She was eventually docked before the mobile court on a five-count charge of windscreen violation, tyre violation, dangerous driving, assaulting marshal on duty and obstructing marshal on duty. She was presented before Magistrate S Banwo who slammed her with a fine of N66, 000'.
In a sane society she would be handcuffed and taken straight to jail but the fools only wanted money. They don't even care about the safety of their officers or the woman, what if the woman has HIV or even the officer? Monkey does what monkey sees.....SHAME!!!!

taa. How many government workers do we have in Nigeria? How will the minimum wage affects a barber? Aside that, even the 18000 minimum wage, the state government s couldn't afford it and they're owing backlog of salaries. Fuel price is not only about the government workers. It affects every Tom, dick and Harry in Nigeria.
Are you familiar with what's called a domino effect? It can be positive or negative! When the minimum wage is increased, it does not only affect government workers but also the private sector if it is implemented properly, the problem is that the law is not truly enforced in Nigeria and this is not only true for wages but other factors as well. We are a nation with laws but so many loopholes, cut out the corruption/wastages and States would have enough money to pay salaries which in turn leads to more spending by the working population which ultimately makes it's way to the barbers and the market sellers!

Politics › Re: Proof Buhari's/APC Fuel Subsidy Is A Scam Planned Months Ago To Decieve Us by abbey621(m): 5:18pm On May 12, 2016
For example i spend 20 liters daily on my car to shuttle between Mainland and Lekki. I suffer at least 2 hours of Traffic inside heat so the A/C must be on. If i buy Fuel now for N145 per litre, that means i spend N87,000 a month on Fuel in my car. (Where i wan see am?)

When i get home i must buy at least 10 litres every day for the home Generator. That's N43,500 in a month Making a total of N130,500 a month on Fuel. Let me not add the 20liters per day i buy to run my office generator o!
You are the architect of your own problem! Your problem could have easily been solved if you invest in alternative power supply at home and work. Also since you buy the fuel for your office, it seems you own the company or are a top boss, you can easily dictate your working hours or learn about virtual communication if being physically present is not needed but in Nigeria we only advance ourselves in irrelevant issues such as celebrity gossip, fashion and so on, keep waiting for the Government to make your life better instead of using your brain!

You said you have masters and a pending phd but you don't reason and sound like one. The fact that it was easy for you cos you were book smart doesn't mean its easy for everybody else. The fact that you don't celebrate yourself and played off your achievement as regular guys stuff doesn't mean somebody else should do the same. Learn to celebrate with people instead of tearing them down. You don't know the struggle he went through to get that first class....
In your world you are excited by mediocrity so I get where you are coming from. All I needed to read was your first statement which disqualifies anything tangible you had to say! Go through my subsequent posts and see the reason why I said it was easy to achieve, if scoring 80% on third and fourth year courses is the standard for exceptional then exceptional intelligence has reached a new low!

Okay. But what made you bring "the States" in? This guy graduated from a Canadian University, not an American one. I couldn't care less about your academic achievements, so I don't wanna hear about them. How would you feel if someone told you "Masters" is becoming cheap, because every Tom, Dick, and Harry are going for them? Why are Black people too quick to tear each other down instead of supporting? We're our own enemy!

This guy was told he didn't have the mental capacity to study and succeed, by his Prof. That alone is enough to destroy a student's morale and lose hope. But this guy didn't and went ahead, striving hard and graduated - not only did he graduate, he finished with a first class. So next time, I'd advise you acknowledge and recognize a student's effort before disregarding them. It's a lot of people dropping out man, it's not easy. You should know more, considering you have 2 Masters. No hard feelings, but I'm a little disappointed you of all people had that to say about someone.
Once again you have good intentions but your brain must be running on emergency supply today because you keep contradicting yourself. You're mixing apples with oranges so I'll pick your points apart one by one. Firstly, Canadian universities and U.S universities are not that much apart, both educational systems are very laid back. To completely shut you up, I've attached the criteria for first class from UEPI:

Undergraduate Programs

Regulation 19 - Degree Standing

When it has been certified that a student has met all of the requirements for a degree, the degree standing is determined on the basis of academic performance in Third and Fourth Years. The grades obtained in the final 60 semester hours of credit required for the degree are averaged, with degree standing accorded as follows:
• 80% or higher: first-class standing
• 70-79.9%: second-class standing
• 50-69.9%: pass standing
80% or higher for First class and only courses from third and fourth year counts, this alone makes you look silly for arguing with me!

Secondly, if you read my initial post, you'd noticed I was referring to the way Nigerians are always celebrating first class as if it's the highest honor you can ever achieve at a university, I was not knocking the guy for his achievement but the way Nigerians were celebrating it as if it's a rare feat!

