Bukkyade: OLODO! Were ni e! This shows you don't even watch news at all. I just found out I have been discussing with an Agbero all the while. An Agbero who doesn't know that FEC meetings hold every Wednesday since OBJ days in 1999. I'm happy you have come to learn this night. If you have a TV , stay tuned and watch CHANNELS TV or AIT or even STV news later today and you will watch the outcome of FEC sessions. Try it next week too and start following it. It will redeem your iilletracy. Please always tell them I told you first.
Wow, you are definitely a troll. Show me full coverage of the SEC meeting on Channels TV. You think everyone has time for your lies? Little girl, you are the illiterate. Are you the best they can do? See how the thing writes. At least I have my pride, I don't take cursed money and lie. Learn from your predecessors. Awuf will kill one day.

Bukkyade: Meanwhile, this woman in question was shown on air yesterday attending to some directors in the Nigerian Gas company over the linkage to GEREGU power plant.
Except, she was flown abroad just this morning because that report showed her in a parley with the director's yesterday.
Believe this rumours and you will believe anything.

You will be shocked to see her in tomorrow's FEC meeting. Let's watch and see. I have learnt not to trust these petty Internet based newspapers
You want us to believe you are a "typical" Nigerian. Just commenting on a thread, yet you know there is an FEC meeting tomorrow.hmmmm.

I pity you. If you as an adult can deny your family for punny, don't you need mental help? If you can't separate fantasy from reality then you have an issue. Obviously this guy wants to live two different lives separate from each other. If you see nothing mentaLly wrong in this then you sef need help. I am well confident in my mental health. I can never do this for anything in this world. A man that is supposed to be able to defend his family against anything, denies them for punny? It takes a mad person to marry another. For her to accept his cheating and rationalize it shows this is not new behavior. Even behavior pre marriage

miky: Lol no insult but i think u dont read properly for real!!

this is what u said: Even 100 and 50 dollar bills are very rare. Most people dont accept it because of security reasons. You dont know what you are talking about. Please logout.

this is how i responded : how do u get your information,, i withdraw cash everyday i get some in $100, and $50 too much 20's and u could loose em...

Now tell me where i talked about circulation? lol when the word i mentioned was WITHDRAW!! pertaining to withdrawal from banks abi na lie?

the usa doesn't need $1000 their currency is on par with any in the world. Nigeria currency has a ratio of 157: to 1 US dollar... it means if u buy an imported good from usa and want to pay in naira you have to pay 150x the amount of that good..thats too much cash to be carrying in my own opinion.. it is also too costly and inefficient for the cbn, banks and maybe u

if u cant understand that, then i dont think i can make it simpler..i suggest u look at facts.

Now i have a question for youhuh the #1000 naria was introduced in oct 2005, sometime that year inflation droped from 27.8% to around 12% How is this possible? You need source i can provide?
You keep shifting the goal post. I read your comment perfectly. No need for story. You have run out of things to argue about because you are totally ignorant. Elueme: I don't quite agree with your assertions.. The points you raised above could just be your psychology and it is the same way most Nigerians are thinking right now.. There are economic and market forces that determine inflation and cause currency devaluation not on the denomination itself.. Why has the dollar not been devalued even with their $100,000 , $10,000 or $5000 bills.. How abt Japan and other countries.. Ok, let's put Ghana in perspective with their hundreds of thousands of CDs their currency is even waxing stronger.. In as much as I don't advocate for this new policy, we should be able to tell ourselves the real issues other than looting and inflation .. The economists know so I expect them to sensitize us
Ghana’s cedi currency will shed four zeros next July, a central bank official said on Monday, and shoppers weary of carrying big bundles of bank notes welcomed the plan.

Residents of the West African country complain a combination of low-denomination notes and the low value of the cedi—a result of high and sustained inflation in the past—obliges them to carry bags full of tattered currency.

“We will be setting the current 10 000 cedis to one of the new Ghana cedis,” Ernest Addison, the bank’s head of research told local radio station Joy FM.

“It is not a revaluation. It is a redenomination,” he told Reuters later. “Depending on the exchange rate in July, the old currency will just translate into the new one.”

