The truth is that our country is bereft of quality leaders. OUK is a huge joke. No wonder Nigeria continue to struggle while other countries that understand what nationalism and democracy is all about is moving forward. I am beginning to believe that the black race is incapable of leading in the continent. We need another colonisation may be we will understand what freedom and self rule is. Instead of tackling issue of power, health, education, etc. This idiot is busy inciting hatred, if east did not vote Buhari, how then did he meet the statutory vote requirement from the region? How did he OUK get to senate? When the likes of okorocha should have known how to go with the people choice and not become emperor in a democracy. I don't think we are ready to move forward as country. |
lilfreezy:You have just hit the point. Many of the so called enlightened ones fail to realized this or pretend that it cannot happen. while it is happening under their nose they prefer to live in denial. What they don't understand is that things like this take time to actualized. The so called educated ones are even the ones providing different permutation; It's APC,PDP politices, no it is communal clashes, no it is inter religious, while people are been lost in the most cruel-some manner, just look at those images and tell me if Mr President does not deserve impeachment. What is the primary responsibility of a government, why do we relinquish of our right to the sovereign government? Does one of the primary responsibility of the president include protection of lives and properties? Even the military is culpable. Should we all fall back to our tribal enclaves to protect our live and our future generations. Sometimes I want believe that the IPOB are not totally wrong in pursuing their goal. |
Did the president get his required number from the electorate in the East? Will he have been president with the meeting the requirement? Africa and Nigeria in particular should embraced leadership devoid of ethno-political sentiment. |
muykem:Check out the comment before yours, you are the first to mention a tribe here. Does it tell you anything? |
The evil in this country now is unprecedented. Everything narrows to bad leadership. That people can commit crime a easily get away from it. No equity, no fairness, no Justice but we want peace. Okay now. |
No matter how I high, there is always a life after political positions. I think it is time for him to write a book about about himself and the service to Nigeria. There he can give answer to all the allegations against him now that all his accusers are alive. |
Juliusmalema:I reserve my comment. Time will tell who he is. |
I hail Nigerian politics. Even his own beloved Apc are not comfortable with his ambition. I thought APC and their apologist here loves him so dearly. Let the sittings begin. We will surely see dramas. This country is a big joke. |
Imo state government should publish the names of contractors used by past administration and the contract executed, including contract sum. Then people will see the best of Okorocha. A government without a procurement or due diligence unit. I am very sure there will we be no records or full details of the contracts. Ihedioha should better apply due diligence in whatever he does, otherwise Imo people and EFCC will wait for him in the next election. |
These blood thirsty guys are becoming bold and advancing towards the south and our so called political leaders a making deals at our expense. It is only a foolish man that will chop of his nose to spite his face. The elites in the East are too concerned about their investment across Nigeria to fight for a equity and justice, while their counterpart in the West are divided between following Tinubu and the Elders (Socio-cultural groups), leaving the common confused and a pawn. This marauders knows our weakness and are exploiting it adequately. |
obailala:Take a second look at the places this was done by GEJ, most of the states did not have FEDERAL universities. Let be objective about this, what may be acceptable in one instance may not be for another. Imo state already has lots of institution begging for attention which he Okorocha did nothing about. Check out Lagos state with all it Revenue capacity, what number of state universities and institutions does it have? Secondly, nobody hates Okorocha but his antics. He was loved and overwhelmingly voted into power in his first term but loosed focus when he started playing party politics in his 2nd term instead of focusing on developing Imo state. |
If Okorocha was sincere to the people of Imo state, he would have been concerned in proper management and equipment of the existing schools. Did he try to upgrade the existing infrastructure in the school to compete with other similar school world wide? The problem is not in name but in the adequate investment. What is the ranking of the universities and polytechnics in Imo state before he became governor and what is there ranking now in Nigeria.Have the polytechnics achieved the objectives for which they were set up? We should discourage cosmetic solution like name changing, motivated by insincere politics and focus on delivering quality education to Imolites and Nigerians. |
I await to see what the NPFL organizers will do about this. This is the more reason we should put league matches on television but with this kind of attitude sponsors will not be encouraged to put in their money in the league. What this players don't know is that when the league becomes marketable, it will better their income and project them to the world. I am surprised that a veteran player like Rabiu Alli who is very much experienced in the league could behave like this. No wonder with his great talent his only able to continue with only Kano Pillars abi Musa Ahmed and Abdullahi Shehu no be from the north? |
AmazingELixir:He brought all these to himself. Okorocha has no love for Imo people. Whom the gods has chosen to destroy, they first make deaf. He was warned but he preferred to listen to sycophants. I wonder what handover note Emeka is looking for, looking at how Okorocha governed Imo state like an emperor, Ihedioha is on his own. Since Okorocha government did not render support to the Transition committee, I expect Emeka to conduct a thorough forensic audit on Imo state asset and financial status but I doubt if he will be sincere and accountable in his own government. I won't be surprised if Emeka himself fail to deliver good governance. |
