Surely there was a print out done somewhere. She just needs to clarify where and the rest would be investigated. I think the police can obtain that information from her if they invite and question her. At least she’s 19, and can therefore be invited and questioned to get the source of the fake document. renderme: 1 Like |
Education / Re: After having Said And Done, I Realized I Got 249 - Mmesoma Ejikeme by 9gerian: 7:23am On Jul 06, 2023 |
Could be finance sometimes. This may explain why she needed the scholarship, which her actual score 249 may not get her. A really sad turn of events for her and her family because instead of gaining admission with her actual score, she’s going to lose years of gainful study and possibly get derailed if much care is not taken. 9jatriot: |

Wasn’t the identity already disclosed, only for JAMB to confirm whether her score as the highest on the request of Anambra State Government? Whoever was the first to declare her as the highest scorer is to blame for whatever backlash that came from the jamb confirmation of her results. The media scouts for news and would easily crucify her in lieu of the celebration she got earlier. Those guys just wanna sell news regardless of who’s affected. Lutherblaq: 1 Like |

Education / Re: Anambra UTME Fraud: ‘Let The Poor Breathe’, Innoson Motors’ Tells JAMB by 9gerian: 10:13am On Jul 03, 2023 |
This is possible and can easily be verified. Was the young lady sent a text message detailing her result as 362? If yes, then I agree with Innoson that the girl should not be victimized. But if indeed her result indicated 246 or something else, then the matter should be investigated to determine who forged what, including those that were complicit in the forgery. Something more sinister may be going on other than what is known so far. igwebuike01: 1 Like |
Foreign Affairs / Re: US Supreme Court: Businesses Can Discriminate Against Gays For Religious Reasons by 9gerian: 5:33pm On Jul 01, 2023 |
Except freedom of expression means otherwise, there is no way people who decide to take up issues of a service provider or product developer with the authorities would not be seen as victimization. Refer to the case in the link where a baker had to get to the Supreme Court before narrowly asserting his rights to engage or not engage a customer’s customization requirements in a free market. These are the precedents that are invigorating more religious individuals to assert their rights early before evil get called good, and good gets called evil, at least according to their beliefs. Also notice that a regular purchase will not be affected as the service provider has no way of knowing who buys his generic products. The issue is when customization is required. And like every creative, the imagination and intellectual capacity of the provider is engaged to produce the desired results. But if the religious beliefs of the provider will be impacted, perhaps even affecting his mental health, then he can decline to offer that extra service of customization. This is where the right to engage or not engage is solely the provider’s. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2018/06/04/supreme-court-rules-against-gay-wedding-exemptions/1052989001/ LordReed: 2 Likes

Foreign Affairs / Re: US Supreme Court: Businesses Can Discriminate Against Gays For Religious Reasons by 9gerian: 3:52pm On Jul 01, 2023 |
Why not state the discrimination clearly here. I offer a service that involves creatives, which means I have to customize the client’s needs. However, because some clients wish to force an agenda down the throat of others, they specifically target law abiding citizens who are religious keeping to their faith, which in turn benefits the society. These clients who can be described as unusual choose to seek out such religious individuals so as to arm twist them into making creatives that go against their conscience and believes. This is while these unusual clients could have simply searched out members of their own unusual beliefs and sexual leanings or get a neutral provider to offer their cravings and sexual beliefs and orientation. Alternatively, if the service provider contacted is unbothered, then there is no issues. But as long as they are bothered, and maybe even shaken by the request, then they should be able to decline giving the service, and left alone for good, while other willing service providers are sought as an alternative. Now, can you show me or at least demonstrate how this discrimination you speak of becomes a topic. On the contrary the whole episode speaks to an attempt to victimize religious individuals who just want to be left alone in their own space and within their own rights, especially in a free market environment. In a way, yes, especially when it involves matters that connotes eternal damnation as have been demonstrated by the Bible in the Sodom and Gomorrah story. The service provider will be traumatized if he goes ahead, hence there is no need to force it. Find another provider. LordReed: |

Yeah. Thank God he (Trump) was able to appoint some conservatives to the Supreme Court of the US in spite of the heavy backlash. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_federal_judges_appointed_by_Donald_Trump#:~:text=Trump%20with%20his%20first%20Supreme,Court%20nominee%2C%20Amy%20Coney%20Barrett. Sadly humility and the respect for others’ choices doesn’t work with them. barojana: |

