Politics / Re: God Will Build Nigeria Through President Tinubu — Kumuyi by 9gerian: 5:44am On Aug 23, 2023 |
Are you not aware of the attempt to restructure the country even if gradual? And do you see any sign of any Islamization agenda (even if some people in a certain region may want it). Did PMB not insist on installing Shariah in Nigeria in a 2001 publication? Did he eventually achieve it after emerging president? Nigeria is one of the most religiously diverse nations on earth, and except genocide of unprecedented proportions is unleashed, those with religious agenda labor and waste valuable but in vain. However, presidential candidates continue to say and do things to form alliances and win elections (even Obi with his religious war call remember). Now tell us what you would like Pastor Kumuyi to say or pray with his congregation at this time of global and local economic hardships. Also tell us why other regions diluted their votes while only the southeast voted along tribal lines. And please don’t reference Obasanjo because he was clearly not the Yoruba choice during the 1999 election. It is a political fact that Igbos have always been anti-Yoruba since 1959 elections. Research it. It is okay if most Igbo people’s choice is to support their own as most discerning minds have come to realize but quit gaslighting others for having a contrary view or countering and balancing your tribal onslaughts with the hope that they would keep quiet. As you may have noticed that time has since passed especially with the barrage of attacks on Yorubas who dared to have a contrary opinion to the Igbo agenda. Is Atiku not fighting his political battle smartly without bringing tribe into the matter? Or doesn’t Atiku have his own people supporting him? Why are his people not gaslighting and insulting and denigrating everyone that says anything positive about Tinubu’s government? Or you think Atiku is foolish by avoiding making the whole issue tribal like igbos are doing with Obi? Yorubas have come to the conclusion that even though Adekunle Fajuyi (a Yoruba) died trying to protect General Aguiyi Ironsi (an Igbo) but it has never mattered to igbos. Recently, a lot of Yorubas voted for Obi (as they did Atiku) but it still isn’t enough to most igbos who find it convenient labeling Yorubas as bigots. This is from the same mostly Igbo people that stated that they would prefer a Fulani president to succeed Buhari if they can’t get it. Interestingly, the North has steered clear of such an approach. Elections have come and gone. If Obi has issues with the election results, let him pursue it against Tinubu and recover the mandate as Atiku is doing, if truly it was stolen. Stop making it a mainly Igbo issue, only to turn around and attack Yorubas as being tribalist anytime some of them say things that happen to favor their own. Finally leave Pastor Kumuyi to pray and encourage his congregation as he deems fit. All peoples cannot all have the same approach or views on the same topic. That is why we are humans with God-given IQs to see things from different perspectives and varying degrees. Shalom. Ykc2: 1 Like 1 Share |

True Men of God are known to give people hope using the word of God to encourage them. People like Pastor Kumuyi are actually apolitical, and therefore hardly speak except there is some clear conviction about the direction of the country. The fact that he has chosen to speak is perhaps because he has such a conviction that something is in the offing in spite of the current economic turbulence. His opinion- that he is entitled to without fear or favor. However, it appears that some people prefer that Nigeria rather burns than for any other president to turn things around if not their favorite. In fact some of our brothers, mostly from the southeast, declared very early before the election season that they would prefer another Fulani to rule Nigeria than for a Yoruba (southerner) to be president. This was their way of persuading the Yoruba block to support them or risk another Fulani president. Are you one of such people? And is it your interest to see the nation doomed and miserable so that you can gloat and score some cheap political points about why your candidate is the best and most capable even if available data doesn’t support such an assertion? PS This is not in anyway saying that the current government is getting everything right, but it is important to put things in proper perspective for some of the bold/necessary moves being undertaken and how. successmatters: 7 Likes |

Politics / Re: Justice Flora Ngozi Azinge: A SAN Is Trying To Bribe Me by 9gerian: 9:27pm On Aug 16, 2023 |
Wrong to stereotype a whole tribe, but do you know her statement has turned all other justices in that court to suspects for bribe taking considering her weighty allegations that bribes have been flying around? That is a serious indictment and she has to do better than just mere allegations or casting aspersions against fellow justices. This is why she would equally be profiled as identifying with a particular political block and tribe- which she could have avoided by maintaining finesse and professionalism while remaining firm (and not compromising). Dear Justice, kindly call out the SAN with some evidence with your full chest. That’s better than casting aspersions on your fellow Justices and judicial workers as though you are the only honest justice in that court. You could have setup a string operation in conjunction with law enforcement to nail the SAN to serve as proper deterrent instead of just grandstanding and coming across as pandering to a particular block? How do we verify that a SAN actually approached you with bribe? fergie001: |

