9jaRealist: And yet the people in those countries generally live much longer than people in yours… While many in your country are locked into toxic and loveless “marriages”, and die in their 40s (or early 50s).
And if by feminism, you mean women are not publicly flogged by so-called “youths”… Or can inherit or own property, and are not beaten/brutalized/raped by their husbands, yes, we should copy that civilization! >
It still doesn't justify your point bro. You fail to understand that every society has her own good and bad parts. The western nations might have a good system, good economy and good infrastructural development that works for all, but when it comes to morality the western world has failed woefully. Africa might have failed in the area of leadership, economy and good infrastructural development that works for all, but in the area of morality we are still doing fine, and we will continue to uphold our moral principles and values.
I conclude by telling you that, is not everything you see and copy from the west all in the name of civilisation, some things from them are good ( eg science and technological advancement, functional systems, and good infrastructure etc.) But some things from them are also bad for the growth of any individual (eg homosexuality, abortion, excessive freedom etc.). In Africa here you can also learn morality and also your children, but not other vices like bad leadership etc.
I'll strongly advise to always go for the good parts and leave the bad parts for them o. Just my opinion.
saintadeola: Who gave u right to do so,it’s there life.they should keep doing there stupidity in Nigeria,go and do that in western world,ur life is over
That's where you're getting it wrong. Every society has norms and values in which they adhere to, they might accept it in western world because is their way of life, but in Africa it won't be accepted because is not our way of life.
The earlier you understand this the better for you.
Live and lets live moda fuckkers Flog any of my female relatives and watch me knock your head off your neck
These are some of the things that come alongside civilization Accept it or fuckkk off
That is how I was walking with my two baby sisters in New Benin markets and one idiot was about to cause awareness and call them names because they were on a skimpy, diaphanous and translucent outfit I walked up to the moda fuckker and looked him straight in the eye and say I' mma punch someone in the face..balling'up my fist right 🤛 about now...no one fuckkk with my baby sisters and go scot free
Macho man That's not civilisation, it's indecency. Stop encouraging them to do bad thing, those little sisters of yours will become someone's mother tomorrow.
Telling your sisters to dress responsibly won't cost you a thing, if you love them you'll give them good advice.
I work in a company and my take home is 450k after tax. My problem is I have been thinking of a skill to learn as this job would not last forever. Aside this job I do not have a skill and as a man I feel one should have a long lasting skill. Please any suggestions would be pwelcomed aside from online skills. Thank you .
It's a good idea, you're really proactive, and that's good. I'll strongly advise you go learn satellite installation (DStv, star times etc. )or solar installation , or even both.
blazepascal: Stop comparing yourself to the ladies.
We don't have the same privileges. They have all the chances to live and experience a better life.
They might never go hungry. They might drive the latest version of car, they might live in the best apartment in the city, use the latest technology, fly first class.
But you as a man will have to suffer to become someone or experience these things. Working should be your moto.
Suffer today so you can have a better life tomorrow, don't compare yourself with your sisters, don't hate the females in your city for living a life more than you.
We are different, a man must suffer to become someone of importance. That's why you must understand what is taking your time and little money and cut off with them.
You identify your wastrel in your life. In this journey of life, a man's worst enemy is idle time.
Let this message scare you, wake up and stop comparing yourself with the females. A broke man is nothing even to his family. A broke girls is something to her family members.
Don't be delusional, we are different and our chances are not the same to smile or be respected. A broke guy is not respected, he has no value to his community, they laugh at you when you walk by, the beautiful ladies call you loser. Get up.
Get up! Be scared of your future.
#BLAZE
To some extent I think you're bias in your statement. I think you should advice ur precious women to stop displaying their gold-digging attitude and look for a way to add value to their lives.
Every gender needs personal development so they can be of use to themselves, their family and society at large. so stop talking about the men only.
dustmalik: I was born in Sokoto, and I can assure you that the Hausas are the most honest Nigerians you can find out there. I am not a northerner, but Ebira, so don't think I am supporting my tribe.
The only time you will have a problem with a Northerner is when you mess with his religion. He doesn't joke with his religion.
