As good as the feeding policy looks, but there are questions begging for answer. I don't think it's a sustainable policy, more so that it may not adequately go round the country at same time as the north may benefit more due to illiteracy and high government dependency. Each region or state of the country has different needs or challenges, for example the east is faced with erosion issues and the school feeding policy may not be top of their list. The government should emphasize on providing the environment and policies that will increase employment and entrepreneurship, which will financially empower the citizens to take care of their families. The country need to development infrastructures; electricity, roads, medical healthcare, affordable housing etc. |
May their soul in rest in peace. Amen Although we are not told how the accident occurred, considering the nature of our roads and the variables associated with driving, both seen and on unseen, we need to control our speed. So painful. |
musicwriter:It still does not make sense, a winner need to get a certain percentage of votes from all the states. Buhari could not get that in the past if not for Tinubu and his gang. Except the south does not include the south west. |
So someone is telling me that Edwin Clark, will stock up arms in Abuja and not in the Niger Delta where arms proliferation is high. For what reason will he do that? This shows how stupid the IG and his intelligence unit are. |
This borrowed fund will be looted or will go back to China by way of contracts to Chinese firms yet no commensurate infrastructure will be left behind while debt have been left for future generation to bear with after some other person worked hard to write off the country's debt. What is this government doing about Power & Steel, I don't mean actions on paper? |
Our governments can sign many mou as they like, they will not amount to sustainable development if infrastructures like power and steel industry is not in order. Also important is our government unstable policies which tend to kill the once that managed to stay. Will an average Nigerian afford the cars. I think government should concentrate on infrastructures and policies to boost internal production, then we won't beg foreign investors. They will come begging. See China for example. I remember when we use to have BEREC batteries, where are they today? All gone. |
This is by best take in the whole write The Aurus series and other newly unveiled products are obvious response from Russia to overcome western sanctions by reducing its dependence on imported goods and technology. Serious countries plan, our own is Saraki this Buhari that. Corruption this, anti-corruption that. Very soon even Ghana will leave us far behind and we will be bragging of our population. It is not about population or size, but quality of the mind of the people. Population will be an advantage when we can produce enough finished goods and able to sell to the world. Russia, good thinking good product |
PACT is not a good platform to identify the best candidate. They all have different ideologies. I never supported the arrangement. Let each test their popularity in the election. Just look at bubu, after some people collapsed there interest for him to emerge in 2015, what has happened to them, even Tinubu was side lined at time. If each decides to collapse their presidential ambition for one, have they also agreed the contribution each will bring into the government if they win? Will there be unity of purpose and ideology? A typical example is APC. |
Balet:God will judge everyone one of us including you. Is Wole Soyinka also an enemy to Nigeria? APC divided Nigerians by words and actions, PDP is only taken advantage of that, now that they are in opposition. Buhari's style of leadership is what is dividing Nigerians. Let a charismatic leader get to that position tomorrow and see how united Nigerians will be. |
JudasNaCarrot:I think Shehu Sani is a good man. This is a man who has the conscience to revealed what the senators earn as against the wishes of his colleagues. Even those who claim to be "progressives", who promised heaven and earth to the electorate could not even have the sincerity to demand for the reduction of their bloated income. The man speaks his mind, sometimes for his party and many times against his party, because some certain individuals made it practically impossible to have access to the president. Sani is not Sycophancy like many of those who go praising the president even when they know that he his not performing. |
ThierryJay:My thought as well. Somebody is not totally telling the truth. Let watch as things unfold on this issue. |
It is unfortunate that some people hinging on tribal sentiment could actual put in a defense for Mrs kemi Adeosun on this certificate issue. It would have been better for Buhari and his government to remain silent than for a spoke person of the president to utter this comments. This is not about an individual, it is about the law. If the government overlooks this, on what moral stand can they punish others? yet we want to be like the advance world but won't do what those societies do. And for those saying common N5000 offence. They forgot that forgery is a criminal offence, and once a person is convicted and serves a jail term it becomes difficult for that person to hold or contest elective position in government. I wish Buhari and APC well. |
buharitill2023:Can't you make your a comment without insults. Where in that write up was anybody insulted? Your comment confirms that some people are in perpetual auto mode. |
Until he is able to show by action that the life of every Nigerian is important then I will begin to believe him. Until he understands that Nepotism is also corruption then I will begin to believe him. Until he shows transparency in dealing with Nigerians then I will begin to believe him Until he follows the rule law, then I will believe him |
This Biafra thing will stop when we have equity and justice in the country. Presently, can anybody in this country hold government accountable for anything? The country is so messed up to the extent that the life of an average Nigerian is worth nothing either at home or abroad. A country where some state government are ready to go to court than rather comply to such simple laws as freedom of information bill. Our leadership at all level is just a fraud and we need to stand up and speak. |
For me it is Donald Duke or Kingsley Moghalu. How I wish this guys can work togther We need young and smart people with a vision to lead this country. Check out their profile and you will know why they are better. These are achievers in managing man and resources. I am done with all these old professional politicians. |