That is how crime grows. They try once, get away with it and stage a bigger come back the next time. If the airport authorities do not make good examples with those caught (such as a shoot at sight, where prisoners are hardly taken), then it becomes a bigger and never ending problem. A better approach would be to get the desired result quietly and thereafter explain how the job got done. This method of coming belatedly to tell us what you want to do is actually ridiculous, suggesting a lack of understanding or preparation. Politics / Re: Yorubas Are Not Our Problem - Benjamin Kalu by 9gerian: 7:22pm On Jul 20, 2023 |
At least Lagos is not igboland and may be excused especially since the attacks were not widespread, continuous or left unchecked. In contrast, can you explain the bigger, continuous and carnage-degree of attacks by igbos on fellow Igbos and others in igbo land, and the ridiculous scenario where more Igbos continue to show more concern about Lagos where they enjoy far more safety than Igboland where their safety is almost completely eroded? That is what the deputy speaker Benjamin Kalu is trying to make you igbos see. But I guess that must be difficult because igbos can’t claim to be victims of fellow igbos as it doesn’t fit the victim or marginalization mentality/narratives unlike when they dwell on Lagos where the so called xenophobia is more political, micro and mostly restricted in its entirety. That is why most Igbo leaders are being called out repeatedly (including Obi) for jumping on narratives that portray victimization of igbos by others (even where insignificant) than dwell on bigger carnages or grave injustices being perpetrated by some igbos against entire Igbo race right in igboland. That there is the height of hypocrisy! Counter this with facts, if any. DeadCountry: |

Politics / Re: IPMAN Gives Reasons For Increase In Fuel Pump Price To ₦617 Per Litre by 9gerian: 12:50pm On Jul 18, 2023 |
True to an extent especially since he has demonstrated a measure of frugality that is highly needed. However, managing the federal government is a different ball game talk is free (not just cheap). Obi may likely suffer complaints about paucity and unavailability of funds, which may overwhelm him eventually. Intentions are not enough. You need the skill on income generation through public private partnerships, and the foreign policy directions for a reviving an ailing (and not container) economy. Tinubu is currently handling the country like a CEO or CFO who knows the nation needs to survive by staying liquid and profitable first to stabilize the economy before staff welfare takes priority. Hard choice but necessary. Else, the Sri Lanka situation happens suddenly. mrdharkchild: 1 Like |

PBT is making the biggest mistake if he does not bring Dangote refinery supplies into the distribution mix in July as was promised. It will be the biggest mistake imo. The hawks are already gathering and trying to create a racket as usual. Their target is to drive the price up as much as possible to create a price fixing cartel well before Dangote comes on board. This is because Dangote being a beneficiary will conform with their price structure. Left to be seen… nairalandkachy1: 6 Likes |
Politics / Re: Samuel Ajayi And Dr Bankole Said If Tinubu Is Disqualified By The Tribunal by 9gerian: 10:48am On Jul 18, 2023 |
Wait. I do not think what is meant is the literal or instantaneous anarchy but the anarchy of having future presidential aspirants (who do not have the required spread anticipated by the constitution) going ahead to play spoiler by simply gate keeping the FCT to prevent a winner from being declared. I mean look at Kwankwaso in Kano and project same in Abuja. This is the anarchy that I think is being referred to because once it is established that FTC is a must for an elected winner to be declared, it becomes a needless and undue battle ground. It is anybody’s guess how far the politicians can go to get the required 25%. Plus it is no longer entirely the type of democracy that is intended, since some votes are far weightier (being half of the mandate of the entire votes cast to be president) than the general populace’s. Surely a recipe for imbalance and future conflicts. This follows a similar pattern of how the unitary system of government became the order of the day in Nigeria, when some people (General Aguiyi Ironsi, Nwafor Orizu, Nnamdi Azikiwe) sensing some initial advantage pushed and got every region unified under a unitary military government thinking their advantage will remain in perpetuity. Guess what? Things changed, and drastically too. Today, people from the old Eastern Region leaders that established and supported the unitary system claim to be the most affected even if other peoples disagree. After all, the western region was clearly ahead of other regions before the regional system was supplanted. Nonetheless, if we eventually agree that 25% in Abuja is to be made sacrosanct, let’s all agree and be guided so that no one claims victimization tomorrow when it is time to face the new monster of discrimination that may have been clearly avoidable from the very start. Finally, other grounds for cancellation or disqualification are welcome if so proven in court, but not this discriminatory one! Shalom! LagosFirstSon: |