Where did you get your factual analysis from to prove there are the honest in Nigeria?? Have u lived in every corner of Nigeria??
Debater: The Bible contains a few passages that are commonly interpreted as condemning homosexuality, so in my reading, I marked these down:
Leviticus 18:22: "You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination." This verse is part of the Levitical law code, which provides instructions to the ancient Israelites. It is often cited as evidence of a prohibition against same-sex relations.
Leviticus 20:13: "If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them." This verse is another one from the Levitical law code that emphasises a severe punishment for same-sex sexual activity.
Romans 1:26-27: "For this reason, God gave them up to dishonourable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature, and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error." This passage is from the New Testament epistle of Paul to the Romans. It is often interpreted as a condemnation of same-sex sexual activity.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10: "Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." This passage lists various behaviors that the author, Paul, considers sinful, including what is often translated as "men who practice homosexuality."
Genesis 19:4-11: This passage tells the story of the city of Sodom, where the men of the city sought to engage in sexual relations with two angels who appeared as men. While the focus of this story is on the sin of attempted rape and the lack of hospitality, we Christians also interpret it as a condemnation of same-sex sexual activity.
1 Timothy 1:10: This verse is part of a list of vices and sins, and it includes "men who practice homosexuality" among those who are considered contrary to sound doctrine.
Jude 1:7: This verse refers to the city of Sodom and Gomorrah, stating that they "indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire" and serve as an example of undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.
THE VIEWS OF DIFFERENT CHURCHES
Different Christian churches and their leaders hold diverse views on homosexuality, although individual believers within each denomination may hold diverse opinions:
Roman Catholic Church: The Catholic Church teaches that homosexual acts are considered sinful, but it emphasises the dignity and worth of every person, including those with same-sex attractions. The Church calls for individuals with same-sex attractions to live a chaste life and seeks to provide pastoral care and support, and also encourages society to pray for them and not condemn them, but their actions.
Eastern Orthodox Church: Similar to Catholicism, the Orthodox Church teaches that homosexual acts are sinful. It emphasizes the importance of marriage between a man and a woman and promotes the practice of chastity outside of marriage.
Anglican/Episcopal Church: The Anglican Communion (including the Episcopal Church in the United States) has experienced internal divisions over the issue of homosexuality. Some dioceses and bishops affirm the full inclusion of LGBTQ+ individuals, allowing same-sex marriages and ordination of openly gay clergy. Others maintain more conservative positions and do not permit same-sex unions or the ordination of openly gay clergy.
Protestant Denominations: Views on homosexuality vary widely among Protestant denominations and individual churches. Some mainline Protestant churches, such as the United Church of Christ, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), and the Presbyterian Church (USA), have embraced more inclusive positions, allowing for same-sex marriage and ordination of LGBTQ+ clergy. Other denominations, such as the Southern Baptist Convention and many conservative evangelical churches, maintain more traditional positions, considering homosexual acts as sinful.
Other Denominations and Independent Churches: There are numerous other Christian denominations and independent churches with a range of views on homosexuality. Some have embraced LGBTQ+ inclusion and affirming theology, while others maintain more conservative positions.
In conclusion my fellow Nairalanders, according to my religious beliefs as a Christian, homosexuality is sinful. The Bible contains verses like Leviticus 18:22 and Romans 1:26-27 that are often interpreted as condemning same-sex relationships. I believe in upholding traditional values and view heterosexual/straight/opposite-sex relationships as the only morally acceptable form of intimacy.
Thank you and Happy Sunday. 🙏❤️
Everybody knows homosexuality is a bad thing and a sin b4 God almighty, only the blinded and possessed fellows of the devil sees it as the right thing.
LegallyBlunt: Good day everyone. For a couple of weeks now, there has been issues where I worship.
Mostly between the Pastor and his assistant (presently former assistant). They had a falling out, which escalated to a point where the assistant stopped his duties.
Now, I managed to ask questions about the issue and the Pastor gave his version. I also got to know about the assistant's version.
However, here's the issue - they're not in speaking terms! Isn't that malice? Isn't that dangerous, and a deviation from what Christians ought to do? Are they not in danger of hell and manipulation from the devil and agents of sin?
