PoliticsRe: RUGA: Association Of Pig Farmers Writes Buhari, Demand “pig Colony” by 3Ceagle(m): 1:37pm On Jul 08, 2019
AbuuBilaal:
Firstly, comparing pigs to cows is an erroneous comparison. Cows are eating by virtually everybody in the country. I do not know any tribe that doesn't eat beef. Rather, all other meat sources only supplement beef.

Secondly, it's a simple issue. Fulanis should take their cattle to the north and let's see who will lose more. Youruba man that can't even manage a dozen goats, how will he get meat for his wedding, naming and other ceremonies.

Thirdly, cattle is reared and grazed but pigs are confined. Until pigs are reared like cattle, there's no need for a 'puga' scheme.

Fourthly, ruga created to solve a societal nuisance. Meaning that it was born out of necessity. Farmers and cattle owners are struggling for scare resources - green pasture and land - but this isn't the case with piggery.

In summary, we should all try to be objective and realistic. A good and peaceful Nigeria will benefit us all. Let's not join hands with trouble makers and agents of anarchy.

I rest my case.
Let the "Solution" start in the north first. What is so difficult about starting it in the north, abi something else dey inside? It's very alarming that some people don't see the bigger picture. This is how we hastily draw up policies and end up they way we are today. Did the government discuss this in details with our people? What is wrong with ranching? If ownership of land is vested on the state, will it be wrong for this people
to come together and lease land from the state government. Mind you, you can be in the city but there are a lot of peasants farmers who are at the hinterland and depend on this lands for subsistence farming, They may end up becoming tenant in their land. I believe in natural integration just as the people in the south have lived for so many years without crisis and not forced integration using the state powers.

Bhol28:
I believe we shouldnt always be antagonists of govt policies aimed at bringing solution to unnecessary killings of human beings in the land.Herdsmen/Farmers crisis didnt just start during pmb's tennure. What some of us fail to realise is that job opportunities will definitely be created in any area a well run modern livestock rearing settlement is located. vet doctors etc will benefit. Some naive state governors who suppose to think of how it can boost their state revenue and negotiate with FG are politicising the issue.Yet none of them can profer any solution to the crisis.
I like your positive vibe but Nigeria is not a normal country, where positiveness only has produces result, otherwise we will not be complaining of electricity, roads, and other essential of life. We are yet to determine how we want to live together as a united people, we don't even know our population. The Fulani people at the center of the attrition, have you taken a background check on them? What is their antecedent? why were they chased away in Ghana, CAR, some other countries in Africa and even Guinea where they are indigenous to how have they been living with other tribes? Do we have control over our borders? When an investor come to invest in a company do know that background check is done on the investor?. Between north and south based on poverty index, who do you think need the Ruga scheme? North abi. Let the north concentrate on agriculture and south manufacturing. Let North do their RUGA and we in south will go with ranching. It simple.

All over west africa, they have dealt with the fulani problem.
Fulanis are now docile in most parts of west africa.

These barbarians now come here and take advantage of a serious flaw in our national composition to harass the real and bonafide Nigerians.
But how many of the APC and the president supporters can see beyond their nose. This people are a huge threat to the project called Nigeria. If the country burns it will be on everybody. It is important to let all the selfish and power drunk leaders in the south know that they and their family members to the last one shall not live if they put this country into crisis. Let Tinubu, Amaechi and Ngige and others keep courting trouble. They want us to eliminate our traditions and culture and accept fulani's

In as much as this Call is a welcome development from Nnia Nwodo, I must state that Nnia Nwodo have just confirmed his foolishness and has proven Nnamdi Kanu to be wiser and smarter than him claiming to be an elder because Nnamdi Kanu saw a long time ego what he couldn't see until few days ego. He just called for self defense for the Igbo speaking Biafrans, the same call Nnamdi Kanu made and they invaded his house in a bid to kill him.

