Gbawe: What did the guy say to warrant this unsolicited slur from you? Have you "ever run a company before"? Let me put it to people like you, overtly too capitalist to see what matters, that many business-moguls in the West would be more altruistic and sacrificially less focused on profit if their Nation is in the situation of Nigeria. History has proven this already.

You simplistically boil everything down to "cash rules" yet you have a problem with someone who is rather well-exposed and only wishful that we follow a path more amenable to the development of a very poor, third world Nation where over 70% of the populace are said to live with acute poverty. Na wa OOO.

Look, at some stage, we must acknowledge the need to deploy solutions that work for the stage we are in currently as a Nation. Continuing to do otherwise only deepens our problems.
Where in my post did I insult him or where did you see a slur? Cash rules in Nigeria because it is almost a pure capitalist economy. As for the repeated 70% poverty rate I have no sympathy. Nigerians will rather commit suicide than challenge corrupt governments to do anything. We are the cause of our problems. We don't talk because we hope to steal one day and not be criticized. I don't think the points here have anything to do with the article. If you have an alternative solution, state it. You can also go around the people of the SW and gather the equivalent of 100 dollars from 30million people, float your own company and bid. Otherwise, we can hold our peace. We gave these people the means by allowing them to steal over the years so we should not complain if they try to as private individuals even though most have never worked for a company except to loot, buy our private assets. If foreigners come we complain, if thieves come we complain. Complain, complain, complain. No action. How many Nigerian's or youth's who are engineers have engaged their brains and started companies? How many are not doing yahoo yahoo instead of making a difference or trying to invent things and getting recognition or funding? We are all lazy workers, not employers or action takers holding our government accountable. The whole process is open to everyone so if you can bid please do so. Sooner or later these companies will go public, you can buy shares and have some influence if you can't bid.
Politics › Re: PHCN Assets: IBB, Abdulsalami, Tinubu Lead Bid Battle by 2mch(m): 1:47pm On Sep 07, 2012
Mowire: Question: What percentage of the respective companies belong to these individuals?

Would it have been wiser for Tinubu & any ACN state government to stay away while the control of power in their area of interest/influence is being sold off because they consider the govt (GEJ) selling incompetent?

I've read a post on this thread by a S/Easterner to the effect that the SE will should not let outsiders control power supply in their region. Should S/W allow such?
Are you minding them? They pretend to take a nationalistic view when politics of the SW comes into play, like their opinion counts in the region. But when it comes to the SE they threaten fire and brimstone. It is only a dullard that will blink at the comments.
eGuerrilla: No can do, Nigeria does not need an oligarchy at this stage of her development.
Well you can sit on NL and cry all day. If you don't have the means to bid, or buy any of the firms then your point is totally useless. I don't think you have ever run a company before. If you want to complain and make points then you better have an alternative solution. Otherwise your motives will be questioned. I will rather SWners take charge of their region. I don't care how we get there.Tinubu's companies have a track record. Do you?
Politics › Re: PHCN Assets: IBB, Abdulsalami, Tinubu Lead Bid Battle by 2mch(m): 12:44pm On Sep 07, 2012
Nothing wrong in this if they are capable of buying and can perform.Afterall, it is up for sale.Even if they critic power, they have every right to. They are citizens of Nigeria and not the president. No matter what you say of believe about Tinubu, his tax company is quite an efficient outfit for the Lagos State Government. Oando itself is not doing a bad job, so it is a Win-Win situation here. Their antecedents already speak for them, much as am not a fan of Tinubu. I daresay, they are much better at managing companies than anyone else qualified up there.Other regions though should be worried. grin. Their bidders are only notorious for stealing, no sucessful company history.

This guy is being yabbed because he is actually talking down on his wife, when he is not much better. Think about it, if he could speak of her this way, what will he say to her face. OP, don't kill a dream because you think you know it all and therefore a more quality human being. He has an ambituous wife which can be a good or bad thing. He didn't anticipate that she would have a dream considering her limitations. If his kids are smart, don't you think the wife is smart too? They spend more time with her.
Family › Re: My Wife Never Appreciates And Thereby Makes Me Fed Up by 2mch(m): 5:50am On Sep 06, 2012
This guy wants to kill me with laughter here. You married a virgin, you got what you wanted with all the things that come with it. Even though she's married, the bottom line is that she is and will be immature and also naïve. Now, I think you english itself is not the best either. Maybe the two of you can work on taking some courses together. You are not much better than her from your writing. You say she is intelligent so there is hope. A lot of guys send their wives to school, and sometimes those women even end up being richer than them. I suggest you make a deal with her. Tell her if she's able to focus and grow her business to a certain extent over the next 6months, you can both employ a sales girl while she enrols in school. Please support her dreams so you have a happy home with your kids. Who knows what this diamond in the rough can turn out to be. Also, you may want to seek advice from men who sent their wives to school. Goodluck and calm down. All is not lost. cheesy. And be proud of your wife. Don't you see GEJ? Patience even gives public speeches.