Politics / Re: One Month After His Inauguration: How Has President Tinubu Performed So Far? by 9gerian: 2:58pm On Jun 29, 2023 |
I would judge him as fair, until I see: 1. the roll out of buses across major cities and states to ease transportation costs of commuters whose income and savings are being wiped out by the inflation caused by the removal of fuel and dollar subsidies. 2. Significant crushing of the terrorists and bandits that are preventing farmers (from farming), and thereby contributing to food inflation and hardship. 3. Commencement of the Dangote supply of fuel to stimulate the local economy. So far what has happened is a situation where the marketers given importation licenses are trying to push prices up with a view to form a cartel with Dangote and other local refiners. This is why they are currently pushing the N700 per liter narrative to form a kind of “coopetition” the opposite of the competition that is intended to drive down the price of PMS. Very dangerous development indeed. These 3 items if already significantly addressed would have seen my scoring this administration very high- minimum 70%! The actions so far is what has earned them an average score, we need results especially these low hanging fruits listed above to move them into a good score. Omicron007: |

Politics / Re: An Anambra-based Man's Take On Soludo's Clarion Call To His Lagos-based Kinsmen by 9gerian: 11:45am On Jun 27, 2023 |
I think it was the program by Pastor Poju called “the Platform” that projected Obi as different from the rest. Especially when he mentioned how frugal he was, and how he left some surplus in the state coffers. However, Tinubu’s landmark achievements in Lagos in spite of the withholding of funds by Obasanjo’s federal government from Lagos easily dwarfed Obi’s lackluster performance as governor of Anambra for 8 years, evidenced by the comments by Anambra citizens at the time, which were dug out to counter/dispel the big talk by Obi. This was why Obi could not muster more votes in the southwest, else it would have been a walkover in most of the southwest. richie240: 5 Likes 1 Share |

State police will ensure that there is competition amongst the police forces, which will reflect the management style and capacity of the state governor. The federal police will only step in where the state fails, which becomes an indictment, or when the case interstate interstate. Competition creates efficiency in all systems. Then, CCTV and other resources will be deployed efficiently, since no state police will like to be indicted or have the federal police do its work for it. Crime is not so hard to crack with proper police reforms, laws and if properly planned and executed. amoreobansu: |

Politics / Re: Nigerians Accuse Tinubu Of Tribalism, For Bypassing Brilliant Dr. Obiora by 9gerian: 9:14am On Jun 10, 2023 |
Well said. But have you observed that there a lot of igbos in the Lagos State civil service who are mostly obidient who openly opposed the APC in favor of labor party at every level in the last elections? There is therefore a high probability that appointing Dr Obiora will definitely not give the president the confidence of undiluted loyalty to his government and his planned reforms, which become almost equivalent to retaining Emefiele in the position in terms of trust. This may be why he was passed over. Moreover, there is slim chance that if nothing is found against Emefiele then he may resume his duties according to the principle of innocent until proven guilty. This is why this move is not yet a big deal at least until the unveiling of the full cabinet, which must reflect inclusiveness regardless of party sentiments. These are some of the valid considerations I believe. Chekwume16: |
Politics / Re: Fuel Subsidy: You Can't Task The Poor To Pay The Rich - NLC Mobilises For Wed by 9gerian: 7:42pm On Jun 05, 2023 |
1. Those electric buses that Lagos just got should be looked into and arranged for every state of the federation ASAP. They can mix with diesel buses for short to medium terms stability as well. The buses will convey workers across major highways to ease transportation costs for low income workers. 2. Salary review should be done with the private sector involvement so as not to lead to wave of mass lay offs of workers. Both public and private sectors should be supported with low interest loans where needed. 3. The government must reduce its own spending, and ensure that there are no free fuel for any government officials, including the president and all National Assembly members. Everyone must pay premium for pms in solidarity. Anything outside of this is wickedness. 500 per liter is not a joke and should not be for some while others enjoy it freely. Ultimately, the removal of subsidies (dollar and pms) will seriously stimulate the economy and boosts the employment figures. More people will gradually be pulled out of poverty and household income will grow. Disposable income will also grow accordingly and gradually people will be able to afford their usual cravings that look too drastic to forego after all the palliatives provided for their basic needs. For the subsidy removal to succeed, the government has to be absolutely transparent and communicate every little detail of the journey. This is while the NLC in conjunction with CLOs and Media play the roles of the watchdogs that monitors, reports on and protects the commonwealth of the people. Then everyone works together! God bless Nigeria! |