I want use this opportunity to send unmistakable message to the federal government of the zoo and the entire Fulani tribe that we the the Biafrans are not shaking even one bit over their cowardice gra gra threats, we're pleading with them to please hasting their plans against us because somebody like me, I'm in a hurry to beginning to slaughter all the planted Fulani weeds in different corners of Biafra land. We will kill them and kill their charms that's giving them moral to act as if they can stand us one on one on a Neutral ground. Nomadic Bastards.
Please tone down your comment. We in the south cannot afford to be rash in our comment. However, we should be ready for any eventuality.
PoliticsRe: Ruga Ultimatum: We Will Hold Northern Governors Responsible – Ohanaeze by 3Ceagle(m): 9:59am On Jul 05, 2019
Benekruku:
If I want to be fair and go by the recommendations of those that antagonised my humble and honourable self when I was in support of RUGA,

I will clearly state that the Ultimatum is well deserved. Many quoted me on Nairaland saying "RUGA should be done up North ONLY". Fine! And now they are also telling you to go trade in your region. Anybody that needs your product would come and buy in your region.

I think its fair with all honesty. If a Fulani or Hausa man is limited to trade in certain parts of the country, then I think other tribes should be limited to trading in there own region too.

I feel does that came for head when I was supporting RUGA can now find a better resolution to the impending doom that stares at us at present.

Did you really read the reaction of OYC. They recognized the right of every Nigerian to trade where ever in the country but it is the method that is the issue. You cannot practice your trade to the detriment of others. They accepted ranching as a solution but not forcefully acquiring indigenous peoples land by the Federal government. Do you also accept that those in the villages depend on the land to survive? Do you accept that Fulani or other tribe's cattle or livestock business is a private business? Are you aware that state have control over the use of their land space? Be circumspect before you make your comment.

The English people call it "Tit for Tat"
Warri people call it "Do me, I do you"
Men call it "An eye for an eye"

And all those, for political reason have kept quite. The Ameachi's, Tinubus's and Ngige have all been scammed by Buhari. A man who is yet to draw up a workable blue print to develop the Niger Delta is ready to not only spend money generated from the ND to finance private business but also subtle claim of ancestral land for his brothers. Has any of this so called leaders in the south considered what this proposal will result to in the next 50-100 yrs?
PoliticsRe: Garba Shehu Contradicts Osinbajo On Ruga Settlements - Punch by 3Ceagle(m): 12:24am On Jul 03, 2019
Dpharisee:
Ruga is to wandering Fulanis what Palestine is to wandering Jews who needed a homeland to call their own after the holocaust that occurred during WWII in 1945.

It was obvious to the scattered Jews that they needed a place to call home and adopted Palestine using historical and biblical contexts.

All Jews all over the world were encouraged to migrate to Palestine which is now Israel where settlements similar to Ruga was created for them in 1945 to live side by side with the Palestinian Arabs, overtime this did not go down well with Palestinians and thus triggered the 1948 Palestine war which was won by Isreal thereby using that opportunity to grab more land from the Palestinians till date.
Same template is about to be used in Nigeria. Let those who have ear hear. Even in Guinea where this people came from, they are not allowed to rule. Let the Tinubu's and Osinbajo's of this world and the deceitful politicians keep fraternizing with the snaky Buhari for power quest. When trouble starts, let them know that we will all die here including there family member and bounty will place on the head of any one who escapes. They seem to have forgotten history; the political crises in the west, which resulted to loss of lives and properties and also the Nigerian civil war.
PoliticsRe: Ruga Settlement Is To Resolve Farmer/Herder Conflicts - Presidency by 3Ceagle(m): 11:25pm On Jun 30, 2019
Has it occurred to us why the first democratic period was able to produce great result. Reason is that each region was able focus on the need and aspiration of their people. Therefore each developed at their own pace. No matter how we stand on one Nigeria, every state should decided what they want and not one individual sitting in Aso rock, telling all Nigeria what to do. Let the government invest the said money in modern ranching in the North and not try to force this proposal on people of other region. We have not gotten to that level of tolerance in this country and may never get to it with this type of president.

Thanks bud, there’re a lot of kids on nairaland, every government worldwide inherits debts, including the “almighty” usa. This is not even “proper” debts (money borrowed), it’s court judgements against the state which can be appealed up to the Supreme Court. Can someone tell Emeka Ihedioha and his team to stop witch hunting and focus on the task of governance.
Remember that Okorocha breached some of the contracts entered by Ohakim, in which the contractors had made considerable execution. You can appeal when you have merit to do that. So why did Okorocha not appeal those judgement? was he stockpiling them for a new person? Emeka should do a good health check of the state financial status and take proactive action to manage the crisis and also create development across the state.