Too sad. Spanish football and the world have lost a very good player. RIP to one of the Arsenal unbeatable squad member. |
Something is wrong about this news. I don't think this is the most important need of Imo people right now. |
Hotzone:Nothing is guaranteed. After all Okorocha was also voted for to come into power by Owerri zone. If the so called "Mbaise man" messes up he will also be voted out. No sentiment. |
Sometime in March when I was shown the stadium, I could not believe that a a playing pitch is in that location let alone a stadium. On behalf of the Imo people we thank Rochas Okorocha for his self adulated stewardship and bid good bye and for the incoming governor, if you mess up be rest assured that you will be thrown out. |
Okorocha must have cancelled the contract when his administration came in without considering the implication. lack of continuity in government policies is one of the biggest problems of governance in this part of the world. Everybody want to award contract of his own and would not finish most before leaving office. Imo state government should pay up.period. |
Ihedioha should better perform otherwise same faith that befell Okorocha will visit him. This not the time for trading accusations. When he gets into the seat of government I expect him to work with brilliant minds across the state. And should have developmental plan for new towns like in Ngor Okpala and expanding the old one in Orlu and Okigwe. Our youths need to be engaged economically. |
Just wondering why the bickering on who won or did not. If Okorocha had giving Imo state an inspiring leadership and delivered on the support he got initially, will Imo people have been against him and anything that comes from him? We want a change and we have gotten it. What many people on this platform is missing out is that many factors worked against Nwosu/APC and it would have taken a missive rigging for AA or APC to win. Now that Emeka has won, will he listen to the voice of wisdom and focus on bringing good leadership to Imo state as a whole and leave party politics and over ambition aside. If he messes up and fail to redeem himself and his Mbaise clan, we will gladly show him the way out. For those who don't know, it is not about party, Uzodinma and Ararume have moral issues around them and do not represent what generality of Imo people will accept, therefore their candidature was already a loss to their parties coming from party primaries. Emeka seem the best among the candidates in terms of experience, but time will tell. |
Madam what have you and your like done about the bogus salary and allowances of our legislators. Have your been in the fore front of any reforms in the house? Yet they will regard themselves as progressives. Well it your right to desire and reach your goals. Let all wait and see what post Saraki will do to the senate, because the man has been blamed by your (APC) supporters for every legislative failure. |
Politics of WIN AT ALL COST. Can't we have different parties holding down elective positions across the country? Must one party have it all? This is what you get when service to the people is not the primary reason for desiring leadership position. |
Phonix1234:It is as simple as that. It is not about APC or PDP or even APGA and that is how it should be.If you give inspiring leadership you stay otherwise you will be voted out. |
StOla:Take look at all the candidates thrown up by APC across the SE and SS are they better than the others, especially when they have been jumping from one party to the other. There is no one single truth about our political system other than the truth of performance. If you followed the Imo state primaries to date, you will notice that the best hands/technocrats have been sacrificed for the these reaming gladiators, who in a good day will not get vote from many reasonable voters. You will even notice that APGA formed in the east have only one state, Anambra. |
StOla:First, know that Imo people will vote personality and not party otherwise he Okorocha would not have won second term, so please keep party sentiment away from Imo state. Secondly what project has Imo people got from aligning to the center? If he had allowed transparency and allowed the people to throw up candidate from the party platform without too much vested interest, don't you think that APC would have been in better position to win this Guber election? Has Okorocha ever complied to political agreements? a man who was busy changing deputies like he is changes cloths. In a normal nation or system, any inspiring Governor does not need to be in same party with the president to perform. Your comment above is the reason we are retrogressing as a country. |
Guzel:But Owerri people voted for Okorocha in 2011 and 2015, who is even a better known and appreciated individual than Uche Nwosu. What is Uche's pedigree or achievement other than being the Son In-law to Okorocha. |
The voice of the people is the voice of God say our people and they have said to Okorocha and his Stooge "MENE, MENE, TEKEL" let his prophets interpret to him. |
When a man is so desperate to cover his tracks, he commits more blunders in the process. Okorocha uses his oratory and APC sentiment to attract support from some gullible people across the country. A man full of self aggrandizement, who never subject him self to due process. We all await May 29, when a new government will be sworn in and people will see the financial atrocities committed by this man, who for some is the only Igbo man worthy of Nigerian Presidency. |
A society that don't ask questions will always act on impulse before thinking or investigate. Does believe in Juju make Africans savages and barbarians? |
Politicians and their selfish interest. Whoever among the politicians in Akwa Ibom importing thugs to the state must be very unpopular among his people otherwise why get those foolish ones outside the state. I want to see how Buhari and his anti-corruption fight will deal with all the idiot caught in election malpractices. |
9jvirgin:Those bandits up north don't have compassion and value for life. Let change the system of governance to the benefit of all but their leaders will continue to resist. One part of my heart feel for this people but another part of me that persevere the suffering and hopelessness pervading this country want to feel indifferent. Thank God that she survived but we can't continue living on the edge as a nation. This country must develop values and the type of democracy that will benefit all the people and accelerate development in all human endeavor. God save us all. |
