that Nigeria is a failed government to clone as a facade to pursue their selfish interests, because they know that people will always fall behind them?

If ASUU is fighting for the welfare of the students, why won’t they also consider the welfare of the students and return to school? Why are they so comfortable that our students are at home since February, 2022 up till now? That is a period of 5 months and they are not even ready to move.

They don’t even care. As for me, I don’t support the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) joining ASUU in the strike. If ASUU is fighting for the welfare of the students, and they want us to believe that they have no ulterior motive, why haven’t they come out with their templates and convince Nigerians of their demands? Have they explained to the students exactly what they are fighting for and how it will benefit the students when granted?

During my days as a student, up till now, ASUU have always gone on strike and part of their demands have always been met, but I have never seen any significant improvement in the services they render to the students. The lecturers still trade sex for marks, they still sell books, handouts and collect inducements before a student passes their courses. And most importantly, they have not improved their teaching modules to enhance the education they offer.

So, how exactly is their protest in the interest of the students?

I want to know, and would be glad if anyone can help me out.

if he was born in 0ctober 2000, then 21 and 22 are not out of place. The actual should be 21 as he still has few months to his 22nd birthday. But if you consider year and not month, he is 22. The two scenerious are used interchangeably. I don't believe he is 15 though