Finally, any prof is entitled to say anything about a student, it's called opinion and observation, the student could have messed up in his first and second years but decided to get serious in his third and fourth year and according to the university's grading policy only third and fourth year courses count towards CGPA. So my friend, while you do not care about my academic pedigree, it was necessary to state them as proof that I've also been through the system and definitely know more than you when it comes to academics! No hard feelings, I'm just blunt as blunt can be wink wink wink
Politics › Re: Buhari Does Not Have Integrity If He Approves Fuel Price Hike - Ahmed Maiwada by abbey621(m): 1:39pm On May 12, 2016
If you resist the removal of subsidy now, you will suffer for it later. If they had allowed GEJ to remove subsidy things would have been better now. Majority of Nigerians would have adjusted and we wouldn't have fuel scarcity again but the spineless coward caved under pressure and some brain dead trolls are now trying to intimidate Buhari not to go through with subsidy removal.

***BREAKING NEWS*** Fuel subsidy removal is here to stay, if you don't like it kindly hang yourself!

You don't know what you're talking about! UPEI overall Grade Point is even 4.3, not 4.0. I go to this school, and trust me it's not easy. If it's too easy to get why isn't everyone getting it? Keeping in mind there are 3 stages of "A" with the lowest being "A-" starting at 80/100. First class is a big deal, and it should be celebrated!
My friend when responding to a comment online, read the comment thoroughly before your dissent, noticed I was referring to American universities which utilizes the 4.0 GPA grade scale, now even at 4.3 there's nothing stopping a decent student from achieving first class. Speaking from experience with 2 Bachelors, 2 Masters and a pending PH.D, I know what I'm talking about. I don't consider myself a genius, not even an "efiko" but my worst CGPA was 3.88 out of 4.0. First class is only celebrated by those who can't achieve more, call me when you win academic research completion and grants, ping me when you have a perfect CGPA, now that's what celebrating! Once again I'm not knocking those with first class but from my experience it is becoming cheap like table water here in the States!

My one million question is,what happened to illegal refineries they claim to seize why don't the equip those refineries or better still support the product and refining in a commercial scale instead o destroying them?
If there's one thing I know about the Nigerian government it's the fact that it doesn't support true capitalism. Free trade is not free in this country and the government prefers to monopolize certain sectors. This is why we've been having so many problems maintaining refineries and other entities. Deregulation leading to full privatization is the key, I just hope PMB can maintain his resolve and not give in to opposition!
Celebrities › Re: Georgina Onuoha Blasts Buhari On Subsidy: You Are Uneducated Leader by abbey621(m): 12:33pm On May 12, 2016
Washed up actress with the I.Q of a snail, you bought fuel at 87 Naira at the expense of the government subsidizing with Billions of Naira, your country keeps getting broke due to past corruption and an existing system of wastage. You bought fuel at 87 Naira but every year there's fuel scarcity and citizens end up not having fuel or purchasing at ridiculous price of almost 300 Naira per liter. So with subsidy we keep getting ourselves in debt and yet the same fuel is not easily accessible, what would it be without subsidy? Without subsidy, no more cabals profiting from the Nigerian government, fuel becomes abundant and there's healthy competition among sellers. I bet the Actress is one of the gullible ones that actually believe Nigeria produces fuel, WE DO NOT!!! We have oil but it's useless because we cannot refine it, so we end up selling oil to the nation that can and then buy it back at ridiculous prices, can we actually continue this way? Support the deregulation of the oil sector and the full operation of Nigerian refineries, this is the way forward, this is the way a country builds for long lasting SUCCESS!

Nigerians are truly the problem with this nation! Greed, lack of empathy and outright madness is responsible for the level of poverty and suffering in this country! It's not just the government, the people will never change, they prefer the old, sleazy way of doing things but you must commend the Federal government for finally removing subsidy, if it works properly no more fuel queues and much more competition among fuel sellers. If Nigerians are smarter they'll start investing in alternative forms of energy, the sun just dey there nobody dey use am grin grin grin

I don't know why first class honors gets celebrated by every Nigerian, it's too easy to get that here in the U.S, in fact some courses you must be a dummy to get less than first class. I believe first class honors or Summa Cum Laude starts at 3.8 or 3.9 out of 4.0, too easy!

The mere fact that the theory of evolution contradicts the creation of man from the religious point of view makes your argument hard to believe! From the religious point of view, we were made to believe that man was created from clay. Scientists however believe that man is an evolution of the apes, from Sahelanthropus tchadensis to homo erectus to homo sapiens. This alone will make it hard for you to ever convince any atheist, as for me personally, I believe God exists, he has to because so many things are unexplainable by science or religion alone!

You are in a LOSS-LOSS situation. The first guy has symptoms of an opportunist and would eventually let you down. The second guy hasn't really put his life together not to talk of taking care of another person's life. Speaking solely based on my experience of living abroad, I highly suggest you forget about both of them and move on with your life, you've not reached your destination! Now if love has blinded you and you must make a decision then go by your age. If you are close to 30 or over 30 then stick with the first guy with the condition that his dad must verbally accept you! If you are in your mid 20s or early then I'll say string them both along for 2 years and see which one stays, maybe the 2nd guy would have figured out his plans and things would work out or the first guy might truly be repentant and willing to fight for you!

3. The pastor that pleaded on behalf of the husband

4. The mother that watched her daughter continuously get battered

5. The sister that should have paid boyz to deal with the man severely