One United States dollar is currently worth 9 200 cedis.

miky: can u readhuh does withdrawing specifically mean atm machines.. as a med student here in the states, i withdraw cash from 3k to 4k depending on situation.. its not even safe to do that driving through those atm machines, dont get killed bro lol grin

obviously $20 is common so is $1 which is probably more common... but the point u stated previously was that 50, and 100 are not really used??
I exposed your lie, that is the point. You said you get 100 and 50 dollars like it is in circulation and used everyday. When you actually have to specifically go into the bank and ask for it. Obviously those are the largest amounts of currency in the US and they are not as common as the lower denominations. I know stores that will not accept the 100 dollar note, and will closely scrutinize it before accepting. Now i want you to explain, why the US does not creat 1,000 notes so that you can boast around or carry 3 notes of your 1,000 embarassed

You dont know what you are talking about. I have lived in the US. It is mostly foreigners that bring in 100 and 50 dollar notes. Nigerians to be precise. Am definitely arguing with someone that has no idea. The most common currency in circulation in the US is 20 dollars and below. You can never withdraw 50 or 100 from the ATM. you have to go into the bank and specifically ask for it.
Politics › Re: FG Endorses N5000 Note Introduction by 2mch(m): 10:33pm On Sep 04, 2012
miky: lol a bit silly bro.. inflation is caused when the total value of currency printed is way to high compared to goods and service on the demand floor.. if cbn wants to print 5000 it only means fewer lesser denomination would be printed so the total value is the same... our useless naira is due to the fact we produce nothing in nigeria our trade deficit is horrible.. and sometimes economic growth can spur a bit of inflation so it can be trivial at times.. grin grin
Printing N5,000 notes does not increase the amount of money in circulation? huh. Printing higher denomination of notes does not indicate a less valued currency? These notes are going to be in circulation are they not? huh. If you are a currency trader what will you think of a country with N5,000 note? Will you want to buy it? huh
Politics › Re: FG Endorses N5000 Note Introduction by 2mch(m): 10:27pm On Sep 04, 2012
Genius100: Dude, stop being ignorant. Everybody in the USA use $100 bills, which is equivalent to N16,000. Ghana uses a 50 cedi bill which is equivalent to about N7500. What are you on about? If you ignorant about something, at least ne honest enough to know and say you are ignorant. Please show us the study that links higher notes to inflation..

Elueme: I still don't get how this note will destroy our economy.. As much as I don't subscribe t o the new denominations especially coins I don't see how it will aid our corrupt leaders in looting more than they are currently doing. Do u need naira notes to inflate contract or mk fake subsidy claims? Other countries have far higher denominations of their currencies and their economy hasn't scrumbled.. We should state what the real grouse is and stop pegging it on shallow excuses.
With higher denominations comes inflation. Do you think developed countries are fools? If it was a matter of how much money to handle, would they not have predated us in issuing 1 million dollar notes? Now the price of everything is going to increase drastically, and we have the same level of income. It is also going to devalue our currency on the international market. Your purchasing power vs international markets will be much lower as people have less confidence in your currency. It all has to do with how people will view your currency. Issuing higher notes creates a panic in the currency market, the trickle down effect is inflation. undecided.

obailala: Please, can someone be kind enough to explain to me why/how the N5000 note will destroy our economy/nation?? If the words of CBN are anything to go by, the new N5000 notes will not necessarily be in circulation; just like in the US where they have the $1000 and $10,000 bills (which are however not in circulation)
Believe it or not, it wasn’t just to save space in fatcats’ wallets. When the Treasury started printing these giant bills, their main purpose was making transfer payments between banks and other financial institutions. Before sophisticated wire transfer systems were fully developed, it was apparently easier and safer just to fork over a $5,000 bill to settle up with a fellow bank. Once transfer technology became safer and more secure, there really wasn’t much need for the big bills anymore

Are you trying to tell me Nigeria does not have an effective wire transfer system? Are you trying to tell me our banking system is as bad as it was in the 1940's? Besides you cannot compare our system with the US's financial system in which their level of debt defies all odds. They determine a lot of financial policies globally, and know how to protect their economy. So yes, they will allow the normal laws of economics to fall hard on our currency. There is a reason why these notes are not available to regular individual and are rare. Stop lying please. This anti people policy by GEJ is treason. Your oga is daft.

The thing is someone is benefiting from this. Because they could have easily paid the designer off. But they chose to go with a designer that wanted his design patented. Someone in government is involved in this and needs to be exposed. It is not like the naira design is even anything extra ordinary. It is more expensive in the long run to use a patent. Especially when it is attached to a currency. It is time for the masquerade to be exposed, rather than paying it again with the new N5,000.

esere826: Patent owned by foreigners? what am I not getting here?

Can some monetary (non governmental) expert please explain!!!

I am in a state of shock
For every Naira printed this person gets a percentage/fee. Not only was this person paid, but for like 20years, they will keep getting paid as long as their designs are used. I dont think this agreement was disclosed to the public or agreed upon by the previous NASS. This is why this is void and illegal. Knowing this though, it is not clear if the FG wants to get a new designer, or they just want to enslave the Nigerian currency to this same "designer" for another 20years. How this validates the N5,000 note is still unclear. This is so stupid it is shocking.

Who gave them the patent in the first place. Was the process legal? If it was illegal and the patent thieves were involved in this illegal process, then the government can fight to get the patent back at just legal fees. This is a heavy disgrace. I find it hard that a Nigerian hiding under foreign fronters does not own the patent. Tell us who owns the patent now so that we can expose the true owner.