I have no problems with your laws, but your country is a signatory to ECOWAS treaty on free trade. I guess other west African countries who don't have such laws could also put down such laws and restrict others too, I think that will make a better West Africa. I once lived with a Ghanaian who even had the privilege doing some services for one of state in the east. Do you think he will totally agree with you?

The way the igbos play politics is irritating and you expect positions. The fact you don't like a preferred candidate doesn't mean you'll insult him just to prove a point or you think the whole region don't know or see what's going on? You guys should check yourselves.
I've seen some disgusting comments here about Buhari, some people will openly say even if Buhari channel all the resources to South East or bring development they'll still vote him out.
If you find yourself in that position I don't think you'll take such region serious politics is not played with Hatred.

The truth is that our country is bereft of quality leaders. OUK is a huge joke. No wonder Nigeria continue to struggle while other countries that understand what nationalism and democracy is all about is moving forward. I am beginning to believe that the black race is incapable of leading in the continent. We need another colonisation may be we will understand what freedom and self rule is. Instead of tackling issue of power, health, education, etc. This idiot is busy inciting hatred, if east did not vote Buhari, how then did he meet the statutory vote requirement from the region? How did he OUK get to senate? When the likes of okorocha should have known how to go with the people choice and not become emperor in a democracy. I don't think we are ready to move forward as country.

Land grabbing. The Fulanis want a place to call home in Nigeria and they are systematically wiping out other ethnic nationalities especially Christians. Buhari, elrufai and Co knows what's up. It's a long term plan and buhari's presidency is just an opportunity to actualize this.
You have just hit the point. Many of the so called enlightened ones fail to realized this or pretend that it cannot happen. while it is happening under their nose they prefer to live in denial. What they don't understand is that things like this take time to actualized. Imo state government should publish the names of contractors used by past administration and the contract executed, including contract sum. Then people will see the best of Okorocha. A government without a procurement or due diligence unit. I am very sure there will we be no records or full details of the contracts. Ihedioha should better apply due diligence in whatever he does, otherwise Imo people and EFCC will wait for him in the next election.

The funny thing about the reactions in this thread is the blatant hypocrisy...

When GEJ did exactly the same thing which Rochas did (i.e. converting Polys to Unis - a.k.a name change), I'm sure most of the people blasting Rochas here were celebrating GEJ for establishing 12 new universities and calling it an achievment. Now tables have turned to someone they love to hate and they are here hailing Ihedioha. grin
Take a second look at the places this was done by GEJ, most of the states did not have FEDERAL universities. Let be objective about this, what may be acceptable in one instance may not be for another. Imo state already has lots of institution begging for attention which he Okorocha did nothing about. Check out Lagos state with all it Revenue capacity, what number of state universities and institutions does it have? Secondly, nobody hates Okorocha but his antics. He was loved and overwhelmingly voted into power in his first term but loosed focus when he started playing party politics in his 2nd term instead of focusing on developing Imo state.

If Okorocha was sincere to the people of Imo state, he would have been concerned in proper management and equipment of the existing schools. Did he try to upgrade the existing infrastructure in the school to compete with other similar school world wide? The problem is not in name but in the adequate investment. What is the ranking of the universities and polytechnics in Imo state before he became governor and what is there ranking now in Nigeria.Have the polytechnics achieved the objectives for which they were set up? We should discourage cosmetic solution like name changing, motivated by insincere politics and focus on delivering quality education to Imolites and Nigerians.

This is the more reason we should put league matches on television but with this kind of attitude sponsors will not be encouraged to put in their money in the league. What this players don't know is that when the league becomes marketable, it will better their income and project them to the world. I am surprised that a veteran player like Rabiu Alli who is very much experienced in the league could behave like this. I wonder what handover note Emeka is looking for, looking at how Okorocha governed Imo state like an emperor, Ihedioha is on his own.
Since Okorocha government did not render support to the Transition committee, I expect Emeka to conduct a thorough forensic audit on Imo state asset and financial status but I doubt if he will be sincere and accountable in his own government. I won't be surprised if Emeka himself fail to deliver good governance.