What's even more painful is that the church just continues like there's no issue on ground. It's sad, really.
It's seems they've forgotten what the bible they're reading every day said about malice, I'll suggest you call both of them to order and talk them, remind them of the dangers of what they're doing.
May God give you the wisdom to settle the issue. The devil is really at work.
Daddyseun1: This matter is rely bothering me, planning how to chase her out, if not for the sake of my boy 3+ it would save been long. Am feed up. No single respect from her
Just end the marriage in peace bro, there's no need staying with a woman who doesn't respect her husband. For your own sanity end it.
radiolover: I have sent possibly more than 80 applications and fortunately, I got called by a few.
I have exhausted scarce resources to attend interviews, editing and re-editing resumes to fit a certain role and position, cost of transportation, I don't want to even mention having to trek a long distance sometimes due to lack of fund to pay Tfare. I mean someone is broke and hungry and trying his best to land a job but he's rather receiving rejection mails. What is this?
On Monday, I received a rejection mail from automobile company where I applied for a marketing role. On Tuesday, I received another one from a production factory.
Now I just returned from another job hunting only to open my mail and saw another rejection mail. This very one pain me most because I had high hope on it and i have spent so much on it too. During the second stage of the interview, I can remember how I waited from 8am till 5pm just to see 'Oga', and after seeing him, I began to walk my way home and got home late. I know i'm sounding sentimental here but it's so annoying that i went through all that 'ontop empty belle' and at the end, I wasnt offered the job.
Very very painful and morale killing.
I feel so bad right now.
Feels like the world has crashed.
Feels like everything has finished.
Feels like everything has ended.
Feels like more hunger for me ahead ahead.
Who has faced this before?
How did you comfort yourself?
Don't feel dejected and depressed, instead use it as a source of motivation and keep pushing.
GoWithGood: What is giving you money to eat and sustain yourself as you don't have a job presently, in the face of the hard/harsh economy we are today?
Let me hear from other job seekers. Perhaps, we could help ourselves.
Real estate management. I never thought of doing something like this after I graduated, but I was waiting for my call-up letter wen my sister told me that his boss who's a real estate manager and surveyor needs a site agent in one of the properties he's managing. So I quickly went for it, and he gave me the job. That's how my journey started in real estate business. I did that job in 2016, 2017 I went for service and came back 2018, thesame boss saw me and told me to continue working for him, this time it was more official with a salary of 35k. That's how I worked with him for some time then 2020 I started doing the business on my own after years of getting some experience, connection and knowledge about it.
I can boldly tell you now that the estate business is what's feeding me right now, although I've not sold property yet, only renting of houses and land for now. But by the grace of God I'll hit my target very soon.
Zxcvbnmghtr: When the results for the Presidential election from Ekiti state rolled out, some people that were beating their chest of which I was one of them then before becoming BATIFIED were so astonished, ............. ............ ............. that a state that is 90% Christian voted for a Muslim-muslim ticket despite all of the sermons of threats that any Christian that vote for Muslim-Muslim ticket nah hell fire straight, go dey burn like Sallah ram. Same threat dey use in emptying our pockets every Sunday did not work on Saturday election day.
Oga shut up, dey rigged the election and you claim the people of Ekiti voted for Muslim-Muslim.
purples25: 150k can disappear over house rent alone, and that's for a small house in a remote area.
She made the right choice.
There's nothing right about that decision. You talked about rent, do you pay rent every day?? The rent pattern here in Nigeria is yearly, and two months salary is enough to get you good accommodation, depend on the state though.
Nobody wants to live in poverty, and also not allowing him to get you pregnant wont still change the family situation, that's why as couples you must join hands together, come up with rich financial idea that will turn your family financial situation around, that's what sensitive women do, not to sit there and say I won't get pregnant if he earns 100k
Dimaya: In a controversial discussion, a young lady named Bamisaye says after getting married to her boyfriend, she won't get pregnant until he earns above 200K.
How practical is this in Nigeria considering the fact that most people today earn less than 100K?
