BuddahMonk:Gbam! The colonial masters made 3 towns Enugu administrative, Onitsha commercial and Aba industrial in Igboland. Following States creation Imo and Ebonyi got none of these cities. Imo did well to capture tourism. |
I agree with him as our institutions are already showing signs of working. Fuel price is gradualy normalising while our refineries are gradualy starting production. Government offices are now waking up to their duties while the nations of the world are gradualy accepting us back into the fold. Buhari will work miracles in 4 years. |
Afam4eva:You guys are here raining abuses on Imo State for being number 13 while Anambra is 10 in IGR. There is no way every State will be number one at the same time but being number 13 does not warrant these lies, mockery, blackmails and abuses. Rochas Okorocha has made his mark in one term and now we watch as Imo business men invest in mainly manufacturing industries. It is however wrong to claim Imo is not developed. It is as false as the lies that civil servants are owed 11 months. Let us wait patiently for this Buhari's non-partial Government to normalise Nigeria and then use our tongues to count our teeth. |
Scholes007:This is a more condusive version of Ariaria market if I may say. I hope it will not be over occupied in future like Ariaria.
|
LMFAO! Only a non-Rivers resident will take these lies serious. And please we are living in the filthiest city in Nigeria. Something needs to be done ASAP. |
Buhari visited Owerri immediately he won the Presidential election on a "thank you" visit. I think he should only be visiting and paying attention mainly to Imo because we are the only Igbos that supported and still support change and development of Nigeria. www.ngrguardiannews.com/2015/04/buhari-pays-thank-you-visit-to-imo-today/ |
barcanista:I hope you read what happened before comparing Benin Obaship which a Governor can as well sack. If Sultan of Sokoto who controls more rugged Muslims in more than 5 countries can be sacked then anything can happen. All a Governor needs is the backing of the people and most importantlyy FG and armed forces. What happened in Imo State is part of Jonathan's clueless leadership. He thought he could use Ilomuanya to win over traditional rulers in Imo State by offering money but they rejected it because Ilomuanya is a reknowned criminal who has no respect in his hometown where he ruled people with intimidation and Government backing. There are over 600 traditional rulers in Imo State and 550 are in support of Ohiri while less than 50 followed Ilomuanya. Backed by Jonathan they went to Ohiri's Obiri Eze Imo and desecrated it. Unfortunately for them Jonathan and Ihedioha lost and they have lost FG's backing. They need to be dealt with very well. |
IGBOSON1:What useful thing did we get in GEJ's admin? Wither Enugu uncompleted Airport, 2nd Niger bridge, Enugu-PH expressway, Enugu-Onitsha expressway, PH-Owerri expressway? You guys need to face reality and beg Buhari to do what Jonathan could not instead of pretending like it was well under Jonathan. |
AfricanGod2:Abia has more need for power than other Southeast States at least for now and we all know it was Emeka Offor aided by Jonathan and his friends that stopped the power plant for tribalistic reasons. Thank God Buhari is now President. The plant will work and Nnaji will recover his lost billions. Very wicked and jealous set of people. More power plants will be functional across Nigeria and power will really improve instead of the paper lies we are used to. |
Egbu Road. Roads lined with trees is normal here.