Any educated couple plans for their kids. If the woman is willing to take full responsibility for the child from birth to marriage, then I say tell him this and sign a contract. Otherwise, plan together.

21 Ways Rich People Think Differently
By Mandi Woodruff

World's richest woman Gina Rinehart is enduring a media firestorm over an article in which she takes the "jealous" middle class to task for "drinking, or smoking and socializing" rather than working to earn their own fortune.

4. Average people think the road to riches is paved with formal education. Rich people believe in acquiring specific knowledge.

"Many world-class performers have little formal education, and have amassed their wealth through the acquisition and subsequent sale of specific knowledge," he writes.

"Meanwhile, the masses are convinced that master's degrees and doctorates are the way to wealth, mostly because they are trapped in the linear line of thought that holds them back from higher levels of consciousness...The wealthy aren't interested in the means, only the end."

Part 2 Coming-up[/b]

15. Average people would rather be entertained than educated.
Rich people would rather be educated than entertained.

While the rich don't put much stock in furthering wealth through formal education, they appreciate the power of learning long after college is over, Siebold says.

"Walk into a wealthy person's home and one of the first things you'll see is an extensive library of books they've used to educate themselves on how to become more successful," he writes.

"The middle class reads novels, tabloids and entertainment magazines."

From Steve Siebold, author of "How Rich People Think."

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/21-ways-rich-people-think-differently.html?page=2
These two points are a contradiction. Formal education and self education are almost the same thing. Where we draw the line is thinking outside of the box. life is not textbook.I think being rich is when opportunity meets preparation, hardwork and a dream. Besides the richest woman in the world inherited her money. She just used the already made connections by her fore fathers to build on the wealth. The real people that deserve the praise are those dead men who made something out of nothing.

OP for an abuser you mistakenly married a woman with self esteem, and one that can actually fight. I bet you didn't see the punch coming. Now that you have attempted to beat and it failed miserably. You have to find another means to conflict resolution. Maybe you should try talking this time. Who know the outcome next time for you.lol. grin

sweetcheecks: Mhmmm realy, this hurry up and heal approach? She will at her own time.

@Uju, loove her too! Op needs to be clear here, abuse not tolerated. If then he says that he married a wrong wife, maybe he is right, he should have married a punching bag ooo.
maclatunji: @bolded, obviously. However, by not communicating, she is deepening the rift. You women are harping on physical abuse from the man, what about emotional abuse from the woman?

If the husband is uncomfortable enough to create this thread, it shows that there was something bothering him to take the highly-deplorable action of hitting her. It takes two to tango(especially in this case). If he didn't care about her, he would just go and meet his numerous "female admirers" who are waiting for him to slip for comfort(Yeah, virtually every man has them).

There is need for balance when things like this happen. Yes! Let him know he has done something wrong that you detest but don't think about using that as a weapon. You will end-up hurting yourself too. Don't cut-off your nose to spite your face.
fellis: mac, the man didn't say what the wife did before he decided to beat her how did you know that she pushed him to the wall? Please don't have the attitude of joining the side of the husband in every case regardless of whether he is right or wrong.
Mac you are muslim right? These two chicks know how to argue with you. You guys are arguing like husband and wife here.

Bukkyade: grin grin grin you want proof of a meeting that has not being held? A lunatic Agbero is on rampage on Nairaland. I'm happy that this discussion has made you to climb down from the imbecilic thinking that excerpts of FEC meetings are the exclusive preserve of the elite. It has also reduced you into a small I.mbecile which cannot differentiate between SEC and FEC. You may have also come to appreciate that you know virtually nothing about public affairs. Above all, I pity your paymasters. You are every inch a recruitment error.
Look liar, stop waiting for me to log out before you post. I said show me proof here of a fully televised FEC meeting by Channels tv as claimed. Not highlights. You are not very good at your job. I will also never degrade myself to be a lickspittle like you. It doesn't even understand. Come can you read or write? Well the quality of our govt tells it all about its hirelings.

Bukkyade: Typographical error indeed induced by so much ogogoro from a professional Agbero. It is difficult to talk sense into your intoxicated brain at the moment. Perhaps, I will let you cool off so that you can resume work at the iyana ipaja garage in just few minutes. Please Endeavour to vist your neighbor who has a TV so that you can watch Channels news at 10pm for an update on today's FEC Meeting.
I don't want an update or highlights. I want you to post proof here. Liar! No matter what they pay you I can better it don't worry. Ass kissing is not your strong point. You sound slow. grin.

Bukkyade: OLODO! It is not called SEC, it is FEC. Federal executive council meeting. It holds every Wednesday and forms the bulk of news in any media station worth it's salt. The more you try to defend your iilletracy, the more you expose it.
But you are shifting the goal post. That was a typographical error. Show me evidence that Channels shows the whole meeting. I have only ever seen the highlights. Illiterate market woman. Where is your proof? I will rather watch cable than select lies. Madam bukky is waiting for diezani to parade like a peacock tomorrow. grin