psychologist:Taking over what? |
You are the architect of your problems. The people of Imo state were hypnotized by your sugar coated tongue and the seemingly philanthropic gesture. They voted out Ohakim & PDP for you, hoping you will make Imo better. Instead of providing that needed direction and leadership, you started playing to the gallery to revealed you real intention in the first place, the ambition of the presidency. Then see you moved from APGA to APC, an unpopular party in the east " the party at the center". What has the politics of the "Party at the center" brought to Imo state? After embezzling funds in Imo state, you want to install your son in-law to cover up your track and you want people to clap for you. What about demolitions and reconstructions without proper planning or the ones that have remained uncompleted. I don't want to mention the salary & pension issues because that one is nationwide. 2019 election will be interesting. |
Metuh:This shows the lack of emotional intelligence in APC politician in the east. They have failed to utilize available occurrences in the east to their advantage, instead they have further pitched the people against Buhari. There is a way to manage these issues and get sympathy from the populace but Okorocha and others are actually doing otherwise. In this country we mostly vote by sentiment of tribe, religion and party or a combination of any of the three. |
Calers:Buhari will win because of the funds and machinery available to his disposal and not because he deserves it. He will win because other new contestant even though competent enough to lead do not have the wide reach. As for rigging, is under age voting not part of rigging? |
This is the kind of leaders some Nigerians find pleasure to support. We need to put our search light on individuals in other parties, It will be beautiful for democracy to have different new parties win positions. PDP and APC has failed this country and the painful thing about the whole thing is that it's the same old persons that have been there all his while, so how do we expect to achieve positive changes? |
FIFA is not Nigerian government. They follow laid down rules. So this government can be compelled to follow rules. Why allow this drama to fester for long if eventually we know we were going to accept FIFA position. Shame to this government and all the self destructive politics they have been playing with the lives and livelihood of Nigerians |
How does this improve governance in Edo states. What was their basis for joining the party in the first place? misplaced priority. |
The police and Nigerian government is just playing to the gallery and unwittingly attracting dislike in that part of the country. It won't harm any body if they head to the government house to registered there grievance and the governor or any other person receives them with a promise to convey their request to the FG. That is how it is done in advance world but no, our government will continue to apply same method of nation building that has never worked till date. Even though they are not exactly alike, Osinbajo went to the ND and had a dialogue with stakeholders and the result is the relate calmness we have over there today. That is the power dialogue. |
Fatherofdragons:The so called "hate" has always been there among tribes and religion, among governments. Do you think your neighboring countries or even the Asian or Caucasian investors love you so much, we all tolerate one another to live in peace. So emphasizing on word hate is just a waste of energy. |
What I have learned about the Igbos and the Yorubas is that all this talk of hatred is only online, and is fueled by few online miscreant which does not represent real life relationship between the two tribes. Frankly speaking how many times, or when have you heard or seen in Lagos or any part of the country where these two tribes are engaged in general physical fight against one another. We have seen the mile 12 and Ife fights with Hausas and even before this, the OPC fight with Hausas but have not had any with the Igbos, so what is all this hate squabble about. Shouldn't we in the south and Nigeria as whole be more concerned on how to achieve the best that we can be? I see mostly kids, who seek to be politically correct based on their subjective understand of national issues. Disrespect to any tribe won't bring you happiness. |
With the way APC and APC government has been acting lately, will Buhari peaceful handover power if defeated in the next election? I see this man putting this country into crisis with the conduct and release of election result in 2019. |
Rochas is doing everything possible to install Uche Nwosu as the next governor. |
It baffles me how selfish these leaders seem to forget history and how some youth of today also line up behind these leaders who continuously rape the constitution and at large the masses. This could be from the fact that our educational system is no longer producing thinking minds and in additional to surreptitious removal of history from our education, thereby leaving the current set of Nigerian without the knowledge of the past. We seem to forget the various political upheaval in the western house of assembly that lead to military incursion of the 60s and the general election crisis in same west in the early 80s that let to the second military takeover. These political leaders should mind their tongue and actions and stop heating up the polity because any action not inline with constitution may result into crisis and the masses will bear the pains. For your information, we have only 2 parties in Nigeria; the politicians and the people, only during election do the politicians seem to be selfishly divided. The youth should open their minds and think and stop supporting these politicians blindly. |
Since we don't give the right interviews, right questions at home, we will always demarket the country outside, as the foreign media don't have the time for rhetorics. It is Yes or no answer. |
AdesegunSanni89:There would have been harmony and understanding between the legislature and executive if the VP was the president. Democracy demands that you respect each other and dialogue on issues. You don't bring holier than thou , I and them attitude. That is the problem of Buhari right from inception. Always sitting on his high horse. You achieve alot without necessarily compromising your principles and that is what the VP is doing. |
wristbangle:It is not about Osinbajo but the the seat he occupies as the VP. It should not have to be his party or person. But for his intelligence, he commands good will every where he goes which is what APC needed and not the style of that man who loves speaking to foreign press. I did not mention any body's name. |