|
GarrisonCommand:Imo State is only owing one month salary which is about being paid just 2 weeks late. I wonder why you guys are not yet tired after the election defeat. |
Chibuike |
Igbonazy:I really do not get why you seem so worked up over nothing. Kano city has over 4 million people and has slums as well as the concentrated ancient part of the city but yet has some areas like real city as seen on that picture. |
StOla:I am proud of my country Nigeria and most especially proud of voting for Buhari all my life as a voter. He is the last hope for Nigeria. Had Jonathan won the last election, I would have declared Nigeria dead. The masses are happy with emergence of Saraki and Ekweremadu. God has visited Nigeria. |
emmvsoftyou:Most of those pictures are from Onitsha and Aba with few from Owerri and precisely IMSU junction, old Okigwe gate, Chukwuma Nwoha and Ihiagwa road. All those roads have been repaired but Chukwuma Nwoha which was ongoing when I passed there last. We all know that every town has bad roads but Owerri has the most percentage tarred roads in the East compared to the bad ones. The elections is over and light of APC won the darkness of satanic PDP. The losers should go and rest while APC try to salvage the already deplorable sutuation we've found ourselves. |
tonychristopher:Igbo is one in the sense of ethnicity and language but practically there has been obvious fragmentation which predates present political scenario. I am one man that wished Igbo were really one but my life experiences seem to contradict that wish. Forget Nairaland! |
emmysoftyou:Igbos are emotional but politicaly naive people. To someone like Chino and other Igbos of his kind they would rather create chaos than Rochas Okorocha from Imo State to become President of Nigeria. The reason for the attacks on Okorocha and Imo State is simply a reflection of the true state of the Igbo nation and its fragments. |
As for Orubebe the prison awaits him now or later. http://www.punchng.com/news/jonathans-agents-carried-out-two-bombings-okah-insists-diezani-called-me-20-times-to-be-made-minister-•-allegations-are-false-in-their-entirety/ |
barcanista:True fiscal federalism is very good especially for non-natural resources but Nigeria's problem lies more with corruption than resource control. Let us try Buhari 1st and see what happens before we give up hope. |
barcanista:The truth is that Jonathan worked under a threat to his life from certain forces. I wonder how such subsidy fraud could be so obvious and he refused to sack and punish all those involved instantly. I do not see a Buhari where such nonsense will be condoled. The civil society will call for Madueke's prosecution and Buhari will heed. Not only Madueke but also Abba Moro who supervised the fraudulent recruitment of death. |
If he did this 4 years ago, we would have had solid structures on ground now. What a shame. |
Land acquired in 1979 before 90% of Nairalanders were born. I guess land greed is not limited to Ikwerre, Ngwa and Onitsha. Every community has it in there blood but stsy cool till land value appreciates. I remember how Amawom and Umuguma people stalled many estate projects of Imo government. |
ezeagu:I define it as the regular 4 storey building frequently seen in most Igbo towns and cities or sometimes equally built by Igbos in Lagos, Kano and other major cities. I will give samples from some Igbo towns.
|
Afam4eva:Every city is clean and dirty. Its just a matter of ratio. Lagos has a lot of real city like buildings followed by Abuja and then Port harcourt. Enugu is more or less residential and Igbotic buildings. That has always been an argument of mine. Igbos need to start building those solid looking houses so that we can at least jave a street with solid office block looking houses and not the typical 3, 4 or 5 storey block of flats. |
ezeagu:Lagos, Abuja and Port harcourt are closer. |
Rose2014:I am yet to understand how Jonathans loss has anything to do with SS/SE. The truth is that we all needed Jonathan out. I wonder how a man who wasted years of high oil income could even be talked about in Nigerian history.Ethnicity is not our problem. |
Rivers and Akwaibom must be cancelled. What happened in those States is a disgrace to humanity. |
http://www.cknnigeria.com/2014/10/government-house-owerri-is-like-kitchen.html?m=1 "Yesterday, Sunday, we – Governor Aliyu Wamakko and us on his entourage – were hosted for hours at the personal residence of Governor Rochas Okorocha in Owerri city. The place is nicknamed ‘The Ranch’ and is the largest private residence that I have ever seen (and I have seen many). It is on a plot of several hectares of land, which, as I learnt, was purchased 14 years ago by Rochas from a construction company, Spibat (?). The main building, with the furnishings and the décor would dwarf the castles of French kings in splendour and opulence. As a student in France and Germany I visited several castles in Europe but compared to The Ranch, they are like boys quarters. We were clearly not impressed because it appears clueless to have that size of such residential building that cannot be maintained by any private person. We politely turned down the offer for a guided tour of the complex that can perfectly accommodate a teaching hospital or a moderate sized university. I wondered when the at-least 150 rooms would be fully occupied. This morning, we went to the Governor’s Lodge for our breakfast and were surprised to see that the Government House is like a kitchen, in size and equipment, when compared to the governor’s private residence. Rochas built that house with his money, I suppose, but I feel it is an investment wasted. Or is it poverty that is worrying me?" |
